What a SHAME! As waiter from up North was so friendly but what a difference to how this place used to be. Eggs Madame ordered which has a fried egg on top of usual. Fried egg was hard not oozing, cheese on top not browned, ham looked like Lidl had supplied it- not pleasant, and I really thought service no issues just the food which is the basics.

Perfect for our 70th birthday celebration. Friendly service, great atmosphere.very good Food and Wine Can recommend The Store warmly!!

We had a really nice late lunch on a Sunday, it was quiet and the server was really lovely and charming! Good vibes inside and the food and drink is really good value for money! I am surprised at some negative reviews about price as I thought it was super reasonable and we’ll definitely be coming back!

Visited as was craving a decent roast and thought the photos looked great! Unfortunately was very disappointed with the food. Beef was very fatty and the cauliflower cheese was dry. Gravy was lovely though! It wasn't very busy but service was super slow with us having to prompt the waiter to take our order, ask for a drink/ the bill etc. The food used to be so much better and with the prices they charge, it should be!

I'd definitely come again, great for brunch/lunch! Extremely happy with the service. Co hosted an intimate party here and all the staff were incredible. Food and drinks were great too, no complaints. A special shout out to Matthew, he handled our large gathering with such professionalism. Thank you!!

In the past I’ve really enjoyed Sunday roast, today I was very disappointed. Deep fried ‘roast’ potatoes that were hard in the middle, fatty meat, little veg and what appeared a shop bought Yorkshire pudding. For the price, really not worth it. However the cocktails were excellent and the staff very friendly and pleasant.

This was an Amazing experience for my Older Cousin's 60th Birthday. And as a family we had a lovely time celebrating at this location. The amazing Kara made us all feel welcome and was very attentive and she deserves all the praise and credit for the amazing time we had. The food was incredible. I would highly recommend this wonderful place, the food, the ambiance and the wide variety of options for food, drinks and classic desserts with a twist made it so much more worthile.

Such a shame how far this place has fallen. Xmas Eve had a table booked like we do (previous 5 years not including covid). Ran out of items on the menu for the second year in a row - no reason as not anyone in there and rang last bell at 8:15pm on XMAS Eve! We had the table booked up until 10pm…felt sorry for the staff who had only just joined but still, shocking service. Manager wasn’t around and to add to it, one of us got there an hour earlier which they were delighted for as it meant we might be finished earlier. Used to rave about the store but last 3 times I’ve been the food has been under par (Sunday roasts) and they also can’t wait to get you out.

Organised a team Christmas party here. When we arrived it was really disorganised. They initially said they had not received any of our pre-orders and spoke of us having to move to a different table. When our group tried to order a few drinks, we were told by one waiter she can’t fulfil that request, as they can’t make those drinks. Having ordered other drinks in it’s place, another waiter then ended up bringing the original drinks 15 mins later. We were left puzzled as to why we were told our original request couldn’t be fulfilled. It was an expensive Christmas meal but there were no Christmas decorations in store nor on our tables. I had to ask as we were getting the bill if they even provided Christmas crackers, since this was booked as a Christmas party meal after all. They then ran round the back and gave us these. There was also a long delay between the courses. Positively however, the food was tasty, a decent portion and hot when served. The groups also received their food orders near enough the same time. The gluten free chocolate brownie with ice cream went down a treat! Though it would have been nice if the brownie was served warm. Overall 3/5, I would not recommend this place for a Christmas party.

I hired the Green House at the back for a surprise party for my mum. Everyone had an amazing time, the team at the Store were so helpful and informative. They really made sure we had a good time, the starters were great, however few people mentioned the chicken schnitzel dry. Otherwise the food was great and we'll be back !

DO NOT VISIT We visited the store for drinks, the drinks were very overpriced and you were not given a receipt. Whilst waiting for about my fourth drink I saw on the receipts coming out of the machine all had service charge on. I asked the staff why they were adding service charge without us knowing and they said that is how it works there. As a manager of a pub I explained it is is optional and a receipt should be given before payment so that you can see you are being charged service and make the choice to pay or not. The manager was very unhelpful and wouldn’t take it off.

Drinks were extremely overpriced especially after adding service charge onto everything, even when you just go to the bar for a beer! Young boy on the till had great customer service and was lovely compared to rude and ignorant manager.

AWFUL PLACE drinks overpriced they add on service charge to every drink you order at bar without telling you. Kept complaint but the rude female manager on duty was either really stupid or just plain ignorant such a shame as bar itself it’s interior design is amazing

Unfortunately this place has gone down hill. I used to visit for brunch and a roast but after the dinner I had last night I won’t return. I arrived early and the restaurant was so quiet, as always minimal staff to take care of people so despite it being quiet, service was slow. They had no white wine by the glass apart from Chenin - awaiting a delivery. This has happened every time I’ve been there. The main issue was the food. Sea bass main, lumpy tasteless lukewarm mash, a thin piece of sea bass that was tasteless and over cooked green beans. Tasted like it had been reheated and reminded me of school dinners. Won’t return.

