Always excited to visit , exceptional service, attention to detail is consistently high. Spoilt for choice for food options. Love that the specials are always changing to support a fantastic menu.

Slightly disappointed with all the talk and recommendations here. Reserved my table 6 weeks in advance, When we were sat down nobody came over for 20 mins to take our drink order and was soon forgotten about next to the kitchen in the corner. Chased the drink order as they never came and waited another 15 mins for food to arrive. Nice tapas style food but nothing really wowed me and could get this grub anywhere else in the city. Wouldn't come back.

We are so lucky to have this restaurant in Norwich. I went with friends for a much needed girly catch up. The atmosphere but amazing and staff were so friendly. The cocktails were awesome, my favourite was the passion fruit martini, OMG so lush the best cocktail ever 🍸 The food was really really delicious. We had a varied selection of tapas to share, my favourite dishes were the aubergine and calamari 👌😋 I will definitely be back soon with hubby 🥰

Great food, very friendly staff, though somewhat deceptive. They all had a crafty look in their eyes which we found hard to ignore. Really enjoyed the toilet waiting area. The pork is brilliant but the chicken taco was not as brilliant. Highly recommend the steak dish. There were no squid rings available on the day, which was unfortunate because I was looking forward to catching up with my old friend Squidward. Lovely piano in the restaurant but sadly nobody was playing it. Instead we were treated to the melodic voice of the late king of Rock and Roll, Mister Elvis Presley (God rest his soul). Very friendly staff, great music (real classic LPs being played!) and superb food. What's not to like? Hot tip: try the teriyaki mackerel and thank me later.

Always have an incredible meal here. Food is fresh, flavoursome, and good portion sizes. Love the different monthly specials too. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming, including the chefs! Having a record player to play the tunes is such a wonderful touch. Absolutely love it here.

Came here 2030 on 11th January 2025 and absolutely loved the FOH staff. Dom and Eve really impressed us. We were sat next to the vinyl player which is definitely a unique experience for a modern venue. However the volume of which means everyone present is shouting over it to hear each other, creating a far too loud to be enjoyable environment. This creates a negative experience form the moment you enter. Sadly they were out of whiskey due to poor supply ordering so I wasn't able to have my all time favourite drink, an old fashioned. So I ordered something else. However after he had to chase up the kitchen for our food Dom apologised and noticed I hadn't touched my drink. A short while later he appeared next to me with an old fashioned. He had actually run out and up the road to buy Jack Daniels just to make me my drink. That is by far the best service I have ever had anywhere. The definition of going above and beyond for the customer. I did not expect him to do that. I felt this one act completely negated any issues I had up to this point and I completely dismissed any hard feelings. Shortly after our food arrived Dom had clocked out and we were served by the delightful Eve. She was such a bubbly ray of sunshine whilst talking to us and the chefs which shows how genuine she is. Definitely deserves high praise. Looking forward to being served by her again. I later got the opportunity to talk with Ella and Josie too who really round off the FOH team as fun yet professional which is just what you want. Despite the above, the food that is normally great, this time fell short of that standard. Our main problem was our beef tacos with beef so hard that we needed a jack hammer to get through it. I would describe it as chewy but that's an understatement. I assume it was cooked, left to go cold and then microwaved. Ella did very kindly say she'd take it off the bill which was unexpected and appreciated. The rest was lovely especially mojiti rice. However given the tiny portions that they have to cook are nothing compared to restaurants wherein the chefs cook proper meals, I think the chefs should spend less time singing and dancing and more time actually cooking. One of the best hidden gems in Norwich!! Amazing tapas, unique & delicious cocktails, fantastic atmosphere & friendly, helpful staff!! I have been so many times… and never get bored! Could not recommend enough.

The staff were really friendly and made sure everything was good. Cocktails were great, even the mocktails. The Wasabi prawns were so crispy and tasty. I was really full but as a coeliac my only dessert options normally is a brownie. So when I saw panko banana with miso sauce I asked if I could take it away and they accommodated immediately. I had them that evening and they were delicious. All in all great atmosphere, great staff and food. I thought it was really good value for money as well.

