Peggy Jean At Riverside Green in Richmond upon Thames

We went for the first time on a Saturday at 4pm. They only served drinks and cake at the time which is what we wanted. The menu was varied and lots to choose from. I had the Sky at night cocktail and lemon polenta cake. My daughter had the matcha latte and loved it. We didn't need to wait long and the music they played had created a good vibe. I would recommend.

Delicious food, great service! Only had to wait 30 min for walk in.

Great experience dining on a boat beautiful views at the evening where all the moving boat passes by , excellent food and wine, great place to hang out with your loved one in the summer 👍🏻

We arrived a few minutes before the kitchen was due to close (for the switch between brunch/lunch to dinner) but luckily CC saved us by whisking our order into the kitchen really quickly and by also turning out to be very knowledgeable about lamingtons (despite being the bartender and not a waiter)! The food was delicious as it was the last time we visited this restaurant and the service was exceptional. This is one of the nicest places in Richmond (which has some pretty nice eateries) to visit for a snack or a meal.

We had a wonderful dinner at Peggy Jean, celebrating lots of exciting milestones. Delicious food and wine, very attentive and helpful staff - Elliott, CC and Namrata were exceptional. Have been to Bondi Green before in Paddington before but have to say my experience here was truly splendid. Will definitely be back!

I went to try the tomahawk steak and it's excellent value for money. The manager I believe his name was Adam, he looked after me and my wife so well. It was our 1 year anniversary and I am so thankful for his service I will be coming back mainly for him

I booked a bottomless brunch for 12 friends recently at Peggy Jean and wanted to say what a wonderful time we had. The food was delicious and the service was brilliant. Loved the blankets and heaters too. The staff were also very accommodating with some of my last minute number changes. The boat is set on Richmond Riverside and is very aesthetically pleasing. Highly recommended.

This was my 3rd visit within a few days and already the staff both Alessia and Adam remembered my name and my choice of beverage. Always a winner for me, that feeling of belonging and welcomed to this charming and first class restaurant/bar.

Absolutely amazing! Best place For breakfast I’ve ever had. Elisha and Adam were the nicest most attentive people. We went back a 2nd time and they remembered us and exactly what we had. Such a wonderful experience. Highly recommend. We will be back. We had the bondi and the posh bacon sandwich. Seriously good food. Amazing Service and Food. I do not put reviews that much but this one deserve a good feedback. We were just around the corner yesterday and we found this beautiful place and me and my friend decided to pop in. We were welcomed at door by a lady from Nepal with a smiling face. I forgot her name but she was looking after us the whole time and we got to chat a bit about ourselves, I have to say she was very attentive. We were seated outside under heater and there was blanket as well. I had some prawns and fries with some cocktails. I will definitely come back again for proper dinner with my friends as this time I could not have proper dinner.

I just had brunch today and Adam really looked after me . He was really attentive and I will definitely come back just for him He's a star for peggy jean , honestly. I have visited many restaurants after covid and many have disappointed me. But he genuinely loves to have a conversation and ask about my day , and that was really heart warming to see. Me and my family came down for breakfast we where very welcomed on board throughout our stay by Stavros, the food was amazing, would definitely recommend to come down.

Nam was particularly good, a wonderful ambassador for Nepal .

Quite a disappointing experience. As an Aussie I had quite high hopes, but the coffee was average, the food was not great and the service was non existent. The coffee was quite bitter and the flavour was lacking. When you order a bacon egg roll, you expect it to be in a roll and able to eat with your hands, but what I got was quite the opposite. I thought it would be a proper Aussie roll but it was over complicated for no good reason. The lady who greeted me at the door was nice, but all the other staff were miserable, on their phones, one even had an AirPod in. Only outdoor seating was available on a rainy day, which would be fine, if the tables and you didn’t get soaked while sitting there. Only positive is the boat looked pretty cool. Oh and also, well overpriced.

I was in this beautiful boat with my two kids yesterday. My kids had pancakes with bacon which they enjoyed a lot. I had to admire the service . It was so quiet but still the staff looked energetic and we were well looked after. I will definitely go back to the boat in summer.

