Harpenden Grill Kebab and Pizza in St Albans

We are regular customers here, chicken shish kebabs and halloumi wraps always good - staff friendly and polite

We have ordered from here 3 times now and we LOVE it! Each time has been delivered earlier that predicted. Food is always hot and taste amazing! Kids love the kids meals they do, nice amount of choice and reasonably priced! They aren't small potions either! Highly recommend.

Shocking service. Driver dumped food at reception and apparently tried to call me multiple times but no call made by restaurant at all. Rang the restaurant and they were very rude and told me it’s very busy. Food was silly cold and not great anyway. Will not use again.

You get what you paid for, can’t complain. Swift service and great staff

Food is always nice. But I have more than once made notes about some salad preferences for our burgers or wraps and they are never right.

I walked in to order three kebabs/wraps tonight to take out. Place wasn't busy. No customer service. Plastic screen is the first problem. It sets the culture and atmosphere. A barrier between staff and customers, which staff are more than happy to hide behind. I didn't hear one conversation other than: Order. Pay. I apologise for being inconvenient. The lady who serves is especially unfriendly - very busy, absolutely unhappy to see a customer. Food: food was fresh, which is good. Yet 2 of 3 of our kebabs/wraps didn't have any sauce*. Like having a roast without gravy!! I literally made my own sauce when i got home. Would you expect to put tomato on a pizza or sauce on a curry? Do I think they'll care? No, because they'll be too busy behind their plastic screen ignoring anything or anyone beyond the screen. I live less than 200m away and will not use them again. *Why didn't i take my food back i hear you ask? Because I was hungry and my guests didn't want to make a fuss (hence making my own sauce)..

Meat was really dry tasted like cardboard Really expensive for the quality of this food don't bother trying

Honestly this used to he such a good kebab shop these days its awful orderd a kebab and it was the most dry thing I've ever eaten even with sauce. The meat was definitely old and been sitting for a while not impressed at all

Absolute worst place I’ve ever been to the staff are very rude and also been ripped off few days ago I went to get a burger meal and hummus with pitta coat me 9 quid 2 days after that went to get the same order they charged me 15 pound when I asked why they told me because “its lunch time the price changes” what absolute morons never will I go again

Worst kebab i had in my life The dry meat feels like last weeks leftover tastes disgusting! I had a feeling to walk away before ordering as it stinks in there I'm wondering they haven't been shut down yes! It was my first time eating there and won't be eating anything even if they pay me. Places like this are a health risk

After many years of being a regular customer, it has come to the point that so many of the recent orders have been below expectations that I will no longer order from here. Sad that it has come to that point. Harpenden needs a good quality kebab house

Awful experience, ordered a chicken shish with pitta and it cost me £10 and was the smallest portion I’ve ever seen, only 4 small chunks of chicken and a small pitta, I thought for £10 I would get a meal that would fill me up, would not recommend unless you like being robbed in daylight

Always good. Good to phone order through as they do get busy.

Always get a fairly good kebab from here , fresh and consistent and fast for when you just want a quick bite . We always use Deliveroo which to be fair does push the cost up a little to high . Overall no problems !

This used to be our goto but today the salad was less and the sauce was less it felt like they have reduce the amount as well.

Lovely food and great service every single time!!! Used to pick up my order but since I found Just Eat, I always order on the app and never have any issues.

I visited kebab shop for a kebab I’ve been coming here for like 15 to 16 years never been spoken to in such a rude and arrogant manner absolutely ridiculous dry Waithe, thin chicken,donna don’t like to complain, but it was absolutely an edible. Try left there all day. Asked for fresh one, as it was just cooked on the skewer and was told no I will not be returning. Such a shame for to be spoken to and so disrespectful and a very very loyal customer for many many years. Disgusting !?

Superb service, the staff were so attentive, even noticing when I was too hot and offering to move our table. The food was delicious and the decor stunning. A must visit, but book ahead as it's a tiny venue.

Food was cold and dry, Order was wrong on the mix 3 and one set of chicken shish was missing. Was last thing sunday which might excuse it but would not rush to order again with all the other options available locally,

Food portions are small chicken meat and chips there was more sauce than anything else was not worth the money wrap was ok but still not with the money would be cheaper to buy a chicken cook it cut it up and put in a wrap will not be ordering from heat again defo not worth the money

Kebabs and chips were great. Halloumi was undercooked and smelt off. Not usually like that.

Had a lamb doner and the meat was VERY dry - in fact it was literally crispy from dryness in places. I can't see how anyone could have put this into a kebab and been thinking "This is fine! The customer will love this!". This is more extreme than usual but the meat is generally way too dry. The salad was good, but then salad is cheap, right? Their burgers are good, I find, but for a kebab there is a much better place a little way down the hill that I will now go to. I recommend you do the same.

