The pub was busy but not packed, the service was quick and efficient, and the food was delivered quickly. The food was tasty and good value.

Ordered 6 main courses, 4 of which were very poor. The two Steak and Kidney puddings could have been used to repair stone walls. Rock solid pastry and dry filling. The American cheese burger and chips was smaller than a McDonald's Happy Meal. The Wiltshire Ham looked like it had be bought from a supermarket value range and then left to dry and curl. Not a good experience. Service was polite. Desserts were fine.

Went with my sister we bought the £6 breakfast which was disappointing to say the least first of all they left my bacon off secondly when it arrives it look like had been on the floor and was very chard also what look like a teaspoon full of beans and a mushroom that looked like it had been flattened to make it look bigger, It wasn't that warm either so if you're going for breakfast then i would not bother

Good quick and efficient service, quick turnaround for food. The food was good quality and cooked well. And the hot drinks are unlimited.

Were in Cwmbran for a couple of days this weekend for some xmas shopping, and visited the John Fielding for a light lunch and some beers yesterday afternoon. The place was packed and was clean with helpful staff and the food was very good and served promptly.

Good menu great value, good service, and nice food. We went early so no queues. Overall a great experience at good value.

One of the better Wetherspoons breakfasts I’ve had. Bacon in particular was so tasty. Fab friendly service with a smile.

One of the waitresses were so irritating and had a very rude attitude.and bothered us 4 times on our short stay of less then a hour

Food was really poor and not for the first time hit or miss if you have people around you that you can put up with language etc not for me sorry

Quick efficient service, at good prices with unlimited drinks. Nice ambiance, and looks clean. Toilets were clean and smelled nice.

Nice a warm on entering, clean and tidy. Ordered on the app. Staff polite and friendly, breakfast food arrived in time well cooked and hot. The breakfast well priced with plenty of options. A good start to the day, would use again if in area.

This was my last visit for food in wetherspoons ! breakfast was cold served on a cold plate, bacon hadnt been near heat for at least an hour. Egg was ok (only part of breakfast cooked within the last hour ) but cold as soon as it was put on plate . Wetherspoons used to be cheap and cheerful but my breakfast was neither .

Yikes not for me. I am sure people don’t go home always full. Seems full from when I travel to work in the mornings to when I come home, looks well rough

We have been coming to spoons for breakfast on the weekends for a while now, unfortunately it has gone downhill in recent weeks. This mornings breakfast was the worst though. Traditional breakfast, sausage and hash browns lovely, egg looked like it had been kicked around the kitchen a few times and was stone cold, beans straight out the tin and their toaster is obviously broken and they are using the flame from a candle to toast the bread and then leave it lying around for half hour before plating up. Not good, sorry spoons I'm out.

Our first visit in over three years, we used to be regulars. Thursday 3/10/22 17: 15 the pub was busy but quiet, I found a nice table to sit at, then visited the bar. excellent selection of ales settled for two pints of Punk IPA then ordered two curries. The bill came to £18+ very good value. Our meals arrived in good time but that's when the problems started. the two poppadoms had the hot damp Naan bread on top of them so they were soggy, the rice had been dumped on the cold plate so it was also cold. My four chilli-rated beef Madras had no heat to it whatsoever and was pretty bland. My wife had the exact same problems with her meal. All in all, meals that could have been so easily improved by reasonable care and attention. A poor visit, It's going to be another three years I think before we try again.

I'm yet to come here and have a hot breakfast. On this occasion I did send it back as I've had enough of getting stone cold food. How hard is it to serve a hot breakfast?? The only thing that was hot on the plate was the hash browns. The staff issued another breakfast which I'm pleased to say was very hot. Well presented good value and enjoyable.

We came in for a quick lunch today- as expected it was rammed for a usual Saturday/rugby day. The manageress, blonde lady, maybe 40s (but looks so much younger) did an amazing job managing the tables and her staff to ensure all customers were seen to and looked after. I worked for Spoons for years & she was amazing- a good old, no nonsense welsh woman! Absolutely efficient and can’t fault the service, quick food and drinks. Keep up the good work xxx

Excellent staff as usual....but the place is freezing....an Industrial Heater at the front of the pub isn't good enough... Surly need to fix this asap as Winter is here..

