The only pub in Oxford's historic Florence Park Estate stocks an excellent choice of beers, ciders, and stouts alongside craft gins and excellent soft drinks. Tasty menu featuring excellent burgers, weekend specials, and a good choice of bar snacks. Dog and child friendly. Plenty of seating, indoor and out, relaxed vibe and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Lovely walks nearby in the park, Iffley village, or along the Thames path.

Their food used to be super delicious, but it went down so significantly. I wonder what happened. Our recent Sunday roast was so disappointing, very small portions and unbelievably dried out chicken. We would like to know when their food gets back to previous quality, then we would love to go back there again as it's such a good local pub.

I didn't eat this time but I remember the food being quite good. The atmosphere is nice and staff friendly. My dog often gets a treat. Would have given it five stars but the beer choice was a bit annoying. There were 4 ales on tap but they were all pale ales. What about a bitter or more traditional ale?

This is a lovely pub with great beer, food and atmosphere. However it’s really noisy even with a few people inside due to lack of soft surfaces to absorb sound. Some curtains and acoustic panels would do wonders. We are a group that visits regularly but are really finding it hard to hold a conversation so might seek another pub.

Hands down THE WORST excuse for a Sunday Roast I've ever had the misfortune to pay for. Avoid like the plague. A shame, because the live DJ "Count Skylarkin" was fantastic and clearly a lot of people there had come to see him. The beer selection including alcohol free was decent, but prices for beer and wine were steep for the area, and don't even bother asking for something like a Bloody Mary because "we don't do cocktails". Didn't bother wasting any extra money on dessert so can't comment on that. Roast potatoes were like rocks, grey inside and inedible. Can only have been cheap, shop-bought frozen ones thrown carelessly into a fryer. Yorkshire puds were similarly cheap and shop-bought, dry as a bone and tiny. Veg was grey, boiled in plain water, had apparently never seen seasoning. The cauliflower cheese had no cheese, just a thin, flavourless white sauce that barely even left a mark in the dish there was so little of it poured over the top of the boiled veg. The red cabbage had at least seen a splash of vinegar and was probably the best bit. The meats were all tough and chewy, and the vegan roast was just tasteless mush. The only thing decent was the small portion of chips that came with the tasteless vegan burger. My partner was ravenously hungry but couldn't stomach finishing his plate - he left half and just scoffed a lot of cheese and biscuits at home afterwards instead. We witnessed several tables get refunds, one sent their food back twice then just left without paying. I'm not sure what management is playing at, charging such prices while clearly skimping on both decent quality ingredients and paying a chef with the skills to cook them, but it seems a terrible shame to squander such a good venue by acting with greed aforethought. I do hope they get their act together before they put off enough locals to send the place under. We were also seated over an hour late for our 1:30pm booking as the kitchen was already struggling by that time. In future I shall eat earlier elsewhere and use this place only for a couple of beers while listening to music with friends.

Food, worst Sunday roast I ever had! Raw potatoes, vegetable mush, gravy with scum on top yuk, meat tiny amount with triple amounts of fat attached! How can you fail so badly and take £16.50 off someone?! Not to mention where did you get that tall, blonde ish barman from, deadpan misery himself! I like children and love dogs but this is just not a relaxing mix for a Sunday lunch. Avoid this place like the plague!

Cute little pub out of the way doing Sunday roasts and with wheelchair access. Has board games near the door. Dog friendly. Staff are down to earth and helpful and compliant with pretty much anything. It was nice to get a normal roast dinner. See photos. So there's a ramp by the back door. The landlord is laidback. The pub is quiet enough for autistic people to easily use though there appears to be a dukebox on the other side with poor acoustics, the pub is L shaped so it shouldn't matter.

Had the Sunday Roast dinner and have to say was very disappointed. I can only describe the meal as bland, lacked flavour. My partner had the roast beef and all that came out were two very thinly cut slices of over cooked beef, nothing like the picture on their advert! Was going to complain but she was so hungry she just wanted to eat and to be fair there is a generous helping of vegetables but at £16 a meal, I would have expected a bit more meat on my plate if it was me. I had the chicken which was good. The vegetables were also bland and lacked flavour. For instance the cheese sauce on the cauliflower cheese appeared to come out of a packet and was lacking any real flavour and quite watery. The swede was bland, but the red cabbage was good and there was white cabbage as well. Roast potatoes were good but the gravy that accompanied it all also lacked any real taste/flavour. I wouldn't go back for another roast, which is a shame as I like the pub, or if I did I would probably try something completely different and stay well away from the roast dinners.

