Quality has just gone rapidly down in every way sadly. I guess it’s to be expected with expansion

Me and my partner celebrated the New Years eve here at the end of 2024. There was a set menu that we had to choose from. For the starters I chose the burrata and my girlfriend ate the duck salad which was were both very tasty. The disappoint for me was the mushroom spaghetti. It had no flavour at all and I did not eat all of it. My partner enjoyed her Seabass with the truffle chips. The dessert may have saved the day as the chocolate dome was divine. The server was not that great as she at many times forgot to bring the forks and knives with the dish . I think she was a temporary server and was not very familiar with the menu too.I may visit the Ivy again in the future as on days like New Years they cannot be at its best.The Ambience is very 1920's and worth a visit if your in Richmond.

We have been visiting the Ivy for many years now, as we live quite close, and it is very convenient! I am quite impressed how they have kept their standards very high, for a long time!

01/01/2025 the best ever experience of the magnificently delicious food, a kind and professional table service by Jasper. He was very polite and soft spoken. The ambiance was calm and entertaining.The Ivy made our first evening of 2025 as mesmerising and memorable….🦋🍀🪸

Celebrated my sister's birthday today (10 September) at this beautiful restaurant. We ordered from the 1917 set menu which had lots of good dishes to choose from. Roman our waiter was very attentive and professional, and he surprised my sister with a lovely decorated dessert with a birthday candle. It made her day!

Attended with my wife and cousin this morning,said we’d book for an hour,menus didn’t arrive on time,manager was called as we were hassled to leave,he came over rubbed his hands together and said ‘so’ Very rude mannerisms,just because it’s in Richmond!! Never again !

This was my third visit to The Ivy in Richmond. The first was during our house-hunting trip in the area, and the staff were so delightful that they wished us luck in getting our offer accepted. Fast forward a year, we’re now locals, and I returned for a date night with my husband. Sitting at the bar was just as delightful as dining at a table on our previous visit. The ambience, food, and cocktails were exceptional, but the real highlight remains the staff—their service and hospitality are second to none. Remarkably, all three visits were without reservations, yet the team, despite being incredibly busy, always managed to accommodate us with such grace. If you’re in Richmond, this is the place to visit—it truly ticks all the boxes!

This evening, my family and I dined at The Ivy Richmond Brasserie Restaurant. The Ivy is our regular haunt, a place we visit quite frequently. We had made a reservation, and the table reserved for us was in an excellent spot. The wine( Pinot Grigio Blush)was superb, and the food was delectable. For the main course, we ordered Grilled Chicken Salad and lobster linguine which was truly exquisite. However, there was one issue regarding the details of the food deal that our waiter did not explain well.(It is worth mentioning that our waiter tonight did not display a friendly demeanor.) During our previous visit to Ivy, Vitorino was our waiter (I hope I have spelled his name correctly). He is a wonderful person who always takes great care of us. Although he was not our waiter tonight, he came over to greet us warmly. I must extend my heartfelt thanks to him for that.

We had a delightful dinner at this charming spot in Richmond to celebrate a birthday and wedding anniversary. Seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of central London, we opted for this local gem, and it didn’t disappoint. Ambiance: The ambiance was lovely, warm, and inviting, though the restaurant was quite busy, which added to its lively atmosphere. Drinks and starters: We began with the Little Helper Colada and Christmas Colada, creative takes on the classic Piña Colada. Both the alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions were delicious, though I was slightly disappointed that they didn’t come with the adorable snowman garnish shown on the menu. For starters, we tried the Zucchini Fritti, a generous portion that was far too large for just two people but paired well with the drinks. Mains: For the main course, we had the Rendang Plant-Based Curry and the Chicken Supreme Milanese with Truffle Sauce. My partner absolutely loved the chicken dish, while I enjoyed the Rendang curry’s flavors. However, it was packed with carrots, and I would have preferred a mix of vegetables. We also found it needed a touch of salt to enhance the taste. Dessert: We received a complimentary birthday dessert, which was a thoughtful gesture. While it was adorable, the brioche bun was a bit on the dry side and could have been softer. Service: The service was excellent, and we felt well looked after throughout the evening. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. While there were minor areas for improvement, the food, drinks, and service made for a memorable evening close to home.

