The Kings in Exeter

After a brilliant night with friends we went for kareoke to continue having fun. Unfortunately the bar man was so rude to me I had to leave when I asked if he could put a song on with his answer being it is my pub don’t tell me what to do. I went back to say to him you made me feel horrible when you spoke to me like that his answer was tough. He ensured my night ended on low I do not spend my money to be spoken to like that awful way for bar staff to speak to people obviously do not care about customers I will not return.

Waited over half an hour for a meal that frankly was very underdone apart from potatoes that were a tad burnt Seems to have lots it’s way has the Kings

Nice roast. Dinner with all the trimmings Lamb melted in my mouth Washed down with A bottle of house new Zealand red wine

Breakfast was Luke warm and I had a long wait will not eat here again Toilets and carpet dirty need wash

Didn’t really want a Roast so opted for the Eggs surprise sadly a big disappointment Little wonder pubs are closing so fast The food was awful

Went in for breakfast sadly not very good Carpet on floor was dirty and my bacon was white The pub was empty and I can see why Need more effort guys and a deep clean

No coffee only tea. Carpet was black the toilets were disgusting used to be a good pub but it has gone down hill sad as used to be a nice pub.

10/10 for good food they say you get what you pay for and this is a gem. Foods piping hot and very nice quality always fresh and plentiful. Service with a smile definitely worth a visit or two. Very nice clean and tidy place.

Good old fashioned greasy English breakfast you get to choose what you want i went for the lot absolutly delecious will defintly be back filled me right up

Highly recommend by a friend of ours and kept saying we would go. Eventually myself and daughter went for the fry up. You decide what you want as the menu offers individual items and cost. This made it very easy to pick exactly what we wanted each rather than have to add or remove items from set menus. The food was amazing and very hot and high quality produce. The atmosphere was good for a public house. Plenty of parking out the back of the building.massive points to the chef great food and will return.

Had a wonderful afternoon in the Kings delicious Dinner followed by a few pints of cider chatting to the very friendly Landlord Chris Can recommend the Kings

It's a bit like the Faulty Towers of pubs. Rudest landlord imaginable who treats customers like something he stepped in. Seems hugely put out and annoyed by serving customers and doing his job. Lost my coat at the pub and asked the landlord repeatedly if he'd seen it but he hadn't and refused to let me look as though he thought searching for a coat was a criminal offense. Called the next day and it turned out my coat was there (probably would have found it sooner if he hadn't kicked me out of the pub the night before for looking for it) and when I went to pick it up he boomed out a hearty "don't come back anytime soon" which I gladly agreed to because I had no intention of returning anyway. My advise is for people to steer well clear of this pub. It's one of those local pubs for local people and if you're a new face they treat you like dirt.

Went in Sunday for the build your own roast as I was sat down in the tent enjoying a beer I was. Told I couldn’t. Have a roast as I hadn’t prebooked So I ended up not having the roast dinner that was advertised on the Bill board outside Hungry and furious

Huge burger with a side salad and a plate of chips washed down with an ice cold glass of beer Very nice afternoon.

Drinks were taken at the Kings arms Very enjoyable Saturday organised to perfection With expert service hopefully this will be my regular and local tavern Well done everybody

Saturday morning here for a fry up Very nice it was you got to pick your own Which was good as I don’t like tomatoes 🍅 Only stayed an hour but good pint and food

Treated like cattle Not a very organised pub will not be back would not let me say hello to my. friend who is in my social bubble.

Thank you Chris the manager for a delicious Sunday roast dinner Kings is Amazing as you pick each in visual item You get your standard choice of meet or substitute meet if you is a vegan or vegetarian I had topside of beef with 5 roast potatoes No Yorkshire puddings as I don’t like them they repeat on me Peas and carrots with a large parsnip and runner beans also had a portion of stuffing And some French Mustard but no mint sauce as I am a traditionalist and would only have mint sauce on lamb.I had to pre book as on sundays the Kings gets rather busy Well worth giving them a try I’m glad I did It’s literally a stones throw from ST Thomas Station In the heart of Cowick st

Had a delicious box of sweets treats including cakes, brownies, scones, and buns. The whole family enjoyed them and were as good if not better than other delivered cakes that are twice the price. Would recommend to anyone local

Disappointed as had cake and it was bland and had no filling and tasted stale If you going to sell cake make it fresh.

First time here for a Sunday Roast and I was really impressed especially as you build your own and only pay for what you order. Friendly helpful staff. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back in the near future.

Bought a bacon roll from the Girl at the serving hatch As I walked past I could smell the delicious bacon cooking. When I got home I unwrapped my Roll and the bacon was Burnt 🥵 Wish I’d not bothered.

First time here and won't be the last. Dad and I both had the liver and bacon, with mash and seasonal vegetables. Home cooked and was very tasty. Friendly helpful staff, especially Paul. Would highly recommend and will be back in the near future, when next visiting my Dad.

Really nice Sunday Roast my daughter treated me And my Boyfriend to dinner had the Vegan option Nutmeg absolutely delicious The carrots were so tender they melted in the mouth Steve had Roast beef with all the trimmings going to make this a regular occurrence.

