The Kings Head in Dover

Quaint little pub on the coast with good food. Accommodated us for an early dinner with no notice so quiet to begin with but picked up as the reserved clients started turning up. Parking a bit of a challenge but worth the effort.

Delicious food, cooked perfectly. Excellent service and was seen to very quickly, have attended two nights in a row and will definitely be back on the next visit.

It was very nice here. The food was delicious and I highly recommend the fish and chips as it was delicious. The atmosphere was very good and service was fast. Overall I highly recommend coming here.

'The Kings Head' is a rustic, cozy inn. There is a bar in the entrance area, and tables are placed in the rest of the guest room. There is also a small beer garden behind the building. The food was the best we've had in the area (Deal, Walmer and Kingsdown) at a fair price. Dogs are welcome here. When we were welcomed there was not only a bowl of water, but also a dog bone.

Great burgers and friendly service. Even went back the night after for a second visit.

Food is supposed to be excellent as we were told by other guests, on Monday there was no food available BUT we were allowed to order from various take away restaurants and they delivered the food to the pub. We got plates and cutlery from the pub and enjoyed our meal in the beer garden with a lovely pint of Guinness and Cider. The lady in the pub was so nice and helpful! Payment is possible with credit card. A group of very sweet musicians played traditional songs and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. It’s just a 10 minutes walk from the campsite and also very close to the beach.

Lovely bar with a skittles league game about to start but the landlady is a gem. I'd go back just to have a beer and a chat🙂

Unfortunately, places like this are rarely found in England anymore. A British freehouse as you imagine it. Very nice owners, good home-made food and the best ales I was able to try in my 3 week holiday in the UK. Even as a tourist you feel very welcome. A return visit is definitely planned for the next holiday on the “island”.

Great village pub in the heart of Kingsdown village. Good cask beers available, also quite a large selection of meals available including a specials board. Alex, Amanda & staff offer a very warm welcome.

Lovely pub with friendly staff & regulars! Not often you find a local pub with locals who are chatty, what a place! Enjoyed watching skittles match. Shame Zhitland Arms gets all the punters when this place is miles better!

First time being here while camping absolutely amazing. The second time they were fully booked but still made space for us to eat.

Brilliant to find a proper old school British pub. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, good selection of drinks on tap and an excellent atmosphere generally. Would highly recommend.

Called in for food, was told no tables due to quiz night, it was empty, we went down the road had a drink at the Zetland then went for food in the Rising sun, and walked back up the hill past this place and it was still empty, could it be they do not want campers in there on quizz night ? There loss we had several drinks two meals and two sweets so they lost our money and we will not visit again. They did not even try to accomodate us point blank No. We would of been happy to sit at the bar or in the tap room. Your reply just shows how you treat others, you obviously do not know what a snowflake is, you have simply heard the word and feel it makes you sound good. I did get what I wanted, I got a lovely meal and a cold beer and received great service, met some great locals just not in your place. The way you have taken my review you appear to be overly emotional and easily offended, Sounds like your Snow flake comment refers to you. If your kitchen staff could not cope with two extra covers you have a serious problem, I guess that must be your problem you can not cope with more than 5 covers.

The pub is located in the middle of the small town of Kingsdown - parking spaces at the entrance to the town. It's quaint, typically British with a separate pub and restaurant area - simple but warm! We always enjoy coming here!

My friends and I visited while we were roadtripping and camping through the UK per the recommendation of the campsite and we were so happy we did. The pub is everything I'd expect (as an American) of an old English pub. It was small, warm, welcoming, and had great beer. The owner even made us complimentary sandwiches at the end of the night while we were finishing up our last beers. We were by far the youngest people in the pub but we didn't feel out of place. Everyone was welcoming and even came over to talk to us. We didn't get a chance to try to the food because we came in late in the evening, but everything on their menu and in the reviews looks great as well. If I'm ever back in the area, I'd make this a must-visit. Cheers!

Lovely old traditional pub. We all loved the real ales and the food. The burgers (chilli cheese) were the best. Thanks for looking after us. Another visit. Sunday evening. Skittles match was on outside. Lovely beer garden. Absolutely buzzing inside and out - and again, great real ales. Barmaid was really welcoming and pleasant. And funny. Great night.

Very friendly welcoming staff. Rather limited menu with loads of burger variations, but I had delicious ribs. An easy walk from the holiday park, but hopeless for parking in the very narrow street.

Proper local. If you're looking for trendy. .head 60 miles north to London or 3 miles south... into the channel. It's run by a husband and wife... both normal people. . Very rare these days. Back again. Fine pint. Charming service Wonderfully normal! Great land lord and bar person.

Really nice pub. Staff and locals very friendly. Went in a few times over a long weekend. The welcome and service was excellent, Sunday lunch was very good, decent portions and good value. A real plus were the three local ales, tried them all, they were in great condition.

A lovely local pub in Kingsdown. Has traditional English charm offering a good array of larger and ales. Good selection of gins and wine too. Food was excellent especially the crumble dessert. Bar takes cash or card so no problem there. Parking could be an issue if you drive but walking or cycling and you'll be fine.

Lovely staff with a warm welcome and the food was excellent, will go back again. 😀

Had a couple of meals here over the past few weeks. Food is very good and sensibly priced, the staff are very friendly and efficient and the service is great.

Fantastic hospitality highly recommend to go and have a drink and nice food. We will be back soon.

It always amazes me when you walk into a 'free house' and see Carling on the bar; so the owner has actually 'chosen' to sell it - I'll never get over that. The pub is situated in the middle of Kingsdown village - a near chocolate box scene. We didn't eat here, but the Sunday Lunch looked really good. The beer garden was a bit like sitting in Steptoe's yard, but sort that out and you would have the quintessential English village pub.

Popped in for a Sunday roast from the local campsite. Great food, great service, would recommend

The Kings Head in Kingsdown is a great “proper pub”! Lovely staff and tasty food at a good price. A regular location for Sunday lunch. Had a mixed roast today and wasn’t disappointed. Highly recommended!!

Una comunidad muy muy muy inglesa, de encanto, con mucha historia que contar, buena cerveza, buena comida y espectacular el dia del quizz o el squeetel, puedes competir con los lugareños, a una partida a los dardos, pero sin duda lo mejor son las personas que hacen de Kings Head un lugar entrañable.

We had a warm welcome when visiting this quaint village pub. The food choices were great, particularly if you love your roast meats. The place was buzzing with friendly chatter. We were served quickly, with a beautiful hot meal and accompanying sauces. We shall return.

Loved this place, full of character and characters. Quirky low level bar means you can sit at the bar on normal stools. History of the building is celebrated.

Need to get a plate warmer! Cold plates not good. Probably does not affect individual meals though. On the whole a nice pub to visit and good place to eat.

Very friendly staff! Me and my boyfriend tried a new cider (see picture) and it was really tasty (sweet but not too sweet). I tried the scampis, it was fried and very nice. The scampis were served with chips and a fresh side salad. The place looks really cute. The dessert was amazing! I had a Belgium Waffle topped with ice cream. The waffle was served warm and tasted amazing with the ice cream.

I have been camping at Kingsdown for years and always drop in. It's a cosy pub with a friendly atmosphere. Great staff and the food is always amazing. This visit our group each ordered something different from the menu and we all had food envy as every plate looked delicious. Don't bother with the sea front places. This is a small walk away from the beach and far better overall. See you again soon!
