JD's Breakfast House in Corby

On route to Kirkby Hall in Corby from an overnight stop near Cambridge I saw this well-reviewed eatery on TripAdvisor. It was only ten minutes or so from our destination so we decided to try it out. Very full breakfast menu (including a 'build your own' breakfast!). Main meals all seem to include a hot drink and two rounds of toast and all very well priced. My Special Breakfast was excellent as was my wife's 'build your own'. Clearly a favourite with local bikers and locals, it was very well patronised when we were there between 11 and 12 this Sunday morning. Nice open air seating area if the weather is favourable and its own car park. On the outskirts of Corby at Weldon, easy to find in the High Street. Good children's offerings too. Happy to endorse recommendation!

Everything about this place was wrong which made it so right. The decor, the slanted ceilings, the menu photos on the wall. And lastly the 40+ year old spaghetti and floating fork. Loved it and I will go back

A great place for a full English breakfast, toast and a mug of tea. All freshly cooked to order. Friendly staff and the tables and seating are tidy and clean. If the weather is nice you can sit outside in a small enclosed garden. Definitely coming back.

Went there with my partner for breakfast. The ladies there are lovely. We sat in the garden and had the Special breakfast which is freshly prepared so it might take a while to get your food but in the meantime you get to enjoy your tea and the garden. Will definitely come back when we'll visit the area again.

Just got a special breakfast for £9.10.. Fairy good value. The breakfast was nice. Staff, friendly enough.. Sat in the garden, sun was shining. It's not the first time I have visited this place, I've been back several times so yes I would definitely recommend this place for a tasty breakfast guys.. 👍

First experience at JDs and it was a good one. Good size breakfast to start your day. Ample off street parking in their own parking area. Well worth a visit. 😊👍

Amazing breakfasts, huge choice, brilliant value, and always a warm welcome!

Unfortunately I would not recommend JDs based on the breakfast we experienced. Service was okay, slow but with a smile. Food was okay, hairs in the food wasn't ideal but it just wasn't enjoyable or tasty (other than the bacon being cooked well).

I have been here a few years ago and thought I'd treat myself to a breaky as I remembered it was a good meal. However, this time was not a good experience, food was very bland. Will not go back again.

I'm sorry to say it took 40 minutes to serve a basic breakfast which came with a hard fried egg. The place suffers from a poor mobile signal and no WiFi which makes it a very long 40 minutes. Also, not much change out of a tenner and instant coffee.

Lovely breakfast, but the room was a bit chilly when we visited.

We received a warm welcome in this breakfast house set in the main street of a pleasant village. The dining areas were immaculate, well maintained and decorated creating a comfortable atmosphere. The menu lived up to the title in the name and was solely breakfast based. I am a vegetarian and was restricted however to baked beans, tomatoes, mushrooms etc. I had a mushroom omelette. I did enquire if there were any vegetarian sausages or vegetarian bacon available. I was told there wasn’t much demand for it. In my view if it was advertised on their display board people would ask for it. A pity because veggie alternatives are in all supermarkets nowadays. A small supply could be kept in the freezer for us oddballs who are now over 10% of the population.

We called in for a hearty breakfast on our way down south. JD's was recommended as one of the best in the Stamford/Corby area. It was fabulous. A rear safe secure car park and a very warm welcome followed by a brilliant large English Breakfast at a reasonable price. I would recommend this place to anyone. Second time here and still the food is actually really nice but I have to mention how the chef does not, unless prompted, cook a "nice dippable egg!!"... first time I asked for dippable eggs and got them, where cooked to perfection although here again and did not ask and served the worst eggs I've seen for a long time 😔 somewhat my own doing and not tried their full range of food but what I have had is lovely, service is a little bland but good enough and staff are not afraid of portion size or even reducing values weather to suit themselves or you. Win win really just remember to ask for a dippable egg as they don't do poached

I have been here many times over the years and always enjoyed my experience and had gave good reviews on old account. I had advised two family members to meet at JDs today for them to have a nice breakfast spoiled by a waitress with an attitude problem who got snappy to them because she was confused of what she was doing in her role. These are nice family members who are far from rude which I sent to a JDs cafe but I'm disappointed that the usually family friendly cafe with good food had been let down by poor waiting today. I will visit JDs cafe myself soon and hope to put a 5star rating after improved staff efficacy.

I have been visiting this place for years. Great choices, something for everybody and always well cooked. I visit when passing by on business, and on my motorbike on summer weekends. Nothing else to say really......except go give them a try. Thank me later.