They was amazing my orders was prefect they give me the best table service kyla serviced me 10 times and cleaned my table down I’ll come again. Carol good s the best manager she helped me loads

I am disgusted with the customer service we were given by a staff member who I believe to be either a supervisor or manager. (A Female)This was my first visit with my partner and 1 year old after the latest lockdown. In short, we'd had our mains and had just ordered desert ad a second serving of drink.When the lady approached to inform us we had to leave in less than 15 minutes due to a curfew on under 18s. We did not know of this, there was no signage and they could have given us 30-60 mins warning. I politely said that will be ok we will finish up unrushed and be on our way. Except she proceeded to say no you have to be out at 9. Again I said I had no problem with that, but said we have just purchased our desert and drinks and would like to finished them since we are the paying customers. She then said I was being rude and she would kick us out. After I again for the 3rd time said we would leave as soon as we finished she walked off in a strop. Because of this I was extremely unsettled and so had to force down our drinks and desert ruining it for our son.

I was with my wedding couple as I am a photographer as i like to try different locations etc. However the next table had just ordered desserts i guess, but then the manager or head woman came over to them and said we require you to leave in 5 mins as children under 18 need to leave at 9pm. The parents told her that they had just ordered desserts , but she said I will throw you out if you dont leave on time. We all felt for the couple with the little kiddy and I will not return with any wedding guests again and nor will the wedding party I was with. I can see that this branch needs a manager that needs people skills asap. Not a good way to get new customers. Otherwise very good.

Went for lunch on the may bank holiday, due to.COVID restrictions obviously had to sit outside. Thankfully had a gazebo covering our table but must admit it could of been better positioned. The big burger was lovely but the panini definitely needed more filling. Food came quickly but when asking for our drink refills and additional side that we ordered we gave up waiting after 20 mins. What we did have was nice but maybe need more staff to keep everything moving at a good pace.

Lovely lunchDidn’t expect to get a table as it is bank holiday and was very busy. We were quickly seated and ordered via the app. Drinks and food brought to the table - received drinks within 10 minutes and food within 15 minutes.Food was amazing and great value for money. Carbonara pizza was Devine as was the chicken tikka masala.Staff working very hard.,

Superb service from Bar Staff...in the face of adversity. Very hot weather & social distancing meant they were always going to up against it. Well done to you all & the management.

Cheap beer and food. A typical Wetherspoons. Worth a visit if you are shopping in the shopping centre. As in the title it's always full around lunch time.

We came in as a get together had a fab time, just like to thank alex an tom, as they always make us feel welcome always make sure everything is ok ,the fish an chips is really nice highly recommend .just like to say one more thing all the best dylan you will be missed .

I was truly embarrassed by the manager of your Cwmbran store this evening. I met up with wedding photography clients of mine for drinks at your pub, and we ordered our drinks as usual which was fine. Out of the clients who came along, one of them was a designated driver and bought cola, as she was not drinking alcohol. I ordered cocktail pitchers via the app on my phone to the table, for the 3 of us who wanted alcohol. The pitchers arrived and your staff ID’d our table, though our designated driver did not have her ID, and your staff asked her to leave. We explained that she was not drinking (as evidenced by her receipt of Coca Cola) and car keys, and that we only ordered 3 glasses for the pitchers - there were 4 of us. The staff member checked with the store manager and confirmed that she was to leave the premises as a result of no ID. As my wedding client had her laptop with her to show me her wedding plans, she had a scanned copy of her passport with date of birth, which your staff refused to accept. At no point does your app say that anyone other than the people consuming the alcohol need ID. I asked to speak to the manager, who was incredibly rude and non understanding. We are all clearly over the legal age of ID, and you have embarrassed both my clients and my business. Your manager who’s name I did not get, refused to offer a refund for our drinks, and was thoroughly unapologetic. We did not drink one sip of the pitchers that arrived. I am very offended by the service received, and want a full explanation as to why the store manager was not able to issue a refund. His demeanour and personality was absolutely disgusting, and I feel utterly embarrassed in front of wedding clients. I want a full refund and an apology from him. I truly cannot believe how unsympathetic and rude your management is. We will not be returning.

A quick snack before the cinema which is just opposite. We ordered straight at the bar and was soon served with food within 5 to 10 minutes. Very good and friendly service.

