The Neap Tide beer was delicious as were the steak and lamb main courses. All the food was beautifully presented. It was the perfect treat as part of our holiday.

Absolutely amazing, superb food, tasty well presented, delicious. One of the best sticky toffee puddings I have ever had. We were celebrating a birthday, the small touch of the birthday message on the dessert plate and the staff singing was lovely. We will definitely be returning.

The meal was delicious, imaginative, innovative and beautifully presented whilst being thoroughly unpretentious. The service was faultless and the ambience perfect. All this at a very fair price, just what we wanted after a walk in the surrounding countryside.

Beautiful quintessential pub in the heart of the quaint village of Kingsdon. Just had a delicious Sunday roast. Fantastic service as always. What better way to spend a Sunday lunchtime on a wet & windy afternoon. 3 courses for only £32. Amazing value for such great quality food.

Great place to stop and eat, not far from the A303. There's a lovely lady serving, and her partner is cooking behind. I had the venison, which was suggested and delicious. The banana and chocolate pudding was also amazing. The building has an old-world charm, very English village-like. All in all, it's a great place to stop and enjoy some wonderful food in a quaint Somerset village.

Took my parents for a pre-Christmas meal and we enjoyed a most delicious three course meal. The food was top notch and there was plenty of it as well. Our host, an Italian lady, whose name I can’t spell was very nice and worked very hard her party the chef cooked the food to perfection. Thoroughly recommend Kingdon inn couldn’t fault it.

Just had lunch on Sat 2nd December with a couple of very close friends who were treating us. Sat at their favourite table opposite the old fireplace & the place was busy. We then had the most fabulous set Xmas meal & the various courses were outstanding in both taste & presentation. We were looked after by the owners wife who could not have been more welcoming & we were served by an extremely nice young man who was knowledgeable about the food & who made the whole dining experience for us one to remember.(I thank him again for taking our photo for a memory album) We would highly recommend this venue for anyone looking for a special dining experience.

Lunch with friends. Griddled sardines with caponata to start, confit duck leg with creamed potato and red cabbage for mains, then a unique take on rice pudding. This is far removed from standard 'gastropub' fare, and, as part of their autumn set lunch, all for an astonishingly good value £22. Service excellent too. It's 40 miles for us to drive to Kingsdon but I can assure you well worth it.

Met some friends there for lunch. It was our second visit to the Kingsdon Inn and we received the same top notch service and fabulous food. Adam produces outstanding food, Today, I enjoyed Game Stew followed by the most tasty crumble. Cinzia and her server colleague looked after us extremely well. We will return for another visit in the not too distant future.

We had the most incredible lunch today! The restaurant has just started an Autumn set menu and we have to say the food and the service were outstanding! We will definitely visit again and would highly recommend the Kingston Inn for its creative menu using quality ingredients .

We have just returned from two overnight visits on the way to and from Cornwall. Where to begin ! We received such a warm welcome from the Hosts Cinzia and Adam. The room was cosy ,clean and comfortable with everything you need. Adam is the Chef he is so talented , is short a brilliant Chef who provides a wonderful varied menu, all fresh produce , home made bread and so much more. The breakfast would suit any one’s tastes from full English to smoked salmon, really whatever you want. All the food was presented beautifully, really first class. The atmosphere is fantastic everything you would wish for. We wished we lived nearer we would be there all the time. We are making plans already to return. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

This Inn is superb for lunch. I had Sunday lunch there and can honestly say that the roast potatoes were the best I have eaten in years. The roast beef was excellent too.

Our fourth time of staying and we will be back again. We always book the same well appointed cosy bedroom which is always so clean. The food is excellent and Adam and Cinzia, and their staff, go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as they can. The breakfasts are also delightful using local ingredients when possible. Kingsdon is a pretty village so near to the walks on the Somerset Levels and several National Trust properties. We love it and have just booked again for my husband's birthday.

We had a most wonderful evening at this charming village pub. The food was of the highest quality. How lucky we are to have a chef like Adam only 14 minutes away. Very fresh ingredients - the salmon and crab of the highest quality. The fillet steak was beautifully cooked and very tender and the desserts irresistible. We were so lucky to be staying in this pretty village and having this absolute gem on our doorstep.We spent a lovely evening in the garden with friends, enjoying cocktails, wine and a fabulous 3 course meal. All beautifully cooked and well presented. I had a delicious crab starter, monk fish stew and cold rice pudding for dessert (believe me, it tasted nothing like the stuff we got at school!). My friends were equally delighted with their menu choices. The service was efficient and friendly. We won't hesitate to return if we are back in the area.

We had a lovely lunch today at the Kingsdon Inn. As always, the food was delicious and the presentation faultless. We have been reluctant to dine out in these Covid times, but we felt really safe there today. Their precautions were spot on, and we will be returning soon. Top marks!

When we moved to Somerset we looked out for a good pub / restaurant for our regular Saturday lunches. The KIngsdon Inn is our favourite as it provides that great combination of really tasty food and excellent service in pub setting. My wife likes the good variety of fish dishes whilst I enjoy the good selection of menu choices finished off with a great sticky toffee pudding. We hope it won't be too long until they can open again - it would be a great loss.

I’m already looking to go again. The menu was succinct with 5 starters, 6 mains and 5 desserts but I wanted everything on it. My wild boar pappardelle and chicken supreme were cooked perfectly. I also tasted my husbands scallops and beef fillet which were equally as good. Apart from the food, the service was excellent. We had an 18 month old and the staff were very accommodating. We would have stayed for dessert if our daughter wasn’t getting tired. Couldn’t recommend this little pub enough

We absolutely loved everything! We are foodies so sometimes a bit let down on flavours etc eating out, not here! Scallops & crab to start, chicken and hake (with amazing tomato sauce) for main course. Home made ice cream and also tried to fool both delicious. The wine was lovely, the service absolutely great. Lovely atmosphere in the pub, would 100% recommend. If we lived here we would come all the time, thank you!