The seafood was fresh and flavorful. Can’t wait to try more from the menu!

Myself and my Boyfriend Rob have just come home from the most amazing evening! The drinks, food, customer service and attention to detail were simply exceptional! All of the food was simply perfect, my favourite being the pork belly! The dessert of Banana was recommended to us by our lovely waitress and was just delicious! We will be back in a heartbeat! Took a group of friends here for an early November dinner, and it was wonderful. Seriously delicious food, great cocktails and lovely atmosphere. A must visit when in Norwich.

I was traveling to Norwich for the first time and, because I have Celiac disease, I needed to find a gluten-free meal before making it to an event with the group I was traveling with. I had a delicious meal: the pork belly, crispy squid, and wakame and cucumber salad with a mocktail! The restaurant is also run by absolutely lovely people—they even called a taxi to get me to my event on time. Thank you!

The food was tapas style, interestingly presented and well explained by our hosts. We had beef tacos, pork ribs which were very tender, along with rice and green bean specials. Would recommend all of them. For desert we thoroughly enjoyed the banana fritters in miso caramel sauce and elderflower sorbet. The drinks included a good selection of non alcoholic cocktails. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, taking time to have a conversation when appropriate. The background music was nostalgic and we were told that it was played on vinyl which is very retro. All added up to a relaxed atmosphere.

What an amazing place to go to! Not only is the food fantastic but the staff are just lovely. We went there for my daughter’s 21 st birthday and they were so accommodating, decorated the table for her and even got the guitar out to sing her happy birthday. Ecky and his team are 5 star. Can’t wait to go back again.

This restaurant had been recommended and we are so glad we tried it. It was busy for a Monday but we were not surprised as we really enjoyed it. They had a singer/pianist and the whole evening was really chilled with great food/ambience and service. Will definitely go again.

Foods are delicious. But I would like to add some pepper on anchovy dish. I really like the drink, Naked Lychee. Need to book a table before you step in. Uhm well, I will be back to try different dishes.

Monday night, live pianist, the service is very good, food was served quickly and of a very high standard, super fresh and good portions. Also great wine! Also all gluten free which suited me as coeliac. Had the beef blue taco, ribs, kimchi and fries. 😋

Absolutely delicious fabulous food. None of that tapas like service where everything dribbles out at the whim of the kitchen. All came together. Impossible to rate one dish better or worse than the next. All tip top.

What an outstanding experience we had at Blue Joanna for my birthday a few weeks ago. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, great music, perfectly pitched for the vibe of the place. The food was fantastic, so tasty and something for everyone. The staff were wonderful, so friendly, the boss man even got out his guitar for me (hilarious even though I don’t like the spot light!). My family and I walked out agreeing that we couldn’t fault a single thing. We’ll be back for sure!! 💙🎹

Came here again recently with friends for dinner. Service was friendly and most food tasted great as usual. Music was very loud (as usual) and tacos were far too salty, which wasn't our experience the last time I came. Otherwise a good experience overall.

Table of 5 on a Tuesday night. The place was absolutely buzzing with a really cool vibe. Food was delicious - we tried many different dishes and they were all gorgeous. Reasonably priced and perfect for sharing. There was a bit of a mix up with our bill but it was sorted efficiently. The staff were lovely and welcoming. I will definitely be coming back soon.

A first time at the blue joanna and would 100% recommend! The atmosphere is great, the food is delicious, with plenty of options wether you are vegan/ meat eater. We shared 6 plates (tapas style) between 2 and it was the perfect amount. Our favourite was the thai ‘fish cakes’. The staff are friendly and attentive. It was a lovely evening and somewhere i would definitely go again!

Lovely little restaurant. Had melt-in-mouth pork belly and delicious green salad. Will try to return soon to tackle more of the interesting-sounding menu. Staff were all really welcoming too.

