Gaucho - Richmond in Richmond upon Thames

Our Estonian staff member was amazing. Fantastic service , and treated us like royalty. Been to Swallow street & the 02 venues but this one the best by far.

Great dinner and lovely atmosphere — perfect for good conversation and a relaxing evening.

Mother’s Day was a bit rushed and the roast dinner was a little dry. My daughter was unable to chew her meat. Usually my favourite Gaucho, especially in the summer. Il stick to having steak next time.

Robert was a brilliant waiter and we had a great time celebrating Mothers Day All the food came on time and cooked perfectly. The Finca Ambrosio (Malbec) was a nice finishing touch, but the citrus negroni was definitely my favourite!

Food was great. Felt a bit rushed, so food came up very quickly. When you’re spending quite a lot on your meal it would be nice to just be able to take your time. I appreciate that the tables had a time limit but most places do and I have not felt rushed like that. Staff were great, steaks were great like usual.

Whilst nice in parts, in general we felt our visit wasn’t nearly as good as when we came in a bigger group in November. We were really disappointed with the sides in particular. The chips seemed like they had been cooked and reheated so weren’t nice at all, the mushrooms had next to no flavour. One of the steaks our party got was tasty, but very very tough, which was a shame. The prawn starter was very very nice though.

I would like to thank everyone at Gaucho Richmond for such a memorable birthday, the beef was absolute delicious, all cuts of it, the sides dishes, the whole meal was absolutely excellent which is a change from most restaurants nowadays when the staff don’t seem very bothered. Highly recommend, will be back again so soon! Thank you Sam x

Maria was a fantastic member of staff, who knew everything we asked (wine, meat, specialities), however, sadly the wagyu was overcooked, and for the price you're paying to enjoy the food, it wasn't as good as it has been in the past. It may just have been a super busy night.

Love the Richmond location. Recently had my birthday here with friends. Food, service ambiance all perfect. We still treat this as a special occasion place. Even got a free bottle of bubbly and desert which was great. Will continue to visit this venue throughout the summer. Love it.

The service is really good, the selection of wines is excellent, food is good however main dishes go without any sides, and 3 tiny pieces of broccoli cost you additionally 7£. The most expensive restaurant in Richmond I’ve being so far, I find the food a bit overpriced, the rest is good.

The restaurant crammed in as many people as possible on Valentine’s Day leaving it noisy and crowded, resulting in having to ask diners to come out of their chairs to create walking space. Not the ambience you would expect for a special occasion. Staff were nice and food was good - in general it didn’t feel very premium or special due to the rest and there are others nearby that probably offer a better experience.

Very good atmosphere and food was lovely. Came out hot. The waitress was attentive. Given a 4 as when you go out to dinner in such a place you don’t want to be seeing a dog for the quality of money you’re paying. And yes there was a dog in the restaurant which wasn’t a guide one!

Starters were good, waiter very pleasant and helpful. Main took so long to arrive and we were disappointed with quality of the steaks, expected better as they are usually great. Waitress who took the bill could have asked how everything was but didn’t just took payment for bill. Overall, we won’t be in a rush back, there are better gaucho’s than Richmond one.

Been to gauchos several times usually having the the sausage platter followed by the steak tasting menu This time Although very nice not up to the usually very high standard we have come to expect so felt expensive for what we had Also trying to charge me £32 service charge for 2 people having a meal seemed excessively high

Despite booking, the wait for a table was around 15minutes. We were then given a table of 4 instead of the table for 5 I had booked and the high chair placement option was impractical. I then had to request a table for 5 per my booking and had to wait a further 10mins for the table to be cleared. Not a great start, but once seated the food was great.

Lovely spot on the river. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable about all the different cuts, talking through them whilst showing us each one on a platter. This was a nice touch. The steak was absolutely delicious and we were given plenty of time to relax. They did not rush us at all. Would definitely go back!

Most of the food was excellent, however the fries were disappointing - strange crunchy/stale texture. Service was inconsistent. Wine list excellent but by the glass offering poor. Dessert menu lacking variety (all very sweet and cream forward - could do with a lighter / fresher choice). Location lovely but tricky for taxi or those less mobile. Table we were seated at was a bit dark but others seemed to be better lit.

We celebrated our friend's 50th birthday here. Food was above par although I have had better steak at other restaurants. Ambiance was nice and waiters are very helpful and attentive. There is no parking next to the restaurant so we have had to park at the town's main carpark and walk the rest of the way along the river path.

