The Kimchi in Norwich

The quality of the furnishings in this establishment are not the best, think plastic outdoor furniture or wooden. However, That aside, the FOOD IS PHENOMINAL. I would highly reccomend this gastronomical expereince to anyone wanting to dive into some really lovely korean food!

The food and the service were awesome for the 3rd time in a row. A booking here is always something to really look forward to.

I’ve been meaning to try The Kimchi for a number of years… tucked away off of Gentleman’s Walk in Norwich City centre it’s quite easily missed unless you’re a Norwich pro. I dined out as a party of 1 during the middle of lunch rush hour, I didn’t think to book as I was a solo hero however it appeared when I ascended the steep stairs to brothy heaven it would have been advisable to call / book ahead as it appears TKC gets a little busy. The vibe is laid back, no pretension here, and though cosy the site lends itself to spacious tables so you don’t sit on top of other diners which is so often the case in South Korean themed restaurants in London etc. I like that as I dislike hearing other conversations when I’m eating. The waiter made space for me luckily and I was seen to with haste. I order the chicken noodle soup which was absolutely on point; the chicken was tender and delicious, the broth well balanced - not too spicy but enough to keep my tummy pleasured on a fairly chill early Spring day. The perfect ratio of broth and noodles also made sure I was satisfied when finished. Absolutely delicious from the first spoonful to the last. From what I could ascertain the SK chicken was the main draw of TKC as many a patron was indulging in the star dish of the menu but, as I say, it was chill Spring day and I needed some warm liquid to see me through, though I would add the chicky fried looked equally as delicious. The service was on point and attentive, the food superb. The atmosphere busy but vibey and generally I felt it was visit I shouldn’t have put off for as long as I did! SK food seems to be on trend at the moment but TKC has been around for a while. Others will come and go but if they keep up the standard I experience today TKC will be here for a long, long time! Hats off to y’all TKC ✌🏻

Tasty and affordable food, pleasant staff and cosy ambience, what more can one ask for? One of my personal favourites to dine in Norwich.

Amazing Korean food with very generous portion sizes for a good price, fully understand now why we had to book so far in advance. Excellent service to go along with it, would definitely recommend!

One of the best places to eat in Norwich, hands down. Incredible food. Authentic Korean dishes. Book ahead - they get busy! So worth it though. We always take friends there. Awesome.

Visited last night with some family. Its a quirky little restaurant tucked away upstairs in the city centre. The decor is slightly dated and its a little run down in places, but the atmosphere is pleasant and the staff all friendly. The food is nothing short of amazing, the Korean Fried Chicken is the star of the show as well as their dumplings. Portion sizes are generous and very reasonably priced. We over ordered as the portions were so big, but took the leftovers home with us. What a great little restaurant, would highly recommend if you like authentic Korean food.

Love this place. The food is great, the staff are friendly and welcoming, and the service is fast. It has all the main dishes you'd want from a Korean restaurant. The Toppoki is my favourite 🌶️🌾

I honestly go here way too often, the food is so so so tasty and you definitely get your moneys worth. Everything comes out in good time and the wait staff are all very welcoming and attentive, I can’t wait for the next time I get to eat here!

Returned 2023, still A maxing food, however, service was questionable I could drop a star or two, but as the food is to die for I'll let it go! A Mazing, food was good and not expensive. You need to book in advance and be mindful not child friendly entrance, but the staff are super helpful with prams etc. Always busy and I'm not surprised. Well done 👍

Food is just amazing. Great selection (but not too much), really tasty, good veggie options and quick service. And all at a fantastic price! My friend is also newly gluten free (strictly), and the server was very knowledgeable and able to provide recommendations and adaptations to suit. Top class restaurant that I’m proud to have in my city!

