First time here, went with friends for karaoke night. Very friendly staff and a great a crowd. Highly recommended.

Haven't eaten yet ,it's a nice simple bar ,no frills in Clapham,they do food events and I believe music. They've got a lovely large garden at back and waite for it ,dog friendly. They also do 2for 1 piza Tuesday. So what U waiting for

A great place to watch the football, lots of screens. Very well priced drinks and a really friendly bar staff. Great pub.

Carling was decent. Was a quiet Thursday evening only had the one pint. Happy enough to chill in the bar for twenty mins

We are from Kent and we're up in Clapham for the day yesterday. We stopped here for lunch, what a lovely pub, so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for Laura the manager, she made us feel so welcome. The food was amazing, they were the best Chicken wings I've had in ages. If we are ever up that way again we will definitely go back.

Great pub, they have live music most weekends, plus regular bingo and karaoke! Not to mention the huge beer garden which is perfect for the summer evenings

Came in on the bank holiday weekend. They had put on an amazing day, BBQ, music and bouncy castle for the kids.... And adults later :) Staff were lovely and welcoming, great all round pub that put on so many events year round. Will be back!

don’t have a choice to rate it no stars so i’m putting one. awful welcome from staff chatting to customers, we got dude looks and laughed at as we walk in. felt very uncomfortable in here so i didn’t even order food

Popped in for a couple of pints and a bite to eat. Food was very reasonably priced and delicious. Most importantly the ale was ace. Bar staff excellent. Definitely returning.

We popped in for lunch today while taking a break from a trip into town. Warm, friendly greeting, especially from the lovely dog who was instantly our best friend :-) We decided to have lunch while here, and were pleasantly surprised by the vegetarian option available. We had a very tasty vegetarian burger with halloumi, avocado and sweet chilli sauce. The chips were "proper" chips. An absolute delight to meet you all, we will be back

We came tonight on 22/12/2023 for the karaoke. 3 generations of family and friends. There was trouble with locals right from the start. Fighting,men in ladies toilet smashing windows and agro in the car park then agro back in the pub. Left early because trouble makers weren't chucked out. Think one of the male trouble makers was also sick in ladies toilet. Certainly not a family pub. Will not be returning.

Just had lunch here with the family. Thought I'd just have a snack so i chose the roll with chips and salad. It was definitely more than a snack! Two warm rolls arrived stuffed with chicken, bacon and mayo, aswell as a small side salad and a generous piping hot serving of crispy hot chips. Yum!!! I was stuffed. I also had a decent sized hot latte which was served with a generous portion of three, yes three!! custard creams. Lovely food, friendly service, thoroughly recommend. 😊

What a true hidden gem, went in there while our car was getting sorted, had a quick bite to eat and enjoyed the beer and lager selection the staff know there drinks, as for food spot on yes small menu but by no means definitely not on the small side, had the wings and mozzarella sticks starter followed by gammon egg chips peas , and chicken kebab salad and chips, WOW what taste spot on proper chips proper gaming and no rush, as for atmosphere was spot on welcoming and you can see the locals make it specials board worth a look great staff can guarantee will be back even so am by no means close by but will be back. Visited 29th July thank you to staff here.

I love the atmosphere of this lovely local. Over the past few months I've visited for food and drinks, sometimes with my whole family, sometimes just with my wife - each time the welcome and service have been warm and friendly. The punters, too, are friendly, chatty and helpful. The menu is uncomplicated too, which makes for good and consistent quality. It's a proper local place to chill out and connect and I'm grateful it's there.

We called in for dinner off chance. The staff were very accommodating and the food was good. Although the pub was busy, the other customers were very welcoming and friendly. We had an enjoyable time. This is a good traditional pub, it is worth visiting.

We frequented this pub while working by Yarlswood. The welcome here is almost as good as the food was!! What a great place to visit. Wish this pub was in my village. Well done Fox & hounds keep up the good work and food. :)

It's the first time we've eaten here and we will definitely be back! The most amazing pizza, a warm welcome, quick and friendly service. Good choice of drinks too and we are planning to try pie and fish night. Would recommend a visit. Thank you Jasmine and team.

Had a wake here today after our Mum's funeral. Lovely selection of food laid on for us.. presented well, tasted great and plenty to go around. Staff welcoming and friendly. Superb value for money.. Highly recommended.

Horrendous stale overpriced beer.

The pub was nice and clean, the Landlord and his wife were very friendly and the food was cooked to perfection, chips were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The only down side was that my brother and I were the only customers at lunchtime on Friday. Apparently, it's busier in the evening.