We visited for the first time on Sunday (04/08/19) for breakfast after a night at the Pub just up the road the evening before. Parking is very easy in a large gravel car park to the rear - the outside eating area, where we chose to sit, is very nice and surrounds the tables with lots of pretty plants making it feel quite secluded. The breakfast menu gives you a choice of 9 variations of full English however when asked, any combo is available and there is a strong list of extras that can be added to any meal. All breakfasts come with complimentary tea or coffee and white or brown toast. The price for this is very reasonable with the most expensive coming in at a meer £7. The cafe was very busy when we were there although ordering at the counter was a fairly easy process there was a little wait for the food - this was totally understandable and the staff were very apologetic. The food was fantastic not overly greasy like some fry ups can be. Overall a great little place and just what the doctor ordered of a nice fry up is what you’re after. They do also have a lunch menu I believe. We’ll definitely be returning.

Visited today for our 1st time and were very pleased with the food especially the black pudding, the best I've had yet. Though there were 6 of us, they didnt bring out our sons so I pointed it out and was told they'd sort it straight away. Exact same breakfast brought out about 15 mins later and given to another gent too which surely should have been given to our son first? 25 minutes later and after us asking another 3 times, it was brought out. No apology at all from the waitress but when we left, non stop apology from the lady on the counter. We understood they got busy quickly so were polite about it and appreciated her apology. We would definitely visit again as accidents happen and of course 4 stars given instead of 5 for the blip 😁

Lovely breakfast, good staff, pleasant and efficient

Not very clean. Food is all fried - everything was swimming in fat. Serving staff have doubtful hygiene skills. Thank heavens we couldn't see the kitchen.

A little slow on getting the good out, but, the good was lovely. Could not fault it at all!!!!

Waited 25 minutes for food, paid £7.20 for the farmhouse, fried potatoes slices, beans, scrambled eggs, 2 sausage and bacon. Sausages were the cheapest the could find and overcooked, eggs were obviously powered. Not acceptable for a £7 meal. Get more for a fiver from most places and the quality is much better. Over priced and very disappointing.

Me and my boyfriend love coming here with our baby and we love it. You can sit outside when the weather is nice or sit inside if it’s chilly! And the food is lovely for a breakfast cafe!

I travelled up to deliver to a customer nice and early. Stopped at Jd's and had one of the best breakfasts ever. 4 months ago and I still remember it enough to review it! Great food, great coffee. I even had to give compliments to the chef I was that happy. His eggs were perfect!

Good builders style breakfast with lots of builders enjoying same. Been here a few times and it's always consistently good. You won't leave here hungry!

This cafe is located on the main road through the village The menu is based mainly on cooked traditional breakfast The food is well presented and not too greasy for fried food Nice food Cafe is nice and clean inside and out Plenty of seating inside and out Good parking Only takes cash which is surprising as it is not the cheapest so make sure you have cash or pay the fee from the machine across the road I would use this cafe again

Una mañana de sábado estábamos en Weldon bastante por casualidad, ya que habíamos tomado un camino equivocado y nos quedamos agradablemente sorprendidos de encontrar JD's como estábamos de paso por el pueblo. No había probado el desayuno antes de salir y estaban muriendo por un café, así que nos tuvimos que parar y no nos decepcionó.El servicio era un poco lento, pero como no estaban apurados, no importó y la comida era la pena la espera.La próxima vez que estemos en la zona, sin duda volveremos de nuevo.

This is an ideal venue if you are visiting Rockingham Raceway. We went to JDs and had a great breakfast. Used the car park at the rear which had plenty of space. Great service hot food would definitely re visit.

Mi novio y yo vine aquí el domingo. Hay un aparcamiento en la parte trasera si vas en coche. Muchos asientos y el lugar era bonito y limpio. El desayuno tardo un poco en salir pero no importa esperar mientras la comida está bien. No hace falta decir que mi novio derribando su desayuno y mi salchicha sándwich y patata era agradable. Volvería de nuevo

went with a large order for my workplace had everything i asked for staff were very friendly & polite ordered 15 breakfast rolls in & out within 20 minutes all rolls recieved no complaints from a happy workforce we will be using jds again very soon

We was on our way down to Silverstone, most places shut at that time of morning except service stations but we found this little place and it was great nice home feel and the person who served us was friendly asking us where we was from etc we was one of the first ones in, thought it would take ages but wasn't long at all very nice place snd friendly!!
