It was a lovely afternoon we had high tea which included a glass of champagne 🥂 the only criticism we had to ask for tea spoons but apart from that it was lovely.

Excellent from start to finish nothing too much trouble, made my sister’s birthday really special. Food was outstanding.

I came in for dinner with my partner, whilst waiting for our table we were served by Mal who made us the best cocktail we’ve ever had, super friendly service and I’d definitely come back again

Food is good, as are drinks. Service is always friendly, but each time I've been (3 times), drinks have taken forever to come - we've had to ask waiting staff for them each time as they (the drinks) have just been sitting on the bar. They have basically arrived with food which I don't think should happen, especially in such a restaurant. The drinks are always good when they arrive - especially cocktails - but I don't understand the delay.

Lovely food, nice choices on the special lunchtime menu, items that are more interesting than the usual. Unfortunately 4 star as I had to wait for the rice accompaniment for the curry. I had to ask 3 members of staff. The curry had cooled and my companions were half way through their meal by the time the rice arrived.

Having booked a table for 5 on the 11th August and received confirmation, we were looking forward to eating at this iconic restaurant. Upon arrival, we were told there was no record of our booking. A manager was summoned, and a table found. Not a good for a birthday treat. Inside the Ivy, the décor was excellent … a far cry from the food we were served which wasn’t. Three of our party opted for Sunday roast from our server, a young lady who seemed extremely bored and totally disinterested in us and her job. Three roasts arrived, one without gravy. We immediately requested some, but none came. We again requested gravy. After 10 minutes, still no gravy, and one lunch, a shepherd’s pie, had also failed to materialise. I asked our disinterested server if a search party might be organised for gravy plus pie. She made a face and tapped something into her computer. The pie eventually arrived, burnt to a cinder – see photo. When I complained, all our server could say was “sorry about that”. Then incredibly, turned on her heels and disappeared. We finally ordered desserts which arrived together with 6 pots of gravy. Message to The Ivy management. Retrain your door greeters so that guests are welcomed and not shown the door sans lunch. Retrain your servers. When a customer complains, ensure something is done immediately to rectify. Have stern words with your chefs so that burnt food, which could be carcinogenic, is never served. Ensure that roast lunches are always served with gravy … and ice creams are not.

The young team working there are great but the food let's it down. Shepherds pie was very tasty so I was told but the rest is very mediocre. The food doesn't warrant the prices. You're paying for the brand. Would I go back there...no.

The meal was exceptional. Frazer provided outstanding assistance. Would strongly recommend eating here.

Just a day out in Marlow in Buckinghamshire. First time in Marlow , we need to have lunch and a drink , first time in the Ivy , well never have been in the Ivy allways said we will go to one but neve did , well today was the day , went in said we did not book , the staff said that was allright , and found us a nice table , we had a drink and then, we had the food well that was great ,in all the food *5 and the staff was 5* and the place was fab too , will be back , thanks to all the staff for making our day :)

Very good breakfast and good people looking after us. In particular Stevie for whom nothing was too much trouble. We will visit again soon.

If you looking for a great terrace sitting, this is it! Amazing place. Came to Marlow as tourists. Saturday obviously being a super busy day we managed to get a table for 4 with no any issues. Staff is looking after you very well. Food is delicious! Some bits feel bit overpriced, as we paid £4,5 for olives and got only 6 olives per table. But the rest was outstanding. Highly recommend to get Fish and Chips.

I wanted to go to the Ivy for lunch on my birthday, and we chose Marlow as we used to live in the area and love the town. We had a 1.5 hour drive, and I have to say it was worth it. Everything was just perfect. The food was wonderful, so full of flavour and beautifully presented. The service was excellent, the timings between courses just right. Our waiter was so lovely (I didn't get his name). He asked if we were celebrating anything and I told him it was my birthday, so he brought a profiterole with a candle along with our desserts! I was thrilled, what a lovely gesture. Something like that doesn't cost the restaurant much, but is a lovely and memorable thing. We would definitely go to the Ivy again. One small thing, although it was a very hot day and I could understand men wearing shorts (as my husband did, having phoned to check it was OK), some of the male customers looked decidedly scruffy, in t-shirts and flip-flops. I think perhaps the "smart casual" dress code should perhaps be better enforced. It was lovely to see so many ladies in pretty dresses, but some of the men left a lot to be desired!

