A fantastic, friendly country pub. A very warm welcome and traditional. Outstanding food and well cared for real ale. Publicans obviously know their stuff. Highly recommended.

This lovely pub has recently been taken over by new owners Martin and Louise. They have reintroduced a lunchtime menu, regularly have food trucks and Gish abd chips at weekends and have 3 beautifully furnished ensuite rooms to let.

You are guaranteed a warm welcome at The Kings head. Good quality beers and food (plus regular guest food options) are a staple, always a pleasure to visit. Also including guest rooms for accommodation, an excellent base for anyone looking to visit the area.

Amazing place! We actually stayed in this place to spend the night, and we were happy with our choice! The place is really well located, in the heart of Norfolk, very close to the lovely Norfolk Coast, Thetford Forest or Sandringham Estate, to mention a few. Banham Zoo is only 10 minutes away by car. The rooms are amazing, very comfortable bed, nice and new bathroom and plenty of choice for continental breakfast. We absolutely loved our stay. The host, and their dogs, Cocoa and Whisky, were very friendly and welcoming too.

We came to The Kings Head to watch a band, we noticed the week before there was accommodation available to rent and booked this so we were able to celebrate my birthday. Louise and Martin are such lovely and welcoming landlady/lord, and the accommodation was completely perfect, nothing was too much, everything was spotless and stunning with an en-suite. I can highly recommend the pub for the great atmosphere and entertainment that is put on, the beer garden is lovely and everyone is welcome including dogs!

Never tried it before but had driven past a few time from East Harling to Diss so we thought we'd give it a try. The menu is quite big for what is a quiet village, so that impressed us, but then they didn't have my first choice. Friendly atmosphere and obviously the locals are very comfortable here, which is a good sign. I must admit the paella and 1 slice of garlic bread didn't wow me regarding size or taste, but I'd go back to try it and judge it on a Sunday roast - that's the test of a country pub !

We took my parents for Sunday lunch and I have to say all in all fantastic. A lovely country pub with a nice relaxed and hospitable feel. The staff are personable and attentive and the food was spot on 'pub grub. The bank holiday sausage special menu was a real winner. A great concept with 70 odd choices. Just making our choices added a light hearted debate. If you want a no fuss pub experience The Kings Head is a great choice. Thank you.

My wife and myself, from North Yorkshire, were staying in the area with family. This afternoon I booked four for dinner, at 7pm this evening, after reading trip advisor reviews. When we arrived nearly all tables were taken but ours was reserved so no problem. The staff were obviously busy and we had to wait a short time to be served drinks. The barman apologised for the delay and produced drinks quickly showing us to our table. We all ordered different meals and these were served in the time we would expect the meals to be cooked fresh. Everyone enjoyed the food and the first pint of Adnams ale, ordered by two of us, turned into a second without hesitation. This was our first visit to the Kings Head at North Lopham and we were not disappointed all were satisfied with the outcome.

This pub is in North Lopham not Diss. I lived here in the 80's and the Pub was central to village life. In the 90's it closed and was reopened about 10 years ago. I now live in Oz and was so pleased to see many of the old locals enjoying the Pub again. Also the best ham, egg and chips ever. Well done.

Heard about their "sausage" weekend and decided to walk up for lunch. Went to the bar and ordered a lager and a pint of soda water. The price was astronomical, the soda water being almost as expensive as the lager. The landlord was not welcoming. I tried to make small talk with him and he grunted something and walked away. Got the sausage menu which had very few of the choices left and each sausage was £2 and not a decent size, If you wanted chips or anything else, that was additional. This is the 3rd time of trying this place and, yet again, did not get a friendly welcome. Would not go back

What a pub should be! Came in as a group and had an amazing roast lunch! The beer is really well kept - one of the best pints we've had! You certainly know how to look after guests. Everyone is so friendly. Even the chef came out and proudly delivered my handwritten vegan menu and had a chat with us! I really wasn't expecting that .. I had SO many amazing choices it was hard to choose! I went for the mixed seed, quinoa, carrot and coriander bake along with roast veg and my own pot of gravy. The others had roast chicken and beef and equally raved about theirs and the fact each had their own gravy pot tailored to what roast they had. The potatoes actually tasted like potatoes wow! I highly recommend this and really well worth a visit and will certainly be back when down this way or even make a trip to visit! Thank you!

