Very unhappy with the food served here at dinner. I had prawns and fries, my friend had the monkfish - both dishes were quite unpleasant. The service wasn’t great - we had to keep flagging people down. They did ask if we enjoyed our meal. When I said that the drinks were good but the food really wasn’t, all we got was a blank look. Such a shame. It’s a lovely spot, and I’ve been a few times for brunch (but not recently) and it had been good. There was smell of bad fried food that hung around the boat. Not sure what’s happened here, but certainly won’t be returning to eat.

This a nice place. The food is pretty standard, nothing special but not bad either. I had the shukshuka and it was well cooked with average taste. It wasn’t watery though which is good. The main reason to come here is the quaint setting. It’s lovely to sit on a boat, and the view of the river is very pretty. The staff are nice too. I would recommend it just to experience the setting, but don’t expect amazing food.

Went here for a hen do with 12 people - all fine - ordered lots of drinks and cocktails probably about £50 per head - plus we ordered lots of nibbles and sides to share - the manager came over to our table half way through our 2-hour slot to interrupt and say we all have to order a main meal (£20 each) as per the ‘booking terms’ emailed to us - there were no booking terms that stipulated this on the emails to us - we said we had ordered nibbles and we had all ordered about 5 drinks each which is more than enough - she said that because we didn’t order food this was a serious loss of revenue for the restaurant and that they could have got someone else to book our tables (even though there were loads of empty tables there anyway- see pictures) super bad service and left bad taste in everyone’s mouth - if they wanted to moan about not getting £20 a head on food (when they were already getting £50 a head on drinks) they should have emailed after the event - not approached the bride to be in person

I was extremely disappointed with my recent visit to your restaurant. We were told there would be a 45-minute wait for a table, which we accepted in good faith. However, we ended up waiting 1 hour and 30 minutes, while others who arrived after us were seated before us. When I politely asked the host about the delay, it became clear we had been forgotten. Instead of acknowledging the mistake or offering an apology, she simply walked away without a word. I found this behaviour incredibly rude and dismissive. The manager did offer us a table then but we declined. This experience left me feeling disrespected and unwelcome. I won’t be returning and will certainly not be recommending this establishment to others.

It’s a cute little boat cafe on the river in Richmond. We were very excited about trying it out. Made a reservation in advance so saved us time to queue etc to get a table. They’ve got an indoor area and outdoor seating on the terrace which is where we sat. The atmosphere is nice with beautiful views of the river. The food was very good! They’ve got a few brunch options. The coffee was good as well. We got a dirty daisy vegetarian option and avocado toast with poached eggs. The service however was a bit slow. They took a while to bring the drinks out and we had ask twice for them. Then they brought the wrong order out for us, they gave us another tables order, which isn’t too bad for a one off mistake but they were getting a lot of tables orders mixed up so that came off as a bit unprofessional to us. Other than we enjoyed our time there and the food and coffee were lovely.

Great location, cute boat on the riverside. Service was poor, we waited 30 minutes for our drink to come. Ordered and when our food arrived it was given to the table next to us in error. They then brought it to me less than a minute later, the food was not hot. I returned it and a fresh plate was brought within minutes. It clearly was the same plate. I was with my daughter and she does not like a fuss so I accepted the food. Had I been with others, I would have returned the food and left. Felt it was a waste of £60 for a treat we were looking forward to that ended in disappointment.

The restaurant was alone and they didn't want to serve us, what a shame that such a beautiful place, the attention is so bad.

ReNu is an exceptional waitress who has very good menu knowledge and was able to explain and guide us with our order, very attentive as well which isn’t common to find in London

Im so disappointed in this place. I really wanted to love it. I came for lunch with my boyfriend today and we were sat on the terrace which was lovely in the sun. When we were sat, the hosts just placed the menus down and disappeared. It took ages to take our order and we had to chase down a waitress for a drinks menu. I hate to say it- but the staff definitely need more training as it seemed like it was their first day! They had no idea what they were doing, I could tell the place was understaffed which to be fair was not their fault and im sure they were trying their best. All our glasses were dirty- there was even something floating in my boyfriends beer. When our order eventually came- some of our food was missing and it tasted okay. Nothing special and very overpriced for the size. The only saving grace was the female manager who was very apologetic and took service charge off. Its probably not even worth it to write this review as i’ve noticed they dont respond to any of them. SO DISSAPPOINTING

Despite having a reservation, we were left waiting to be acknowledged in an almost empty venue. Once seated, it took 30 minutes just to receive two drinks that never arrived. The waiter didn’t bother to explain the menus or make us feel welcome. To make matters worse, a staff member was loudly polishing cutlery right next to our table - disruptive, unprofessional, and incredibly overstimulating. We decided to leave. Truly disappointing service from start to finish.