Came here for my mates birthday a week ago and had an amazing time big thanks to our barmen Jens and Henry for making the night special.

I had the lobster crab cocktail to start,it's was so cold(one digit from frozen) I couldn't eat it, no taste at all. Ordered the flat chicken. That arrived Slimmy on tongue, coffee was also luke warm, sent the coffee back once, I Would not eat in Richmond Ivy again, poor food, service was excellent

Delicious food with great ambience

We had a great experience at the Ivy in York and so while we were visiting Richmond we thought we would treat ourselves again. Unfortunately we were left extremely disappointed. The chicken skewer starter was grisly, my partner ordered a steak medium rare and it was over cooked and as tough as an old boot. I ordered the lobster linguine which was utterly tasteless. Good service from the waiting staff who took great care of us but overall a very disappointing overpriced experience.

Visited for a special afternoon tea on a busy Saturday afternoon. The table was ready and had the afternoon tea menu ready. Received water, left for 20 minutes. Had to hail a waiter for service to actually receive the Tea. Realised 3/4 way through that we hadn’t been asked for tea or coffee. Eventually got someone to come over, no decaf tea available … expected a proper selection of teas. Very underwhelming experience. Bad value for money & certainly didn’t pay for the “service charge” Go elsewhere !!!

Went in for brunch, thought the food was alright but the service was 11/10, huge shout out to Denise behind the bar, we had a table but chose to sit at the bar and he was so attentive, gave honest recommendations on food and the wine list which was really appreciated. Pass on the raw lobster and shrimp it’s drenched in sauce but the fish and chips were lovely. I’d come back to try the breakfast menu which looked way better

A beautiful birthday evening out! Couldn’t ask for more! Pedro was very kind and accommodating all the way through our dinner. Upon our departure, I was served a birthday desert which was a big surprise and a kind gesture. Thanks a lot! Highly recommend.

Extremely disappointing experience at The Ivy in Richmond. We specifically went to try the truffle burger, but what we received could have been called the ‘charcoal burger’ instead. It was completely burnt, leaving a bitter, unpleasant taste. After requesting a replacement, the second burger arrived just as overcooked and bitter as the first. To make matters worse, there was no hint of truffle flavor at all. This was such a letdown, especially as I’ve always had great experiences at The Ivy in Brighton. I expected the same high standards but was thoroughly disappointed here.

Celebrated my birthday here :) and loved it. My favourite part is the snowman, it's a wafer shell with different ice cream fillings, comes with a smoky entrance, under the foam there's a hidden pop rock surprise with a few different textures. The staff was just so lovely as well, would recommend for the snowman menu

Had lovely time on my birthday with my family.

The restaurant has a magical touch to it. You should definitely try the bread with salted butter and the Shepherd's Pie.

Ho scelto la zuppa di zucca ed il branzino con salsa allo zafferano, patate e pomodorini. Infine il Christmas pudding con calvados, una vera delizia! Been back again to try a celebration dinner with my family and again got really disappointment with the food, overpriced for what it is and too simple. Food was okayish as expected to be impressed, steak £40 by itself not even few chips with it. Had calamari starter, dry, hard and small portion. Venison tartar, not great idea, too big pieces and taste let down, toast was too crispy. Arrancini balls look like sample, never seen so small Arrancini before... Service was not great over all big disappointment. Not sure will be back soon