Been meaning to go to the Store for a roast dinner for a while as i have eaten here before and the atmosphere, drinks and food have always been top. Unfortunately the roast dinner did not live up to expectations. The roast beef is 19£ in which you would expect it to be very high standard. We ordered all the sides as it was a girly get together and we had been looking forward to the roast for ages. To our surprise, the food came out pretty quick we ordered 2 x beef and 1 chicken. The beef had 1 slice of beef 2 potato 2 carrots some sort of small onion cabbage thing and 1 piece of broccoli and a dried out Yorkshire pudding FOR 19£!! I couldn't believe it, our sides then came out the cauliflower cheese had hardly any cheese or sauce, the pigs in blankets were burnt and some missing blankets, the stuffing was the only decent side. My other friends chicken then came out which looked like a better portion side but was unfortunately cold. She sent this straight back and believes that it was microwaved and given back to her so she refused it. Me and my other friend was so hungry we had no choice but to eat the food. We pulled this up with the waitress and if im honest she couldnt have been happier to help. They dealt with the situation very well. We was offered a discount on the food and extra roasties. I can say that when eatting the roast the gravy was good but the potatoes were not good and the lack of food on the plate for 19£ put an overall sore taste in our months. The way the staff handle the complaint was second to none so on this basis i will be returning to the restaurant just probably not order a roast. If the price wasnt so high there wouldnt be such high expectations. Maybe something to consider for the future.

Food Matters. We were astounded by the experience we had on Saturday 22nd July 2023. We unfortunately cannot say anything positive about our brief visit. We found it necessary to leave immediately after our coctails and starters arrived. We eat with our eyes and I couldn't believe that a restaurant with the reviews we had read would try to pass the food and drink we received off as acceptable. £13.50 for a cocktail in a shot glass which wasn't even the coctails we ordered beer was also flat. Food was similar to frozen fast food which was over cooked. Management need to Seriously address above issues.

First time at the The Store. Service was great, Food not so much we had 2 x roast Beef: Beef was tough 1 x roast chicken: more bone than meat 1 x lamb: was okay but quite a lot of fat. Could just have been an off day as one member of party has eaten hear before and recomended the beef.

Attended the summer party last night - delicious free cocktails courtesy of EnGine gin followed by live music by the wonderful Harry Marshall. Great taster bites too. Food is always great here but what brings me back time & time again are the fantastic friendly team who work at The Store. Friendly, fun, attentive, welcoming (and great photographers too)! Love this place. For the quality of food & drinks the prices are appropriate so don’t be put off by other reviews.

Delicious food, we had the chicken and waffle and smoked salt chips and truffle chips. All came out hot and tasty. Virgin mojito delicious! Marked down a little as restaurant was very cold. Put the heating on and we will be back!

Met some friends here some days back, food was aight but the restaurant was so cold. Although our waiter who was extremely nice btw, explained that the heating had a malfunction and it was been fixed the following day, but it was still uncomfortable tho. We also had a bit of a delay on two food items, but the kitchen compensated us with a free portion of fries . However at the end we still weren't satisfied but the manager who was just amazing explained everything as well and tried her best to compensate on the bill. The staff here is extremely nice , I wish we had visited when the place was much warmer and cosy but I guess it was circumstancial. Although our waiter, Abby I believe his name was, definitely tried to make is as comfortable as possible, he was quick to help when some of our food was delayed, and even apologized profusely for any negative experience we had and promised if we make a return we'll really like it. Given how things happened this would've been a much lesser review but the staff and service definitely don't deserve that. Oh but the music was boring tho.

Visited this restaurant on Thursday with a group of friends for a get together. We booked a room at the back of the restaurant, it was nicely decorated, heated and had its own music. The drinks were nicely missed, initially I was the only one to get a cocktail as the rest of the girls were having Prosecco and wine, but I quickly convinced them to order some too, mine was that endearing. The highlight of our visit though was the service, the young man at the front who welcomed us was extremely nice and bespoke, he showed us to our room and even others who arrived later had no issues finding us at the back of the restaurant. Our waiter was just excellent, he was really friendly and attentive, he sorted out all 12 of us with absolute ease, solved any queries we may have had, and even recognised a few returning guest that had visited the restaurant in the past. I’ve been to a lot of high end places and have seen different service, and the way he carries himself, set plates and drinks down on the table and overall demeanour was indifferent to waiters in those places. It was only disheartening that we didn’t get his name, he has earrings and glasses on though! So if you’re visiting the venue be sure to look out for him, we definitely will be revisiting and that’s mostly thanks to the amazing service. We didn’t have much food, just some truffle fries but they were really delicious and paired well with our drinks.Overall the ambience and decor of the place is like no other in Croydon, although the music could be better, the overall vibe was really good, this place has got a lot of potential, don’t mind the nitpickers below. We will be revisiting for a proper dinner and if it’s anything like the experience we had, I look forward to it been wonderful.

