rude staff serving drunks who have had to much and shouting unfriendly stuff at each other. tables sticky as I watch them wipe one down with just a dirty cloth no water

Pleasantly surprised. Very good value for money. Great selection of drinks. With special offers not only on drinks but also food. Welcoming staff. Clean.

It was ok. To improve, need to alter the people who sit there drinking all day every day, by replacing the high tables at the front either with lower tables or coffee tables and sofas. Currently have a group of drinks loudmouthed and aggressive dominating the front half of the pub. Wouldn't go back for a special occasion as they sort of spoilt my mum's birthday, taking the p out of my hat Also the pancakes from the kitchen were cold, though this is an easy fix. Good value for money on food and drinks. Staff were friendly and talkative.

I didnt fancy cooking after working a 57 hour week this week so thought I would come down to my local wetherspoons for a bite to eat before going to work. My first time in 5 months after a bad food experience back in September with breakfast here. Anyway the food has NOT improved. Ive never heard of a BBQ burger with the BBQ sauce half full in a tiny rammikin on the side... isnt it suppose to enhance the flavour? If i wanted a grilled chicken burger with cheese and bacon i would have ordered that. Chicken how many times has that been reheated it is as dry as the sahara desert with the sides burnt off and inedible. The chips. Well id say the oil in my fryer at home is fresher and i havent used it in over a month because forget the color but the taste just yuck. The onion rings were the same when I sent them back I got a portion which were decent (only reason this is 2* and not 1*). Staff on training and manager on duty well if she isnt hungover id be stunned. Her lack of awareness and no effort in training the new staff. I see why the pub has gone downhill. And of course. Any check back to see how my food is? Nope!! Wouldnt think this is a customer service industry based company based on this experience Will I revisit. NO WAY!!!

BAD! Manager, Has not got clue on how to deal with the Public, Some RUDE & LAZY Staff & if you complain about issues then you are BARRED!, Kitchen looks Very suspect & certain Kitchen staff do not not Wash their Hands after going to the Toilet, Will not be using this pub again & would not recommend

Absolutely love coming to this place, bar staff are brilliant, Ashley the manager is the best manager the ford has ever had , the food is spot on it’s just a good atmosphere, well done to all the staff especially at these testing times with Covid-19, your always welcoming and friendly, this is why we always come back

Very poor visit to a normally great pub The food we had was undercooked & cold The cocktail pitchers we were served were all 80% ice cubes & hardly any drink The staff were very rude & arrogant & we were asked to leave the premises because we made a small amount of noise even though there was other drunk drinkers in the pub making a lot more noise than we were So obviously the staff have there favourites We will not be visiting this pub again & will also tell all our other friends & families not to visit either!!!

Every time I come here I’m always happy with the food. It’s tasty and you get good portions. The service is friendly and efficient. It has a good atmosphere and I’m never disappointed.

The food is what you expect for a Spoons, excellent value, plus a cup of coffee as well. However, the Kings Ford is looking very tired and in desperate need of a makeover. The staff did their jobs well, but there are lots of better Spoons around.

Call in few times each week to meet friends and have a couple of drinks. Unfortunately it's looking a bit tired. In saying that the prices of food and drinks can't be betten. So if it shut for refurbishment lots of locals will be disappointed.

I frequently use the kings ford, and I’m disappointed to say eating here is very hit and miss. Tonight was a miss Had a mix grill, but it was very average, the whole meal was Luke warm, the meat , even though I asked at ordering well done. Wasn’t I know this meal like so many others is cheap, but because it’s cheap it should still be of a certain level. Would have given 2 and a 1/2. Have visited as customer and also worked here. Plus sides: Value for money, fair menu, convenient. Negatives: Male dominated. Some men actually stand outside blatantly leering at women. Seems to attract some 'rough' elements and people who drink A LOT. Could do with restructuring so it's not just one big drinking hall.