The steaks are wonderful and beautifully cooked but the sides and the Sunday roast a little disappointing. The service was friendly, helpful and attentive. It’s a bit pricey and our table a little small so felt a bit cramped, and if I’m being picky the decor could do with a refresh. That said we had a lovely time and will probably go back.

I took my daughter for her birthday because it's her favorite restaurant. I'm visiting from the US, and I saw why it's her favorite. The food was great, the staff were attentive, and the ambiance was lovely. They also had handicap accessibility that I needed.

A pleasant lunch time Anniversary meal despite the tempest raging outside. Friendly service and the lunch menu was more than expected. A glass of gratis bubbly as a welcome was much appreciated.

The roast dinner was superb. Wonderful service. We had a fairly noisy family group next to us, and the tables are very close together making it difficult to hear across the table, which made I hard work a times Also, parking in Richmond is not at all easy, or cheap, to park in.

Our first and very definitely not our last time at Gaucho - we loved it. The set menu was excellent value with all three courses being absolutely top quality and delicious, the sirloin in particular was outstanding. The service was attentive and efficient. Most of all, however, we loved the fact that our two dogs were warmly welcomed and very happy under the table (although the steak was very tempting for them). Thank you.

We have eaten at other Gaucho restaurants and have always had a lovely meal. This was booked as a Boxing Day meal after a day at the races and we both felt confident that it would be equally as good as the other Gauchos. Unfortunately this was not the case - we had a family with a small child on the table next to us who allowed him to roll around the floor causing a lot of disruption. I appreciate families have the same right to eat out but this was 8.30 at night. My husband ordered the sirloin which was not a top quality cut, was very gristly and lukewarm. The mushrooms we ordered were very greasy and again lukewarm. My desert of chocolate brownie was stone cold and very dry. The general ambiance was poor and not value for money. Our waitress was very helpful and listened to our concerns - which resulted in a 25% discount off our bill. It wasn’t about the money we knew the evening would be expensive but we were more than happy to pay for a positive and enjoyable Boxing Day experience. This was not the case. Unfortunately we will not be returning to any Gauchos anytime soon.

Our server was polite and kept checking in, the menu is the same second year we tried gaucho for Christmas , the crackers have been scrimped on, one per two people and no gift inside just hat and a joke, the food arrived fairly swiftly compared to last years long wait, the food quality is poor and realistically if I could pay a price for what to food was worth it would be like a wowcher £40 set menu , the ice cream seemed to be different for everyone , the people on the left of us had strawberry and we got caramel ( same dessert) I would rate it good but I wouldn’t recommend it, for Christmas I would spend a tiny bit more and avoid . To improve , also got told on the phone we couldn’t bring our small well behaved dog and I saw a dog across us that was dressed up in a Santa outfit which I found awful. Just because you didn’t want to reject at the door , make an exception for all or none… and we felt guilt for leaving our one at home . Please improve on your Christmas crackers , improve on bigger cheese selection / portion we had the tiniest amount for 3 people to share and please keep things consistent my Turkey was small cut Turkey slices and mums had 2 long slices which looked like more …

Went to celebrate an important occasion so knew it would be on the pricey side. The staff were amazing; knowledgeable, friendly, efficient, attentive. We had an amazing night, the celebration was well marked in appropriate style. We didn't feel rushed at our table and were made to feel very special. I would whole-heartedly recommend Gaucho Richmond. It's not a cheap option, but the food. service, quality and entire experience is one to be relished and enjoyed - if you can afford it

I am a regular customer of Gaucho in Richmond. Sunday roast at Gaucho is great and you can't miss the cookie dough, it's devine. Great choices of meat, all grass fed and the service is very good. Highly recommend. Will be back very soon, maybe next weekend :)

Amazing place cannot fault the food or friendly staff, just so off putting seeing dogs sat up to the table eating, I’m all for dog friendly but this is disrespectful to other diners, two tables of couples had let there dogs sit on the chairs up to the table,

Service was great and we were well looked after by Ivan. Steak was good but lukewarm as unfortunately it was served on a cold plate. I tried hurrying to eat and that was not fun. Sides were terrible. Fries were tasteless and too dry with not much to them. Broccoli was bland. Mac truffle and cheese overcooked.

This was our first visit to Gaucho in Richmond but will definitely not be the last! We were looked after by Melvin who was so attentive and helpful. Nothing seemed too much trouble for him. We were a party of 8 celebrating my daughter's birthday and the table we had was perfect. The meat was exceptional as was the vegetables that accompanied the unlimited roast. The cocktails were some of the best we have tasted. I love the decor of the restaurant and will definitely be returning soon.