I visited with a friend for a long overdue catch up. Upon arriving, we presented ourselves at the reception where the host checked us in, took our coats and we were taken to our table. We were introduced to our server Beatrice (B) who was very friendly asked us if we would like some water for the table and said she would give us a few moments to look at the menu. When B returned she took our drinks order. When our drinks arrived, B took our food order. Overall the food was good. I ordered the fish & chips which was nice, but thought that the batter was a bit soggy, however the fish itself was nice. Once our table was cleared B gave us the desert menu. Both myself & my friend opted for a cocktail. To my complete surprise a birthday desert plate was given to me, I thought that my friend had asked for this, but discovered that it was actually B who did this as she saw that I was celebrating an upcoming birthday. I was so touched at how thoughtful this was. Beatrice was super friendly and helpful, going the extra mile by not only giving me a birthday plate but also allowed us to extend our table.

Sunday roast at The Ivy, how very posh of me 😊 They didn't have my usual go to pork belly, but I had no complaints with the beef. The only thing I could moan about was that there was too much food and I was so stuffed 🐷 Wheelchair access ♿ - there is a side entrance with a few steps but they had a ramp for that. There is also an accessible toilet 👍

It was a busy day & service was bad. They tried to kick us out after an hour whilst having brunch. They literally grabbed our plates while we were still eating

Food always good here and exceptional staff.

Such a disappointing breakfast. Service was good but the eggs Benedict with avo was awful - mouldy avo that tasted rotten and stale bread. Barely edible. They changed the avo to spinach in cream which was fine but even that didn’t taste great - tasted like it was frozen originally and just no flavour. Left hungry and had to go get a Pret to fill myself up. Was about the worst breakfast I’ve ever had. Still paid full price, really poor for The Ivy.

We are always warmly greeted without a fail, excellent service , staff are very attentive, food is delicious and atmosphere is amazing! Today we were served by Beatrice, she was so wonderful! We highly recommend!

Really enjoyed a fantastic 3 course lunch.. prawn & lobster cocktail, fillet steak & chocolate bomb dessert! Would recommend all 3! A special mention to Beatrice who provided very efficient & friendly service!

It is just a comment about not being able to go a la carte during the festive month of December and being kind of obliged to go for the festive menu while trying to book for a group of more than 6 people. A convivial place though but should be flexible as all the items I would like to go for such as your beautiful prime beef or your mashed potato's cannot be made available. It is frustrating 😒

Always loved the Ivy in Richmond but not sure we’ll be heading back anytime soon. The restaurant is starting to feel very tired with our chairs missing fabric on the arms due to their age. The service wasn’t great (verging on rude) but the prices have now rocketed. This restaurant has long felt like a real treat without being a rip off. Sadly, we felt last night that we had very poor value for money. Food still tasty but if the Ivy is going to charge top prices it needs to do better. Two main courses (with sides) and two drinks each was well over £120. Until now a trip to the Ivy was an easy decision - sadly, we think we’ll try somewhere else next time.

I have been to Ivy many times but it was my first time visiting the Richmond branch. The atmosphere is good. The quality of the food is great. The service is good too. We had burgers and I loved the chips so much.

Not as busy as the other Ivy restaurants, but a very nice neighbourhood restaurant. You can have a decent-prised main and starter, but the sides are very expensive.

We went for lunch to celebrate my birthday. When we walked through the door the noise hit us it was like a school canteen. We ordered from the London Festival menu. We ordered zucchini fritters for the table and both had the chicken skewers for starters. The zucchini was really disappointing it was like fried batter with very little zucchini. The chicken was okay.For mains I had crispy duck leg which was nice, my husband had the plant based curry which was okay. I didn’t have dessert but he had chocolate brownie which was just like lumps of chocolate. When the bill came it was incorrect as it had been charged as if a la carte, although this was corrected when I pointed it out. The best thing about the experience was the service, the staff were excellent. We both felt the food was very average rather than the quality we expected.

Birthday lunch treat for a friend, the Ivy was the perfect atmosphere for a special occasion as it is beautiful. Had t been in a few years. Food was good, not excellent, both the options or taste not as special as the restaurant decor and price would lead to you to expect. Service is excellent though and a big thank you to Marco who looked after us very well, he is an asset to the team.