We came here for a Sunday roast and really wanted to like it but unfortunately were disappointed!We arrived and were told we only had two options for tables - a big table for eight (despite there only being 2 of us), or a high table with bar stools, even though several normal tables for two were unoccupied and remained so throughout our visit. This seating was uncomfortable and part way through our lunch the sun was shining badly in our eyes and we weren't given any option to move. Unfortunately the food took over an hour to arrive (even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy), and when it did eventually turn up it wasn't particularly hot either. The staff didn't let us know how long we would have to wait, they didn't apologise for the lateness and they didn't ask us how the food was when we were eating it. The food itself was fine but we were disappointed in the portion size for the amount of money the store is charging.

Not sure if this is marketed as a bar or a restaurant but not great for drinks (no house wine in stock) and food was small portions- left hungry and service was slow too… overpriced - wished had gone to old favourite Bagattis!

Great place in South Croydon, have been there a few times . Cool decor and good cocktails. Tends to attract a good crowd and always safe in there. Staff are all friendly. Thanks to Josh and Adrian last week for going out of their way to make us a non standard cocktail. Cheers guys

This place has really changed. Service used to be appalling but tonight what a difference. A huge shout out to Amber. A server with a smile and incredible people's skills. Nothing to much trouble dispite our little whinges (and thoroughly deserved). She continued to smile. Thank you.

Came here with my friends to do a bit of work. Firstly the venue itself is amazing, they have embraced the heritage of the store front by building the interior design around the existing tiles. The venues is great mix of vintage and modern. It’s a great place to come just to sit and enjoy the surroundings and overall vibe.Everyone of the staff were extremely personable and friendly. They obviusly love working there. Our brunch was amazing the food is very good, a bit focus on quality and taste. Our waiter was happy to share his recommendations when we asked what to get. The chicken with waffles and the Chai su bun were phenomenal.We had a few cocktails afterwards and the bartender was extremely passionate about the presentation and taste. Asking our preference on our Espresso martinis whether we preferred it sweeter or more strong in taste.We all feel in love with the place and will definately be back to sample the dinner menu and a few more cocktails

I used to come here often, but less so now due to the portion sizes & prices.I came here for cocktails a while ago with a friend, and ordered a cocktail and mine literally came in a glass the size of an egg cup with a flower pegged on the side. It was so small and in my opinion, not worth the money.I left it a while and met a friend here for brunch a week or so ago. We arrived and were sat in a pair of deep armchairs, near the window, not so fine if you are planning on eating.We decided on what to order, my friend opted for the French Toast and I opted the Crab on Toast. Food arrived in good time, but again the portions are so small. My friend paid £12 for 1 Slice of bread, with Jam and a sprinkle of Coconut. I ended up with 2 small round pieces of Crumpet, a thin layer of crab and poached eggs, this I believe was around around £13-£15. Food was good, but I was left starving. We ordered 2 rounds of drinks (Tea/Coffee), plus the additional service charge, left us spending over £20 odd each, for not a great deal. I really like The Store but I feel like they need to remember they are in South Croydon and not in Mayfair. Especially when there is plenty of other options to eat and drink in the South End area.

Came here for the first time yesterday and had a roast - my food was lukewarm and my cousin's was cold. She sent it back and they did bring back a new plate of hot food (although it took a good 15 minutes so we had nearly finished our meals by the time hers had arrived). The roast potatoes did not taste freshly cooked, the outside was hard and chewy - not very nice.We were put on a table with backless stools, not the most comfortable for a meal! We asked to move and despite the venue only half full, we were told we couldn't move the booking...All the waiters kept hanging around the bar, chatting/laughing etc rather than checking over their sections.Only positive was the wine which was really nice, although the only part of the meal not made by the restaurant!

We had the most amazing evening here in the private function room for part of my hen do- Mayank, Josh, Ale & Amber are a dream team and looked after us so well. The food was unbelievable, service fantastic and the room was stunning. We have always loved coming here for brunch and now can’t wait to come back for dinner, thank you!

