Nice place for lunch. Really liked the roasted atlantic salmon, risotto, flaming tomahawk, aged sirloin, yellowfin tuna steak and chicken parmigiana.

Had a lovely dinner at Peggy! Such a lovely place with a beautiful sunset. Food and service are simply the best, highly recommended!

Had an excellent time at Peggy Jean with a group of friends celebrating an engagement. Fantastic menu with options for everyone, including vegan and vegetarian. Bubbles were flowing and great atmosphere right on the water. Can't wait to return in the summer!

Was looking were to take my wife for our anniversary. Got so lucky to stumble upon Peggy. It was the best experience we could have! The food, the drinks were delicious. Not to mention the views. It was so romantic, having drinks while admiring the sunset. One of the best sunsets we have ever seen. Such an amazing addition to Richmond. Will definitely be coming back!

I was looking for a nice place to take my girls out. When I found this place, was hesitant at first since the seating is outside. But the days ahead looked warm and I wanted to give my girls a different experience. None of us have ever dined on a boat. And I wasn't disappointed. It was the best brunch ever! The menu is so creative. Not to mention the views from the top of the boat. We're so lucky to have such an amazing place in Richmond!

We've visited Peggy Jean several times since it opened and walked past today to discover that the venue is temporarily closed for repairs due to the storms. So, I thought I'd share a review to express how wonderful this Restaurant Barge is in anticipation of their reopening! Peggy Jean is, by far, our favourite spot in Richmond and has become a regular gathering place for our family and local friends. The menu offers a fantastic selection of delicious dishes that cater to all our different tastes and allergies, especially for vegetarians/vegans! Every time we visit Peggy Jean, the food, service, and drinks are consistently excellent, and the beautiful riverside views and year-round alfresco seating add the cherry on top! We first heard about Peggy Jean from our daughter, who mentioned their association with Radio Lamington, delivering freshly baked Australian cakes to local NHS workers every week. This gesture showcases the business's commitment to the community and our healthcare workers, intriguing us enough to check it out, and we're so glad we did!

Really great addition to the area with fantastic Aussie brunch, great coffee and a killer bloody Mary. Service was friendly and attentive with a relaxed Aussie vibe. I can not wait to return for dinner and drinks to watch the famous sunset!

We FINALLY got a place here on a mid-week work day. The food is incredible and the vibe of this place is unmatched. You ought to reserve your place way in advance especially if you're planning to come here on a weekend!

Really nice evening with the girlfriend, fantastic food and lovely staff. Couldn’t have asked for a better waitress - Vilma made us feel very welcomed. I highly recommend the sea bass, my girlfriend loved her miso roasted aubergine too. Fairly quiet in winter which made for a lovely couples evening, but seems like it would be super busy in summer months. Will definitely be back!

One of the best bottomless brunch places I’ve ever been to. Their buttermilk pancake was absolutely stunning. Their staff were lovely and location is perfect.

Was excited to try this place as had seen great pictures on Instagram but unfortunately was disappointed by our experience. When we first arrived on the boat there were plenty of tables free. We were sat right at the entrance by the till so asked if we could move to a different table which we were able to. Once ordered our food came almost immediately (within 5 minutes), our drinks didn’t arrive till we were almost finished, quite strange, and when we enquired about our drinks staff were quite sarcastic. Plastic covers over boat due to weather which couldn’t be helped but no music and no atmosphere gave a weird vibe. Food was nice, but for the poor service and not great atmosphere I wouldn’t return.

Lovely brunch, worth the price. Also, a very fun experience eating on a boat, the views are beautiful and is very easy to get to from Richmond UG station. Definitely recommend a visit.

By the time we paid the bill, the water level was over a meter above the river path. We asked them for plastic bags to cover our shoes, and they gave us one bag each - they apparently intended for us to hop from the gangway to the stairs through a meter of water. We asked for more. The plastic bags didn't keep out the water though and we arrived on the stairs on the other side with wet shoes and clothes. We then overheard staff from Peggy Jean shouting to people on land that the rising tide is apparently happening most days now. Yet despite knowing this, they didn't make us aware, showing a lack of care for their customers. Avoid.