Came for a meal on Monday evening whilst visiting our son in Norwich and what a wonderful place. Food was stunning, the staff were really friendly and the pianist was brilliant. There was a wonderful atmosphere and I can highly recommend. We will be back when we visit again from Halifax 😀

The blue Joanne was booked for a birthday treat for me at first I was not sure about going due to its location. But how wrong was I the atmosphere quality of the food and service out of this world. The restaurant is quite small but adds to the whole vibrant atmosphere. I came away very full and content and would recommend eating here to everyone, but please keep in mind there is a waiting list. I am booking again and can't wait. All the staff are so helpful friendly and make the expirence.

Superb food! Everything was super fresh and delicious, and even better as it is all gluten/dairy free. Service was a little bit slow but friendly nonetheless.

If you are in Norwich you just have to visit Blue Joanna it never disappoints (but be sure to book as it’s always busy). The menu is varied and has extensive vegetarian options as well as lots of meaty offerings. the food portions are smaller tapas style but don’t be put off by that they are so full of flavour and deliciousness (my husband doesn’t typically like tapas but loves eating at the blue Joanna!) we love the chicken wings, ribs and belly pork. Oh and the whitebait is lush too! Depending how hungry you are usually 2-3 dishes per person is sufficient. The team are super friendly and accommodating and have created such a great vibe. What’s neat is all the music is played on vinyl via a record player in the corner! This restaurant is on my top 10 of restaurants I’ve ever eaten worldwide it’s that good!

Excellent food and even better service! Had a dinner there for my boyfriend’s birthday and the staff really went above and beyond in making our evening. The food was delicious too of course, we had 7 plates, 4 cocktails and a dessert for £82, which I think is quite well priced. Overall 10/10 :)

We met Ecky for the first time last night and got on really well. He invited us to try the restaurant and we went to celebrate my husband's birthday today. We were treated like VIP's by all the staff. The food was delicious, cocktails menu extensive and I loved the mocktail as I was driving. Music played on vinyls was a real treat, all stuff we like! The cost was very reasonable too. Highly recommend this unique restaurant and will definitely return soon.

Went here for food as a party for my cousins stag night. The restaurant is quite small but very inviting with great attentive staff. The menu choice is a kind of street food with an Asian style with a good selection of dishes to sample along with Rice & various meat dishes such as Pork belly. Every thing is cooked to order and the presentation is pefecton the plate and looks great but wow does it all taste good! so much so i could easily order the same again next time x2 . The drinks menu is comprehensive with a good selection of beers, cider & cocktails on offer all made while you wait. Safe to say i will be coming back again to try some other treats off the menu and i must say on the night it was packed ! so book ahead . You can always tell a resturant is good on how many tables are full & this place was very full.

We ordered pork and beef Korean blue taco and it was 10/10. The meat inside was so nicely marinated and juicy! Their kimchi was so good as well close to as authentic as possible! And their cocktails were so good as well. The only let down was the Singaporean fried rice, wished it was more seasoned. The restaurant is ver reasonably priced for what you get. Cant beat that! Plus the restaurant was very cozy and well decorated, but there was not much seating so I would recommend anyone going in for dinner to have reservation. Overall the restaurant is 10/10! I will definitely be coming back for it again!

Came here after work with some friends, lost have people had recommended this place so I was excited to go. I was not disappointed, the cocktails were great, I had the spicy margarita, and it was lush! The food was amazing, tacos, wings, prawns - all amazing! There was nothing I didn’t finish. The food here is amazing, and being able to eat without need of searching through a menu for gluten free (since it's all GF) is wonderful. Everything we had was so tasty, highly recommend the oyster mushrooms which was my favourite!

