This place is whenever people wish for high quality home made food and a dose of tender loving care service directed at tje customer(s). Indeed, I sometimes recall my French catering professional training long ago, as well as 15 years in the Hospitality/Private Service in the USA and UK: I do know what is good or not within those trades. The restaurant is clean, tidy and very friendly. The atmosphere oozes of holistic soothing vibes. The Pie of the Day , we did think, was exquisite (my wife was previously a Chef de Partie). .Well worth the price. They also have a £5 special for tea or coffee and a piece of cake in the afternoons. We had some Earl Grey teas and the cakes (Carrot Cake and Coffee Cake) were out of this world. Merci for such a golden memory and the glowing smiles from the Manageress, and Waitresses. We are so coming back as a regular treat!

Indeed, I sometimes recall my French catering professional training long ago, as well as 15 years in the Hospitality/Private Service in the USA and UK: I do know what is good or not within those trades. This place is clean, tidy and friendly enough. The coffes were very good, the cake superb and the girls serving there were just "au point", so, in all, superb! BUT, menus on the tables and a cheaper price for cakes (as an average of nearly £5 per portion is too dear), should be a must for a true better fair quality/price experience... It just touched the 4 points quality rating...

We have been regularly visiting this garden centre and the kitchen since it first opened. The food and staff have always been lovely. Today our visit was the opposite and my instinct told me we should have left when reading the menu, but we stayed. Their prices they are charging are not value for money for what they are offering, £13 for a standard cheese and ham sandwich, it arrived with the obligatory green salad and crisps, I looked inside the sandwich and the ham was dry, fatty, thinly sliced and they had placed four small scraps of ham in the centre of the sandwich that wasn’t edible, also missing one half completely. The cheese was dry and grated and thinly scattered over the bread. We also ordered a coronation chicken jacket potato £15, the potato was small, overcooked and dry, no butter was offered and we were firmly informed that they do not provide butter with their jacket potatoes. There is no waitress service, staff behind the till bring the food out. One particular member was rude when we tried to explain that we were not happy with the food, she was also irritated that I asked for a receipt. No apology was offered, they did offer to make another sandwich which I declined and left the premises. It is very disappointing to see the prices they are charging for their food for a restaurant in a garden centre, you would expect a bit more above and beyond. Just down the road across the A30 is a beautiful restaurant, lovely ambiance, wonderful staff and food, table service in a pleasant setting where they are able to provide good food at reasonable prices - Heron Farm, we enjoyed their food today.

Came here for lunch, had a dog wi th us so went into the conservatory covered seating area which was a little chilly. Very friendly staff and quick service. We felt the food was quite overpriced for a garden centre (£10 for a jacket potato, £16 for a wrap and chips) and didn’t feel it was amazing quality.

Hadn’t intended going here, but had awful service at another place we went to. So glad we went here. Lovely friendly service from beginning to end. Food was delicious . Maybe a little pricy but ok for a treat now and then. Cafe was lovely and clean.

WOW! Do try the Cauliflower and Stilton Soup… Amazing.. So good, that we found the young, delightful restaurant owner, Caitlin, and told her how good we thought it was. She very kindly gave us the recipe. Every time I come here, the food has been consistently good, modern and wholesome. Well done !

very busy little place , some staff helpful some not so . my sister went to the till and got completly ignored and she was the only one there !!! only went up to ask for butter . The food was ok . i went out of my comfort zone and ordered from the specials board. £15 for beef and mushroom pie in a red wine sauce with veg and chips. well it would of be lush if i were a vegetarian as there was only one very tiny piece of meat in mine !!! but loads and loads of mushrooms in a very watery gravey . i was not impressed !! however i do get it they are produced in numbers so hard to put meat in them all but it was very overpriced for what it was . save you money and go to the farm shop back up the road you came from !!! if i were to coke again i would only have a sandwitch .

Everyone needs to go here!!! Just stopped on my way back to London on the off chance of a bite to eat, and wow they did not disappoint! Staff and setting was wonderful and not to mention the carrot cake. Definitely worth a detour, maybe even a trip itself.

Haven’t been to Combe for a while but went today for lunch for my Daughters anniversary, I ordered cod Goujons on an open wrap, when it arrived there was 3 Goujons on some salad with tartare sauce on an open wrap. This would have been ok if it was a starter, the chips were powdery and not worth eating. Very disappointing meal and won’t be going back. Used to be good portion meals but won’t be going back. A mains a main but your mains are more like starters.

A friend had recommended The Kitchen. It is a great little find, with a lovely friendly atmosphere. I can’t believe how fantastic the food was and everything coming out the kitchen looked. We will definitely be back to try the menu.

This is a relatively new venue which was severely disrupted by the Covid epidemic so it was a great relief to find it open once restaurants were allowed to re-open. The menu is small but functional and we particularly like their fish and chips but the food is always fresh and served up well and promtly.

Lovely sitting area and good menu spoilt by lack of flexibility on the breakfast menu and my need to swap eggs and beans due to allergies. Initially “we don’t swap” became “ you can have an extra bit of toast” I get that every business has commercial priorities, but they also have customers, and in every situation the customer surely has to be made to feel they’re the priority and they’re being listened to. Unfortunately i wasn’t made to feel either, which is a shame as it’s a lovely place.

Wednesday afternoon 19th May and we visited Coombe Garden Centre. While we were there we visited The Kitchen Cafe. We sat in the outdoor seating area and we ordered 2 flat whites, £3 each. The coffee was very flavoursome and we were served by a charming young lady. There were some major works underway in the outdoor area, creating raised flower beds, water feature and a barbecue area. We had a peek under the protective fencing, it will be really good when finished. Will certainly be back.

Car broke down on the Axminster bypass: when fixed I had lost the will to drive another 4 hours so checked into the George Inn. In the middle of an outrageously good Halloween party, the staff were never the less attentive, sympathetic and checked me in quickly. Recently refurbished, the hotel is really and very well furnished and decorated - super comfortable, super clean, super cozy. It’s a little gem, with parking - great value too!

We stopped at the cafe for a coffee and to warm up and decided to have lunch. I had the all day small breakfast which was excellent, the bacon was really tasty and everything was cooked perfectly, not greasy at all. My wife had the Tuna melt panini which she said was the most delicious food she had on holiday in Devon. The service was friendly and quick and everything was spotless.

Had a few half pints while visiting town. Good selection, the barmaid was super helpful in making a choice, and provided some samples and advice. One hundred percent recommend. Great venue with a lot of room.

Nice friendly family run pub, always clean and tidy. Good bands normally on a Friday night. Well worth checking this pub out. Great prices to boot.
