O'Neill's in Oxford

The staff was amazing and viraj was the bast bartender I ever had. Staff was lovely, drinks were amazing! And the music was soooooo good too! Your should come here. My favourite place and I’m from London so I’ve been to a few of oneils. :))

Update to previous review. Went again this morning for breakfast and Eamon again took fantastic care of us, great food, some good chats and a good recommendations for a getaway to the ring of Kerry! Can't fault the place, great food and landlord. Went in for breakfast Easter Sunday. Fantastic food as always and friendly and welcoming. Great portions and budget friendly as well.

I am so happy that we decided to come to O’Neills. We were apprehensive about the stories we heard about the platter. But Madison reassured us it was both amazing and tasty. And Madison is not a liar. What a place. What a platter. And what an experience. Five stars.

I was looking for a pub that was broadcasting my Bundesliga game, but since it was El Classico, no one wanted to show it. But O'Neill's, despite a full bar, offered to put a TV on it for me. The waiters were very accommodating and friendly.

The best £20 we have spent in a while! After walking around Oxford viewing the sights, needed a drink and something to eat. Saw the £9.50 deal which suited us fine. Hubby upgraded drink to a Guinness and we both had Gammon, egg & chips which was very nice. Eamonn behind the bar was very friendly and helpful. Give it a go you won’t be disappointed at these prices and a good choice of meals available.

This was a fantastic venue for drinking, adorned by flags and blue lights! The atmosphere is really good as music is played during the evenings, counter is well laid out too. I had one of the different ciders available, table has a classic smoothness and able to be seated away from crowds!

Came in on 26/04 and had a fantastic time. Madison was fantastic and made us feel welcomed and was very knowledgeable. Eamon is a fantastic general manager and it is so refreshing to walk into a pub and see a smiley face. Pete (the door staff) was amazing and made us all feel safe throughout our visit.

Stopped by for lunch and had a great experience. The girl who served me I think her name was Madison, who was really polite and attentive—made sure everything was spot on without being pushy. Food came out quickly and although the steak was a tad overcooked, it was great. Nice to see friendly service that feels genuine. Would happily come back.

Went for the live music with friends which did not disappoint. Would have preferred a band on Saturday too though as the music scene is not quite as good as it could be for a University City.

This evening my friends & I went to O’Neills in Oxford to celebrate my friends birthday & enjoy the karaoke. Unfortunately the evening was completely ruined by two of your employees who pulled me out of the bar having sat quietly all evening, drinking j2os & filming my friends sing. To be accused of inappropriate behaviour & the first words out of Joshua the security guard on duty’s mouth was “If there is anything inappropriate on your phone, the police will be called & you will be arrested”. Mihir was the duty manager present & equally treated me with contempt! My phone was searched & scrutinised & found to be completely innocent of any wrong doing, but I was embarrassed, discriminated against! It’s incredibly rare for me to go out of an evening. I left immediately & will never step foot into O’Neills again! I would like an apology, a response & your staff to be trained not to accuse & embarrass innocent people, it’s just not right & it’s left me feeling absolutely awful & spoiled what should have been a nice evening with friends! My advice to anyone looking to have a good time at karaoke in Oxford, don’t go to O’Neills in Oxford as it’s forbidden to have fun & film your friends without being accused of wrongdoing!

Excellent service great food and reasonable prices.

Our visit to O’Neill’s today was a chance one. I’ve been local to the area for a long time and have always enjoyed O’Neill’s for the live music and an evening drink with friends however I’ve never eaten there. After our visit today, that will change. We were there with friends and our young children. In total there were 7 of us and we were definitely at the point of hanger when we arrived. We were greeted so warmly by Eamon like long lost friends and he generally couldn’t do enough to help us. As the face of the establishment during our visit, you couldn’t ask for a better one. He was engaged with us all, including the children, checked in on us and ensured that we didn’t want for anything. He definitely made the visit for us and would go back without a second thought due to the amazing service we received. As for the food, I’m embarrassed that I didn’t know how good it was at O’Neill’s! Genuinely one of the best burgers I have ever had (Guinness burger) rivalling many other establishments. Our party also had a pizza, a mixture of the small plates as well as a mixed grill. All of us were silent eating which you know is a good sign. Then once finished, we all sang the chef’s/kitchen team’s praises. They have customers for foreseeable visits to Oxford and will happily direct friends to give O’Neill’s a visit. Yes it’s an amazing drinking evening venue however it’s equally amazing for food even for family visits. Thank you so much Eamon and team, keep up the good work ☺️

We were visiting Oxford and staying one night and were delighted to come across this O'Neills not long after we arrived. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. We ordered burgers and chips and superb quality.Look forward to visiting again on our next visit to Oxford.

Fish and chips was fantastic. If you come early the qe menu only shows breakfast menu but you can order from the bartender. Warhammer store next to the pub is a must visit for collectors.

Sir O'Sullivan is the kindest man at this pub. Felt just like I was back in Ireland with the best pint of Guinness I've had here in Oxford. Amazing food and great price during the week on their meal deals and they also have karaoke on Thursday nights. Definitely come here as I will be back!

Possibly the worst breakfast in oxford. Eggs rock hard, bacon burnt and sausage inedible. Manager who couldn't care less, rude and a bully to the staff

I love coming here and the other day when me and my mum came to o'nails for lunch. I was happy to find out they have vegan pizza as I am dairy free. The pizza was lovely and I had the whole pizza

Went in on Saturday 6th to watch England vs New Zealand Rugby at 8am. Had a great breakfast. Atmosphere was so good ended up staying to watch second match and have a few drinks. Great pub with attentive, friendly staff. Couldn't ask for more.

We visited before a comedy gig at the new theatre. We’d been turned away from multiple places before finding O’Neill’s. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We ordered using the QR code on the table. Service was quick and the food was delicious. Cleared quickly and staff we interacted with were friendly.

I had an absolutely great experience getting to know all of the staff and I’ve very much enjoyed my time here. All love To the staff thanks g.

I went for England vs France in the 6 Nations. There's loads of screens which works well until people standing up block the view. The staff are hard working and remarkably patient - constantly ferrying drinks to tables ordered on the app. The atmosphere was suitably raucous - I can't fault it in that sense. However, there's some major flaws. The music when the sport isn't on is so loud I had to talk directly into the ear of the guy sat next to me to be heard. The pizzas my friend ordered were awful - imagine burning the worst supermarket pizza you've ever bought... Grim. For a chunk of the 2nd half the doors to the pub were wide open despite it being 2 degrees outside. So it's highly subjective. If the atmosphere is a big thing for you perhaps it's worth enduring the flaws.

O'neill's is not only a great location for a good night, but they also have a wonderful team who went above and beyond to make my sister's 28th birthday a blast. Erica was truly exceptional, and made the night so special in every way for her. Highly recommend!

Lovely staff, Eamon brought over the menu to ensure I wasn’t allergic to anything I had ordered. He took the time to ensure I was happy and comfortable with the food prior to ordering. Faith brought over our drinks as the Guinness needed to settle! She was extremely welcoming and always had a smile on her face. Fantastic atmosphere along with brilliant staff who were friendly and extremely kind. Cannot recommend enough to anyone

My wife and sister in law paid their first visit today and were very impressed. They enjoyed the food and were served by Matt who looked after them really well. Also Eamonn the manager made them very welcome. They tell me they will be returning soon. Hopefully I will join them.