Lovely to see sam back in cwmbran wetherspoons always has a welcoming smile very helpfull goes above and beyond to welcome after moving him to abergavenny we need him back pub not the same without him

Visited after seeing pantomime, was a party of six and found it very difficult to find a table as the place was packed. Found the only free table seating six, a round table near the toilets. Ordered meals and meals arrived quickly. Waitress very friendly. Food was good and the bill was very reasonable.

Visited The John Fielding with friends and had drinks & Meals. The drinks were reasonably priced, but I thought the food was overpriced for the quantity and quality compared to other local restaurants. It was very busy and had to wait for the food to be served and when the waitress brought the food there was a 10 minute time difference for the four meals to be served and when they arrived at the table had to be taken back to be reheated because they were only warm which wasn’t a Good Presentation. We had a Good Time in The John Fielding, apart from the meal and would eat elsewhere next time and just call in for a drink.

Had to be Cwmbran early, after quick around the shopping centre. Decided to have a bite to eat. We headed to Wetherspoons, it was quite busy, we found a table and used the app to order. After a little confusion with meal deal drink, which was quickly sorted, the came with in minutes. All the food fresh and hot, the staff were helpful and polite. A good experience

It is a while since we visited Wetherspoons in Cwmbran. We had to be in Cwmbran early so we decided to go to Wetherspoons for breakfast. The prices have increased, but the quality has gone down. The food was cold and some items were missing. We declined the offer to pop the food in the microwave.

A busy Saturday 5pm, packed out, I used the app, drinks arrived promptly and the food minutes later, very cooked tasty burgers, tables clean and very friendly polite staff. A pleasant experience.

This experience knocked me for six. I didn’t expect to enjoy the meal quite so much and have them go out of their way to cater to a preference at our table by their OWN suggestion. Manager friendly and very focussed on his customers and runs a tight ship. Honestly expected a bland chain pub evening but it was efficient and friendly and built trust in catering for a difficult allergy. Never been here before but love it and will definitely come back to enjoy such a great customer friendly environment with great staff and a caring manager. Made my evening in awesome company even better.

We've actually been here twice this weekend!! An unusual occurrence, but we didn't fancy fast food for lunch yesterday and always enjoy their breakfast so went back this morning.

Excellent Display for The Gin Festival. The staff are as always, helpful, friendly, accommodating as is the norm.

Very noisy, food 50/50, sometimes good, very often could be better. The only bar in the town cenre .Handy for the bus station.

Ordered a burger with bacon, bacon didn't arrive, asked for bacon, got brought a plate with bacon straight from the fridge. Laughed at when asked if bacon should be hot. Tried to claim that the burger heats up the bacon. Generally talked down to. Would be ok if all staff were replaced with children.

Just a Caveat...this is not my review, but probably 75% I agree with.

We usual come here and food normally good. Never had panini here and never again. I had cheese and tomato. Well i think the "chef" forgot the cheese!! There wasnt any. It was dry. I added tomato sauce for a bit of taste but had to leave it. It was gross. I ate the chips which were fine. My daughter had the bbq pulled chicken and that was as bad. So avoid paninis at all cost. Disgusting and a waste of money.

We sat outside Cwmbran wetherspoons today. My partner went in for a drink. He had just returned and a member of staff who brought food out to another table shouted we need to leave as dogs are not aloud and clearly it is not a guide dog. I replied but we are outside and your dogs not aloud sign does not state outside so assumed this applied only indoors. He said we could finish the drinks to then leave but, I was so embarrased with people starring at us and the fact felt un-welcome requested a refund. Yes granted a refund. I cannot not believe you do not allow dogs to sit outside a pub, as pubs struggle for custom these days I hope you go through as a chain. We visted another pub in Cwmbran who welcomed our dog with no issues what so ever. I would not recommend you to anyone.

Called in for breakfast . Had a vegetarian and a traditional breakfast. Staff were pleasant. Breakfasts arrived after 10 minutes. They were piping hot and delicious. Would visit again.

our first visit to this wetherspoons ,it did not disapoint the two steaks were superb and at just at£ 16 00 for the meal including a glass of wine and a pint of caling it was brilliant the staff were very good,it was far better then other local eataries well done wetherspoons

We came here all 27 of us and there wasn't one complaint!!! Food all came out together hot and really tasty!! Will definatly be booking again!!

