Try to order food and they had nothing what I wanted they said sorry we have ran out of this and that

God cheapish beer, good food, nice friendly atmosphere with lovely friendly staff.

Good food full of local people hard working staff.

Atmosphere is non existent, the food is what you would expect to from any wetherspoons, the inside desperately needs an update. My daughter burned her hand on one of the pendulum lights in the booths so be careful if you have sensory seeking kids, they're hot!

Lovely meal tonight. Tried the trevithick Inn last night very poor. Chicken tikka gd chicken too. Very friendly .

Stopped here for a late lunch with a friend. Our food order at the bar was taken promptly by a friendly barman and after a short wait was delivered to our table. The food was tasty, hot and nicely presented too. We stayed for about an hour overall squeezing in a cup of coffee after our meal. The only negative I have is the terrible smell coming from the bathroom.

A lovely pub with great food and service. Ham, egg and chips and a pint for £6.67... You can't go wrong.

The John Basset building is historic, so it has atmosphere. The food was great and good service.

Rude, totally disgusting behaviour by management. Wouldn't go back. I don't think Claire has any customer service experience. I think the food is hit and miss and certain staff are dirty. I went to the bathroom twice and passed a member of the kitchen staff who didn't wash her hands after using the toilet. 🤢

Big, airy pub with great local details. Food and drink is typical Wetherspoons so you know what you’re getting.

Great food aways in for a bite to eat

This is one of the nicest Wetherspoons in Cornwall in my experience. It's also a hotel. It was recently refurbished extensively. Early 2023 I think. Inside there are two largish areas of tables It has a good sized flowered yard out back with several large tables. As with any Wetherspoons, food and drink can be ordered either at the bar, or through the Wetherspoons App.

First of all dirty sticky tables no customers service

One of the better 'Spoons' in Cornwall. 10 am it was quite full, I was working but had the bottomless coffee. For a change the toilets aren't up umpteen stairs. The staff were professional and quick 👍👍👍

It's a wetherspoons, the food isn't fresh it comes in prep cooked and prep packed ready to nuke you get what you pay for its not too bad

There is plenty of space and area for families to sit, including cosy booth's for those wanting a quite spot

I always make allowances when rating Wetherspoons food, it is what it is and that's fine. The chicken in a basket and burger were exactly what you expect. I still don't like the use of sticky bacteria ridden ketchup bottles and would much prefer the return of all the sachets (like most people) but that's one for the penny pinchers and faux eco-warriors.

Lovely Wetherspoons we go here all the time as we only live 5 minutes away. A great atmosphere and also great food 😁 well worth a visit. What more can I say

You kinda know what you are letting yourself in for... Decent food, decent prices. Friendly and helpful staff. Great range of beer. Quality location and lovely interior. Not a gastro pub but it doesn't pretend to be.

The whole place smells of urine

A great place, wheelchair accessible through the hotel entrance at the side. The food was good, which is pretty standard across Witherspoon's. Staff were friendly and helpful.

A very large Wethersoons pub. Plenty of seating. You can order your drinks/food via the app if preferred and everything is brought to your table. Food is of decent quality and prices are nice and low. As to be expected, can get a little noisy Saturday afternoon/evening.

Called in for breakfast. Good choice of food. Very reasonable prices and the free refills on drinks was great. The app was really fiddly so went to rhe bar to order. Staff friendly.

This witherspoon is a lovely place, not just going for a beer, but a coffee and seeing friends 😀

Great dining experience. A really lovely old building that's been restored and repurposed as a Wetherspoons hotel and bar/restaurant. Plenty of seating and very clean. The service was very efficient. We used the Wetherspoon app. Really enjoyed the couple of pints of Ruby mild I had with my meal. As with all Wetherspoons the prices were very reasonable in particular the drinks. They did have sports showing on large screen tvs but there is plenty of seating that is away from it. One of the best Wetherspoon pubs I have visited .

Good value pub for food and drinks, can get very busy at weekends though and service slows down.

Ordered a cheese and tomato panini but hardly any cheese, disappointed with the quality. Possibly used spreadable cheese instead as it had soaked into the bread and was tasteless.

Brighter than most Spoons. Friendly efficient staff. Was very pleased how the staff looked after the lady with the guide dog.

The food was ok, certainly edible but not sure if it had been sat around a while as it certainly wasn't very hot. It wasn't particularly busy as it was 12 o'clock. I had Southern fried chicken wrap with chips, the chicken to be fair was hot but chips were warm. Hubby had vegetarian breakfast, everything was just warm, even for him, as unlike me doesn't like it too hot but he would have preferred it hotter. Shame really .

A large spacious pub. At busy times can get a bit cluttered with dishes, but otherwise a decent place with friendly staff.

Cold coffee from both coffee machines and food was lukewarm full English breakfast. Quite disappointing 😞

Would not recommend, terrible food but friendly staff! Waited 40 minutes for our food but when my partners arrived the half chicken meal was raw, sent it back for it to come back out still raw. My naan bread, onion bhaji's and kids battered fish was also really over done. Was handled professionally by a very apologetic, helpful young lady but will not be eating there again as only 2 out of 5 meals were ok.

Reasonable prices and great staff. Very welcoming. Access around the back for disabled.

Bar Man, served a Man before me even though I was there before him. When I told Bar Man I was there waiting before the other guy, he turned around he was waiting long before me. To which I replied that he hadn't been as I was there first. No apology or anything. Infact Barman came across as quite rude and arrogant. I did eat while I was there , I had a Vegetarian Wrap which was half price aswell as Teas / Coffees etc, which was a nice surprise as I didn't know beforehand. Food was ok, and service at the Table was good. Hence reason for only 3 stars.

Not too bad for a weatherspoons and I was surprised at how clean the toilets were on arrival. BUT by 10pm it was revolting, there were human feces unflushed in most of the cubicles. No toilet roll replenished.

If you've been to one wetherspoons you've been to them all, staff at this Wetherspoons were downright rude and obnoxious, it's know wonder the pubs have such a bad name..

Really nice place to stay and very good value for money. Staff very friendly. Food was average, but considering the price, there’s very little to complain about. I’d stay again.

Quick table service, plates arrived without any eggs but an extra hash brown in its place. Would have been nice to be told or even explain that they had run out! Chap dropped the plates on table and walked away quickly. Not like they were too busy to tell us as was pretty quiet. Kitchen staff then shouting across the restaurant to tell bar staff they run out of eggs. Overheard her saying, "all they're getting is an extra hash brown, no swapping anything else" think she needs more customer training! Its not the customer fault they got no eggs! Should be up to the customer to decide what they replace it with!

Lovely pub, popped in for pub quiz wasn't on as only 2 teams, maybe quiz lady could advertise over mic once set up so people know she's there.

Reasonable prices with plenty of seating, smoking area at the back of the pub. Large TV screens to be able to watch sports.

Wetherspoons can't be beaten on reasonable prices for a cheeky vimto or a pale ale especially in Cornwall. Doesn't matter if you're an emmet or a local we all pay the same.

Lovely place to stay, nice and quiet even though it's above a busy pub. Would definitely stay again.