If I was able to run a pub I would want one just like this. Nice, relaxed feel when we walked in as a group of adults, teenagers and a younger child. Everyone, dogs included, was very friendly and pleasant. We were made to feel incredibly welcome, so much so that we ate here on more than one occasion whilst staying in the village. The scampi was excellent! The bar staff were most friendly and chatty and we all felt valued as customers. The crazy golf in the garden was a nice extra for the boys to do whilst we relaxed over a drink in the garden. Thank you all for making our stay in the village all the more enjoyable with your warm welcome.

We booked a table and were not told that it was Sausage Festival Day - but no matter - it turned out to be a treat. Over 100 types of sausages on offer (crossed off the menu if they sold out of any variety). Served with the usual (mash or chips/Yorkshire pudding/peas/gravy etc). Friendly publicans, very cheerful and efficient young waiters and waitresses. A very attractive, busy, village pub.

We visited this pub this evening looking for a different place to eat . Ordered the Seafood Paella from the Specials board when it arrived it contained the least amount of seafood and chicken i have ever seen . Very dry in texture and tasteless and definetly not worth the £10.25 cost To top it all i was charged at least £2 for a pint of tap water with a dash of lime juice . Will definitely not try again .

I used to go to this pub often with my family until i noticed the service had gone down and changed to another restaurant. This was sadly due to my husband finding beef on his vegetarian roast plate. We recently revisited and were greeted with the same disappointing service. Firstly, the food took over an hour to come which for a quiet afternoon was unusual. The steak was under cooked and the chips were covered in oil so i ended up leaving most of my meal. My families meals were even slightly cold and felt like they had been put in the microwave due to condensation drips on the side..

Inaitially couldn't find a Tripadvisor page for the North Lopham's Kings Head, until I discovered it was misplaced under Diss - some considerable distance away. Make no mistake, The Kings Head is very much a country village pub, and a very good one at that. This was our second visit, lots of villagers drinking there on both occasions, and a very good indication of a popular village pub. Our visit was to eat, for the second time, and again we were not disappointed. There is a good basic menu and a comprehensive daily specials board.

Just home following Sunday lunch at the King's Head. Very impressed with the service, and friendly staff. Had booked over the phone as my second choice as hadn't been able to get in at our usual place. Did had some reservations, as we were treating my son and his girlfriend, so hoped we wouldn't be disappointed. No need to have worried, cannot fault the food nor anything else. Was busy (a good sign) and our reserved table was waiting. Choice of roast beef or roast pork, and around 10 other dishes on the board, including vegetarian and fish options. My husband and I both went for the roast pork, my son had the home-made steak and ale pie, and his girlfriend chose glazed salmon with new potatoes and salad. The roast dinners were generous portions, plenty of meat, several crispy roast potatoes and a home-made Yorkshire pudding. 3 vegetables plus mashed carrot/swede. My husband particularly enjoyed the crackling! We all cleaned up our plates and decided we would try pudding! Again, several home-made desserts on offer, plus a couple that were bought in (I love the honesty!). I had toffee lumpy bumpy cake (not home-made), the others had cheesecake and brownie, these were home-made and all puddings offered with the choice of cream or ice-cream. The bill came to £68 for 4 including drinks, and we shall definitely book again.

The Kings Head is a lovely pub in the center of a charming south Norfolk village. We have called here a few times in the past for a drink and a meal and always found everything to be satisfactory but our recent visit proved to be a bit of a let down. The service was very good as were our drinks but our meal of steak and Guinness pie with potatoes and peas proved to be very ordinary and not good value for money. I am sure that we can find better value in the area for our next visit.

We were the first customers to be seated when we arrived upon opening and my husband and I watched as other customers arrived and get seated. We watched as the server went to their tables first to take their orders whilst we sat there seemingly unnoticed. I decided not to say anything just to see what would happen and one of the lovely ladies who seated us came back from whatever she had been doing and asked if we had been served yet. I said no and she was straight on it. Fortunately all staff on shift were well organized and the barista got through the drinks orders like a champ so we didn't have to wait too long. I ordered an oat milk latte and tarragon mushrooms, my husband had the full fry up. Food was delicious and hot. I felt the pricing was a bit off between our two dishes. Mushrooms on toast with 2 poached eggs and a bit of spinach £12 yet my husband's big fry up also had toast, eggs, mushrooms but then had beans, tomato, bacon ,sausages, black pudding for £14. Not a complaint, more of an observation. When we went to pay, the cashier read out what we had ordered and said Almond milk latte. Good job I don't have a nut allergy! Overall a nice experience, delicious food, friendly staff, excellent chef. Will return.
