The Bluebell in Bedford

The food was really good. Sadly they were short staffed that day and full, so the service was slow, but the girls that were in worked really hard to get everyone served, and I'm sure the kitchen was manic. Well done for still dishing up good, hot food under pressure.

El servicio fue servicial, eficiente y amable. Mi grupo tuvo una visita muy agradable y sin duda volveremos de nuevo. (No olvide la reserva previa y el pedido previo es necesario para grupos)

10 out of 10 experience! The atmosphere is perfect, staff are kind, friendly and helpful. The food is top notch with lots of options. We had the classic fish and chips with apple crumble for dessert! It was pure perfection. The best part about this pub is the chef Michael. He was hospitable, friendly and funny. We enjoyed our time and highly recommend this spot for the perfect dining experience.

Celebramos el velatorio de mi esposa en el Bluebell e hicieron un trabajo increíble de principio a fin. El personal era maravilloso y un montón de comida realmente encantadora. Tiene un buen ambiente y el diseño permitió a la gente moverse y charlar. Había otros miembros del público en la otra mitad del pub, pero eran muy respetuosos con nosotros. Recomendaría encarecidamente este lugar para cualquier función especial.

I was there for a wake. The staff were lovely and the food they laid on was great. Not been to this pub for a long time, but definitely will be returning.

Hola, después de conducir muchas horas para visitar a mi familia al encantador lugar de putnoe. Mi familia decidió elegir el encantador pub de campanillas para llevarme a almorzar. De principio a fin toda la experiencia fue horrible. Todo nuestro pedido salió mal, se olvidaron de las patatas fritas. Al llegar, tuvimos la peor mesa que nos dio la señora del pelo rubio. Con nuestros tres niños y tres adultos decidimos pedir nuestra comida después de esperar un tiempo considerablemente largo nuestra comida salió por separado. Luego llegó mi pedido, que era una simple chaqueta de papa y frijoles. Puse mi tenedor en una roca dura bajo patata cocida. Siendo muy hambriento cansé la papa y lamentablemente era ineditable, luego fui al mostrador y pregunté por el hombre detrás de la barra para que la tomara de vuelta y me dijo que otra saldrá en los próximos 10 minutos después de esperar otros 40 minutos decidí ir a ver dónde estaba la papa chaqueta, así que decidí preguntarle a la simpática señora allí en la que respondió, se habían olvidado de mi papa chaqueta y no estaría lista a tiempo, así que debo tener un reembolso. Mientras me quejaba, el joven que estaba detrás de la barra decidió decir que no le gustaba y me alegré de que no fuera de la zona. Nunca había escuchado un servicio al cliente tan repugnante en toda mi vida. Entonces, cuando me iba hambriento, el gerente gritó que me prohibían, lo que me sorprendió mucho, pero nunca volveré ya que vivo tan lejos. Esta fue con mucho la peor experiencia en un restaurante público que he tenido en toda mi vida.

El asado del domingo en este Pub podría haberse servido en un buen restaurante londinense, los cortes de carne estaban tiernos y cocinados a la perfección. Las patatas asadas estaban maravillosamente asadas y servidas con una salsa que estaba fuera de este mundo. Las verduras y ese pudín de Yorkshire hicieron de esta visita del tipo que disfrutarás y recordarás en los próximos años.

A great place. They go above and beyond for you. We just went for tea though. It was lovely. They moved the chairs the table, everything was perfect.

Después de haber escuchado de amigos acerca de este conocido pub, pensamos "vamos a darle una oportunidad" tan contentos que lo hicimos. El Sunday Roast fue otra cosa con carnes y verduras perfectamente cocinadas, y aunque para algunos esto podría ser solo Pub Grub, para nosotros igualó a algunos de los mejores restaurantes que hemos probado este año. Desde la alegre bienvenida, a ese ambiente que te dice que es un lugar popular, desde la concurrida zona de bares, hasta aquellos sentados que solo sabes que valdrá la pena. No me habría importado el BlueBell como nuestro local como tales lugares son una rareza.

Visited a group of 14 for set lunch. The food was excellent as was the service. The same group have booked to meet there in 2 weeks as we felt that quality and value was so good. Thank you to all the staff for their excellent service.

Great place for a meal, any time of year! Food is great the service is done at the bar, friendly servers, the food is flavourful, the fish seemed to be cooked at a high heat, but I’m sure that’s mechanical not chef related.

We went here after a funeral. There was plenty of seating. They did a lovely buffet. Staff were friendly & helpful. Nice clean modern toilets 😊

Can't speak highly enough of the Christmas meal our 9 strong group had last December. Every single person enjoyed the wonderful food, staff, and welcome, my brie and mushroom Wellington was divine! It's a great pub, great food, prices are excellent, and they don't rip you off with their wine prices. No chintz or fancy napkins cos it's a proper traditional pub.