We indulged in a delightful array of dishes at Kimchi, including the Grilled Tofu Dol Sot, Two Spicy Pork Dol-Sot, Jinju, and a generously shared portion of Chilli Korean Fried Chicken with Pineapple Mayonnaise. The experience was splendid, and our friends from London deemed it the best Dol-Sot they've had in years. The quick and fresh service added to the enjoyment, and despite being full, the restaurant maintained its lively atmosphere. It's no surprise that securing a table at this establishment is a challenge, given its status as, in my opinion, the best Asian food spot in Norwich.

Came here for an evening meal. Was seated straight away and staff were helpful and happy to move me & my friend to a 2 seat table when it became available. Warm & cosy inside, nice atmosphere. Ordered sweet glazed korean fried chicken, beef bulgogi, rice & pork dumplings - everything was delicious and served very fast. Will definitely come here again. Thank you!

First time visitor - greeted and seated quickly- we booked a table- restaurant was clean, simply furnished but had a good atmosphere. Staff friendly and attentive and considerate. Prices were surprisingly low for freshly made. Waiter knowledgeable of the menu, order came quickly and was delicious.. definitely going again♡

The KFC is so good, will definitely eat here again!

Really enjoyed the meal - so many different flavours going on. My advice would be to definitely get one of the KFCs and a bibimbap. Make sure to ask for an egg for the bibimbap (we didn't notice egg was an extra).

I have been to many places to eat in Norwich, and so far this is the best one. Small menu done extremely well, feel good and delicious food with generous portions, plus extremely quick service to boot. A lovely bustling vibe, fantastic. If you like Asian food and haven't eaten here, you're insane. 10/10

This was my first visit. What a little gem. The place was very busy but the food, which we were told is authentic Korean, arrived very quickly. The staff were lovely and explained the menu and. were very attentive without being intrusive. The food was lovely, spicy but not overpoweringly hot. There were several customers who appeared to be Korean which is always a good sign. Our table was only available for an hour but because the service was so slick that was not a problem. The only minor negative point was that, with a lot of hard surfaces which seems to be the norm in restaurants now, it was quite noisy.

What an amazing place !! This is my partner and my favourite restaurant and our second time coming. The portion sizes are huge and so genorous for the great prices!! We’ve now had items from both the lunch and dinner menu, and our faves include pork dolsot, pusan pork, and the yangyum KFC. We were talking about the food for weeks after we first went, it’s that good !! Love it here !!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

a very small but cozy place to eat in. i always ordered their ramen but this time decided to try their bibimbap with tofu, they're alright. however their chilly KFC was REALLY SPICY! (asian me internally screaming in joy when i took my first bite🥰) they served their kimchi for free + refillable too, so so good ☺️

Amazing experience! I cannot wait to go back to try the other dishes on the menu. The staff were exceptional, as was the food and the restaurant itself had a very comforting/homely atmosphere.

I bought some food to take-away and it was delicious ! As I paid, I forgot my wallet there and the staff was really nice, kept it for me and gave it back to me when I came back, without asking for anything. I really recommend this place, for the staff as for the food !

Amazing good every time and great value for money!

We come every year for our anniversary, staff are always so lovely, great atmosphere and lovely food, would recommend everything from the menu but their classic KFC will always hit the spot after a stressful day out in Norwich.

It’s a very cozy small sized restaurant. The ambience is lovely and it’s good for a date or just a quiet meal. The staff here are professional and customer friendly. We had the Seoul Tapas meal and the Bibimbap. For some reason I didn’t get a sauce for the tapas meal so eating plain rice wasn’t so great. The chicken and beef were cooked to perfection and well flavoured. The Bibimbap was also great and we enjoyed the overall meal. The price too isn’t outrageous and the drink we had were lovely. I’d definitely recommend this place and I’ll have to go back to try out the dumplings 🥟.

Probably the best meal out I've had in a long time. Really delicious food, and it was so quick! Everyone's meals were served within 20 mins, and it was completely fresh. Would 100% recommend, I'd give more then 5 stars if that was possible

Really enjoyed my first proper Korean meal here. KFC was so crisp and the sauce was fragrant, pineapple mayo much reccomended. We will definitely be back asap.