The Peggy Jean is hard to miss, floating like a pepto-bismol-pink frothy prom dress right there along the riverbank. We boarded out of sheer curiosity, only to be greeted by an incredibly friendly host from South Africa. When we asked if they were willing to serve two sweaty Americans, he smiled and joked right back with us. We got an awesome table (there are no tables on this boat that are NOT awesome) and our server, Maciej, brought us some cold water. Maciej took SUCH good care of us, kept our glasses full of the cold water we so desperately needed, and made some great suggestions about the menu. We wound up ordering a Healthy Start with smoked salmon, and the Bondi Breakfast, both of which we can honestly say were our favorite meals of our entire vacation. The food is so fresh and flavorful, and the veggies and fresh fruit tasted like a dream - especially compared to American tomatoes, which taste like packaging material. Maciej was so thoughtful and proactive with everything, anticipating what we might need before we even needed it. We're huge fans. I miss the Peggy Jean already, and have recommended her to every fellow traveler headed to Richmond. We can't wait to go back!

Expected the “fresh apple juice” to be freshly squeezed, was just £5 for a glass of cloudy apple juice. Me and my friend both ordered the same dish but chorizo was missing from hers. Food arrived stone cold. Overpriced and disappointing but service was pleasant

What a wonderful way of starting the day with breakfast on a kind of converted house boat. The food was fantastic! The menu had some really original dishes. Service was very friendly and quick. Make sure you book a table though.

I have never known such a difficult kitchen when dealing with an allergy. They made it SO difficult and pairing this with a lack of communication from the waiting staff it was a pretty stressful experience which then ruined the atmosphere of the evening. It showed that everything on the menu was made up in advance and couldn’t be made up fresh from the separate ingredients. It was also then completely over-priced for what we got. Won’t be going back here again despite the setting

Last minute reservation with some friends, recently moved to area and wanted to try as the setting well presented. The restaurant called is after we had informed them we would be five minutes late. Kitchen was closing 30mins after our table reservation. Deliver wrong meal alongside 2 very poorly cooked steaks and tatty looking chips. Ordered the chicken, the chef insisted it would be five minutes. See the picture. The food was RAW. Front of house staff were so apologetic and took A percentage off the bill and quite rightly didn't charge for the raw food. Went to the loo, the door to the external part of the boat was propped open with a loo roll and the lights didn't work. Good job as the loos were dirty and poorly lit. All round a night we won't positively remember aside from the very kind and embarrassed staff

I was in yesterday to have lunch with a friend and we LOVED our meal. Nilay took care of us and was very attentive, kind, knowledgeable and accommodating in terms of allergies and vegetarian preferences. The food was top notch and the atmosphere was unique and charming. It felt like a real getaway right in town! Would definitely return.

We visited for breakfast, which was amazing and the coffe was great as well. Would definitely recommend visiting and it's a nice location along the river.

When we arrive our table is not ready- no cutlery, glasses, water, menus- the table was in an area off the main boat which was less desirable. Chicken came first but still no cutlery! So for about 5-10 minutes it sat and we stared. We asked to move because the heater above was broken and at last, on the new table, we were given the essentials. Not great service- at one point the manager and two staff had a convo in front of us- could have been more discreet and professional. £24 salmon with extra service fee = should have been a 10/10 experience... :(

Very disappointed by the restaurant which can double-charge you and leave without food. My husband and I went there for a dinner on Friday evening. We were sat at the table, made an order and paid online through the QR-code available at the table. Suddenly we were told that this order went to a different restaurant (Timmy Green), so we need to re-order and to we'll get a refund of the 1st order. The manager Jesse was confirming multiple times that the refund would be done till the end of our dinner. But to keep the long story short, no refund was done. So be prepared that you can easily be overcharged because of the wrong info on the table and restaurant will not do anything about it except giving you the promises it will not keep.