It is hard to believe that many years ago you'd be desperate to pop into the Bluebell. But how times change. Quality food, caters for all, young and seniors, massive choice of beers and wines and above all the staff are superb. The landlady is very personable, full of life and lights up the pub, the perfect mine host. The staff, from those at the bar to the chef, are hard working and nothing is too much trouble. Prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is very warm with quite a mix of ages visiting. Would highly recommend a visit. It has become a cracking pub which the community appears to have embraced.

Always a warm welcome. Good pub food at very reasonable prices. Two course ensioner menu for £10. Haven't had a meal i didn't enjoy. Small car park but on road parking available.

Went for lunch with a group of friends, There were 7 of us in total. The presentation was excellent. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was tasty and plentiful. This was the Best Christmas meal in a restaurant that I have been to in nearly 40 years. There was a meat, fish and vegetarian option with a meat and vegetarian gravy. Our table had all 3, everyone was happy with their choices The food was delicious and couldn’t be faulted. We weren’t rushed, it felt like the staff were happy to see us and we weren’t just another number. It was a reasonable price for a group booking. I would thoroughly recommend The Bluebell &The Staff.

If you’re a sports fan then this is a great pub - loads of screens throughout along with a dart board and pool table too. Plenty of space should you be in a group and quiet areas throughout as well. Outside there’s a good garden, split into two areas , which is tidy and well kept. Friendly bar staff and a good vibe throughout - a really nice pub.

Food was awful. We had Lamb roast Sunday lunch. Meat was tough . Veg under cooked and gravy really thick. Apple crumble extremely sweet. 3 out of 4 of us didn't enjoy the food. Won't be returning

Well, we didn't get to have our meal, despite the day being booked for a group of work chums to have a 'get together', they simply dumped us because they could quite obviously make more money from a funeral. Beware if you make a booking, you too could get dumped.

Literally was passing through and not many places open on a Monday. So pleasantly supprised food was lovely and the staff were exceptionally good highly recommend. Young lady behind the bar was most accommodating thank u pie of the day was bang on👊

The staff were incredibly helpful and charming and did everything to make my Dad's birthday party as enjoyable as possible. The food was excellent and very good value. Very highly recommended.

Best roast in Bedford stated on the menu is 100% correct. Been here about 6/7 times so far and the roasts just get better. Such generous portions, always great service, good value for money and always on point. Deffo recommend.

Went here for lunch with a friend and had a fantastic experience, food was excellent value for money and came very quickly once we had ordered it, the food was of brilliant quality. Chips were piping hot and delicious and my burger had a magnificent taste! Portion sizes were generous and both myself and my friend struggled to finish. Drinks were lovely and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend and I would give 6 stars if I could. ❤️

A Great Pub That Even When Busy Is Relaxing. A Perfect Local Pub.

I love this place, it is homely the food is cooked fresh by a chef who genuinely seems to care what he is cooking - unusual nowadays.

We are from Birmingham and today visited family in Bedford so pre-booked a table at The Bluebell. From start to finish the service was excellent, the staff were so polite and attentive. The food came out piping hot, perfectly sized and delicious. Quality comfort food. Will definitely visit again. Thank you for a great afternoon 😊

Went for a Sunday roast with family. The choice was roast beef or lamb. The Yorkshire puddings are huge. Roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli, peas & gravy. Delicious! Will be back for another.

Really busy, noisy and nowhere to sit.

Atmosphere was good, but staff ignored me twice and served people that came behind me. This also happened when my nephew joined me and he was also ignored on two occasions. So my suggestion is train staff to look at who requires serving . Apart from that the ambience if the pub was good.

What a gorgeous meal for a vegan. I'm very used to getting peas on a plate, but the meal the chef served up for me was just lovely. Hopefully his carrot soup ends up on his menu for everyone.

This is a great pub (evidenced by how busy it was) and the food is always very tasty.

A group of 9 had a truely wonderful Sunday lunch from the Christmas Menu. We had originally booked at 1pm but the Blubell asked if we could arrive at 1230 to allow the Chef and team time between big bookings which we agred to. On arrival the staff were amazing, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The food was fantastic, very flavoursome and delicious. We were never rushed, had enough time between courses. Really recommend coming here, been before many a time. Friday breakfasts are to die for too. Thank you team Bluebell.

Great breakfast descent price and everything was nice and hot

Today 02/12/22 myself and 4 friends had Christmas lunch. The staff were very friendly and our table laid out with crackers. Got drinks at the bar, and our food quickly came. We were all very happy with the quality, quantity and tastiness of the food. The desert didnt disappoint and my Christmas Pudding was delicious. Teas and coffee to finish and we were well satisfied. The place was very busy but the staff had everything under control. The place very clean and inviting. Well done to you all for your hard work and attention to detail. Complements also to the chef.