Fabulous lunch with a friend yesterday. Everything was perfect. The food exquisite and service exemplary. What a wonderful experience. Special thanks to our waiter Fraser. He was fun but professional. A lovely young man who has obviously be properly brought up and well trained in his job. 10/10

We went for lunch yesterday and opted for the £19.17 menu. It was wonderful. Couldn’t fault a thing. We did add the courgette frites as a nibble before and they were plentiful and delicious. Our waiter, Fraser, was perfect. Polite and fun in the right quantities. He has evidently been very well brought up and well trained. 10/10 to Fraser!!!

What a strange dining experience! Service by younger personnel seemed forced, without sincerity. The vibe inside is great by all measures. And yet the food was disappointing; I.e., salmon was “mushy”, the salad wet .. and yet the cod was delicious. If you’re a foodie, suggest going elsewhere.

I had dinner in this restaurant during a business trip. The place is very nice, decorated in a very special way. In this restaurant I enjoyed the style of both the environment and the staff, a retro that frankly in Italy is very very difficult to find. Fish and chips good and very abundant (almost too much).

Unfortunately I had to ask twice to get a Vegan menu which had a very poor choice of options for brunch. The service was over pompous and slow and the roof was leaking water in multiple locations.

2nd visit. Food was good, but everything was delivered at once. Cooked breakfast. Plus pastries. Far too much on such a small table. Felt a bit rushed.

Offering a set menu for lunch that is reasonably priced and varied. Service on point. You are always treated like a vip. Puddings to die for.

Lovely place, staff were very welcoming and the food was delicious, I had the vegetarian breakfast. The only thing that was very disappointing was the coffee. I ordered a flat white and it looked like dish water. The barista needs more training for sure!!

The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful without being too intrusive. The menu had a wide selection of dishes and there was a special menu called the 1917 menu which featured a starter and main for 19 pounds 17. The food arrived in a reasonable time and was well cooked and well presented. The portion sizes were decent, no one in our party left hungry. Some of the dishes had a bit of theatre about them including the smoked salmon with oak smoke enclosed in the cover over the plate and some dry ice under white chocolate ice cream. I think they have struck a good balance between providing decent food and something a bit special without being pretentious. Overall, a very pleasant place to have a special meal and at a reasonable price, especially for Marlow.

Amazing food - I would give it 8 stars. Had the steak tartar for starters and for the main - the Sunday roast while the wife had a Shephards pie. Really loved the Sunday roast - as a visitor that was a first for me. Wife said the Shephards pie was out of this world. Bit crowded with tables literally an armpit away.

Perfect place for an early evening cocktail in Marlow. Still can barely believe they chose us! And what a great decision. It’s constantly buzzing from breakfast through to lunch then cocktails and supper. It’s a non stop sophisticated trail through the day and so so pretty. The outside is the most brilliant surprise of all. And I can walk there. I think it’s making all the other places in Marlow try that much harder.

We went to the Ivy for Father's Day dinner yesterday. We went for the father's day set menu. The food was good but prices were high. You had a pay for a supplement to get the sirloin steak (£6), so why put it on the set menu in the first place, and then pay an extra £6 to have chips, as it's coming on its own (??!). The salmon was delicious. Then, my son ordered a burger from the kids menu, it was £10 for literally just a brioche bun and a burger. There was nothing else, no cheese (you had to pay extra to add cheese!!), so sauce, butter, lettuce, nothing. It was really dry and not really good. Luckily, this dish came with chips and we didn't have to pay extra. Then, when it came to pay the bill, it came at £300 for 3 person and a kid! We were shocked, until we realised we were charged double. We asked our waiter to double check, he brought back the bill, but still wasn't right, we were still charge two extra meals, so we had a ask a manager to check the bill again. One good thing was the little father's day gift they gave my husband, I thought it was a nice touch. Overall the food was good and this is a beautiful restaurant, but I don't understand why there is so many extra to pay, this is a bit ridiculous.

A really pretentious place that serves pub food as if it was a one star Michelin. The strange thing is that on TripAdvisor Uk the public seems to love the place, if you go to other european sites of TripAdvisor you'll see that they've given it 3stars. Perhaps because they are more expert in the quality of restaurants better than Brits in a region that does not have that many affordable mid range places. Finally please try and avoid their fried zucchini that comes in such a huge basket that will spoil your appetite for the rest of the meal. Your stomach will complain if you try to finish it. Furthermore ask the waiters to stop saying 'enjoy' when they serve the food. Its so passé it's embarrassing.

Walk in and no problem being seated although busy …. Usual standard or food and service… a great meal

Very disappointed as I had mentioned we were celebrating a birthday and other than a 'happy birthday' on arrival there was no special effort made I.e. a small gift. The restaurant wasn't busy at all, yet we had to keep waving our hands to someone's attention, they didn't approach us to ask if we needed anything until they saw our hands in the air! Rather expensive too!