We went to this restaurant for brunch and had a very disappointing experience. Despite plenty of staff it was a mess. We waited 50 minutes for our food only to find out it never was put through, so we had to wait another 20 min before it finally arrived. There were several other mishaps - having to ask for glasses for the tap water bottle, then getting dirty ones, having to ask for sugar for our coffee and then getting an empty jar, it was all a bit of a joke. At the end we and also neighbouring tables desperately tried to get the bill but even this took three attempts with three different members of staff until we could finally escape this ship! Never again!

Atmosphere is helped only by the beautiful views. But the food (and drinks - which are pretty difficult to get wrong) was subpar. And the price just added insult to injury. Would only recommend this place to someone I don’t like whose date night I want to ruin.

A gorgeous place on a boat on the River Thames. The food was tasty, but the yoghurt & granola was a very small serving. My friend had a sort of tortilla wrap with meat & vegetables, which was a good size. The boat is lovely; nicely decorated, cute little toilets, baby changing.

Terrific food and nice friendly staff but food and drink was soooo slow to arrive. One of our main courses arrived 10 minutes later than the others, and the drinks didn't arrive until after we'd started tucking into our starters. Have heard similar from others who have visited so I guess they have some issues to address

Hit and miss. Location is great and the place is lovely, although on a very sunny day you can easily melt, if you seat under the sun - and you have no chance to swap seat as the place is always full. Service is fine, but the waiters could be a little more attentive, as I called four different waiters that were passing by my table without success. Food and drinks are the real bummer, to be fair. Which is the reason why I won't go to this place again. The latte was awful. Guys, do you use semi skimmed or you just do an americano instead of an espresso? Eggs: apart from the fact that charging £4 for one poached egg is ludicrous even for London, at least you should offer high quality eggs, I had two and one was runny and old, with a very pale yolk. Avocado: I had to send it back because it was not good. The other one was perfect, so I can't complain about it. Sourdough bread: good flavour, but the rubbery texture wasn't something I expected. Sausage (two different kinds): very tasty Bacon: the ratio fat/meat was really unbalanced, leaving with a very little portion of a barely edible ingredient. For the price point, the quality of the food is really below the standard. Give me bigger portions, or better quality, not third class ingredients and Michelin star portions. Frankly, I don't go to restaurants for fancy pictures, I go to eat good food. Unimpressed. Two dishes, two hot drinks, 45£. No, thank you.

Very poor, way too overhyped. Went for our anniversary dinner and left very disappointed & hungry. Mentioned it was for a special occasion and got a dirty wonky table in the back corner. The starters and drinks were expensive but all nice. The table water we asked for twice never showed up though. Mains took over an hour to come and were very poor, both arrived cold, the chicken was tasteless & soggy and the ‘salad’ was pathetic. Very expensive and clearly not great quality. Chips were stone cold so sent them back. They brought us new ones but these didn’t arrive until after we’d finished everything else so didn’t eat them. Never got checked up on how the food was. Didn’t bother staying for dessert as we were over it by that point. They did knock off the price of the starters though. We did ask to have the service charge taken off but they still had the cheek to bring the bill over with the service charge still on and the card machine ready instantly, so I had to query that. It was supposed to be the highlight of our evening, but unfortunately ruined it for us. Don’t waste your time, clearly a tourist trap and way overhyped on social media. Spent almost £100 on 4 drinks (2 soft), a salmon fillet with rice and a soggy chicken breast… Has to be the worst dining experience of my life, but hey at least the bridge to the boat looks cute.

We had the most lovely evening at Peggy Jean. Our server, Kate, gave us a truly exceptional experience and is almost certainly the best waitress I have had in Richmond. The setting is spectacular on the riverside and the food is well presented and delicious! We cannot wait to go back!