We called hoping for food but the kitchen is closed until further notice. Still, we would have stayed for drinks in the garden but we wanted to put two picnic tables together because we were a family 9 and the landlord was very grumpy about it even though we said we’d put them back afterwards. We felt unwelcome and went to the pub down the road instead. Unimpressed with both him and the dated pub.

Went for Sunday lunch and very much enjoyed the atmosphere and service. Food was good and plentiful, vegetarian option good. Not pretentious, just genuine and good value for money.

Golly.....why haven’t we been here before?! Despite living locally we had never been in the Fox & Hounds.....until today. We were soooo impressed! Hubby and I were made to feel very welcome as soon as we went into the bar. It set the tone for our most enjoyable visit. The young lady who served us was just great. Friendly, attentive and helpful. We selected our lunch from an extensive menu. Apparently there is a new chef and all the food is locally sourced and freshly cooked. We sat in a sunny garden and thoroughly enjoyed our meals which were perfectly cooked (fab chips), piping hot and generously portioned at a very reasonably price. We felt ‘looked after’ service wise. Nothing was too much trouble. Frankly it completely surpassed our expections in all ways. We will definitely return and are looking forward to trying the Sunday lunch which, on talking to some other customers, is delicious! Go - you will be pleasantly surprised.

Stopped in here with my wife for a bite of lunch. The menu is varied and reasonably priced and you can get a decent pint of beer as well. The weather was nice so we sat outside in the beer garden. The food was pretty good as was the service. If you've got young kids there is a small play area out the back as well. All in all a decent lunch in pleasant surroundings.

We visited with two friends for a celebratory meal. We were pleased to find that most things on the menu were home made,including several types of plate pies, which were generously filled and very tasty with good pastry. Served with 3 veg & choice of potatoes. There was also a specials board. All the food was good and reasonably priced. Good selection of drinks as well.

Very good quality food, small party (2 -4 people) service is great, anything bigger seems to be a bit of a struggle. Would recomend just on the food, its worth waiting for

Lovely Sunday lunch – although not many people there. Friendly atmosphere and staff. However, just heard the chef has moved on (March 2018 )and not sure what will be happening now in the kitchen.

Lovely food, excellent quality, Sunday roast is the best around Bedford.

Popped in for lunch. Clean, neat, tidy. Staff excellent, put us at ease straight away. We both ordered the burger, one with bacon (no salad) other without bacon, both came as ordered. Very very nice indeed! Nice crisp fries, meat well done, cheese fully melted, bacon a real slice and burgers obviously home made from local sourced beef on a nice bun. Desserts were a made to order apple tart/crumble with custard and a creme brulee. I'd recommend both. Pleasantly surprised it was all very good, Will definitely be returning soon.

We have eaten here now on three separate occasions, lunch, dinner and Sunday lunch. Each time the food has been superb from smoked salmon and crayfish salad, fish n chips and succulent roast beef all have been delicious with a special mention to the sublime chocolate brownie!! Good service and reasonably priced, we had our granddaughter with us and she had great choice and not just the usual kids and chips menu. We shall return

The Fox and Hounds until recently did not have a food offer, so I was pleased when I found out they are now serving food. On arriving to the small lounge area with around 7 tables you can see that an effort has been taken to create a relaxed and welcoming dining area. The menu is small which is a good thing as you would hope that it is home-made and not out of the freezer, and looks very reasonably priced. There is also a specials board with 5 items on it ranging from pasta dishes to the more different. ie: chicken tagine with fresh pomegranate and tabbouleh. The order was taken by gentleman behind the bar who also prepared the food, so it was not quick but then again it wasn't a long wait for a freshly prepared meal. I had soup and the Moroccan chicken my wife had the pate and pasta from the specials board, they were home-made and very generous in portion size. Where the food would not win a beauty contest it was really tasty (esp the chicken). I could not fault the service, food and the value. My only complaint was I was too full to try thr freshly cooked waffles!!

Going back to my roots old drinking hole made to feel welcome

We visited here about a month ago before it was listed on this website.Situated a couple of miles north of Bedford in the small town of Clapham,the Fox and Hounds is a cracking little pub to eat or have a pint or two.We have eaten in here before and thoroughly enjoyed their Sunday lunch(which was about £10 a head) however it was a visit on this occasion for drinks only.More of a sports bar to the left as you enter,there are your typical flat screens dotted around as well as a decent bar area.They serve Wells Eagle IPA as well as Youngs bitter,i had the latter as well as a few pints of guinness.The Fox and Hounds is family friendly too,we saw a few young families in on the day we were there.The pub also has an excellent rear garden,quite large however my only tiny criticism is the small car parking to the front of the premises....which cannot be helped.Visited April 2017.