I have never had such a horrible service experience in my life and I recently left feedback privately hoping Peggy Jean would address it and apologize or offer some sort of reassurance. Their failure to respond says it all — clearly the people behind this establishment do not care about customer service in the slightest. I do want to state that the food was actually quite good, my review applies to the service (or lack thereof) only. My friend and I waited 20 minutes after being seated and not a single person came to check on us, ask if we'd like to order drinks, or bring us water. Eventually, after about 25 minutes, I had to get up and ask a server to come to us (and even then it still look a few minutes more for someone to come over). Our food arrived before the drinks. Halfway through the meal I had to once again flag down a member of the elusive staff to ask about our drinks; without a smile she told me to "wait." I said we have already been waiting about 40 minutes for drinks and we're nearly done with our food. Considering it wasn't even busy and there were plenty of empty tables and plenty of (unhappy-looking) staff visible, I have no idea why we were unable to receive proper service. The staff members were all unfriendly, without a smile to spare; no apology ever came. Obviously the drinks should have been take off the bill which did not happen. I suggest they do a serious staff overhaul immediately. I am a Richmond local and will not be returning (and will be advising my friends and neighbours to stay away as well), there are so many other establishments in town that I'd rather give my money too.

Had brunch here today we didn’t have a reservation but we were sat straightaway under a heater outside. We were told there was no indoor seating available. Banana bread was very tasty and Eggs Royale was nice but nothing to write home about. Tater tots were really good also. As the establishment was on a boat, I don’t think they could control this, but occasionally an unpleasant scent would waft past us where we were sat which was off putting when trying to eat. Also when I went to the bathroom, I noticed many tables empty inside. A nice experience overall with a very scenic view, but I probably won’t be going back.

During our visit in the summer, the option on the menu we decided to go for was regrettably sold out, which was really disappointing .Unfortunately, as we preferred to enjoy the scenery from outside rather than inside, the staff did have difficulty getting the heating to work which made the experience a little unpleasant. The cocktails were amazing, and the service was good.

A lovely spot for brunch in Richmond! 🥰 Peggy Jean is a restored former Jesus College Oxford barge, just on the richmond riverside, on the river thames 💕 we ordered sweetcorn fritters and dirty daisy, which were recommended by the waiter 👍

Lovely place but the service was below acceptable, we nearly walked out after waiting half an hour and served wrong dish twice.

Beautiful place to eat on a sunny day overlooking the river and Richmond Bridge. Service was quick, food was lovely and plentiful (we had the avocado on charcoal toast with added eggs), coffee and fresh fruit juices were perfect. Overhead heaters keep the outdoor seating area nicely warmed. We'll definitely return if we're ever in the area again.

They can also customize dishes based on your preferences, like making it vegan by replacing eggs with halloumi. However, booking can be difficult. If you can't book online using your card, it's hard to reach them by phone. I tried calling several times over a few days, but they didn’t answer. The staff were cooperative and very nice. I would rate overall.

I came on a Saturday evening which I know is a downfall but I was not impressed with this place at all. I thought the service wasn’t great: food was given to us which wasn’t ours, no offer of a refill on drinks and no checking if everything was okay. My partner and I got the sharing steak and it was cold and fatty but the rest of the food was still warm which was strange. I just thought the price and the 13.5% service charge would make it worth it but sadly not. I understand we could’ve asked to take the service charge off but again no one asked if we thought everything was okay so there was never an opportunity. I was recommended this place due to the food which was okay, probably better as a breakfast/lunch place, I just think there is room for improvement during the dinner service.

Another perfect summer evening on the Peggy Jean. Tasty Tapas, wine along with excellent hosting by Alicia & Elliot - thank you guys. My only comment re: the menu - I’m not a dessert lover and there is no cheese option! We don’t all love Tiramisu or Cheesecake (it’s been done to death!) Aside from this - it’s fabulous and I’m back this weekend!