Oversold by Instagram and underwhelming in experience we had a nice evening in the sun but were disappointed by the experience overall. I ordered the tuna steak and asked when ordering if it would come rare (as it is listed as sashimi grade) I was assured it was served rare but when my main arrived it was cooked throughout and thoroughly white. I asked if I could have a replacement and was told (5 minutes later) the kitchen couldn't cook it less than that? (why sashimi grade then?!) The server again later came back and offered to cook it less but I had already agreed to skip a main course and just have dessert. Nothing was offered as an apology and I was made to feel it was my own issue even though I had checked the order in advance. The servers were very pleasant but felt overworked and I could see issues arising at the tables around us as well. The toilets were unclean with broken elements already for a relatively new establishment. Steak was nice and starters were good enough but for the price it feels like it is very much a venue about the Instagram photo rather than the actuality. I would recommend a lot of other establishments in Richmond before coming here unfortunately.

Really disappointing evening at Peggy Jean last night. I wanted to treat my daughter before she leaves for Uni in 2 weeks. My daughter has celiac and we made waiters aware as we arrived and ordered. Whilst I was away from the table a waiter came and checked that one starter contained gluten, my daughter reassured it was for me, everything seemed fine. My daughters starter arrived and mine had been cancelled for some reason! 10 minutes later after asking where mine was it arrived 5 minutes later, by this time my daughter had finished hers! As soon as I finished my starter, our mains arrived! No time to digest. After our mains were taken, we asked for more water and wine. Wine arrived, but we were left watching staff putting all the bins out and drying cutlery, it felt like staff couldn’t wait to leave. I asked 10/15 minutes later if we could have the water and also look at dessert menu, where I was told we couldn’t have dessert as they were closed!! Not once we’re we asked if we’d like to even see the dresser menu! I had to constantly ask for assistance. It seemed putting bins out was staff’s main priority, much more important than seeing if we were happy with food and service. It was supposed to be a very special evening with my daughter, but instead we left feeling upset, disappointed and gutted I’d spent so much money on an evening that I was expecting such special memories from.

A great location and experience

Just an overall horrible experience - overly expensive, extremely slooow service, and not accomodating service at all. We asked for a table outside as our reservation was indoor, even though there were empty tables we were not moved there. When we asked for modifications to menu to suit our dietery needs they just said NO. They took 1.5hrs to bring appetiser and even longer to bring the main course. We are never going to return to this place, suggest folks to watch out for their notoriously slow service and do not take table indoors.

Shocking worst management i have ever come across, check the camera please your manager Peter eating food of customers plate at the kitchen as well as being extremely rude and making every excuse to why the main has taken 1 hour and 30 minutes to come before we decided we had enough and left without our mains. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE! My girlfriend and I have eaten and drank here on a number of occasions. However the food has slowly gone downhill. But the main reason for writing this review is due to being laughed at by the staff when they told us there was no lager to drink. Seems petty but if you know you're running out of a core beverage, get a suitable substitute whilst restocking and if you can't do that, don't then stand around with the manager giggling when paying (or would have been) customers then leave. Very unprofessional and disappointing. Suggest some 101 customer services lessons for serving staff working on 5 September evening shift!

Popped here for a Sunday brunch and it did not disappoint! Aussie menu with lots of options for all. Their cocktails are particularly good! Highly recommend the Sriracha Bloody Mary and Daisy Paloma and for food the Dirty Daisy, Fancy Bacon Roll and Sweetcorn Fritters! Staff were excellent and the location is dreamy on the Riverside in Richmond and it’s Dog Friendly!

The recent experience I had was rather disappointing, to say the least. Two coffees and three lemonades, which weren't even freshly squeezed,it ended up costing a whopping £29. To put things into perspective, this price was even higher than what you'd pay at Parada Caffe in Harrods. The whole situation felt tacky, reminiscent of a tourist trap rather than an enjoyable outing. The cherry on top was the boat on the river, which didn't do much to salvage the overall experience. It's safe to say that I won't be returning anytime soon.

This place is a great place. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. We had bottomless brunch outside. Amazing food and drinks, excellant service, especially from Sam. Thank you Sam & staff, for making both our 50th birthday's brunch one to remember 💗

We had a bad experience from start to finish. Change to our booking hadn’t been confirmed on their end between them and their central reservation team. Our food didn’t ever arrive and they only remembered when I asked. Apparently a mix-up between chefs but sounded like someone forgot to place our order. So we left without eating after 2 hours. Not good. They seem really disorganised and it ruined a birthday evening.