Before I even type anything I just have to say first and foremost, I am extremely impressed by this restaurant, so much so that I felt the need to make a trip advisor account to get the word out there. Modern but old school this restaurant offers the best of both worlds, both in function and in style. My partner and I visited this restaurant on Wed the 13th of this week. After somewhat of a disappointing afternoon at a restaurant across the road, we decided to give the highstreet another try for dinner. The peculiar name caught our eye and soon enough we were at the entrance, greeted by a nice young lady who offered us a booth seat. My partner and I were so impressed by the decor we decided to invite more friends to tag along. As soon as we sat and settled down, our waiter, a young man with glasses, already had a bottle of water at the table, almost in synchronicity with the manager who accompanied us with our menu, it's an elegant touch and it definitely caught our attention. Our waiter proceeded to ask if we would be expecting more for the evening, with our friends in mind we said two more will be joining, he soon returned with an extra two glass, talk about attention to detail. We ordered drinks and our friends soon joined us, I ordered the spare rib for myself, and the truffle fries(highly recommend) as a side, accompanied by a generous mussle deal for my partner and two more for friends. Our cocktails arrived perfectly mixed, huge props to the bar. And after a decent 35 mins wait, our food arrived accompanied by our second set of drinks. I must say my only gripe with this venue are the portion sizes, but only because the food is really good, you are left wanting, so a side is highly recommended. After food we ordered dessert and soon we were just having a few drinks taking the ambience in.This was perhaps the highest level of anything we have experienced as a group been new in town, our expections were exceeded. We are all aware that more often than not when a venue tries to dip a leg in both the bar and restaurant world it is not often a success, or more accurately one part suffers but it'll be a lie to say they haven't almost mastered both.It has the new kid in town vibe but with the punch of a veteran. I highly recommend any young adults to visit, you won't regret it.

This was our first visit and I have to say I was very impressed. Croydon is hardly overrun with stylish little speakeasy’s and so this is something of a novelty!However it’s not just because it’s one of a few, it more than holds its own and delivers a wonderful experience.Contradictory to a few of the previous reviews, we found the service to be outstanding, I actually think the waiters/waitresses were the stars of the show. There seemed to be a lot of floor managers which was clearly working however it was the 3/4 servers who made the experience what is was. A true credit to the restaurant considering, I know, they were relatively new. We will definitely be returning to try the Sunday lunch with family, but we’re so grateful to have somewhere so close to us, with such style and substance!

I've passed this place several times and have always wanted to pop in. Finally got it booked in and wasn't disappointed. As soon as you walk in you feel you've been transported somewhere else. Dim, sultry lighting, almost feels a bit like a modern speakeasy. Beautiful decor too and lovely attentive staff. Service was quick. Great for date night or catch ups with friends. A lovely place for some red wine. We'll be back. Thanks again :)