This pub is DIRE it needs a complete overhaul it is not very clean the men's toilets are discustting the bar service is probably the poorest level I have come across, all in all a dump. Not just one night, but for a long time.

I just got today's special, spaghetti Bolognese. Couldn't find it on a plate. I got something equally disappointing in a tourist spot in Rome. All my previous visits were great and burgers delicious. Not going back in a while

Nice pub, very quiet. Needs a lot of work. Food was average but the staff were lovely. Just your average joe place.

The pub is dim and dark. Why are all the other Weatherspoons pubs so much better? They often run out of the ale. Regarding decor, it is awful. Horrible old green covered chairs, like being in a nursing home. The wallpaper has been peeling from the ceiling for years! As somebody said, lots of pubs int he area have had a makeover, including Old Hall Tavern. This is by far the worst pub in Chingford. They have changed the pictures around, that's all. They have not filled the old holes. Toilets often dirty with no paper. The seats are very dubious and stained. Come on Tim, close it down and spend some money on it

When I visit Chingford (4 0r 5 times a year) this pub is my local....unfortunately. today when I walked in there was an awful smell?? The staff would stop serving tove a conversation with each other so ending with a waiting time to be served far longer than necessary. I am waiting for an opportunity to speak to the duty manager in person although timing this is almost impossible as they are hardly ever there. No one actually seems to be in charge...

Not a great pub for a Wetherspoon pub when other Wetherspoons pubs out of the area are all proper refurbished. This pub smells of old piss ! Drinks seem to be out of date ! Even saying they are cheap ! Staff seem to be moody don’t want to be there there managers are just young kids can’t be over the age of 21 years old The place need to be refurbished but Wetherspoon does not seem to care because people in chingford mount don’t have anywhere else to go And they jd wetherspoons know that !

I am a big fan of Wetherspoon Pubs and I visited the Kings Ford today I was completely shocked as this place certainly didn’t come up to Wetherspoon Standard, it was awful, there were 3 of us ordering a lunch after waiting 40 minutes our lunch arrived at the table my sister had ordered a Cheese Pannini and it was just bread with no Cheese inside.

I live locally to this place so over the year's I pop in from time to time.

Although the food is OK and cheapish and the vegetarian breakfast VGFM the current manager(s) have let the place go to pot. Dirty uncleared tables, no menu's on tables, surly bored staff but as I said the food is cheap and cheerful.

Great selection of typical pub fare and a few no so typical-Haloumi Fries!, salads, pastas etc. Most nights there’s a special menu with even better value; Steak, Curry night, 2 for 1. Very quick service even using the Weatherspoon App, I guess they have sufficient staff on

I visited the kings ford with my family we had returned from holiday and needed a meal and drinks.

Until last Xmas no probs one of Spoons earliest pubs thus really in need of a bit of refurb toilet areas,however they have really let themselves down with their real ales,poor cellar work,there was a good manager (Ash?)since then it's lucky dip for ales which was one of its strong points.Staff turnover?is it used as a training pub?ps I agree that the abuse of the disabled loos ,plenty people fit enough to walk upstairs for a piss(probably do them good)!

I always speak so highly of weatherspoons pub but not this one! The food was abysmal I had a panini that looked like it had been in an accident. The chips was awful felt like they had use old rotten oil. On a positive note the best thing was my J2O which you can’t really get wrong . The chef needs to be retained because a 10 year old can dish up a better meal and present it much better!!

The King's Ford in Chingford is a stereotypical cheap pub, with cheap drinks but an interior to match. This pub is not near a tube or overground station although it isn't worth travelling for.

It's a disgrace!!! came in the king for a pint for ST GEORGE'S day no flags!! On St Patrick's day full of them . This is England !! come on !! What is going on !!!

Oh dear. Some weeks since we were last here but no improvement. Staff still seem to be running place for their own social benefit and customers come a poor second. A real shame.