Eggs were poached to perfection and the avocado was deliciously creamy. The activated charcoal bread had a punchy taste and the lime really brought out the flavours. A beautiful combination of food. Slightly expensive but I guess you pay for the the view and boat experience as well as the food. The waiter was lovely and made the meal all the better. Would definitely visit again.

The food was amazing, we all absolutely love what we got. Tiramisu is to die for. The service was the best we’ve ever had. We were served by Kate (Katerina) and she honestly made the experience 10x better. Was so lovely and accommodating. I would definitely go back.

My Friends and I recently celebrated a birthday and has the bottomless Prosecco, the food was amazing and catered to one of our groups allergies amazingly, their service was speedy and continuously checked on us and were super friendly, Kate was particularly amazing, making sure our friend had a great time thank you so much !

Kyra was our waitress lovely lady. Real and authentic service provided. Made our table laugh, and handled my specific fussy eating requirements well. Food was good, thank you chefs. FOH - Male staff members unfriendly, none of them smiled, one male smirked when we were giving the manager feedback about them. As front of house you’re supposed to make people feel welcomed, a smile wouldn’t go a miss. When speaking with the manager about her staff her response to us praising Kyra to us mentioning how some staff members didn’t make us feel welcome was exactly the same response which made us feel her “thank you for your feedback” was disgenuine. And I’m pretty sure that she wouldn’t have told Kyra that she had good feedback either. It’s waitresses like Kyra that make you want to come back, not the people you currently have as FOH. Once again thank you chefs and Kyra.

Food was amazing, but the management & the whole, but one of the staff need to be retrained on customer service, & be more welcoming, & not look & be soo hostile towards the paying customers, because without customers, they'd have no business 😒 A big shout out to Keira 😀 She was the best waitress 🤗 Managers need their staff to be more like Keira & be more welcoming, but sadly, l know that's not going to happen. Lovely location, beautiful setting, especially if you go for dinner, which I did with a group of girlfriends. Whilst the food was stylishly presented and was tasty, myself and the three others who ordered the sashimi grade tuna steak all had terrible food poisoning as a result so AVOID or risk your food coming out from both ends. An unfortunate end to an otherwise lovely evening. Oh, and double check your bill when paying - we were originally double charged for all our drinks.

Beautiful restaurant on the river at Richmond. At first I was disappointed to be sat inside however with large, open windows I still got to appreciate the river aspect of the restaurant. Food was delicious but nothing outstanding. It did taste very fresh and healthy! I think the salmon royale is your best bet, large portion and the rye bread is ever so yummy. I then ordered desserts, only to be sadly told that they’re not selling their lamingtons at the moment. So I ordered sweet brunch items instead. The toasted banana bread was fantastic and so filling, the savoury clotted cream balanced out the sweetness of the banana. Delicious and my favourite thing I ate. However once we ordered the desserts at 3:55 the waiter then came back to inform us that the kitchen closes at 4 and therefore staff will not be making our desserts. First off she should’ve known this when taking our dessert order and secondly how unprofessional?! This is what keeps Peggy Jean at a ‘cheap’ level unfortunately, the lack of effort or commitment for their customers. I have watched many reviews of people also being told abruptly that the kitchen will not do anything after 4. Anywho I’ll be trying some other locations and see if I can get my hands on a lamington. For the novelty of it Peggy Jean, I would say it is worth it as the food is good but maybe make sure your sat on top deck to make the most of it.

We enjoyed the novelty of the boat setting but our view was obscured tarpaulin, the food was overpriced for the quality and the service was very slow

Boat restaurant on the Thames. Only had tea so can't comment on the food, but the views are good. A bit cramped and loud at times.

Loved it. The manager really accommodating. The food delicious. Great spot to watch the sun set
