O'Neill's in Oxford

Exactly what you want from an Irish pub... central Oxford location, exceptional staff, and an easy pub feed!

My wife and sister in law paid their first visit today and were very impressed. They enjoyed the food and were served by Matt who looked after them really well. Also Eamonn the manager made them very welcome. They tell me they will be returning soon. Hopefully I will join them.

Lovely staff, Eamon brought over the menu to ensure I wasn’t allergic to anything I had ordered. He took the time to ensure I was happy and comfortable with the food prior to ordering. Faith brought over our drinks as the Guinness needed to settle! She was extremely welcoming and always had a smile on her face. Fantastic atmosphere along with brilliant staff who were friendly and extremely kind. Cannot recommend enough to anyone

Friendly staff very helpful Matt is a legend and booked us a table to have the NFL on a Saturday, food was lovely best in town for sport !!!

Went mid week for lunch. Really recommend the Irish Spice Bags street food. We were served by Harsh who was lovely and brought drinks over to table and was very friendly. Very good price and large portions. Thank you!

Came in on Tuesday, faith was so friendly and gave me a five star service. I wanted to try some new beers as I haven't really been able to find one I really enjoyed but I was given a small try of each and we came to a conclusion. She had plenty of time for me. Unlike other pubs, she didn't make me feel as though I was inconveniencing her in anyway or taking up her time. Just there with a big smile and very welcoming. Often I'm met with a foot tapper at the bar impatiently waiting for my order to just get the job done but faith didn't do that at all! Truly a lovely girl, very mature for her age and we had plenty to talk about! What a genuinely lovely girl! Thank you very much for your time and effort! Give her a hug from me! Ema!

Lovely Irish pub. Breakfast was delicious. Sausages are amazing. Unfortunately can't tag a photo as it's all gone! Edit: still coming back here a year later and the food is still amazing! Bartender called Harsh is friendly and welcoming, always a smile on his face.

Was accompanied by two lovely girls tonight! Faith and Madison were very talkative and amazing people overall. Will return ASAP!! Thank you for making me feel so welcome, sometimes having someone to talk to when you are lonely is the best medicine 💊

Service from Madison was second to none, polite, kind and very fast. Couldn’t recommend a better place to drink in oxford.

I was looking for a place in Oxford to try my first fish and chips and it didn't disappoint. The service was fast and the food very good. It's not a quiet environment, but that's not a bad thing, just consider that there will be quite a bit of noise. Overall we had a very pleasant time! I highly recommend it.

Awesome Irish pub in Oxford that is actually run by an Irish man. As well as running a pub he serves drinks, collects glass and will chat for hours. Absolute legend. What a pub.

My husband and I went for Christmas breakfast which was so fresh, with my son and family, and our grandchildren we were aged .( age 5 - 77) We were made very welcome Thanks to the gentleman who served us.

We had lovely food in here yesterday afternoon (Table16 for a short while) Eamon-sorry if your names not spelt correctly, was a fantastic host. It was very busy, and he still made time to chat and make us feel welcome. The atmosphere was brilliant drinks not overly expensive. 10/10 all round.

Popped to O’Nellies for a breakfast and wow it was delicious, the sausages are amazingly tasty and the atmosphere is wonderful as always. Eamon is always so lovely and Accommodating and makes our visits special. Such a wonderful gentleman and his team are so lovely & polite. If you want an amazingly tasty breakfast with lovely staff head to O’Nellis Oxford you won’t be disappointed. 10/10

Had the Hand -Battered Fish Goujons in Magnans in a Ciabatta bread with lettuce and Tartare sauce Absolutely delicious. You could have a choice of Fries or salad. . And I must say. Delighted that they now sell Irish ☘️. Tayto crisps. Nice touch. But I will also say that ONeils is the best pub in Oxford. And Eamon and the Staff always go the extra mile for all there customers. Very important these days. Thank you

We had been trying out Breakfast locations in Oxford for a while . We went into O’Neills , it was very quiet 11am ish. We had a wonderful warm welcome from the Landlord Eamon who has been there for a very long time . We both opted for the Hearty Irish , big mistake !! It beat us, we couldn’t finish it . We went back again yesterday and ordered the small Irish breakfast. Everything was well cooked and hot, again we were very well looked after. Will definitely be going back.

A very disappointing visit due to really unpleasant staff attitude. Asked staff to serve me a full drink and not a short measure and he became abusive and swore at me. Don’t take your bad day out on your customers…

Friday night and only 1 bar staff , queued for ever - seem to be arguing with her colleague! Not friendly or welcoming in any way - miserable! Disappointed

It’s fine. It’s a chain pub. Busy so good atmosphere but difficult to get a seat when I visited. Absolutely fine but nothing special.

Called in here on a lunchtime after a meeting in town, nice Guinness and looks like a good place to watch sports, watched the cricket but they also had tennis on, nice atmosphere

I was on the search for a decent steak that didn't break my bank....and I've found it! Came in on a Sunday afternoon, when it wasn't too busy, and was able to find a table right away. The atmosphere was really good. They even show different sports on different screens, which I thought was a great idea! I ordered using the QR code provided on the table, and the service was very quick with my drink, plus, I wasn't waiting too long for my steak. I had 2x 8oz steaks served with peas, tomato, mushroom and chips (I swapped these for mash) and that meal was very enjoyable, and that, plus a soft drink, came to £20, which really isn't bad at all. Quality of the food was so much better than expected for that price. I will definitely be returning to try some other menu items!!

Not good to kick you out at midnight barely 5 minutes after band finish not even giving you time finish drink you paid for thumb down even security walk around screm at you 2 minutes go maybe move time for band from 21:30 to 23:30 if you plan to close midnight

Amazing. I have a serious nut allergy and the care taken over something suitable was above and beyond anything I have ever experienced before. I was amazed by the reaction when I aplogised for being a pest "Your health is the most important thing". Now if only this attitude could be at other places.... And when I come back to Oxford - this will be my go to location for a break. All that remains is for me to say "THANK YOU" X

Great atmosphere especially on game night. Came here with some mates for Arsenal v PSG. Man at the bar bet us for an Arsenal goal and gave us all free shots.

Top atmosphere and amazing service

It was great to be able to cheer on soccer while watching the EPL. The Guinness draft beer was delicious, and the fish&chips were also delicious!

Have visited this pub many times over the years as I live in Oxford. It’s one of my favourite bars in the city centre. I always enjoy the atmosphere and ambience. Eamon is always welcoming and makes time to chat to customers.