We book a table for 7 for a birthday dinner. It all starts to fall apart when we order the drinks. Each person opts for the appx £10 cocktail menu which appears to have created quite a buzz around this restaurant and seems to be one of the draws for visitors. We wait about 40 minutes and 3 of 7 cocktails show up. another 15 minutes the remaining cocktails show up. So basically 1 hour so far invested in a single round of cocktails and our food order has not even been taken yet. To add insult they serve a whisky based cocktail in a brittle martini glass which for anyone who knows anything about whiskey is like serving beer is a paper cup! So far the drinks are an utter fail - but fear not - the night is about to capitulate into a jokeThe starters truly started the joke off - the broccoli at £10 consists of a lump of over boiled droopy semi-warm broccoli with a dollop of (what tasted like) thousand island sauce on it, the lamb starter was so small that a 3 year old child would have been able to eat 5 of these dishes. It was literally two thinly sliced cuts of lamb about 3mm thick and 2cm long. Again at about £10 it was astonishing but we brushed that off being a starter many restaurants take advantage so we just looked forward to our mains. Another starter was artichoke something... All I can say is do not order starters to share because they are as scant as you can possibly imagine. Having ordered our mains we waited, and waited, and waited and after 1 hour two dishes arrived. One of them was a mistaken order so the waiter reluctantly took that back to the kitchen and then returned to tell us that the remaining 6 dishes would be ready 'soon'. I asked him to take the single served dish back and keep it warm. Again we waited and waited and I took a stroll to the loo passing the open plan kitchen to see what was going on. In the kitchen were 5 chefs rushing around and very busy preparing food but the funny part was that not a single table had any food on it - just drinks. That to me is always a warning sign when I walk into a restaurant and I see tables packed with diners all holding drinks and not a single plate of food to be seen. It was clear that the kitchen operates on pure pandemonium. Basically lots of cooks trying to put things together all working to their own tune and ultimately nothing getting done properly. 5 chefs in 1 kitchen could not ensure that a table of 7 mains orders were prepared at the same time or even correctly and certainly not hot food. Eventually after we had been sitting there for 2 hours, plates of what should have been dinner arrived. And then the whole thing fell apart....We had been told that we would only have the table for 2 hours. Well it took them 2 hours to bring us food! And since when does a restaurant in Croydon get two sittings on a Wednesday evening? I ordered the Short Rib. Having seen some fancy photos in their Insta page I thought I was in for a treat. They post photos of burgers that are almost falling off the table with size and toppings. OMG - people - read carefully - the menu says 'Short RIB' there is no 's' on the word Rib! And for £15 I was in utter disbelief that I received a plate the size of the Isle of White with ONE SINGLE deboned rib on it, the rib was the size of your index finger and the rib was as cold as you would get straight off a shelf - and beside my single rib was a spoonful of something black, they give it a name on the menu calling it marrow something or another but it tasted like HP sauce. The rib was 60% fat so the meat content of my £15 main dish was next to non-existent and I calculate that at £15 a rib the cow they used must retail through this store at over £20,000. I complained that my food was cold and much to the upset of the kitchen it was whisked off and just as I predicted it returned 10 minutes later having had a whirl round the microwave. How do I know it was a microwave? Trust me I know! I ate my single rib in two bites and only then did we realise that the fries we had been told would accompany these dishes had not been delivered. The rest of my party received their food - the lamb dish was literally two (small) forks of thinly sliced lamb. Having caught the attention of our waiter and told him about the missing fries he promptly rushed to the kitchen and returned with 7 dishes of fries for 7 people. That happened when everyone had finished eating their miniscule food. The sight on the table was something to remember. Everyone sitting with empty mains plates in front of them and surrounded by a pile of fries. Basically the planning behind it is quite evident - market fancy names mains (of which there are only 5 on the menu) and then feed the customer fries to keep them quiet and make them think they had food. The mussels main dish is of course served with no plate for your empty mussels shells - which was quite a sight with our party just having to pile their shells on bits of tissue on the table top. Quite astonishing really and not a single person working there thought to themselves that this table looks like dogs are dining at it! After this all we wanted was to get out of this place knowing that the final fleecing was to come we asked for the bill. £290 for 7 plates of food which had a combined raw material costs of £10 and I am being generous. Of this bill £32 consisted of the mandatory 'service charge' which I soon discovered is not paid to the staff. So another fleecing to be had there. I made my feelings well known to my waiter Ade and he offered to get the manager. I declined the offer. I was so disgusted with the whole experience that I could not face discussing this diabolical food and service with anyone. I told Ade if this is how the management think they want to run their business then good for them, they will never be seeing my debit card again and this business will be gone as fast as it arrived - it has no hope of survival. To make it clear Ade was not to blame. He is a clog in a system that is not fit for purpose. The kitchen cannot produce hot food (not a single dish delivered to our table was hot), the portions are utterly ridiculous and how you can serve those sizes at those prices and hold a straight face is frankly amazing! The fancy cocktails took an age to arrive and 4 of them didn't manage to reach our table before 3 of them had already been finished off! Basically my only memory of anything edible was the copious amounts of fries that get shifted off to each table and water bottles - we received almost 8 water bottles at our table which consist of used wine bottles filled with tap water. No doubt customers will continue to be drawn here by the hype and fancy pictures on Insta and some newspaper reviews that were quite clearly based on a completely different menu from anything we got served - but beyond the appealing names that they give their selection of 5 cocktails and the decor of the place there is no substance whatsoever. All the attention has been placed on imagery which receives a 7/10, toilet cleanliness 8/10, Ade 9/10. But drinks presentation and value for money 3/10, starters 2/10, the rib was a absolutely clear winner at 0/10 and the mussels got some acclaim at 5/10. The mushroom (and peeps I stress it is a single mushroom!!!) 2/10. It was the most disappointing restaurant I have had the misfortune of ever visiting - there are definitely far better places to eat locally and I shall never be stepping foot in this place again! Plus a place that charges service and doesn't give that to the staff.... that is seriously sharp practice.... very poor indeed

What a little gem The Store is in South Croydon. We visited with our 1 year old for brunch on a Saturday and it was such a lovely experience. The place was buzzing with families / babies and couples enjoying the mouth watering brunch menu! We HIGHLY recommend the Chicken waffles. Our daughter enjoyed the eggs / avocado and toast as well. The staff were so attentive and friendly (even when our toddler started following them wherever they went!) It is so nice to have such a great spot bringing the local area together. We will be back VERY SOON! :)

This was our second visit to The Store and is was terrible . The evening was set by having to wait 30 minutes for our drinks to be served. There seemed to be only one barman looking after drinks for the whole place. The evening didn’t improve as time went on and service was very slow all night. The food served was decent but everything took a very long time and they were only half full. The waitress looking after us was very good at her job but the manager didn’t seem to care much at all. The excuse we were were given was they were understaffed. God knows how they cope when they are full. Such a shame as we really like The Store and it has great potential, sadly let down by poor management on the night.