First time visiting always wanted to go and was not disappointed. Went for a birthday meal and left very satisfied. Great food felt very fresh and didn’t have to wait too long as well. Service was very good. Highly recommend the beef bibimbap and the KFC chicken and noodles and the pork dumplings. Kimchi was free as well which was nice. It was more than reasonable and would absolutely go again. I can’t wait to try other dishes.

Amazing place. The food was top notch. Generous portion sizes. Great server and atmosphere. Army stew is strange - I never expected Spam in a Korean meal 😊 It is a very small venue, so I recommend booking in advance. It's also upstairs, so watch out for narrow stairs.

My first experience with Korean food, I went with my wife and daughter for my daughter's graduation dinner, we all thought it was superb food superb value and a very polite and friendly service, we had, Seoul tapas Man-doo And sizzling beef bulgogi All of which were delicious, thanks to all 👍🏻

First time time visit. Must be good as alot of the other customers were from the Far East. We ordered a main each and two sides but I think we only needed one side between the two of us. The main meal was quite filling. You can ask for a container to take home what you don't eat. Reasonably priced for the amount of food you get, also you didn't have to wait to long for the food to get to the table. I would go again and try an evening menu. We'll worth a visit. I'm still full after a few hours. Enjoyed.

Picked the Kimchi as it was my birthday and I love Korean food and this place did not disappoint 🙌 I wanted to try everything but managed to get 3 different dishes shared with my partner and they were all delicious 😋 will be coming back for sure to try everything else!

The Korean Fried Chicken here is insanely good. You get a choice of around 4 different sauce flavours and I had the chilli one which was phenomenal. Way better than any other boneless fried chicken I have ever had. It was surprisingly filling (I got 10 but couldn't even finish it). This place is delicious and authentic. Definitely coming back.

One of my favourite places to eat in Norwich. Always great food, homely feel, lovely staff and great value for money. Pick a main and some smaller plates to share and you wont leave hungry! All of that and a couple of beers for £25 a head or less. The best Korean place i’ve tried!

Great little place. Moderate sized menu and very affordable price. The Chicken is wonderful as are most of the rice dishes, the rest of the menu is varied and many are of tapas size so are great to add to your main choice. Not been through the whole menu yet, but so far nothing disappoints. staff are friendly and attentive, the place has a very Asian cafe feel, but with a buzzy atmosphere, great for groups. There only let down is they only have one beer and no wines. Would suggest you book as even during the week it gets busy.

Pretty authentic and the closest we’ve had to Korean food in the UK flavour wise. The cost to portion ratio was very good, in particular with the Korean fried chicken. Service was also good. Would definitely visit again!

Hands down the best restaurant in Norwich. My now partner took me here on our first date and we've been going ever since, together and with our friends and family. Service, food and waiting time were spot on each time. The prices are more than fair. I recommend this place to everyone I know!

Love this place. Its small but the atmosphere is lovely. The staff are super helpful and so friendly. Food is sooo good but for us, portions are a bit small. We had the bibimpap, korean chicken wings and it was all good.

The kimchi is a small restaurant ghat really knows what's up. I had the glazed KFC (Korean Fred Chicken) which was the best fried chicken I have ever had. I also tried the Beef Bibimbap (the hot plate) and was delighted with the short grain soft rice mixed with veggies and lovely thinly sliced grilled beef. The KFC for 10 pieces was about £8 and the rice dish was £11 so a very affordable meal. The restaurant service is also really friendly and helpful and you can get free kimchi as a side dish subject to availability.

Eaten here over 11 times! The consistency is unbelievable, every meal we leave amazed at how they can produce such tasty fresh food! Can’t recommend enough! 10/10 Actually the best restaurant in Norfolk (in my opinion) I hope it’s always there
