The JP Joule in Trafford

We quite often get a good idea of a town by the quality of the Weather spoons pubs. This one is not the best one I've been in but not far off. Popped in for lunch with friends. Tables were clean, the app is great to use which meant we had drinks in a few minutes. Food was not Michelin star but what they do, they do well. Couldn't complain.

It's quite good but I think more staff needed. No milk in coffee machine but no one free to sort it this isn't the staff being lazy they were run off there feet. Some tables with plates in. Note to management hire more staff.

Dropped in to this small ish wetherspoons, for a quick pint on my way to meet friends. The service was as expected at a "spoon" slow, poor, lacklustre. I stood at an empty bar looking for staff, finally seen at the end of the bar in a small room, busy on a phone. When served the beer was, as is usual in a wetherspoons well kept and presented, prices also as to be expected, I just cant work out why so many pubs in this chain treat their customers so badly.

A little too crowded for me. But otherwise nice. 😀

The environment is quiet, suitable for a few close friends to have a dinner together, the food is of good quality, and it is more suitable for retirees or home workers to stay for a short time

The service when i walked in was pretty poor,3 barmen stood at the end of the bar, chatting away. Eventually got served by a young lady who was full of life and wanted to do her job.Had a burger meal, and it was really dry, and the chips were soggy.

Had great steak with fries for £5.99 as a special. Really tasty. Plus great real ales.

It's a weatherspoons so nothing more nothing less

i visited wetherspoons recently and i ordered the chicken bites. horrified to see that inside there was a large strange brown spot, very dissatisfied as i frequent wetherspoons regularly, i hope this improves #sendmeagiftcard

Great place, cheap and cheerful.

Eric was an amazing host tonight, anything we needed he was there. Absolutely no trouble. He asked me how my food was and wouldn’t accept that it was fine, knowing the quality was lacking he sent it back and brought out a perfect meal. Thank you Eric. I love a rare steak!

Lunch wasn’t bad and reasonably priced likewise drinks. However, the stench of cigarettes and vapes blowing through the ground floor fire exit to the front of the building from people smoking outside the door rather than than in the designated area and going on challenged, put us both of our meals. No soap in toilets and the toilets don’t seem to be being checked on a regular basis.

Bar man was grumpy as hell like he didn't didnt want to be there

Incredible taste, incredible value

Vegetarian breakfast was well cooked and delivered to our table by pleasant staff member. Refillable coffee and tea, was a nice addition.

Ordered a chicken shawmara I teaspoon of chicken in a 10inch wrap I cut in half and no chicken in 1 half absolutely disgusting

Waited till 2pm for afternoon deal of Fish & Chips plus a pint for £8.80 due to the very good value. Fish was nicely cooked with crispy batter, chips were hot but varying texture from very soft to quite firm. Surprised to be offered baked beans as well as garden or mushy peas with the meal.

Won't be visiting this establishment again. Went to order my last orders at 23:55 last night (bar shuts at midnight), had to wait 6 minutes until 00:01 and was then told that they couldn't serve me as it would breach their license. Well I am sorry but it is not my fault that they didn't have enough bar staff on to serve people. Disgusting way to treat a regular customer and will be taking my trade elsewhere from now, as will my friends 👍

Great prices and a good selection of drinks

Fish and chips was very filling should have had a small one. One complaint though...the sachets of tartare sauce were very difficult to get into. Had to use my penknife to cut into them

Weatherspoons do hot drinks as many as u wish...for one off payment of 1.50....carnt be beat...also selection of delicious hot food...all in all can be recommended....

The food was stone cold I'm not kidding.my brother had a vegan option of cold chips literally a tea spoon full of beans and 3 sausages, absolutely crap.will not buy what I regret calling food here ever again.

Purchased a pint of Guinness and a pint of cider for my wife both smelled and tasted of a chemical cleaner i returned them both to the bar the barman agreed with me, he went down stairs and returned with two replacement pints unfortunately there was no change with the taste or smell, this has never happened before in all the years I've been frequenting the j p joule, maybe standards are starting to slip, anyway sadly i won't be popping in for a meal or a pint for a long time to come.

New noodle main added to menu was ordered, was good but was not hot enough in heat temperature,!! ordered at the table, 1 drink arrived to be told other drink for my partner would have to wait because they were under staffed!! Went home to a really upset stomach 😪 sorry will not be returning 🙃....

Good beer selection, mediocre service and average food. So if you come by to try the beer: Recommended. Price/performance ok.

Pleasant atmosphere. Very satisfied with the amount and quality of cask ales provided. Myself and my hubby had a lovely time here. Bars on both upstairs and downstairs. Better choices on the downstairs bar though.

Went in the JP Joule for a drink with the family while visiting Sale. As you do. Welcome to the most bizarre experience of my life. Well, one of them. For whatever the reason, mistake, insanity, a snap decision, curiosity, mental illness. I ordered a fizzy rhubarb. My wife and daughter snorted their decision as they awaited their lemonades. The chuckles were clearly audible. Then the rhubarb arrived. Christ on a bike. I've never licked a thistle after a dog has scented the area, but I can only imagine the taste of that drink came very close. It was like drinking an autopsy. The smell alone was making people at the adjoining table cry. It was death in a can. With ice, to prolong the taste and chill the agony. It was beyond disgusting, an assault on the senses. Within five minutes my bladder began to evacuate all contents and soon kicked my bowels into copying the antics. It was awful, it was horrific. Pub was OK though.

Quick service. Functional Wetherspoon's pub like they all are without much atmosphere. Didn't think much of the chicken basket, served with about 10 chips.

A Spoons where you are spoilt for choice with the Cask Ale selection which justifies the pub being in the Good Beer Guide 7 years running. Toilets upstairs but so is another bar so no worries there. Top class bar staff 👍🏻 and so handy for the Metrolink for all stations to Altrincham and Manchester.

I had a five bean chilli jacket potato with a hot drink and a very good ale for under £10. I enjoyed my meal and drinks on the first floor, served by a friendly young female ( Beth or Amber). I would return to this Wetherspoons.

Cheap and cheerful. I wouldn't ordinarily frequent a Wetherspoons because Tim Martin is an obnoxious Brexshit voter and I hope he suffers from the lack of cheap foreign labour that he voted for.

Usually ok for the price n cheap and cheerful but today ordered fish n chips and the fish stunk, bought a second meal of steak n chips and the steak was undercooked guess that's £20 in the bin and ill still have to cook later 🤬

Upstairs and down stairs bars , toilets are a typical wetherspoons mission downstairs and normal distance upstairs ! , all ales downstairs , selected drinks on upstairs bar. Smoking at the front , outside back permanently closed due to back houses (noise levels) no drinks at the front when door staff are on , normally just Friday and Saturday night , friendly place , a complete typical wetherspoons ! Only 4 star due to back permanently closed. Update , last orders is still 11.45-12.00pm on normal days 🍺 (normal days Sun - Thurs)

Wetherspoon in Sale does what it says on the tin. Great prices, well kept beer... Need more effort on keeping tables clean!

A bit disappointed as it was fairly quiet though a very wet day. The small food order went awry though after making a reasonable complaint we got what we'd ordered and extra to compensate.