We arrived the Store desperate to have Sunday roast. Mayank didn't have any availability but went above and beyond to accommodate us.His communication skills were top notch, letting us know that he may not be able to help but would try his best and he did! The service from the rest of the staff was amazing also.I will absolutely be coming back and recommending this restaurant to my friends.

Came here for a date. Had the chicken wings and the lamb tacos. Both very nice. We received excellent service. Mayank (apologies if that was misspelled) was particularly nice and helpful. When our slot (6-8pm was up) they let us stay at our table, which was appreciated. There was also a good choice of drinks. Would like to come back here more.

Such a lovely bar, great atmosphere, fabulous food.I come here on a Friday to hot desk, lots of plugs and lots of coffee - general manager Mayank is a superstar and always checks in with me to see if I need anything.All of the staff are lovely, cant wait to visit on a weekend and try the cocktail.

Went here to catch up with a friend. We ordered a starter and mains. After 20/30 mins our mains turned up but there had been no starter. We asked the server about our starter and said he would check. He didn’t come back again. Once we had finished our main we asked about our starter again and ordered an appetiser. We were told that there was no problem and it would come soon. 20 mins later our appetiser came. We once again asked about the starter and was told it would be on its way. After 90 mins since we first ordered one of us got our starters but they had only done one of ours and forgot about the other one. It was only at this time someone apologised. The other starter turned up another 10 mins later. Nice food, shocking service

When we arrived for dinner we were sat on two low arm chairs next to each other facing the curtained window, completely inappropriate for eating a meal! We asked to move to a normal table and chairs to eat and that was sorted. However we were squeezed in pretty close to the couple next to us and it was incredibly noisy, hard to hold a conversation! Our wine took a while to arrive but the food took forever.. when it did arrive it was such a let down. The corn tortillas were depressingly bland, the edges of the wraps so hard and tough to bite through. We also had a huge lump of avocado skin in one it didn't seem like the 13£ main course I was expecting! I needed up sharing my partners chicken Kiev which wasn't much better. Decent size but very odd selection of flavours, the chicken Kiev sat on what tasted like anchovy mayo mixed with tartar sauce. No mention of this in the menu, my husband doesn't enjoy fishy flavours and this really was quite strong and smeared across the bottom of the entire plate so couldn't avoid it!

Cocktails expensive for the area and not mixed well. Food took one hour to arrive with no updates from staff - when it arrived the portion was small, cold with not much flavour. We won’t be returning.

Worth the visit. I liked the whole concept of the place . Awsome vibe and food was great. One can visit this place on any occasion and with any one. I am definitely going for hot desk soon and I am sure I will enjoy it. I would recommend every one to try The store Croydon :)

We booked for dinner and drinks on Friday night. When we arrived we were given a small bar table with stools right behind the front of house. I reminded them we had booked for dinner…but was told yes this is our table!!! Needless to say we decided to have a drink and then left for dinner at one of the local restaurants. It’s a really nice bar and the drink was really good…although very small! I would not go for dinner it’s just not that kind of place and I’m not sure why they advertise as such. Perhaps brunch and roasts are better but again I’m not sure the tables and chairs are suitable for a sit down meal more a bar snacks.

Really nice setting which doesnt feel at all like youre in Croydon! Menu was impressive and the food we ordered was great. Have also had the roasts and would recommend. I dont go out much in Croydon as working in London its a default destination but this is a favourite venue more local

An oasis in South Croydon.Air conditioning a bonus in this sweltering heat, worked here for a couple of hours unrushed and had a couple of meetings.Great coffee and lovely food, no issues when asked for a jug of iced water.Coming back at the weekend for drinks and dinner, just a lovely place with lovely people...

What a fabulous place to dine! I ordered corn wraps and my fellow diner, Will, had the linguine. Both meals were excellent! The linguine was the best Will had ever tasted, and that’s saying a lot. We were served by Juliette, a knowledgeable, professional and lovely staff member. She asked our names, said she couldn’t wait to welcome us back, told us a bit about the history of the building, recommended drinks, checked that we were ok and was an all round brilliant host - just golden! One thing though, we hadn’t booked, so we’re told by the manager (I think he was) that we’d have to sit at a high table. However, the hoards of people he said were going to arrive to take up the seating never materialised. The place was 50% full when we arrived and also when we left…. Hmmm Never mind, the decor, the food and the lovely Juliet made up for the uncomfortable seats.