Very disappointing evening meal on Saturday 14/9/24. Cannot fault the setting. Food such a disappointment. Starters came very quickly and were lukewarm. I would guess they had been sitting around. We then waited over half an hour for main course. Waiter did apologise. When mine arrived (monkfish) it looked like a sloppy mess on the plate. Didn’t taste much better. Dessert was mars bar cheesecake… very strange concoction. Our table was booked for 6.30. At 7 pm it was getting chilly and we asked for heaters to be put on. Waiter said NO! They don’t go on for another hour. Should have left then tbh. Would not go back

Lovely food, good service and amazing atmosphere!

The boat itself is stunning, and the ambiance is lovely. However, the service was extremely slow, which took away from the overall experience. That said, the staff were friendly and pleasant. The food was decent, but nothing particularly memorable.

Delightful restaurant on a riverboat in Richmond. Amazing two course brunch with "bottomless brunch" option. Greeted promptly on arrival and shown to outside terrace seating as requested. Food choices arrived with great presentation and all tasted delicious. Loved the option of being able to serve our own mimosas, with Prosecco in wine cooler and orange juice served separately in carafe. Special mention to our FOH/server Favour. She made our visit very special. Thank you so very much.

Horrible service which completely ruins the experience. I’ve tried coming here 3 times and the experience was terrible each time. Thought I would try one last time and we literally heard the lady who welcomed us say she didn’t want to serve us while her manager was right there and I have no idea why she would say that in front of everyone when we only asked if we could have a table for drinks. Very disappointing as all the other chains are amazing

Best place for couples and adults searching for peace outside their busy world

Recently ate here as a group of 4 for a birthday. Originally when our friend tried to book a spot for a lunchtime, we could only get either 10.30 or 2.45. We decided on 2.45, but when we arrived we tried to get a table overlooking the river when the host advised there was none left. However, a few minutes later a table of four became available and didn’t bother to move us. The brunch prices are on average for central london, which is surprising for central. However, for me the reason I won’t ever be returning to this establishment was the service and food. We waited over 45 minutes for our food, and it took a server 45 minutes to tell us this! The waiter did offer however 25% off our bill, which was to be honest I would expect, but it would’ve been good of them to advise us this before the 45 minutes. When the food did arrive however, my food was barely warm and some of the food items cold. By this point I didn’t send it back, as I was so hungry after waiting an hour for food. I have to say my husbands food portion (the bondi) was substantial, where as mine (dirty daisy) I could have easily eaten two portions of that dish!! Upon overseeing the restaurant, I can clearly see that the staff take more of an interest in the customers having the bottomless brunch, priced at £49 per head than other customers. So, my recommendations to you Peggy Green. If you want to offer a bottomless brunch, then that’s what you need to focus on, cause clearly you can’t accommodate for your average brunch customers and sort out your customer service.

Waited for a very long time. They focus more bookings than walk ins. Views are amazing so is the atmosphere, just the service let's this down . Very disappointed

Beautiful setting, delicious food. Only downside was our waitress, she was all over the place. Firstly when we were seated by front of house we were given our menus and wine list, the waitress came over and asked what desserts we wanted when we hadn't even ordered drinks, when the food came out she was walking around with the plates and didn't know where she was going. I dont usually post reviews but this is so basic and proves how important attention to detail can really affect the overall experience. We would definitely return, just a comment for the restaurant to improve to make the customer feel valued.

Quite disappointing, we booked a month in advance and travelled all the way from central London to end up being seated inside at the only table that had no window and was next to the toilet. We asked for any other table but the staff didn’t care, or even try. Won’t be coming back, as the only good things about this restaurant is the atmosphere, which we didn’t get to enjoy. Very deceiving!

The evening was helped by the lovely weather but it was a perfect meal in a wonderful setting. Food was delicious and the staff welcoming yet professional. Namrata and Adrian were the perfect hosts assisted by some excellent staff. We’d have no hesitation in visiting again.