From the moment we arrived, we felt unwelcome. There were no smiles or any kind of warm greeting at the entrance, which immediately gave off a cold and uninviting atmosphere. When asked which menu we wanted, we requested the drinks menu and were shown to our table. However, once we were ready to place our drink orders, we were abruptly asked for ID. One of our group members, a responsible adult wearing a wedding ring and mother of two, did not have a physical ID on her but was able to present a valid digital version. It was frustrating and frankly unreasonable that this was not accepted. What’s more, we were not informed at the entrance or when asking for the drinks menu that physical ID would be strictly required. This lack of clear communication wasted our time and left us feeling embarrassed and unwelcome. As a result, we decided to leave without ordering anything. It was a disappointing and uncomfortable experience, and sadly, not the kind of first impression that encourages return visits or recommendations. We hope you’ll consider improving both your customer service approach and communication regarding ID policies to avoid similar experiences for future guests.

I just went with my friend for a coffee and a cake. And we are very disappointed because soon we left a waitress running after us asking if we paid the bill. And she doubts about us if we really paid the bill. I think a place like that should be better managed to dont happen this situation again,because it was so embarrassing to be judged like that. My friend has a booking soon for her birthday and now we aren't sure if we will come back anymore.....

Went for a double date on a Saturday night. We had booked a table for 4 at 7:45 and asked if we could sit inside as it was quite cold but they said they didn’t have any space (even though when each of us went to the toilet the same table of 4 was available). The waiter came to take our drink orders and they didn’t have any classic cocktails on the menu so we asked if they could do them and they said no only what’s on the menu (4 out of 10 of the menu cocktails weren’t available that night). We asked if he could check with the bar man and the waiter said no. So anyway proceeded to order all our food. Again a very limited selection of about 5 mains of which 2 weren't available. After 1 hour of waiting for food they came out and said they’re was an issue putting the order through so could they retake our order. After another hour the food came out and they said they would take off the starters as an apology. 30 mins after we finished the starters the mains then came out. All of the food was presented lovely and no problems with the starters, however we all ordered steak medium rare, some came out still mooing and another was very tough and over cooked. They were also very flavourless. We were all freezing and bored of waiting for over 2 hours for food by this point so ate minimal steak. The table next to us also had issues with wait times & one lady received her main and her friend didn’t so we’re eating at different times. When the bill came they had only removed the bread & olives to apologise. About £350 later

TOURISTS TRAP!!! Being local this is definitely not a Richmond style restaurant, almost no service at all, staff is below critical!

Visited with friends and honestly felt the place was overpriced for what we got. We shared one starter between two people, had three chicken parmigianas with fries, two beers, one Diet Coke, one dessert to share among three, and three espressos. The total came to £156, including an £18 service charge — which felt steep considering the overall experience. The food was decent but nothing special, and the portion sizes didn’t quite justify the price. Customer service was okay — staff were polite but not particularly attentive or warm. For that kind of bill, we expected either a more memorable meal or standout service (ideally both). Not sure I’d return, especially when there are better-value options around.

Not great small portions not very warm overpriced drinks especially the low cal tonic drinks . Felt a bit unprofessional and not as it appears advertised. Although bank holiday limited menu meant that our late lunch couldn't be met . But this wasn't stated online ... Toilets were vile

Tasty brunch by the waterside. Best to make a booking ahead of time but tables are available for walk-ins on a limited basis. Service isn’t super fast but the staff are friendly and this place is lovely to sit for brunch on the riverside on a sunny day. If you’re looking for something a bit different this may fit the bill!

We stopped by at Peggy Jean this after to have some drinks.We grabbed a table outside, ordered a couple of drinks, and shared some olives. Simple, but perfect. The service was friendly, never rushed. Would definitely return, next for full brunch😉.

We went for lunch there and ordered Salmon Royale with Moroccan Tea and Hot Cappuccino, it was good! The place and ambience is very nice, the restaurant is on the dock just beside the river. Pretty scenery, but we could tell it would get very hot in the summer. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. Nice and fast services! You can get there easily by foot from Richmond station. We came as walk-ins and lucky to get seats right away. I think at certain times or seasons you need reservation to get a place, because not long after when we were done there was quite a queue waiting to get seated.

Great spot and atmosphere. Food and wine good too. Service a little patchy - staff could maybe look a bit smarter and more attentive. Toilets were a mess and when this was pointed out to staff nothing was done about it. Something like this really puts me off visiting again as it shows a lack of care and is generally unpleasant. Plus they are charging a lot for the location ( fair enough) but least they can do is keep the toilets in an acceptable state.

The pancake and sweetcorn fritters was absolutely amazing, however the ice matcha latte I ordered didn’t have any ice in it, since it melted before the drink arrived, and it did not taste of matcha at all. It was practically milk with a green hue to it, I could not finish it. There wasn’t any waiters coming over to ask if the food was okay, so I couldn’t even tell them about it.

