The Kebab Shop in St Albans

Great area to share a kebab. The food was amazing and the overall service was just perfect. The meat was great and pita wasn’t soggy even though there was a lot of sauce. The prices are fair for very good portions and had a great experience with the staff.

I won't be using this place again ! , I ordered 1 shish n chips this evening. It took 40 mins . The older man is so unorganised and rude . So many people where waiting etc even uber eats left as was taking too long . The young lad wasn't there but is so much happier and nicer . They charged high price ! So expected better treatment.

Absolutely delicious kebabs. Always fresh, good cuts of chicken. Always fresh, tasty salads. Sauces are great. Can’t fault this place at all! Keep up the great work kebab shop!

Ordered a large chicken shish with salad and put in the comments “not too much onion or chilli sauce please”. I’ve just had my order delivered and all they have given me is a few old looking lumps of chicken (with just the one shrivelled mushroom!), half a flat bread and a pot of onion and chilli sauce. Called them to explain their mistake. Not interested and said I could go and collect another order (don’t drive). Literally couldn’t have cared less. £14 and it’s gone in the bin. Such a shame as last time I ordered from here the kebab was great. After this experience, I won’t be ordering from there again.

Very impressed, fast delivery from uber eats. Had mixed kebab and chips. Such a generous portion that I will have some more tomorrow. Lovely fresh salad as well with really tasty flatbread.

Got delivered and the bag was soaked through with grease, no surprise when we took it out very poor quality chicken and the greasiest kebabs we have had. Would not recommend. Also the deliveroo driver when dropping it off also advised us how bad this take away was and we shouldn’t of ordered from there which was a little to late.

We came here in the off chance and we were not disappointed. The kebabs were amazing. This is our go to place now in St Alband for kebabs.

Our first order today. I had a superb doner kebab with very tasty bread. We collected our order but you can order in advance by telephone if you wish to save time. We have only just discovered this place but we shall certainly be ordering from them again They do set meals too.

It’s a real shame. We like the food here and have been regular customers. But had a really bad experience. I was rushed through my order, it was all wrong and there were things missing. He forgot to charge for extra bread...and asked me to pay....which was fine but he was very rude about it. When I received the food I told him that the order was wrong and he got very defensive and strange about it. I said I am happy to pay extra as I would have needed more food but he was very rude and totally unapologetic. We will not be going back.

Been here a few times now and this will probably be my last was a group of 6 so we spent plenty of money and just seemed like the bloke serving is so unhappy in his job was more concerned about charging extra 50p for pot of sauce then getting our order right, it's a shame the service in here is poor as I enjoy the food but just puts you off going back when people serving are miserable and

Kebab shops don't have a great reputation. This one though offers good tasting and fresh meat with artisan style bread, fresh salad and trimmings. Meat, bread, salad and sauce are all provided separately, so what you get is a proper meal and not an overfilled greasy pitta sandwich in a bag. That's a bit quirky, and great if you're headed home, but if you are eating on the move then it can be impractical. I've ordered by phone early evening for collection and never had a problem with delays or rudeness; intact, quite the opposite and have always found it friendly and good humoured. Portion size is super and the fresh chillies are ace. Not an everyday stop, but does the job when you've skipped a meal.

Collected an order which on arrival at home was found to be missing kebab meat, pitta was there and chips but no meat! Called them they said " we try to run after you" no you didn't was still outside for a short time, they told us to come back if we want the meat....no ta money back please! Gave them address and postcode and their driver tried to deliver more food? We said just wanted the money back, he said " you want money go and get it" phoned to speak with the Manager who' s English deteriorated quickly from previous conversation, the driver started to yell and swear at my wife, threatened them with the Police and hey presto the money appeared.....so top tip, if you are silly enough to order anything from there do not pay until you are happy that you're order is complete or to be perfectly honest just avoid and somewhere where customers are respected, my second attempt at eating from there.....NEVER AGAIN!

Succulent tender shish kebab prepared with great care! :) We go here every week a couple times and they never fail to deliver delicious food. Amazingly friendly service as well :)

Excellent fresh kebabs, healthy and delicious. Highly recommended for those impromptu yet healthy meals

By far the best kebabs in St Albans real good quality meat cooked over a fine charcoal grill also all the food is served in separate containers to stop it from getting soggy, I don't know what the other reviews are about rude staff as the staff are always very welcoming and freindly and the boss is a really nice guy who always makes me welcome every time I go there. Highly recommend this shop.

Title says it all. Very rude, not even a thank you. Took an age to start cooking. No payment by card. Awful.

I have been on three occasions and have had a bad experience every time! The food is average but the staff are totally unfriendly and unprofessional. I won't be back for a forth visit.

We first entered and the man who greeted us couldn't speak English and couldn't smile. So the owner I would think came out and we tried to order again and he just wouldn't listen to how we wanted it and was just rushing us along like we were idiots.

We thought it time we tried out the new Kekab takeaway at The Quadrant and headed over. The menu is quite restricted to kebabs and burgers but that's probably to be expected. Very clean and tidy shop. For the first time I have had it, all the elements come separately - a plastic bowl of salad, sauce, great authentic pita and separate cooked meat. You put this all together yourself. It certainly means you can see the quality of the ingredients and it all tasted very good and the pita is not all soaked from sauce and fat.

I picked up a takeaway from here this week. WOW, not your usual overlooked chicken in a pitta, but a succulent BBQ'ed marinated chicken breast individually cooked over charcoal, served with a warmed flat bread and tub of salad and chili sauce, to build your own kebab at home.

A very friendly welcome when we popped in after a late night of work. The choice of food was very good and quality was exceptional, the meat was cooked over traditional coals and marinated well I could not fault it!

Forget the image of an old fashioned Saturday night doner kebab shop - this place is a smart clean joint serving up tasty kebab's with fresh salads and delicious bread.

Had a lovely takeaway today , very clean and friendly staff. Best kebab in St Albans . Would highly recommend and will be going back.

Very nice, new looking, bright and clean kebab shop (compared to the others in the area) they really have made a good effort here. It is spotless!

Went for some chicken wings and a mixed kebab, quick enough to take your order but one hour later was still waiting for the food, after getting a look of disgust from all staff , my food appeared, what is the square flat bread all about and not impressed having to make the kebab from separate boxes

The new Kebab Shop, in Marshalswick, has some interesting items on the menu. I was tired, so I thought I’d just stick with what I knew. So I ordered a Chicken Shish Kebab. Well what I actually ordered was a “Grill Kebab – Chicken Shish”, so I got half a piece of flat bread, a pot of salad and some BBQ’d chicken in a foil takeaway container. Bread was a bit greasy, salad was OK and the (just cooked) chicken was quite oily (it had been marinated in a blend of tomato and red pepper purees, olive oil, fresh garlic and lemon).

Wanted to try 'traditional Turkish kebab' from this fairly new venue. Looks clean and promising. Menu the usual array of kebab fair. Tasted ok though the hot sauce lacked kick. What let the place down was the grumpy, unfriendly and disdainful attitude of the staff. Not a smile to be seen. It is as if there was a corporate position to present an unwelcoming face to the customer and they were doing this huge favour for making any food. It's a shame because the location and attractive appearance of the place could mean it offers something special. But without better customer service I think they will lose trade. Try smiling and being welcoming guys. It makes a big difference.