I took my Mum to the Ivy in Marlow for breakfast. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful, really stylish and intimate. It's a really great place to go on a date. The people are very friendly and the service is first class. However... The food is amazingly AVERAGE for the money you are paying. I expected much better. I've eaten there previously and had better food. Overall it's a lovely place to go but I would not rush back there anytime soon, it's very expensive for the standard of food you have there. The best place in Marlow for any breakfast is Fego across the road. Much better value. The Ivy is lovely for a special ocassion, but not somewhere I would go regularly. Overall I would give the Ivy 3 stars. Thank you. Our breakfast for 2 people was £32.00 incl. service. We had x2 cups of tea. x1 ham and cheese omelette x1 Milk pancakes with strawberry sauce and fruit

Very Disappointing! Do not go here when hungry as very, very small portions. Ordered a prawn and avocado starter for £14.95 which consisted of 3 prawns and 2 pieces of avocado the size of 2 blueberries. Ordered blackened cod. Really tiny portion, Luke warm, thank goodness we had ordered extra sides , otherwise would have been really hungry. Needed to order more drinks and had to attract staff attention.

Came here for an anniversary recently and had a fantastic experience. The venue is lovely with fantastic decor, the service was solid (getting the bill took a little time) and the food was fantastic. Highly recommended.

Nice food, good service. But if you're thinking of having a birthday meal there, and you're going to take your own cake, it's a no no. They said it was there policy and put it down to health and safety. What a load of rubbish. I've never known this to happen at any other restaurant I've dined at before. Being a chain it does lack that personal touch. Family run restaurants do have the edge when it comes to service.

This is a gem. A real discovery. The restaurant is located in the pleasant shopping and restaurant street in the center of Marlow. The interior is typically English in style, without being truly classic or archaic. Fairly colorfully decorated. But what matters most is the culinary pleasure. And this is really great. A beautiful and richly diversified à l carte menu, which offers something for everyone. Fish, steak, lamb, lobster, you name it. We had the salmon as a starter, others the calamari. As a main course we had the steak tartare (which is very artfully prepared at the table, highly recommended!), the salmon and then the lamb. We took the house wine, which is of course difficult to judge. The prices are more than reasonable for what you get, and certainly how it is presented. The presentation on the plate is really of a high standard. The service was very friendly and helpful without being pushy. If you want to eat in Marlow, this restaurant should definitely be on your list! If I ever come back here, they will definitely see me there again!

Sadly not a good lunch today. Poor slow service. Did not have the starter I wanted so chose the squid which was chewy and not crisp! Fish and chips not as good as usual again soggy! Very disappointing. It was a birthday too! I had a voucher for a discount of £20 so did not mention the poor starter. This was my birthday meal and I am 6 weeks post total knee replacement so hadn’t been out . Unfortunately it wasn’t the best experience, firstly our table wasn’t ready for our meal time , we had booked for a la carte but they thought we were booked for afternoon tea . In fairness we were given complimentary nibbles for this misunderstanding. One of our party ordered the sea bass and it arrived with just the fish and sauce , no mash , no veg . It took a while to let them know about this as the restaurant was very busy and we also did not have an assigned waiter we had 3/4 different ones and there was no communication between them . They finally brought the rest of the meal when the person had finished what little they did have . Very disappointing particularly when it was my birthday and I hadn’t been anywhere in weeks.

Food was good. Service was excellent. I really like the decor but the place was quite noisy. Maybe we were just unlucky. The only downside is that the gents is fourth flights of stairs, so not so good for those less mobile

I Went there last night, booked a table for 2 and requested a larger table … but they give us a coffe table (don’t really know how people can eat there) I asked to the girl at the door to have bigger table as I requested… she didn’t even bother to help … Luckily when the food arrived the couple next to us finished and I asked to the waiter to add that table to ours…. Otherwise i wouldn’t even know where to put plates … the waiter was kind and happy to help Food was good and drinks too … lovely place but tables for 2 are to small you can’t actually have diner there … …

Met up with friends for lunch and we were not disappointed. Good food, excellent service and a busy/lively atmosphere. Doughnuts and strawberries dipped in a rich dark chocolate was a fitting desert.