Visited Peggy Jean’s for the first time for my partners 40th birthday. We live in Central London so was nice to get out and enjoy a calm mid morning brunch along the river. For a Thursday morning, it was obviously very quiet which was perfect. We sat outdoors and the staff were welcoming and friendly. We were worried about the weather but the outside decking has heaters and blankets. We both ordered ‘The Bondi’ and it was delicious. We added on the chorizo beans too and they also didn’t disappoint. At the end of the meal the staff brought out a small cake with a candle and the staff and a few guests sang happy birthday to my partner, which was a nice touch. Looking forward to exploring the other chains of the Daisy Green Collection. Highly recommend

Oh dear, what a disaster! Very slow amateur service, despite 3 requests for our food to be served, we waited about 90 minuets for our main course, generally very poor quality food , 3 servings sent back, and given our experience very expensive. £28 for a tiny Monk Fish tail. It was supposed to be an enjoyable family early evening supper which was a complete calamity. Needless to say a return visit is not going to happen. The only saving grace was that our entire bill was cancelled.

The food was served cold, and our table was not attended to properly. Additionally, we were charged a service fee that was higher than the standard 10%, without any prior notice. It was an unjustified charge, and I chose not to argue about it as I had a guest with me. However, the service provided was definitely not worth the amount I paid. Moreover, my teacup saucer had visible dried tea stains, clearly indicating that it had not been washed properly. The place may look fancy, but the service does not justify the price.

The food was fantastic. The manager and waiters gave us the feeling that we were interrupting their Sunday morning. When we received our drinks, the manager spilt my wife's drink on the table. When she asked if he could bring a cloth to clean it, his attitude was less than desirable. We had to clean our own table as he was more interested in having a conversation with a table of single ladies. A total let down is putting it lightly

We didn’t book in so had to queue at the venue - they reserve some seats for walkins. There’s a lovely deck where the walkins wait and you can order some drinks outside. The staff were lovely, my only recommendation is to improve the playlist in the background ! The food was delicious we had the pancakes, the bondi and the dirty daisy - they were all incredible

So disappointing on every aspect. Ambience was very poor; no music and few customers. One monkfish kebab smelt off (fishy) and was replaced with an aubergine dish. I did note that the monkfish kebab was very small, consisting of 4 tiny pieces and represented poor value at £28. Only 3 desserts and all were poor. Service wasn’t great and after paying, we left without so much as a thank you or goodbye from the staff. Such a shame. I won’t be back.

Nice interior and setting. The service was slow and unexpectedly disordered for the establishment. The coffee was lukewarm but the granola tasted good.

Underwhelming food, served cold and late- saving grace was the service but really nothing worth coming back for or worth blocking your card to book a table for. We went for brunch today and ordered the sweetcorn fritter and the Dirty Daisy vegetarian version: Our food took 35 minutes to come to the table after we ordered- other tables who came at the same time were served way before us and my drink order was not even captured which was a bit strange.. Our waitress tried her best to apologise and waived some of our bill off but honestly it didn’t make up for the time wasted sitting hungry and watching other orders and drinks go by. But my biggest problem was the food when it eventually came- the sweet corn fritter was soggy and cold, with the “grilled corn rib” being half a cob of corn almost raw, just placed on the plate- we had to send it back. The Dirty Daisy’s tater tots and halloumi were greasy, while the tofu had too much turmeric and overall the dish left an oily taste in the mouth for hours after- I wouldn’t have eaten but for having been so hungry after waiting. I was hoping to get a dessert but the menu was limited to lamingtons of different kinds which wasn’t too much choice. All in all, a very unappetising brunch from this much hyped place. Don’t bother blocking your card or wasting your time.

We went for the first time on a Saturday at 4pm. They only served drinks and cake at the time which is what we wanted. The menu was varied and lots to choose from. I had the Sky at night cocktail and lemon polenta cake. My daughter had the matcha latte and loved it. We didn't need to wait long and the music they played had created a good vibe. I would recommend.

We arrived a few minutes before the kitchen was due to close (for the switch between brunch/lunch to dinner) but luckily CC saved us by whisking our order into the kitchen really quickly and by also turning out to be very knowledgeable about lamingtons (despite being the bartender and not a waiter)! The food was delicious as it was the last time we visited this restaurant and the service was exceptional. This is one of the nicest places in Richmond (which has some pretty nice eateries) to visit for a snack or a meal.

I went to try the tomahawk steak and it's excellent value for money. The manager I believe his name was Adam, he looked after me and my wife so well. It was our 1 year anniversary and I am so thankful for his service I will be coming back mainly for him

I booked a bottomless brunch for 12 friends recently at Peggy Jean and wanted to say what a wonderful time we had. The food was delicious and the service was brilliant. Loved the blankets and heaters too. The staff were also very accommodating with some of my last minute number changes. The boat is set on Richmond Riverside and is very aesthetically pleasing. Highly recommended.

This was my 3rd visit within a few days and already the staff both Alessia and Adam remembered my name and my choice of beverage. Always a winner for me, that feeling of belonging and welcomed to this charming and first class restaurant/bar.

Amazing Service and Food. I do not put reviews that much but this one deserve a good feedback. We were just around the corner yesterday and we found this beautiful place and me and my friend decided to pop in. We were welcomed at door by a lady from Nepal with a smiling face. I forgot her name but she was looking after us the whole time and we got to chat a bit about ourselves, I have to say she was very attentive. We were seated outside under heater and there was blanket as well. I had some prawns and fries with some cocktails. I will definitely come back again for proper dinner with my friends as this time I could not have proper dinner.