Even during Covid this is one of the best and most reasonable breakfast in Exeter. Great friendly service and awesome food.

we waited for about 5 minute for someone, to seat us, as sign on entrance, told us to wait to be seated, so i found table we had reserved. they brought out one meal wrong, no apology, food not as good as used to be, very limited soft drink option, not good image doing ironing in pub area. had to go bar to pay, as number of staff did not bring bill to table, even though it was cleared by a member of staff

Heineken was flat landlady reluctantly replaced it At least the Landlord apologised Nice breakfast but toilets disgusting Verdict food good beer bad not mention toilets

Went in for a quick half with Josie my daughter as I needed to use the toilet as Exeter Council closed the toilets under St Thomas train station The half of cider was nice but toilet paper in the ladies was rough and not soft Not many people on the pub but barmaid was pleasant

The smell coming from the pop up barbecue stand is amazing and enticed me to stop and buy a cheeseburger which was very tasty. Will definitely stop by here again. Very friendly chap serving.

Went to the kings temporary breakfast stand this morning and I've gotta say the barbecued bacon bap was exceptional, good quality ingredients and very tasty, topped off by the fact the serving lady was incredibly bubbly and polite, good food great service, highly recommend 5 stars

Went in the Kings Arms in Cowick St for a Breakfast it was brilliant you order whatever you like It was quick cheap and delecious and the barmaid Debbie was very friendly pub had a nice local feel to it as well I highly recommend also special mention to the landlady for helping me look and finding my Glasses thank you

He estado aquí dos veces un domingo para ver una banda que conozco. ¡Ambas veces he estado solo y lo he pasado muy bien! Es un pub adecuado en el extremo inferior de la ciudad. El personal del bar y los lugareños son muy amables. Algunos de ellos incluso me arrastraron para bailar, ya que podían ver que estaba solo. Tienen música en vivo todos los domingos, creo. Este pub fue anfitrión de THE VINYL AVENGERS, solo reproducen discos de vinilo de la época, Motown, Northern soul, Ska. Nos alojamos en un hotel calle arriba y pasamos una velada encantadora en este pub con amigos, encontramos a todo el personal muy amable y también a los lugareños que se mezclaban y bailaban con la música, era un gran ambiente. No comimos aquí pero vimos la comida y se veía preciosa. El lugar estaba lleno de gente feliz, gran noche.

Having been recommended to The Kings by family we decided to try it for breakfast. We were so glad that we did, it was superb freshly cooked and piping hot. The couple that run it were extremely welcoming and helpful. Well worth a visit.

Best breakfast in exeter bar none, bacon eggs hash browns and the fried bread is sooooo good. sausages are perfect and the service is top class.

My wife and I have been to The Kings several times recently for Breakfast and have always found the food excellent and all freshly cooked (Arguably the best breakfast in Exeter ?). (Sometimes, when busy you may have to wait 15 - 20 mins, but worth it!)

Popped in yesterday for the Build you own Roast. Great food and great staff and not only a perfect roast but a lovely build our own breakfast too. Cheap prices and a great atmosphere, would definitely recommend.

Went in to Exeter for a gig at the Kings And what a great night. Lovely crowd and plenty of great music. Definitely go there again, and will try the food and report back!

No he estado aquí por un tiempo, así que me sorprendió la nueva decoración edificante, y ahora elijo tu propio menú de desayuno, a solo 65 p por artículo, lo que no me gustó, la comida como siempre fue excelente, todas de origen local y fresco, servicio de primera clase como siempre, sin duda volveremos para otra visita pronto.

Vinimos aquí para nuestro "amigos" de Navidad Comida anoche y tengo que decir que la comida era sencillamente perfecto, no me puedo quejar en absoluto, el ambiente era genial y el personal es muy amable, todos los 11 de nosotros en la comida anoche tienen todas dijo que la comida era increíble, gran noche y deseando que las noches que conducen a la Navidad y el Año Nuevo allí! Situated opposite the Exebridge retail park in Exeter this pub is well placed for a break from your shopping trip.I regularly visit on a Saturday morning for a breakfast, in my opinion it's one of the best in the city in terms of quality & price.I have never been dissatisfied.The staff are very helpful & there always seems to be something going on, either live music or other typical pub events.I can also recommend the special deals such as Mothers Day & Fathers Day.Well worth a visit.

Visited with a friend on a Friday evening when it was quiet. Good range of the usual beer Fosters Guinness Thatchers Carling. One ale called Bob which is alright nothing super weighing in at 4 per cent and £3.55. Has live bands and karaoke most evenings

absolutely superb all day breakfasts for all appetites, we only had the small breakfast but came out fully stuffed, 1 large sausage, 1 large piece of bacon, fried egg, mushrooms, beans and fried potato, with a piece of toast, all cooked to order, waiting time was minimal, and service was excellent. If you're in St Thomas, or indeed Exeter as The Kings Arms is right beside St Thomas Railway Station, it's well worth a visit for a hearty breakfast, other meals are also available from lunch time