I decided to come in here one Saturday night with a friend. It was busy but we found a table. The atmosphere was brilliant and we used the app to order drinks which were brought to the table.

Just to say, usually excellent ..but visited 10thJan. 9:30pm Only One Bar Staff...alot of disgruntled punters... fine 10:45.. Bar Full!! Only 1 Staff Member Take a Bow Geraint...well done

Called in just before Christmas and the place was packed, but the bar staff were working their socks off and we got served reasonably quickly. I had fish and chips for lunch and it was delish! My friend enjoyed her steak and kidney pudding. The staff were professional and friendly. Well done folks!

Called in today for lunch, burgers for 3 were a big disappointment all round - as with every other Wetherspoons establishment I've had hot food in the burgers, chips etc were just lukewarm. Why is the food never hot ? Are they pre cooked in bulk then warmed up as customers order ? Burger buns stale and onion rings full of cooking oil, yuk !

Food came out fast and was great but i had a very dirty glass, lipstick all around it but i got it replaced. Mens toilets are in desperate need of repair/updating.

Alex was a terrible front of house. Arrogant and disrespectful. It’s only Wetherspoons but you really expect more.

Santa's Grotto, excellent decorations the picture doesn't give it justice. Air Conditioning fixed, happy Days. Staff helpful as always....

7:15 am, just off 12 hour shift and absolutely starving, so decided to try here. I'd already heard it was ok so thought why not ?. I ordered tbe large fried breakfast and the bottomless mug of tea, and after getting my drink , returned to my table. In less than 10 minutes the food was there.

Normally eat there from time to time with my family. But probably due to no fault of there own the tables were slow being cleaned. Place and carpets were dirty. And chips were well unschooled.

The venue was busy with a very good atmosphere. The food was reasonably cheap and was a good, basic standard. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout.

Called in whilst shopping in cwmbran, it was lunch time so we had a meal. The menu was good with choice and good value.

We went here by chance and the food was extremely nice! I wish they had more vegetarian options however they do have a good range and the menu is good. I love the app that’s available to order to the table as when you’re with a baby it can be difficult to get up to order so it can be done in your own time. Good price for the food served and the staff are all friendly!

Came here sunday 9th of sept. My partner usually has the lamb shank. Today she decided to have sirloin steak. She is very fussy as she has it cooked blue. Laura the chef cooked both mine and my partners steak perfect. Tom served us and was both friendly and efficient. Food came out quickly and hot. Best meal ive had in a wetherspoons. ( ive been to quite a few). Will definetly return. Thanks for a lovely meal.

End of August the Air Con finally works...Brrrrr..

A real 'buzzy' atmosphere around this spoons. Thought it might be a bit lively but not a bit of it.

The drink is a very good price and the range of different bears and prices are great, The food how ever is usually poor for what you pay for it and you're lucky it's cooked properly. The portions I think especially the chips are poor

Great location in town. Parking close by. Plenty of tables. Great service and the app rocks. Food was standard food. Drinks were great especially the coffee. Would recommend. P.s the gin is awesome

Visited tonight to catch up with friends and celebrate my daughters birthday. Staff were welcoming, and friendly. We ordered food which was delivered in good time and was absolutely lovely. Staff cleared away plates promptly after we had finished, They engaged in conversation, were witty and fun but also professional. Nice to be able to laugh and joke with the staff. Really enjoyed my visit here last night, what a lovely bunch of staff that were working, real credit to Wetherspoons

It's a wild, dark, hot adventure in Cwmbran Wetherspoons at the moment.

After finishing work on a very hot day in South Wales I opted for a quick refreshing cool American pale ale in The John Fielding. It has served me well in the past too. Today was special money off Monday, so my beer was £1.99 not £2.29 (even that was good value). Barman was very helpful & quick to serve me. If this was my local pub I'd be a lucky & happy person. Sadly I live 40 miles away! I'll keep coming here though as long as I still have my job.

Great pub, Lovely staff , just very, very slow with app orders . It may just be me , but every time I use the app, I wish I’d gone to the bar instead.