A pleasant drink and snack on Mother's Day. Pub was quite busy but we found a seat. Bottle of Prosecco only £8 so good value but was offered 3 glasses suitable for red wine till we queried it and were given more suitable glasses ( staff training maybe needed ).

Called in to meet friends. Out off 5 of us only 1 got there first choice drink. No Abbott no doombar no Guinness no carling. Since this new manager has taken over its a common accurance. I was lucky to get my first choice drink, which Is a bit of luck normally that's not available. Staff not interested and this was a Saturday night. Spoke to a couple of them and they were doing 10 and half hour shift. It's a shame as it's a very busy pub. But at the end of the day the manager is responsible for running the pub, unfortunately this lady has not a clue.

Visited the King's Ford for a cheap birthday meal. I have been here several times before, and the food has always been very good. This visit was no exception. Probably one of the better Wetherspoons in the area, but the bar staff do not seem interested in serving. One member of staff walked away from me to join her colleagues at the end of the bar for a natter. Customer service skills 0/10. Such a shame, as it wouldn't take much effort to make this place into a really good boozer.

Kings Ford is the usual Wetherspoons offering but for some reason this one is dingy, dirty and the bar service is hopeless. Can't see why, it used to be fine but just 2 staff serving on a Saturday doesn't work.

been going there for the last few years, but recently when popping in after work for a couple of drinks, the tables are always full of empty glasses and the tables are sticky and filthy, last time we went was xmas eve lunch time, tables filthy again, asked politely if they could be cleaned and reply was ok, no-one came and 4 people behind the bar just chatting, place was near empty so no - excuse, seems like the staff would rather chat than clean,

It's a Wetherspoons so obviously the food is cheap (non-London prices, even) and the same as every other Wetherspoons in the country. On the day of our visit the menu was reduced due to supplier issues but still the same Spoons quality and value. Real ale is kept to a good standard.

I only seem to turn up in this pub occasionally but its reliable, economical and surrounded by the best (cheapest) shopping in Chingford. V near to transport hub

The King's Ford is one of the Weatherspoon chain of gastro pubs, which is deservedly the fastest growing pub chain in the UK. Why? Excellent, freshly cooked, calorie counted, reasonably priced international grub, and an extensive range of inexpensive and delicious artisan beers and ciders. My only criticism of this particular pub is that it has of late become somewhat run down because it attracts the worst of the heavy drinking East London English yobs. It is because of people like them that I am moving abroad, to a country seldom visited by the British. C'est la vie.

I've scored this as very good as the food was lovely. Doombar pie and gourmet burger. Both were cooked well no complaints. Got food quick too. Only downside the waitress cane over to clean dirty table and without warning sprayed liquid all over. I grabbed a large menu to cover my clothes but no apology from her. Never said a word. When she left the table was very wet. So used the menus to lean on as didn't want cleaning stuff on clothes. Shame as was good experience otherwise

This is a Weatherspoon pub. It's very spacious inside. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food is nice and reasonably priced. Great for wine too. Not expensive at all. Overall good place to go.

Ultimate burger with glass of wine cannot go wrong !! 6.75 Good friendly crowd of people from the area

Had a very pleasant afternoon at this establishment,We ordered two main meals for £7.99,and two Deserts for £5,The Steak & Kidney Pud I had was simply devine,Followed by a Bramley Apple Crumble with two scoops of vanilla ice cream that was to die for,it was oh so very nice,and this was all washed down by the most reasonably priced Pint of Guinness I have Bought at only £2.19....Yes,£2.19,That is Mondays only,The rest of the week its £3.19 which is still great value.

We gave my Aunt a choice of where she would like to go for an evening meal and this is the very place of choice, no fancy sauces, no over priced beverages just good wholesome honestly cooked food. We had all chosen the Fish and Chips but by the time we got there the fish was gone and we were invited to choose something else, I had the mixed grill, my finacee chose the Gammon steak and my Aunt chose the Sirloin. The food was excellent, the portions very good and none of us could fault the service. The young man who tended to us was superb and a few times checked to see if everything was satisfactory. For me this was the second occasion I had eaten here and on neither occasion was I disappointed. The bar staff were quick to serve despite a busy Friday night. It made for us a very pleasant experience and we were lucky to get a table as we went relatively early (around 7 pm). On my next visit to London I will certainly make sure this is a certain destination, thank you to all the staff and well done.