I've eaten 4-5 times now and the food has been to a consistently high standard. All the dishes are well balanced/flavoured and cooked to perfection. Service is always friendly and efficient. If you're in the area you will not go wrong dining here.

It was an interesting menu with something that appealed to each of us from a really good steak to a delicious scallop risotto. The staff were friendly and helpful and it’s a lovely old pub which is decorated with a modern twist inside. We had a very good evening.

We stopped in for dinner at the Kingsdon Inn on the way from Hampshire to Devon. It’s about 5 minutes drive from the A303 so very easy to access. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. There were a number of delicious options on the well thought out menu but we chose the hake and the venison with heritage tomatoes to start - all of which were beautifully presented and very tasty. We would definitely have had pudding but had to get on with our journey.

We booked a table for 2 as a belated birthday meal for myself. (Lockdown happened). As always we were warmly welcomed. The food was divine, the wine was fabulous and the atmosphere was so warm and bubbling. You have the best waiting team, extremely polite and professional as always. Your Covid safe measures made us both feel very happy to be out for our first post lockdown meal. Thank you all very much we will be back again x

We've stayed for 4 nights in their rooms and ate with them for 2 of the nights. Food is incredibly tasty and of really high quality. Don't expect mega portions - but do expect to leave the table full and having eaten top class food.We had the smoked duck Cesar, locally-made-moza and tom salad, ham hock terrine and lobster beignet for starters - all beauts with the lobster beignet being the star.Mains-wise, we had the beef fillet, chicken, halibut and venison - again all gorgeous, but the halibut was pretty immense!We only had desserts on one of the nights, but the pistachio parfait was A++++. The little shortbread biscuits with it were so lovely.There's wine from most major producing countries and a great selection of other booze.Service was perfect - James, Kate, Josh, another lady (sorry we didn't catch your name) and Cinzia were fantastic.Our room was really spacious for what we paid, with comfy bed, big refreshing shower and space for our puppy's crate. Breakfast - again, do not expect 3 x 20% meat sausages and oily fried eggs. It's fantastic quality - exactly the same vibe as the evening restaurant - in fact breakfast service is run by the chef's, even front of house.We'll definitely be back in the winter as we would love to see what Adam comes up with on the menu for the cooler seasons.You're in the middle of the countryside so don't expect 200mb broadband or a huge supermarket nearby. If you want gorgeous restaurant-quality food, but in a country pub setting, with traditional but clean bedrooms, this is a great choice!

Me and my partner stayed at the Kingsdon inn for a couple of days for a quick get away. I could not fault the rooms and service in anyway. Would highly recommend staying here. As for the food, well that was amazing, such great service and quality of food. Couldn’t have asked for a better few night away. 100% recommend

My husband and I have been back to the Kingsdon Inn for dinner a few times since it has reopened following lockdown. There are fewer tables indoors in keeping with social distancing guidelines, and also tables in the garden for a casual drink or a meal. The food is outstanding, maybe even better than ever. Among the starters there has been a delicious lobster agnolotti (a ravioli type pasta) with a scrumptious sauce, as well as a Caesar salad with duck or chicken. Mains have included inspired preparations of fish, lamb and chicken. My favourite pudding is a lovely plate with fresh strawberries, strawberry sorbet, cream, tiny meringues and shortbread biscuits. Best of all is the friendly and very accommodating staff. Always a pleasure!

We booked a two night stay , and initially booked evening meal , purely because it was convenient. Wow ! For a small pub the food was amazing .Excellent quality , Beautiful presentation and the friendliest staff , made this a truly memorable meal .A limited menu selection , but everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked excellent . Tranquil setting,staff were all friendly and service was excellent. We stayed for our anniversary for two nights in room 2. The room was very nicely decorated and had all you could need. The shower was great and the views from our room stunning. The food was fabulous, every dish was delicious, polite and attentive staff. My wife and I booked a table at the Kingsdon Inn for the grand reopening on the 4th July. Booking was easy via email, although our email was missed the first time.Upon arrival we were the first customers there, shown to a lovely table in a cove and had our drinks order taken. All COVID precautions were in place and observed by all the staff, they handled the 'new normal' exceptionally. Parking is easy and plentiful, plus they had deep cleaned and repainted/spruced up the interior.My wife and I both opted for the same main (chicken) from a really limited mains menu of just four items. The chicken was beautiful and cooked perfectly. We decided on the same dessert (sticky toffee pudding) which again, was excellent. We were without drinks for a little while, but soon rectified - possibly due to quite a few customers coming in at the same time. Drinks were superb, except a guest cider which wasn't to my taste.. nothing wrong with the Inn, just didn't enjoy that particular cider! Payment was smooth, the Kingsdon is more on the expensive side, but is worth it for the excellent food and service. Will definitely visit again in a few months.

I can honestly say that we had a wonderful meal here at the Kingsdon Inn tonight. Clearly they have worked very hard all through lockdown, redecorating the place and it is spotlessly clean. Every effort has been made to ensure that customers and staff are protected as much as possible and we felt safe and relaxed. Well done to Adam, Cinzia and the team.

A bit nervous about our first sit down meal out since lockdown. I needn’t have worried. All measures had been taken with the safety of both customers and staff in mind. Superb food as always. I had a tomato, buffalo mozzarella salad as a starter, with a variety of tomato types. Delicious. This was followed by fresh hake, cooked with a lovely array of vegetables. I can’t wait to go again.