I really loved my visit here with my mates!!! it was such a nice vibe, good food and drinks - the rose margherita was so inventive and ive never had anything like it !! Mollie was the best - she was so friendly and chill and made us feel so comfortable!

Really lovely place, such a good atmosphere. Servers were extremely helpful, with mollie helping to make the evening special.

Came here for an evening with friends, thoroughly enjoyed my time and drinks (especially the grapefruit spritz). Great atmosphere and special kudos to Mollie who took care of us for part of the night.

This place brings so much to South Croydon. It's a beautiful bar to look at - decor very classy and considered, lovely furnishings and a really nice atmosphere. But what really makes this place is the food and drink. Both absolutely excellent. I've had a few different dishes and cocktails and all have been extremely yummy, and I have to give a special mention to the Sunday Roasts, the green shakshuka served for brunch with black corn tortilla chips, and the aperol sour cocktail - all of which I think about regularly. It's great how you can go to a sitting with a 'theme' - for example, pasta and wine night, charcuterie board night, or grab some pancakes on a Sunday. They offer hot desking with bottomless coffee which is a fab touch too. Overall this place brings so much to the local community and long may that continue. This would be five stars if the service wasn't ever so slightly hit and miss - I've had a slightly different experience service-wise on each of my visits and I think consistency of service is key but overall, all servers and staff are friendly. But I trust that in time this will settle as I know Covid and Brexit have had an impact on hospitality teams.

Came for a couple drinks and some food. The truffle fries and Padron peppers were v tasty. Excellent service from Ashraf and Maria. Super friendly, everything came so quickly and someone was always around if we needed anything. Thanks so much guys!

We went there on Saturday again and as usual weren’t disappointed. Food’s great, but what’s even more impressive is how caring the staff is. We arrived right before the kitchen closed, but the General Manager of the venue (can’t remember his name) was very accommodating and managed to give us quick service so we could enjoy our night out at The Store.

Had visited the store for brunch last year and were excited to return to try the dinner menu. The decor and ambiance of the place are lovely but unfortunately the food was a disappointment. Our starters arrived quickly and were nice (though the butter that came with the bread tasted like cheap margarine, not nice atall). However the mains took so long to arrive I think they may have forgot our order. We'd been there well over an hour when they arrived. The lamb tacos lacked any flavour, the mac and cheese was dry and the steak was average. Definitely not worth the money and sadly won't return.

£17 for a roast, tasty but 2 potatoes halves, one carrot, one broccoli spear,One parsnip does not constitute a Roast Dinner in my book portions need to be reassessed ..Pudding was tasty but unfortunately overpriced certainly not value for money and fir that reason i won't be returning or recommending..

Every time we go here there's something fresh and exciting on the menu. It's absolutely beautiful interiors and hands down the best place on the area. All the servers are wonderful but we particularly appreciate Molly and Karim. They really make the experience so special and fun. There's nothing not to like about this place!

You have to try the new addition to the brunch menu it's amazing!! The best bubble and squeak we have ever ever had. We as a couple went for brunch and had three plates between us.... Not. Even. Sorry.

My girlfriend and I regularly visit The Store, we're huge fans of their Saturday brunch menu. The service is great, everyone is lovely and it has a cosy atmosphere. We went for Valentines last year and the barman went to the effort of making my girlfriend a chocolate martini which wasn't on the menu - delicious! We're excited for the winter menu and would highly recommend anyone who enjoys tasty food and friendly service.

We came for cocktails and a bite but wow! We had the cherry and choc old fashioned with some crab linguine and Mac and cheese. We stayed because the food was so good, had some more cocktails, date night done well.

Great place for dates, food, cocktails, beer, coffee! Good vibes, great atmosphere, friendly staff. Would highly recommend!

Love this place so much! Husband and I took advantage of a little bit of toddler free time and snuck in a brunch date. Food was gorgeous! Couldn’t decide what to have so we shared crab benedict and bavette steak. So delicious. Good service and adherence to Covid guidance too. A lovely bit of normality in strange times. Dog and child friendly too so will be returning with the whole gang too.

I was taken here by my friend for a birthday dinner and was very impressed, the ambience in there especially at the back in the more secluded part was stunning. We worried they would rush us out with all the new restrictions in place but they let us natter away and enjoy the night assuming they were able to accommodate others without making us give up our table.The waiters are fab, really warm and professional and knew the menu very well as there's some parts I didn't understand (Italian I think!). Very good at reading the room.Food and wine was stunning, cooked to perfection. If you're a really big eater just bare in mind the portions are not massive but the flavour does make up for it.100 % recommend and I'll certainly be back (please make slightly larger pasta portion lol)

Constantly trying to find a restaurant that’s fairly local that serves adequate vegan options for me but allows my partner to enjoy non-vegan food. I was super impressed with the (more than one!) choice offered here and the meals I had were absolutely delicious! The restaurant was COVID safe without it intruding on our experience, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Gorgeous decor inside too! Highly recommend!