It's a measure of a pub's popularity if it's so busy on a midweek night to the extent that virtually every table was full - despite this I was served promptly at the bar, selected a beer from the wide range available and ordered my food, which was enjoyable, good value and speedily delivered to my table. The pub is unremarkable by the standards of some Spoons houses but has large sliding doors that were opened to accommodate a warm autumn evening - a real plus point in the summer I should imagine - if you can get one of the few tables outside... and don't mind the view being Chingford Mount Road.

Ok but bit dark inside. Toilets upstairs so bit of nuisance. Can be quite a noisy pun during the day. Coffee good and staff pleasant

I come to the Ford on a regular basis. We ordered some drinks and found ourself a table, it was busy but not from people ordering food just drinking.

At first impressions this wetherspoons was nothing special from the front it had its usual crowd of old gentlemen puffing away on there cigarettes. After walking through the smoke and feeling like I've just walked into stage on the game show stars in their eyes this pub was pleasant. The staff are friendly in fact very friendly and my salad came out beautifully presented instead of the usual thrown in a bowl attire wetherspoons usually go for. I would say one thing wetherspoons please spend some money modernising this place particularly the toilets, it deserves it!

This Wetherspoons pub in Chingford is great for food and a pint. Their steaks and mixed grills are tasty and fresh. It can get quite busy in the evening, but the atmosphere is great.

Had a Traditional English Breakfast for £2.99 plus large filter Coffee with a free refill for .95P at 8 am on Friday morning. It is a fantastic value for money deal with very friendly and quick service and no wonder why people are waiting for the door to open. Very clean and spacious toilets

Despite living 170 miles away, the Kings ford is my local. I left London over 20 years ago but I still have friends in the area and this is our watering hole of choice. A typical wetherspoons but an amazing, friendly homely atmosphere within these walls. All of the staff are warm, friendly and dedicated to customer service. Even down to friends almost! A proper local where the locals are known and remembered for their tipple.

not a bad wetherspoons pub. Can be a bit dark especially at back of pub. Also shame the toilets are upstairs. Only criticism is would be nice if staff would tell some of the louder customers to refrain from bad language. As its not nice hearing it when your quite a few seats away from them

I was recently lucky enough to be treated to a meal here which was absolutely out-of-this-world. It wasn't fancy and it wasn't high-end, but it was incredibly delicious, hearty fare that fills you up and leaves you licking your lips (and fingers). The steak in the cheesesteak was juicy and full-flavoured and the cheesy bit had me wishing I could take a bottle home with me. All topped-of with some of the crispiest, tastiest onion rings I've ever had anywhere. An outstanding meal served by staff who were friendly and attentive. Wetherspoons have a real winner with this dish and this pub - can't wait to go back there.

We went here for Mother's Day. Not my choice but the mother in law wanted to go.

the food in the kings ford is really nice and the drinks are exceptionally cheap, i would come for a meal during the day but at night and weekends i would avoid. The local kids come here for a cheap drink or 2 and there is usually trouble. The pub has however got a bit better as change of staff but under age drinkers are still being served. The pub needs a major over haul as its dark and dingy and very out dated. It does get extremely busy on a friday night but dead on a saturday. Nice staff its just the people that drink in here that let the pub down im afraid.

Wetherspoons is value for money. If you're looking for some simple food, no frills and not too costly then Kings Ford is ok... It's definitely not somewhere to go for a date but as a quick and easy choice when hungry it's fine

I live just round the corner from this J D Weatherspoon pub, so I know it well. It is used by a cross section of ages. You will also find serious drinkers and youngsters looking for a cheap drink.