Waiting for ages seems to be a common experience in in wetherspoons. Food is quite nice, but its an effort to order and a wait to eat. I'll try the app next time to see if it makes a difference.

Busy pub on sat lunch time, didnt book but had a table straight away, good value meals reasonably priced and decent sized portions too. Refillable coffee was a bonus

Always busy in here, but great/fast service and good quality drinks at a reasonable price. Yes it's noisy, but what do people expect when it's constantly packed.

4 of us went to The John Fielding Wetherspoons in Cwmbran for a family lunch we all had mixed grill. The steak came out rare and all the other meats came out looking and tasting like it was dehydrated and cooked to a crisp. It was inedible we couldn't even tell what the meats were. The lettuce in the salad that was ordered on the side was brown and also inedible we left without eating and vowed never to go there again we tried to complain and was told that they would get someone to see us and after waiting 10 mins we left. Absolutely disgraceful.

Met a friend here. Has a pint and a superfood salad with extra chicken.

Attended this venue yesterday and the bar staff are so ignorant. I waited at the bar for 20 minutes to get served due to the fact that the bar staff were ignoring punters such as myself, and serving there regulars first. One person was even standing behind me when the barmaid started to pour 2 pints, I thought she must still be serving the person she had been serving, however, she wasnt she passed the 2 pints to the person standing behind me took his money then served another regular. Very poor service and where was the manager nowhere to be seen, however, managed to confront him when I decided to no longer wait for a drink, he was in the kitchen washing the pots, say no more, Wont return again.

A well needed break in the middle of a busy day. A Wetherspoon's pub too. Extremely good value drink & food must be value too as pub was rammed full so I opted for outside as it was sunny today. I wasn't the only one either. The staff were very friendly & helpful. Only minor gripe was my glass had what looked like remains of a sticky red sweet stuck on the rim, Def not lipstick either. But this did nothing to deter me. Lovely beer in a great pub!

My partner and I visited The John Fielding as we do fairly regularly as it's usually one of the better places to go locally and you can't beat the prices.

What can you say, its good cheap food that is always of the same quality no matter where you go. A nice place to go for a quick bite to eat or a catch up over a drink.

The much advertised welsh beef and ale pie was not nice. Puff pastry lid that I could not cut through and the nastiest and cheapest meat inside not nice chunks but grisly. The gravy was like water, please lets have decent and thicker gravy.

We went here for breakfast the food was very good and was served very quiclkly. We have also eaten meals here at other times of the day. They have a great range of meals and the prices are very cheap. The food is always hot and enjoyable.

Visited (Thu.21/09) for lunch. In spite of being busy behind the bar, I was served reasonably quickly by one of 3 bar staff. Ordered a large Lamb Rogan Josh Curry and a drink (Erdinger Alkoholfrei; well 0.5%!). I did not have to wait long at all - food very filling and well cooked (hot when served at table). Bar person got confused when serving me my drink (serving up wrong drink), but that was quickly resolved. Always find this pub (when I visit from time to time) very lively; good ambience. Just missed the large TV - to watch the rolling news/sports programme - they have had on previously.

A popular pub in centre of Cwmbran, usual Wetherspoon fare, can get very busy at peak times, and can be a long wait for service.

This pub is friendly & great for meeting up with friends. Food tasty, price reasonable. we regularly use this pub to have meetings because the location is ideal.

Called in about 10:00 on a Saturday night, after eating at a nearby Indian restaurant, whilst staying in Cwmbran for an event. The pub was typically busy, with its usual variety of ales. It took an age to get served. Despite being busy, the five of us found a vacant table and were able to hold a decent conversation.Being open until 1am was a god-send, because, despite all efforts, we were unable to book a taxi without a 90-minute wait (at 00:45!).

Always a busy pub, and can get very busy at certain times of the day hence queues can build up at the bar, when you do place your food order its at your table very quickly, food is pretty basic but good, however new menu has seen a much smaller choice of food. The Pub is cheap and cheerful, staff always friendly, and the toilets are always clean and spotless. Just a pity that in the whole of the Cwmbran Shopping Centre there is no other pub that could offer an alternate choice.

What can I say?Its cheap which seems to attract,Personally I would prefer a character pub but alas they cant compete with these large chains,Can get busy, can get boring, can fill up with space cadets
