The Jolly Potters in Newcastle-under-Lyme

We booked lunch for 15 people at the Jolly Potter. Both drinks and meals were served in a timely manner. The guy serving our party was really helpful and understanding of the dietary needs of individuals in the group. He remained calm and professional throughout our visit. The chef did really well to get nice hot meals out of the kitchen in really good time. We'll done guys we won't hesitate to recommend this pub for good food and a great atmosphere. As a bonus they serve a lovely gluten free sticky toffee pudding with custard, a real winner. Thank you guys you made our Chatty Cafe day out a great experience.

Best food ever!!!! Definitely my favourite place for food. The staff are amazing always extremely welcoming. Dog friendly is a bonus. Beer gardens a huge plus..

Terrible attitude to customers Pub toilets clearly not checked as were dirty If it was busy I could understand Definitely would not recommend I didn’t have food but the portions for the price looked poor

70 of us stopped here before match at Stoke. Pool table , dart board, sky sports kept us all entertained. Staff were welcoming and food was top notch. Would highly recommend this place

We can't fault the food here we have been many times fresh and well made. Lovely guys running the place. You can tell they work really hard and put a lot of effort in trying to make customers welcome. We live across the road so we meet our family here. We'll done guys!!! thank you for great service.

Amazing evening with friends, beautiful food - greatly priced drink and a fab game of darts & pool. All round family friendly place to go :)

Went for Christmas 3 course lunch food was amazing absolutely delicious just couple things missing bread sauce and cranberry sauce other than that could not fault our meal for two will definitely be booking again for next year

Went to the Jolly Potters on Christmas Day evening. The opening hours posted on Facebook were 10am to 10pm . We arrived at 5.30pm had two drinks . Then at 6.30 pm last orders was called. We double checked at the bar and was told no more drinks. So we went home . Speaking to people the next day . They were told to ignore last orders and were served drinks until after 10pm. I had traveled 50mies to meet my son on Christmas evening at the Jolly Potters . Why do they treat customers different? That was my first visit to the Jolly Potters. It will also be my last visit. The pub was very cold as if there was no heating on.

Have just had the worst experience ever, made to wait for over two hours for a meal then had a waitress be so rude to us as a family, first visit and the last visit

Went for a meal for my 60th birthday. 23 members of the family went. Great meal, great service. Couldn't fault anything. Well looked after. Will be going again. Thank you

Went tonight first time since re opening it used to be my late dad's local So we have a soft spot for this pub . We all enjoyed our meals they were really nice bit of a wait but we didn't mind it was quiet but early and a few more people eating as we left .we will call again staff very friendly Can I just say bar staff serving in the bar which left the lounge with no staff it's not a complaint maybe a bell on the bar just to alert staff that someone is waiting

The pub has just had a refurbishment and reopened and to be honest a shambles. On the board Sunday deal buy three bottles of cider. beer or soft drinks and get the forth free.which when went to pay could not do the deal it was not on the till. Also food did not have hunters chicken on and deserts very limited what they had. Nice refurbishment new carpets etc. But the management need to get there act together on the ordering side

Just had lunch at the newly refurbed Jolly Potters and have to say we were so disappointed with our meals. The steak sandwich came cold and was all gristle, as for the side salad - a load of lettuce, a quarter of a tomato, and a minute amount of cuccumber. The food is not cheap, but it is sub-standard. We won't be back.

I went here for food and a few drinks. No complaints on anything at all. The service was amazing, smiles all around. Quick service too! I would recommend to anyone, family and dog friendly place! The food was really filling especially for the price and it was absolutely beautiful, i couldn't be more impressed! Well done to Arlom and James you have done yourselves proud so far! Will definitely be visiting more!

Me and a friend went a week or so ago, the pub has been done up really well and is now a lovely place to go and have a drink. I didn’t eat so couldn’t comment on the food but nice atmosphere. Also dog friendly 😊

came for dinner today with my friend and babies. what a lovely time we had, staff were lovely and welcoming. the food was lovely, so big big compliments to your chef. can't wait to come again 😀

This pub has been all done with lots of changes nice and bright we was in the night it opened 6 7 8 September and had food there all three nights with living next door I don't have to go far and don't need to good atmosphere and all staff very pleasant and well do to james and Arlow that run it.

Having been in the pub a number of years ago, i saw a steady decline, so I was amazed what they have done to the place, you cant get any closer by bus, (stops outside) . the place was buzzing, with families out in the beer garden all the rooms were busy, not as busy as the staff, who although they were mainly all new, very pleasant and were doing their best had a couple of beers. for me they were the wrong side, being on the restaurant area side, no problem to me I let the staff go fetch them. Will I be back, you bet with friends. Well done. Chesterton needs this pub

The food was absolutely disappointing, the starter was extremely greasy had to put them in a napkin to get the grease off. The main was a ciabatta 3 tiny pieces of chicken 2 tiny pieces of lettuce no other salad. Complained to management during the...

Had a lovely meal , great atmosphere . Lovely beer garden . Booked up for a meal with friends later in the month . Well worth a visit .

Lovely new interior, family and dog friendly. Great choice of drinks., Welcoming hard working staff. Good to have a local family pub with beer garden. Kids had a great time! Good job guys we will be back to taste the delicious looking food menu!

Possibly the worst pub meal I've ever had. Cold, unappetizing, poor quality, uncooked and if I hadn't been in a rush, I would have returned it, it was just about edible and I was hungry.......Mentioned to staff on way out and got a reply of "Did you eat it?"...lemon piri piri chicken is definitely one to miss.

Had my surprise birthday here and it was great. A neat little room at the back of the pub for around 70 guests is just the job. Disco was supplied by the landlords son and food catered by themselves too. Great selection of beers at normal pub prices.One bad point, the pub does little trade on the bars during the week, therefore there's no atmosphere.

The seat was warm and moist when i sat down, the egg was dry, the chips were hard and the gammon was steak...

New owners open for food every day Steak night Thursday. Friendly clean pub with an excellent choice of ale. Children welcome, beer garden.

On our recent visit we decided to have a meal.The food was lovely and excellent value for money. After our meal I went to use the ladies toilet and ohhhh they were not very clean at all!After this my husband went to use the gents and he came back saying how smelly it was, does this pub have a proper cleaner? If there is one they need sacking!! Such a shame as the people seemed very nice and friendly.

The new owner at the Jolly Potters has improved the food menu. Great value, well cooked food. Good deal nights as well (Burger night, Curry night and then a steak night 2 steaks and a bottle of wine £25 .Well worth a try.

New owners now extending their food menu and all food that we have tried is lovely, especially there Sunday Lunches, recommended
