I decided not to order breakfast, but a slice of cake. Came out of a fridge & nowhere near fresh. The coffee disappointing. They offer one price on the internet, but arrive there and the prices highly inflated. Overall the place looks run down, inluding the adjacent tat shop which looks closed down. Dire need of a manager

Little holiday trip to Buckthorn Western, cottage owners gave a recommendation to visit Kimbers . We had the ploughman's and the Rubens sandwich. OMG ! the sandwich was delicious 😋, well worth the drive .

The pie just melted in your mouth, no fat or grisle. The mash was fantastic and the gravy out of this world. My friend who is gluten free said the gulten bread was perfect. Finding good quality gluten free is very difficult but this one was lovely. Many thanks to the staff who were friendly and helpful and made our visit perfect.

We called in today as we were house hunting in the area. It was lunchtime and we were starving. Three adults and a three year old. Lovely, cheerful staff who gave us excellent service. Food arrived very promptly and was very good quality. We hope to live in this area soon and intend to become regulars when we do.

It was just ok. Not the best breakfast we’ve had. Bread was dry. Sausage had a small piece of bone that I had to remove from my mouth. Chairs sticky. Menu completely different from what is shown on their website. I wouldn’t visit again.

Wonderful choice of food, delightful friendly staff and lovely surroundings to eat in. They have a great log burner when the weather is cold and huge windows that can be opened up in hot weather. Vegan and vegetarian food available too. Couldn't be better.

We went to an evening Game Tasting Event at Kimbers Kitchen. This was a tasting of small plates of various game …rabbit rillettes, pheasant goujons, wild boar ragu with pasta, wild duck breast and venison loin. Everything was expertly cooked, compliments to the chef, and the service was efficient and friendly. We would definitely return for a similar event.

Kimbers never disappoints. The staff are friendly, the service is excellent, and the food is always of a high standard. With a varied menu and generous portion sizes, it is definitely worth a visit.

Very nice pie and quiche but prices are a little high and sizes are what one might call ‘ladies portions’

This review relates to the Farm Shop. The restaurant is not open. We have purchased a variety of goods from this shop from meat to fresh vegetables and we have never been disappointed. We are looking forward to the day when the cafe is open again.

Lovely clean friendly environment with welcoming staff. Choose somewhere to sit lots of tables some by the window or comfy sofas by the log burner to choose from. A balanced menu to suit all tastes and smaller choices if you want to have something to hold the hunger back rather than a full meal. We had the meat burger and vegan burger. Very tasty not greasy and lovely crisp fries to accompany it and homemade slaw. I have visited the kitchen at Kimber’s many times with family and friends never disappointed. Food cooked freshly so occasionally you might have a little wait. I highly recommend this for a visit connected to the farm shop and the antique/craft centre makes a lovely afternoon out. I know my parents always want to return when the are back in Somerset.

Welcomed by a warm log fire and smiling, friendly staff, our party of four adults and two children were seated at a spacious table. The chairs, as mentioned in earlier reviews, are metal tubular rather like a village hall but nevertheless, they were substantial, bearing my 24 stone body without a creak and still comfortable two hours later. A cheerful younglady took our drinks order and allowed us as long as we needed to decide on the choice of our food. The drinks were, of course, good (Fentemans never fails) and when it came the food was filling and tasty. There is no separate children's menu as the staff will prepare any meal in an appropriately-sized way for a child's appetite. All in all, we spent almost three hours on site and will definitely arrange another family get-together at the Kitchen at Kimber's.

Went here for Sunday lunch . with wife son his wife and my two grandsons . We had pre booked but probably need not have bothered as it was not that crowded. Menus were on the table when we arrived , which I thought was a nice touch and made a change from the "I'll bring them over when I've finished doing this other stuff " sort of attitude . The young man taking the order was very efficient and well informed and again quite a change from some places I visit. Food arrived after 15 minutes All the dishes brought out together. Kids had burger and chips others had lamb stew, quiche, goats cheese and beetroot tart and I had homemade faggot and mashed potato with gravy. ALL THE DISHESWERE SUPERB! every bit as good as some of the snootier places that are now popping up round here . This place is run by a local family, who have obviously gone to a lot of trouble to source top quality fresh local ingredients and by gum it paid off!So excellent food and service , and very reasonable prices . If I had to be really picky and look for something that was less than perfect I would have to say that the place could have done with being a few degrees warmer and the chairs were some old village hall type stacking chairs which might , I suppose be considered "shabby chique" by some folk but with my skinny old backside were not all that comfortable . So would I go back there? Most definitely, but maybe on a warmer day and taking a cushion . ,

I was on my way to Bruton and stopped for a very nice coffee, then explored the adjoining farm shop. There were very tempting cakes on offer but I managed to resist! There is plenty more to explore in the antiques and recycled barn next door.Something for everyone.

I recently had a Sunday lunch here and it was absolutely lovely. Guest chefs Guy and Suzy of Pickers catering gave us a really superb lunch, served with such charm and care, I wondered why I hadn’t been there before! We had really elegant and delicious starters followed by an extremely generous platter of roasted delights. Meats cooked on the barbecue (a tame description of the impressive outdoor cooking station) accompanied by loads of lovely vegetables. We initially sat inside the quirky restaurant, then moved outside to enjoy our puddings, join up with friends we’d seen and just prolong our lovely lunchtime. I can’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday lunchtime - and, you can bring your own wine. What’s not to like!

Went there for afternoon tea with a friend. The tea room is plain and functional, more transport cafe that country tea room. The welcome was less than effusive, the prices high, the food good in parts, the scones were not. An experiment which bears repeating only to see if they pay attention.

Just had lunch here for the first time. Really friendly, welcoming staff. Home made goats cheese and red onion quiche for me and hubby had gloster spot sosages with creamed potatoes and fresh veg. Very well priced, not expensive and well worth a visit. The cakes looked good as well. Adjoining farm shop sells the farms own meat, sirloin steaks are a must.

Great informal and relaxed atmosphere, with warm welcoming staff. I have dropped in for coffee and cake several times with husband and then took the teenagers in for a weekend lunch - what a success! Good menu with fantastic farm fresh ingredients resulting in a truly delicious meal. It is now the local favourite for all of us. The adjacent farm shop is well worth a visit too - I highly recommend this exciting new venture, just what the area needed. Well done!

Booked for dinner but on arrival, they thought we had booked for buffet, fortunately they had a table for us within a short time so we had a pre-dinner drink in the bar, which is fabulous and then went for a lovely meal in the Bistro, it is a small and intimate restaurant and quite modern and food is served on hot rocks, which you cook yourself to your own taste. Nice concept and food was really lovely BUT find that it gets pretty smoky when it is very busy. This is not a unique concept to us and it was a very nice change. Service was attentive and good and wine selection is great. Little pub at the Langport Arms is friendly and wonderful for pre or post drinks too.

What a delightful place to stay at. We stayed for a couple of nights to visit the surrounding area and had the friendliest welcome and comfortable stay. James, the waiter in the evening, was a credit to them. He helped you choose what to eat and was attentive and friendly. The food was outstanding, especially the fish dishes. The breakfast was the best we have ever had and was cooked to order with local produce. Cannot wait to return.

The chip shop has been closed for a while due to staff going on holiday. Last night we very much enjoyed our chips, chicken and curry sauce.
