Costa Coffee in Exeter

The food is nice but it has got expensive

Long que for drinks unfortunately. Drinks were standard for Costa. Few seats available inside so we sat outside

Burnt milk, far too hot, burned my mouth. Need to be more cautious

A busy costa.usually a queue. service quite quick though. Food OK.. Parking good.

Don’t go went for a coffee and had a £60 fine apparently there’s a time limit even though l had coffee and food. These places letting these private car parks take over is a rip off they will lose customer!

Good chai latte but I wish it was hotter

Always busy , and if you are lucky to find a table still has previous customers empty cups and mess on it . Like many other customers, have to clear yourself and ask for cleaning cloths etc

Came in with my grandma over Xmas for tea and a sandwich staff were all really nice, Usually get a take away mocha and some food always good service and one lad (can’t remember name but he will know who he is) seems to remember me and makes sure my order is always done quickly great service! Lovely store

Very busy ! However the service was really great. In fact I ordered the wrong thing and it was no trouble at all to them to change it last minute. Easy parking outside and a free drink with my Costa card today ! ....happy !

Mid morning 16th October and we visited this branch of Costa. We found a place to sit which we had to clear ourselves before we could us it. All around there were tables that were stacked with dirty cups, plates, cutlery and trays waiting to be cleared in. One we secured the seating, one of us remained seated while the other went to the counter to be served. Although there were four members of staff, including the manager, behind the counter, it was absolute chaos. There was one member of staff preparing drinks whilst the others piled more orders in front of her. It took over ten minutes to get served, were getting close to the point of walking out. Eventually our two flat whites, £3.50 each were ready. In fairness they were well made and flavoursome, the rest was a shambles. As we left the tables still remained unclean and uncleared.

Mediocre expensive coffee, for a company that specialises in coffee they are poor. Always tastes watery and weak. It gives me no pleasure to leave a poor review but it's always the same, usually the only reason I have a Costa is opportunity. Food was reasonable though.

This is a modern, fairly big Costa. The cafe is airy and clean. There are benches and tables outside which is very pleasant when the sun's out. Pity it's alongside a large car park for the shopping centre.

Tuesday 13th June and we visited here for lunch. A bright modern purpose built outlet in Rydon Lane Retail Park. There was outside seating available in the glorious sunshine, however we chose to sit inside in the cooler atmosphere. We selected our food from a well stocked fridge, we chose a ham & coleslaw sandwich £3.50 and a BLT sandwich £4.95, from the Marks and Spencer range. Took the food to the counter to order our drinks and to pay.We ordered  two flat whites which were £3.35 each. One of the coffees was free thanks to sufficient number of reward points The member of staff that served us, Ellie, was both friendly and helpful, she provided us with plates and cutlery for the food and also sorted out the free coffee, all done in a chirpy and polite manner. Flavoursome coffee, tasty fresh sandwiches with friendly helpful staff all in clean well maintained surroundings, can't go wrong.

We did the order what the people in front had challenge and they was absolutely great with it and the staff was really friendly.

Staff not very friendly. Had to ask to have table wiped. Slow service as not enough staff. Toilets dirty and no toilet roll. Empty hand sanitiser by entrance door. Cinnamon roll dry. Coffee was lovely though

Would NOT recommend wasting your money here…staff are useless and ignorant, received my coffee, may as-well have ordered a cup of milk, didn’t bother taking it back as they take about half an hour to make one small coffee…

Back Again for another couple of lovely Coffees..☕☕. Didn't have anything to eat 🍴🥪 this time. As always the staff were very friendly and professional. Until next time.👍👍

Always use Costa if I'm out and about. Coffee is really good. Staff are always great.

The staff are absolutely lovely. I go there every day and the coffee's consistently good, they're very welcoming and recognise their regular customers.

Had the salted caramel iced drink with fresh cream topping and caramel crunch sprinkles. It was really nice and very well needed after a heavy day of removals.I also have a cheese and tomato toastie which was piping hot and satisfied my hunger. A clean store and soon to be a local store soon so I am very happy that the staff were lovely and efficient.

I came in today with a lady I support. She is in a wheelchair. Often when we go out I need to get the order done, get her to a table, move around some chairs and then go back for the order. The server at Costa offered to bring over our drinks and then she moved a chair out the way so I could maneuver the wheelchair in place. It's not a huge thing, but it makes all the difference after a long hot day of hauling the wheelchair in and out of cars and struggling to move around tight spaces. Things make the difference and after working in the service industry for 15 years it's those kinds of things I pay attention to as a customer. Small acts of service go a long way. Especially on a hot day!

I wanted Brown toast as always but as normal they had run out of Bread. Not a good show from a large Coffee shop chain. However my Flat white was good and the staff were fine.