Shared a celebration birthday meal on Friday lunchtime. It was very busy and a bit noisy. Roman was our waiter and was excellent. All the dishes were served with a smile and pleasant, polite and friendly chat. The food was excellent and the champagne perfectly chilled. Altogether a really enjoyable experience.

Dining alone for lunch, seated at small table beside service area, clearly no server assigned to my table. Waited unusually long intervals for service, eventually had to flag someone on two occasions, yet still needed to get up to find someone to pay the bill after waiting and putting on my coat. Spoiled the experience completely.

We were always choosing Ivy for our special days, not actually particularly for food but for great ambiance and extraordinary customer service, but sadly yesterday after having such terrible experience,it is now definetely going to change and we will never ever going to Ivy again. It was celebration for my husband's birthday. Everything started great, we have been showed our seat and get the menu. Then after waiting 20 minutes finally waitress came and get our order. We waited for drinks for a long time. Then one of the starter came.. But still no drinks.. Then another 2 starter came but still after giving order 40 minutes all starters were not on the table. I got my starter after 10 minutes my husband and my son got. After one and a half hour later still no main course... It was even impossible to speak with the waitress, I managed to finally have an eye contact to express my feelings and hunger.. It was such disappointment actually happened after that. I was just started to explain to manager (I guess he was the one) - he just cut me in the middle of my sentence and he said "he needs to go and check if I am correct then he will come and talk to me ".. Then suddenly our main course arrived and he never come back to our table again. That's why I tried to give my feedback to the waitress serving us and I said it was very upsetting to wait such a long time without food and explanation and she just told me she will speak with her manager do some discount. And she left, she did not even talk anything else even asking if this is fine etc. Because we were not after a discount or sth, we just want to have a good service and food. Then she did not even asked if we would like to have coffee, she did not bring the menu. She did not bring me spoon for dessert etc. I am really failing to understand in general what is going on in this beautiful restaurant.. It was half empty, people were coming and were rejected.. May be there was not enough staff etc. I don't know what was happening because it was not explained to me there but there was something definetely wrong. When you mention on reservation that you have birthday, a birthday candle with a piece of pudding also comes, but this time of course it was missing as well. Finally bill arrived and waitress brought the bill and said as agreed she removed the dessert.. We were not agreed on this, tbh we could not even communicate.. I am not after a compansation or sth, I just wanted good time with my family and celebrate a moment in a nice place and all ruined... I don't think noone deserves such service. I don't want to say it is also waitress' mistake because she was very busy.. But if this is the case it supposed to be explained beforehand to us, such as service time is going to be longer and apologise for that etc. But no, this is also never happened. I am deeply sorry that we will not continue our tradition, but it will not be hard to find another celebration place in Richmond... I will avoid Ivy and suggesting you do the same if you are looking for a proper customer service..

Very good selection of vegan dishes. Had a beetroot salad because I don't really like beetroot but like to challenge my taste 😉 it was super tasty! And the vegan burger was one of the best I ever had. Not a meaty kind but made of mushrooms I think? Lovely and flavoursome. Deserts could be better, I don't consider sorbet or fruit salda are rather healthy food 😉

Beautiful. We celebrated our son's birthday with a lunch at the Ivy. It lived up to our expectations.👍🏽 Food was amazing.👍🏽 Our waitress was on the ball and top notch. Please pass on our thanks (i think she was South African, blonde hair, massive apologies if i got that wrong) They also provided a little cake for our man to blow out. You get what you pay for here 😀 The only tiny negative was it was abit loud but was only due to how busy the restuarant was.

A nice environment to eat out in. We thought the food was pretty good, bit overpriced for what it was and modest portion sizes. We ordered the salmon main for our 12yr old daughter and had to order extra mash potatoes as the salmon only came with some broccoli. £30 total for both. We thought this somewhat poor value. There are plenty of other locations in Richmond to choose from where value for money is higher.