The back gardens space was lovely and felt not busy even on friday evening which was nice! The kitchen is still closed so cannot rate the food from the pub but there was an amazing japanese van so that deserves a 5 but since its not affiliated to the pub it is 3 for now. The service was ok but looked like they needed more people in service since there were only two of them. Drinks stocks also looked quite low and wish there was a menu for drinks since that was missing. The pims half pint was £7.5 which was a bit steep and wish they checked if i wanted single of double shot since buying pims outside could coat me £15 per bottle. Overall it was lovely and felt relaxing environment but I think there is room for improvement.

It’s a food pub with no food. Overpriced gin and fancy lagers. No updates about food availability, no attempt to get in outside catering. The new manager appears more concerned about seeming cool than about warmth and customer service. The signs outside are out of date. Why not try to drum up a bit of business? Fizz nights, quizz nights, music, famous for one dish, consistently good Sunday roasts? Simple menu? Anything??This pub on being a crèche for yummy mummies and hasn’t replaced that clientele since it dried up due to Covid. A real shame: this should be a gem.

First post lockdown visit to this quirky Oxford restaurant. Making the most of the hot weather we opted to sit in the garden. Not a particularly appealing garden, very bare, a few flowers and a lick of paint would not go amiss. We picked Battered gherkins for a starter and they were as delicate they sounded. The main service was very slow, only one chef apparently. Paul our waiter was wonderful although extremely busy.I was surprised at how small my portion of Hunters Chicken was, but it was probably the best I have eaten. Many more positives than negatives but the garden could be so much better.

I ordered the vegan burger at £14.50. It was a disappointment in terms of value for money/quality. It was a few lettuce leaves, several red onion rings,a burger -which was not homemade- as you might have expected for the price) in a white bun with a handful of french fries all served in a plastic basket/tray . It was edible, but the experience certainly left a bad taste in the mouth! Also the staff were struggling to cope with serving customers and it took ages to get a menu, drinks etc. My friend was also very disappointed with her food. We shall not be returning....

I've been going to the Jolly Postboys ever since it opened and really liked the staff and food (although their non-Sunday roast veggie options were a bit limited).I booked a number of months ago for a special post-wedding lunch with 6 people. With Covid restrictions it's been impossible to organise any big celebration so the lunch was a very special part of the day. 3 days beforehand I called them just to ask about heaters/cover as the weather doesn't look good. The guy said something very confusing about another "bottomless brunch" event going on at the same time.Turns out (when a manager rang me the following day) they'd booked a separate caterer to put on a big party/festival/event with a live hip-hop DJ, bottomless drinks, and this brunch. They'd posted about it on social media a week before but only thought to tell me with 3 days' notice, leaving it impossible for me to find another restaurant to fit our needs (nothing fancy, just some nice veggie options and accessible by car).So yeah, I don't recommend them because they don't keep their word and couldn't behave professionally enough to let me know with any notice. I'm incredibly disappointed.

First post-lockdown pub venture, 17/04/21. Nice atmosphere with friendly and chatty waiters, however food let the experience down. Went with a couple of friends and we all ordered the ribs, costing £16.50 per portion, as well as a portion of the deep fried gherkins (I would recommend the latter). Food arrived in a black plastic diner tub with a small portion of fries and coleslaw. However, whilst the ribs were cooked wonderfully they were unbelievably salty which completely overpowered every mouthful. Leading to a friend and myself only having a couple of ribs, and leaving the rest as they were inedible, the other individual also did not finish their food, leaving 3 or 4 of the ribs. We placed the dishes at the end of the table, and were initially ignored (as if the waiters knew the dish hadn't gone down well previously), however we were finally approached around 30 mins later asking how the food was. I explained we did not enjoy it whatsoever, due to the saltiness of the dish, with the waiter then leaving stating they would sort it out. 50 minutes after this, we then asked for the bill as we were not told the resolution, and found that £25 had been removed. Whilst I can appreciate the gesture, it is still frustrating we paid £30 for a meal whereby the main feature was barely touched, and only the small side dishes (fries, coleslaw and a couple of gherkins) were eaten. Really nice to be back at the pub, but this was not an experience to remember I am afraid. Booked another table for a few weeks time, prior to this visit, so hopefully the food can them redeem itself.

Rude and aggressive manager, who clearly doesn’t care about repeat business. Some lovely staff, some a bit odd. Not family-friendly. Awful acoustics, which makes it hard to hear each other and explain rules. Incredibly expensive and vague explanation of cover charges.

Had the Hand -Battered Fish Goujons in Magnans in a Ciabatta bread with lettuce and Tartare sauce Absolutely delicious. You could have a choice of Fries or salad. . And I must say. Delighted that they now sell Irish ☘️. Tayto crisps. Nice touch. But I will also say that ONeils is the best pub in Oxford. And Eamon and the Staff always go the extra mile for all there customers. Very important these days. Thank you