We visited the Ivy for lunch, and we were delighted by the quality and presentation of the food which arrived in a very timely fashion. The monkfish, prawn and coconut curry with rice was absolutely delicious. The battered fish and chips was a classic. For desserts, we ordered the doughnuts with strawberries and chocolate sauce, which we highly recommend. We also ordered frozen fruits and ice cream ! The service was brilliant throughout. Highly recommended. One point for improvement- no one offered to take our jackets which we hung on the backs of our chairs 🤔

Special Birthday meal for 9 people. Very disappointed, 3 shepherds pie meals had to be sent back as cold, the halloumi was overcooked. The replacement shepherds pie meals still not brilliant and for an Ivy special just like a frozen meal, the veg side dishes were also luke warm. 4 people out of 9 enjoyed their meal. They did compensate by reducing the bill but so disappointed we will not be going back.

Had dinner here ok two occasions now with a group. Both times everything was absolutely excellent. All dishes, wine, service. While a good dinner will run you 70-80 quid a head, you get excellent value for that money.

We chose the breakfast experience, which is good and fresh, with just a sufficient portion, and small pastry. A perfect start of the day. However, during our breakfast the waitress seems keen to offer us more drinks and food. Even though we are still eating and drinking our latte. We are still asked at least five times whether we want to order something more.....this appears to quite annoying The vibe was nice, we will probably sit in garden area next time

I suppose I went expecting some wow… you know , you taste a mouthful and then are just amazed at how lovely it is and share with your friends ? It’s not that . It’s a reasonable enough restaurant , but it’s not great value and it’s not wow . £50 per head with one drink each … so mainly food cost … mains for £24-35 each .. you do expect either wow , or generous . It was alright … big let down was service , with a disinterested waitress , so we didn’t pay the 12.5% they had added to the bill ! We left something but we decided how much . It wasn’t £40 extra for the service that’s for sure . Biggest let down was the Malaysian monkfish curry . 5 pieces of monk fish the size of a 50 pence , in a nice sauce but it wasn’t curry … if I had paid £12/15 for it I might not have minded but at £24 I expected more . Over all , ok , but don’t go expecting fantastic food , unless a great culinary experience for you , is Greggs .

The food was good which was 4/5 but the service from Fin was sensational. Literally made our evening as we were row couples celebrating 2 bdays. He made our occasion special and made the visit better than most restaurants we have been too. Thank you Fin for going above and beyond

Delicious chocolate afternoon tea, it was very busy so service was a little slow.

Fabulous. In a word. We have friends who live fairly close by but we’re an hour away so when we wanted to get together we thought this would be the ideal spot. We weren’t wrong. Stevie looked after us brilliantly, even when we asked if we could try the chilli sauce but not have the accompanying steak tartare. We all make our own chilli sauce so wanted to try it for research purposes and Stevie was more than happy to ask the kitchen for us. The food was all excellent, my poached eggs were cooked to perfection. We were celebrating our anniversaries and only ordered three desserts to share as we were full (but who can resist pud?) but they brought an extra on the house so we could have one each. Couldn’t fault it. And thanks to Emma W for looking after us at the end too. Definitely the best Ivy we’ve visited and we’ll be back for sure

Exceptional service. Unfussy but just the right level of attentiveness. With some absolutely priceless touches from Manu and Dee (both new to the restaurant as I understand it). For example, my partner dropped her fork. We weren’t aware of any staff in the vicinity of our table but no sooner had I picked it up and Manu was at the table with a clean one for us. Dee was delightful, friendly, efficient and all after only 3 months from training. Obviously the training is superb but so is the calibre of the staff you are hiring. Thank you! 🙏🏼

First time in Marlow and I checked the highest reviews and gladly I found this restaurant. Everything I ordered is beyond expectations! Don't miss a chance to give it a try. Manu was serving us happily and professionally he made us feel as home ☺️☺️ ... Great experience I would recommend it to everyone!

Good location for family late lunch.

We celebrated our sons 40th birthday. We had the most amazing meal. The ambience in the restaurant was wonderful. Our evening was made even more special by our very friendly and attentive waiter Gav. We would like to thank him for making our night run smoothly and made it so much fun. The steak tartar and lobster linguine were so tasty, highly recommend. Thanks to all the staff, we will definitely be returning.

Lovely atmosphere and food was tasty however our “for the table” dish and the starters arrived at the same table which is a real shame as it felt like we were being rushed through. Additionally when I ask for one ingredient to be removed from the starter which was on the set menu I was told that was not possible and that I couldn’t have the set menu in that case which seems ridiculous……..

Booked online prior to visit - pleased I did, as it was packed on a midweek lunchtime. Nice decor and friendly and efficient service. Standard Ivy menu - there’s something for everyone and reasonably priced. It’s always a great place to meet friends, so I’ll be back!