It was manic to start with, extremely busy, quite noisy (not the music btw) and a bit of a wait to order food after drinks were taken care of. Once the food started rolling out all this was forgotten, great ribs, tacos and wings. I had to order more ribs, cocktails were ok and the wine pretty good. The hoards started leaving and all was calm. Been here a few times on our visits to Norwich, this restaurants lets you down

If you visit Joanna, you won't leave blue. The electric and buzzing atmosphere was an assault on the senses. Speaking of salt, the food was seasoned perfectly, truly wonderful and delicious. The cocktails you won't mock, strong shots like a Glock. What I must say is the service was absolutely exceptional. Ecky and the team were so friendly, attentive and just all around great people. I said I won't mention Hucks, and I won't, but it's his favourite restaurant apparently and going here felt like seeing him tear down the wing, exciting, exhilarating and satisfying. I came here with my wonderful girlfriend and we loved it, would recommend.

Food all tasted the same and waaaay too salty. Some of the pork belly was nice, other bits were dry and over-cooked. The taco tasted like carpet. Couldn't taste any mushroom in the breadcrumbed mushrooms. Didn't even finish dessert, some kind of deep fried crumbed banana with a weird sauce. It's definitely a no from me.

Vibrant Saturday night atmosphere with delicious food and friendly service. The gluten-free and dairy free menu is a real treat. The skirt steak and the aubergine dishes were particularly flavourful, topped with an indulgent cocktail. Very reasonably priced.

Had a fantastic meal with two friends here. Booking is essential as not a huge amount of space for how popular it is. Recommended tapas is around 2-3 plates per person. We went for 3 each as the menu was amazing and the specials sounded great. We were not disappointed. Everything was superb. Can't wait to go back and try more.

We had a few friends come up for the weekend and booked a table - the staff were super friendly and welcoming, the food was amazing - everything tasted delicious and full of flavour and as a vegan I was over the moon to have so many options ! The atmosphere is cozy and friendly and we felt looked after and treated ! An absolute must if you want a good evening of food , cocktails and great vibes ! We will deffo be back :-)

Had a great time thanks to the friendly staff and the lively atmosphere. We tried several dishes as follows. The crispy pork belly with pickled cucumber, soy & chili dip was the highlight of our meal. The skin was perfectly crispy, and the sauce complemented it well. The Thai-style banana blossom ‘fish-cakes’ with sweet chili sauce were just okay. While the batter had a nice chili and sour flavor, the banana blossom itself was a bit plain. A bit more seasoning inside could have taken this dish from okay to amazing. The wasabi battered prawns with citrus mayo didn’t meet my expectations. The batter was crispy, but I couldn’t get any wasabi flavor, and the prawns themselves lacked seasoning. The citrus mayo also felt a bit too plain for my taste.

My friend is coeliac so finding a place that does a completely gluten free menu and risk free of contamination is very rare. The food is lovely, extremely tasty and the staff are so lovely and helpful. The atmosphere is lively and happy. Highly recommend!

We've been looking forward to eating at Blue Joanna for a while given its popularity. We had our food within 20 minutes of being there - it felt rushed. This, coupled with the dishes being served in diner-style plastic bowls and abundance of fruit flies, felt like fast food. This feeling was confirmed with most dishes, whilst being tasty, were deep fried, with very similar flavours across the board - miso, sweet chilli, mayonnaise. The service felt impersonal. Wouldn't rush back. However, reasonable value for money.

Highly recommend, great food, great host and staff, decent price. Looking forward to going back.

Yet another great visit to Blue Joanna! This restaurant has quickly become one of my absolute favourite restaurants in Norfolk. Atmosphere is spot on, really unique vibe which the place pulls off well; the staff are always friendly, helpful, explain how the menu works, and nothing is too much trouble. The menu choices are fantastic; really wide ranging choices that cater for pretty much anyone without being overwhelming. True mix of cuisines that they deliver with great taste and flavour. Everything is fresh, which you can see being cooked from the open kitchen. I’d recommend getting 4 dishes between 2 people, this always seems to work well for the portion sizes. Is truly some of the best tasting food I’ve had - with some real creativity. Still cannot get over the prices in this place - for what is some of the nicest food I’ve had, the prices sit below that of high street chain food easily.

Great Asian tapas, food amazing, staff Vey friendly and good value for money. Not a big place, so book or get there early. Outside seating. Always my go-to when in Norwich. Just can't really express how good it is in words...go and try for yourself.