While I typically refrain from leaving negative reviews, I feel it's necessary to provide an honest account of my experiences at The Ivy. The ambiance, as always, is pleasant, and the staff are unfailingly polite, though regrettably inattentive. However, the true disappointment lies in the food, which remains consistently below par. For a restaurant of this calibre, one expects far more than the mediocrity consistently served. Moreover, there remains a rather disconcerting issue with their point-of-sale system. When the bill exceeds £100 (an easy feat for two), diners are required to enter their PIN, which then appears on the receipt as the "table number." This information is seemingly stored in a database, which raises concerns about security. The PIN is displayed, and with little effort, an unscrupulous individual could easily memorize the CVV code from the back of the card. I have raised this issue with management, but it seems this practice has persisted for years. It is perplexing why such a system remains in place, especially given the potential risks involved. In summary, while The Ivy may exude charm and grace, it falls significantly short in both its culinary offerings and safeguarding of customer data. A rather unfortunate combination, to say the least.

Excellent food and service on a busy Saturday night. A misunderstanding was quickly rectified and we were looked after extremely well. Highly recommended!

A really great place to eat but the choice of puddings is simply dreadful. Get yourself a decent pastry chef…the place cries out for an apricot soufflé

A wonderful impromptu visit to The Ivy Richmond with bar seating and a great mix of atmosphere, great friendly service from Harry and Martin who deserve a big shout out. My Steak Tartar & Truffle Fries didn’t disappoint, along with the delicious Ivy Rosè wine. Lovely also meeting Ines with her running the show. I look forward to returning soon!

Very nice, as always with The Ivy. I’ve marked the food down as the new-to-menu French Onion Soup wasn’t to my taste, consisting mostly of bread cubes, and I’ve marked the atmosphere down as the table was quite cramped. But, overall good.

Today my family and I came to the ivy richmond for a birthday dinner. We had the pleasure of being served by a lovely lady called Mercedes who made sure that we where having the best experience possibe. What a great experience!!

My family and I had an amazing time at the Ivy. The food was perfect and the service from Mercedes in particular was first class. We will definitely be returning.

Good night out. We did however get out right next to the disabled toilet. It is just not a great place to sit when you have come out for a birthday meal. I highly recommend the Ivy removes that table as it is not right. Also the Apple Tart dessert is off the menu. Gutted.

Great location, just down road from station. Friendly staff, reasonably quick to serve. Quite expensive for what you get but it is quite a posh place. Food was good quality. On the day I visited the server said the table is just for 1 hour, not sure if that's always the case I don't live nearby but would reccomend 👍

Had an impulsive solo breakfast when in Richmond last week and enjoyed the set breakfast outside in the sun. The staff were chatty and offered very good service. Rebooked for a couple weeks time for my anniversary.

The decor is lovely and the staff very lovely and friendly, but in comparison to the Ivy in Brighton it was disappointing. The noise was horrendous we couldn't hear each other at all, it was that loud it made me feel anxious. The food was just OK, nothing special, I have had been in less well none establishments. Overall it was ok, I wouldn't return to this restaurant but I will still try out other Ivy's in other destinations, iam sure there are more special ones just like the Brighton one.

Great, friendly service. Good atmosphere and beautiful space. The pancakes were delightful and the English breakfast was everything we were looking for! The tiny little accents like serving warm milk with coffee are details that deserves a 5 star experience.

We always enjoy the Ivy menu and this was no exception. Originally not given the reduced price set menu available until 6.30 and then the bill had charged as if we hadn't ordered off it - so check the bill! However service was very friendly and food was good as always.

One starter came out before the other went cold, did not give us plates or our drinks. Chased us barley any apology. Had bread which was nice and arancini balls which were dry. No apology when the bill came, the drink came after we chased for the 3rd time. Would not recommend at all, £33 still hungry with terrible service given.