The halloumi wrap was cold overpriced and quite frankly a waste of 7£,the staff are rude and are constantly giving dirty looks to customers this is debatably the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant #pinarzontop

I must agree customer service is non existent. Asked for a chicken doner no onions, got onions. This was the most disgusting kebab I've ever had and that's not many! Every other tasteless mouthful was chicken fat. I literally had to spit it out eventually and bin the rest. My son did the same. Asked for another doner kebab full salad and got cabbage and onions. First and last visit, don't waste your time and money!

Normally the food in this place is amazing. But today the chicken was hard And a bit burnt. I didn’t like it much

Oh my gosh ! What a difference a shish kebab can make in 2 months ! Had a chicken one last night and it was so soggy. The pitta was so thin. Full of crispy (nice) lettuce .some onion. But no tomatoes. Over £1.00 more for the small size. ( enough for me tho). Wont be buying again. Trying to save £ guys ? Lost my custom !

The customer is clearly the enemy. They are just rude. The food is ok but the service is shocking. It is like they assume everyone is drunk or they genuinely hate people. Maybe shut and shop and go and work for Hermes. They genuinely hate people.

The chicken burger was dry with a funny taste and soggy salad, took 3 bites and couldnt eat it. The 'cheesy chips' were cold and the cheese was just lumped on the top. Had to warm up in microwave and add more cheese. Aside from the fact it was quick delivery maybe they should work on the quality of the food first before sending it out..been coming here for years amd very dissapointed

Customer service is non existent! If you order a takeaway to be delivered and your order is incorrect it is a waste of time contacting them as they completely ignore all correspondence even if a refund is due.

Really hate to leave a bad review as have been coming here for many years however standards have slipped. Ordered two deliveries recently and both times the pizza was not what I ordered. The first time I was brushed off and told I would be given a credit next time I ordered. Never happened. The following time my meat supreme had no meat - just the extras (peppers and onion) that I ordered. I shan’t be returning. Have been back and more rude service. Their reply is nonsense - they have no intention of making this right.

I have been coming here for 20 years. What is wrong with this place? The short lippy woman behind the counter who has so much attitude! I ordered a pizza. They didn’t ask if I wanted thin crust or Dee pan. A moment later I said could I have it thin crust and was told it was too late. She started an argument and even though the pizza hadn’t been made refused to change it. This is the fifth bad experience here. Have previously complained and they’ve apologised and asked me to call so they can make it right. They didn’t. Avoid this place. Small business…. Yeah good riddance.

Wrong crust. Gave me thin crust rather than deep pan. £20 for a cheesy tortilla wrap. No offering of refund or replacing the pizza. Awful

Lamb shish seriously undercooked, not just rare, raw and not even hot through. Why not just cook it for long enough?! There wasn’t even anyone else waiting. Such a waste.

Excellent quality of service and friendly amazing food

As a loyal customer never had a problem since, The delivery driver didn’t have my change £4 said he’d bring it back which didn’t bother(it’s just the point) I done a order for collection 3x chips and kids meal were missing I called to explain the lady said well we can just give you more chips next time what is the problem. The problem is that I came all the way from St Albans, after calling me a liar saying they’re going CCTV they called me back saying they’ll give me half my order money back. I called today explained with my name etc the guy called me a liar and said ‘why would he give me free stuff I either pay for it all of go elsewhere’ this place is going down hill the new girl staff members are so RUDE. I will never use this place again because of the way they’ve treated me and how little they don’t care about there customers. Wouldn’t waste your time ordering to get half a order, give your money to a company that actually appreciate your custom.

Took 2 hours to arrive and when it did there were items missing or incorrect. Shame because the food was very nice.

AVOID!! Very very disappointing. VERY Late. Cold. Terrible customer service. Food was ordered at 6pm on a Tuesday evening, with a estimated delivery time of 30-40 minutes. As soon as the order was confirmed by the restaurant this jumped to 1hr-1hr 20 mins. Even then the food didn't turn up on time. The food finally arrived after 1hr 40mins and was stone cold. We ordered 2 identical kebabs, 1 of which was half the size of the other. Called the restaurant multiple times, it just rang out, finally got through to be told they'd only offer us a refund if we returned the food to them?! So they could check it was cold! We asked if we could speak to a manager and were told we couldn't. I never leave bad reviews, but this is an absolute joke. Very unhappy. Terrible customer service. Will never order from here again and will be telling others of our experience so this doesn't happen to them.

My app said it was on the way for 20minutes and didn’t arrive. Then I rang twice and they said it was on the way and that they were very busy. Then my food still didn’t arrive for 20 minutes.

Food delicious that’s why the feedback, but I think restaurant can use boxes instead of paper wrapped food . It’s not a complaint 😊, it’s better for appearance

Expected time was 17:55 but it came 15 minutes early which was lovely!, the driver was so nice. The food was lush, was still hot, will definitely be ordering from here again 100%☺️

Delivery was on time/early but the portion size wasn’t very good and the food was cold.