My friend and I tried to go here for a brunch. We walk up to the boat and there was a couple in front of us carrying their suitcases. The hostess denied the couple entry to the restaurant because they ‘didn’t have a reservation’ even though the restaurant was completely empty. Clearly the couple in front of us did not look ‘Richmond’ enough to be served. After we saw how they treated the couple we immediately turned back and decided not to give them our service. Trust the other one star reviews and would not give them your business. Go to Megan’s around the corner instead. Better prices, friendlier staff and welcoming of all

We booked for the brunch and it was an excellent location. The food and drinks were exceptional, with outstanding presentation and great flavors. The service was superb; all the staff members were extremely attentive, especially Petru and Adrian which is why I would definitely recommend and intend to return.

Poached eggs were overcooked, and allocated seating wasn't the best.

We liked the place and food with the views.. but food is very expensive and portions are so small.. in michelin star restaurants also they provide bit large portions.. it was like food tasting 🤣🤣🤣 for some reason my hubby affected with food poisoning after that. We did provide feedback to the restaurant but they never got back to us.

Very rude host at the door. Unwelcoming rude man standing at the door. He put us off with his rude behaviour at Richmond from eating in Peggy Jean. The same thing happened with him and my friends few days ago as well. Zero for customer service!!

Very nice restaurant, inside a boat on the river Thames, with both inside and outside space. I was there with my husband and daughter and we had dinner outside, it was great, beautiful view of the river and Richmond, wonderful temperature. The staff was friendly and the service was perfect. We ordered meat dishes which were delicious and a bottle of Australian wine. We were happy. One of my favourite!

Not friendly for those with health/dietary issues. We have a party of 5 - one of which cannot participate in bottomless brunch for health reasons and told none of us are allowed to do the bottomless option. Huge disappointment

This place is excellent. It even has a mini couch for a dog , the people are really nice Everything we tried was outstanding. We loved the Buddha Bowl. The children enjoyed in particular the fancy bacon roll — it has a bit of spice but it was perfect!

Decided to head here for brunch today and it was a fab choice. No queue and seated outside straight away. I had the Dirty Daisy plus halloumi fries which was very tasty and well presented my friend had the Healthy Start. Both highly recommended. Just be aware that they are luke warm at best as many component items such as the avo are served out of the fridge so cool down everything else. Is personally like my poached egg and halloumi fries to be warmer but it didn't spoil the meal. Staff are lovely and service was very efficient. Will defo be back.

I have been to Peggy Jean for brunch in a Monday. No reservation made but we had a table within 5mn. Very nice atmosphere on a sunny day. We have been able to change our table after a couple left and were able to sit at a better spot, just by the river. We have ordered some champagne, cooked breakfast for myself and steak with fries for my friend. Very tasty food. Very good quality. The staff was very nice and pay attention to details. Overall very nice experience. We strongly recommend this place!

AMAZING! ABSOLUTELY SENSATIONAL

I would love to give this place 5* all round as the food and the setting was excellent, but the service was woefully inadequate. The host that greeted and seated seemed like he really didn't want to be there. He was grumpy and curt and there was just no desire on his part to be welcoming to us or any other patron. We had to ask for service several times and when I asked a waiter for an extra glass for water, another waiter nearby had overheard, incorrectly assumed I was asking for something else and promptly told us we weren't allowed one. The service did get better after the food had arrived, but the initial experience was somewhat unpleasant. They could also do with playing music in the background.

A very popular place, reserve your table in advance especially if you want a table on the terrace. Service was very attentive. We had the prosecco brunch menu provided with our own bottle and a carafe of freshly squeezed orange juice. The waitress was attentive, giving us a time check towards the end. Food is tasty and fresh - very filling.

Stunning location! Walked in at 8am and we were the first ones there but it quickly filled up a little later. Food and service is good but nothing outstanding, I would go back for the vibes, it's so perfect for summer! :) For bike riders: nearest bike parking area is by slug & lettuce.

Food was tasty, was a bit cold when it got to us though.

Looks like a nice place for cocktails. Wouldn’t suggest going for dinner. For a very simple menu, it got very complicated very quickly. Menu prices different to system prices, no longer doing food that is on the menu…. all of which seems to require a lot of people going back and forth to the table, and an expectation the customers should solve any problem that arises.