Whilst out walking my dog stopped at Costa Coffee at EXE Vale My coffee as always was exceptional and served perfectly The staff were all pleasant and helpful This remains my favourite Costa Thank you

We visited this costa today and were told they had no tables available and would we be happy with take away. We had hoped to eat in but can understand the restrictions with capacity due to the current pandemic. We Ordered our drinks to take away and decided to leave the food due to this, I paid whilst my mum used the facilities, when She came back I took my baby to use the facilities whilst my mum waited with the drinks. Since we had just been told they were full I didn’t then expect to find a family of 4 offered a table and a couple who clearly knew the staff. As I left I mentioned this to the staff member who then lied and said the family had been waiting, my mum had been stood there listening when both tables entered, at least if you going to lie be good at it. My complaint was met with a rude bad mannered response and leaves me to add these staff should not be dealing with customers and maybe stockroom jobs would be better. Manners cost nothing and liars are bad for business. What a dreadful experience and using covid as an excuse is disgusting. Shame on you!! People have been very poorly/lost lives/family and you are using this to avoid being caught up in your own lies. I will be leaving this review on other platforms, and hopefully if it means one person avoids this establishment then that is helpful. YOU HAVE GIVEN COSTA A BAD NAME AND BEEN CAUGHT OUT LYING IN A TIME WHEN PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO HELP BUSINESSES. SHAME ON YOU!

Visit this Costa a couple of times a week or more . Excellent consistent product every time , very friendly personable staff . I appreciate the facility is relatively new but is always clean and tidy and tables cleared and cleaned which is not always the case in others .

About as much as you'd expect from a Costa. It's handy in the car park if you're doing a bit of shopping, and there are some good shops and a Tesco within walking distance.

This coffee shop is perfectly placed for a grab and go coffee which we did on this particular day after buying new trainers, the coffee was made extra hot exactly how I like it and the staff as normal were very friendly and helpful.

Me and my husband stopped here on a Saturday morning whilst our car was in for a service,we initially went for coffee but then ordered a round of toast each ( I had marmalade) the coffee was great as always from costa and the toast? Well it was lovely,huge slices of bread and plenty of butter to go around,will take advantage of the breakfast menu again for sure,staff lovely and friendly and always make good coffee in this costa.

Stopped off for a hit chocolate in the Costa up on the Rydon retail park in Exeter today. Nice place, ample parking and great hot chocolate. Good staff and was able to sit outside in the sunshine too.

Me and the Mrs. visited and we possibly won't go back I had a latte which was fine and she had the hot chocolate with cream which when it was done looked nice but that soon changed as the Mrs had a spoonful of cream of the top she told me it tasted off so I tried it and yes it was disgusting and tasted funny I took it back and they apologised and said "it not the first to be returned because of the cream " now that comment should not have been said to a customer and if they knew there was an issue with the cream either remove the batch or check the dates or better still remove completely from sale so poor standards from staff so will go back too the Costa in Marsh Barton which never have had any trouble with .

Staff always great. However, on occasion have had to takeaway as there were no tables free over the lunch hour.

been to costa many times on a daily basis, first time the person behind the till, who was the manager, turned away everytime I said my order. so I had to repeat my order at least 3 times before he listened. to top that off he got my orders wrong. he was very rude and dismissive! will never go there again!!

I called into this costa today while waiting for my dog. I must say it was so clean and Christmas carols going and the staff in great spirits!! The man behind the till with his Christmas t shirt on was dancing and singing and what was nice was to see all the customers coming in with smiles on there faces. I’m sure the guy was a manager of some sort his top was a deep red colour. Well done team you are great the two guys out front this morning at 9:25 was great together. Thank you for making me smile on the 2/12/18 high five to you all but I think this is all down to great management give your self a pat on the back x this guy in the photo is who I’m on about with that great spirit x

It was Saturday morning, September 22nd 2018, raining like a newly-plumbed shower, queues too long to be decent and every table full. But the staff were in great spirits, no one was flustered, everyone was polite and did they fly. That's how good baristas should do their job - expertly and with finesse. So efficient that when my turn came, I was through like a football turnstile and there was already a free table. It was cleared before I even got to my chair. Full credit to them all. What a team!

Indeed, I can say that my years of experience within the Hotel & Service Industries as well as retail, in France, the USA and UK the past twenty years in all, makes me a holistically balanced judge when giving an opinion. That place is clean, smooth, and the staff is just out of this world! Very knowledgeable and also extremely cool under pressure. Yes, a coffee chain can feel like a "family diner" atmosphere with a touch of inner class! if you want to stop time and make a golden pause café memorable, stop there! Merci folks!

We stopped off for a mango & passionfruit cooler to be greeted by friendly staff with very little waiting time. The restaurant is clean with lots of food on offer. Facilities clean too. Will return

I go here when I have to take my rabbit to the vets on the same retail park. Just wish Costa would do a few more gluten free snacks i.e. sandwich as I don't always want just a cake.

Visit here at least 4 times a week just love the coffee the staff are great seating outside is always kept clean inside is very clean great selection of cake 5/5

Had the worst breakfast at costa in tesco digby Exeter , cheap nasty tasting sausage , tinned tomatoes floating and hard fried egg . Yuk!