Very underwhelming Sunday morning visit. Pancake choice is limited to with bacon & blueberries or pear & mascarpone. No eggs, sausage, hash browns etc. I was expecting to be dazzled by something different but was left feeling far from it. Menu is suitable for kids looking for a sweet treat not adults looking for breakfast/brunch. Even the Bloody Mary was distinctly average. Service was very slow despite there only being a few in.

Have only drunk here until now But the food was amazing Bavette steak for him Courgette and ricotta for me And the patron peppers - Salty heaven The man looking after us was witty and helpful A perfect night

The decor is so lovely, the menus never disappoint and the staff have always been so friendly and knowledgeable.Roasts here are seriously not to be missed, and the Wednesday pasta deal is ideal.They've just launched a new cocktail menu too, which looks great! Tried the fig Manhattan...yum!!!

We are all facing difficult times at the moment, but visiting The Store just gives one a break from the daily headache. Staff are really friendly and try to make their guests enjoy their time to the fullest. Food was delicious. If you want to relax and forget about daily problems pay them a visit.

Went here for some drinks- service was “ ok” not told the menu was online, half the drinks “ on tap” they didn’t have. Didn’t have the ingredients to make half the cocktails wanted so did not bother staying for dinner. Went next door instead

Absolutely love this venue. It's a gem through and through. I'm always delighted by the service, adore the food and am so impressed by how this place has performed during the pandemic. Cannot recommend enough - it's a safe space which lets you enjoy a night out and forget your worries.

After hearing such great reviews about The Store I was looking forward to my first visit, unfortunately I left pretty underwhelmed by the whole evening. Firstly there is two dinner times you can book 5:45 or 8pm during the week. Knowing we had to be out at 9:45 we arrived on time but our table at 8pm wasn’t ready. Normally I would have no issues waiting ten minutes but given the fact we had such a short amount of time anyway wasn’t ideal. We were eventually seated and we ordered the house wine and pasta deal. The house red is a Merlot and I couldn’t even really drink it and ended up having to order another red. The food took quite a long time to arrive around 9:10 so we had about half an hour for dinner, dessert and to finish our drinks. The crab linguine was average and portions were quite small. I understand the 10pm curfew is not ideal and restaurants are trying to do their best to accommodate but it took an hour to serve us 3 pasta dishes. I do want to come back as the venue is lovely, I just think the pasta wine Wednesday needs upgrading as both options were average.

Best spot in Croydon for brunch, roast, dinner, pasta deals, cocktails.. honestly there’s nothing this place doesn’t do well. We visited last night to try the new cocktail menu which was amazing! David & the staff were so friendly & attentive. Always recommending this place and will be back for sure!

We visited The Store for their new Thursday night cheese & charcuterie board plus a glass of wine - all for only a tenner per person. Absolute bargain if you ask us! It's always such a nice vibe in there and despite all the Covid restrictions we felt really safe, socially distanced but were still able to have a relaxed and totally lush evening. The staff are brilliant! They were attentive, friendly and all wore their face coverings. Do yourself a favour and pay them a visit. You won't regret it!

Always love The Store, went for Sunday Lunch for the first time, it was even better than expected, amazing good, perfectly cooked, really decent portions and the sides were an excellent edition. We will be back!

We went for a couple of drinks on a Saturday evening. It is table service and you need to wear a mask if you are anywhere in the building that is not your table. I have no problems with this but worth remembering as I’m used to not wearing a mask once I’m inside a bar/restaurant. Service was slow to start but picked up and in the end very attentive. I had two delicious cosmopolitans which I would highly recommend! We’d definitely go back and I would recommend booking a table in advance as it definitely got busy and all tables were taken by 8pm.

Food was great and loved the decor. Felt a little bit like Shoreditch in Croydon! Four stars as the service wasn’t that attentive.

Brilliant for a celebratory occasion. Food delicious, good drinks/cocktail selection. Unusual decor in old Sainsbury store, vibrant vibe. Service excellent, we were very well looked after by Rhidian.

We booked this restaurant for a Sunday Roast, food was lovely and good portions size.We ordered two sides which was £5.00 each, they both was good size and we was full after the mains but we still ordered desert.Sticky toffee was lovely.Would of been 5 star but we was sat on the high stools and they are not the most comfortable and table was small for our plates.Would definitely go again, our total bill was £72.45 as coke was 3.80 each which is expensive.
