The Ivy Asia Cardiff in Cardiff

We were served by Lauryn, she was so lovely and welcoming. Very good customer service!! However, I wasn't keen on the food. Our bill came to around £80.00 and all I can say is I would've much preferred to go to an authentic Thai restaurant as the food I had wasn't worth the cost. The interior decor is beautiful, I'd see this restaurant as more of a bar vibe than restaurant as food was disappointing. A waste of money.

Lamentablemente, se quedó corto una vez más debido al mal servicio. Para dar crédito a donde se debe, la comida y las bebidas eran de un buen nivel, aunque ligeramente sobreprecio por lo que obtiene. El ambiente tiene potencial y generalmente es agradable, pero el lugar en sí se siente cansado en algunos lugares, con pintura descascarada y papel pintado sostenido con cinta. Está claro que algo de mantenimiento está atrasado. El verdadero problema, sin embargo, era el servicio. Platos vacíos permanecieron en nuestra mesa durante casi 30 minutos, las bebidas tardaron mucho en llegar, y el personal de camareros parecía olvidarse completamente de nuestra mesa, y otros en la mesa de al lado tenían el mismo problema. I had a lovely birthday meal here tonight. We were served by Issey who was very attentive, gave us excellent service and made our night fantastic!

A lovely expedience with amazing decor, very tasty food and superb professional service from Patricia, who was attentive, but not intrusive. Stake was super tender and cooked to perfection. Have recommended to a few friends already. And we will definitely be back.

Gran servicio de Lauryn que era amable y servicial, ofreciendo consejos sobre platos para que pruebemos. Todo estaba delicioso, pero en particular recomiendo el cerdo del vientre. Tiempo tranquilo para visitar, así que no hay tiempos de espera y vino a mitad de precio los domingos significa que volveremos pronto!

It was a pre-wedding celebration for my daughter Talia…there was six of us. We had a lovely time Mared took very good care of us. We especially enjoyed the mango sling cocktail and the food was very good. This is my second time here and will definitely be back even though we need to get a train to get here from Bristol but worth it!

We found the ‘small plates’ (gochujang chicken and pork & kimchi gyoza) to be the best part of our experience at Ivy Asia. The mains were tasty but didn’t quite live up to expectations considering their price. When they arrived, we were given no extra utensils to eat the curry or rice dish with, we had to ask for spoons as it was impossible to eat with chopsticks (the rice dish wasn’t sticky rice). I found the plates to eat from were small and impractical to eat from without making a mess. The pork belly was difficult to eat in one bite, I wouldn’t have been able to easily bite in half and yet again had no cutlery to cut it. Service was okay, polite enough and cleared dishes away quickly when we were done. I enjoyed my cocktail but it was expensive for what it was. Overall, I’m glad I tried it but I wouldn’t go again. Seems to be mostly focused on being pretty - which the interior was.

We decided to visit as a celebration for my birthday. Karolina was our wonderful waitress who made sure we were happy and comfortable throughout our visit. The food was delicious and we cannot wait to return, thank you!

It was exactly as I imagined — bad taste and overpriced, but ironically, that made it a fun experience! First off, the interior was just bizarre. It felt like they spent too much on the decor and are trying to charge you for it separately, which was kind of hilarious. As a Japanese person, I honestly wish they wouldn’t use words like “samurai” or “tempura” to describe the food — everything was bland and overly greasy. But hey, it was an entertaining experience, so I’d still recommend it! Haha.

This place makes wagamamas look like a Michelin star restaurant in Ginza. It's quite possibly the most overpriced, tasteless, tacky inauthentic experience conceivable, but it is funny, in a so bad it's good kind of way.

On a work trip. Evening meal. Food was gorgeous little sharing platters that come when ready. My favourite was the salt and pepper beef, gorgeous steak slices. Decor is out of this world. Very busy/ popular, but we ate early so able to get a walk in table.

Tonight I dined at the ivy aisa and was severed by the lovely will, he was super polite attentive and bubbly. The food was absolutely incredible, no other way to describe. Overall such a lovely experience and definitely will be returning again :)

On the whole great experience. We had or-booked a table to celebrate a birthday. We had to wait in the bar for a short time as our table wasn’t ready. Food was fabulous throughout (set menu). Ellie our waiter was fabulous, took time to explain the menu to us and checked often if we were enjoying our food/wanted more drinks etc. Some of the other staff, who brought the food, lacked the confidence or knowledge of the food they were serving. The decor was amazing, so much to take in. Personally I didn’t appreciate the music, it didn’t seem in keeping, was monotonous and too loud to be able to have a conversation - perhaps I’m getting old!

Me and my partner recently visited and it was an amazing experience overall. The food was delicious and the cocktails were amazing. The atmosphere was also a 10/10 including the decor. We did have some slight trouble with one of the large dishes as my partner didn't personally like what he ordered, however our server Lauryn handled this situation amazingly and even took it off our bill for us which we were not expecting. I would also give 10/10 for customer service here as they definitely made sure we had the best experience! Will 100% visit again some time in the future!

Absolutely love this place. The decorations and decor are incredible. Lovely touch of the sliding doors in the summer allowing for people watching. Been here twice now and have been throughly impressed on both occasions. First time ordering from the menu this time the afternoon tea which was incredible. The staff are friendly and helpful explaining what was what on the afternoon tea. Will be back that’s for sure

Booked a lunch table for two. Very warm welcome, super friendly staff. Great decor. We went for the set menu, the food not only looks amazing it tasted amazing. The wasabi has a proper kick to it. Really enjoyed the outing and we will definitely visit again.

Disappointed that the set menu wasn't available on a Saturday but we had a nice meal. Our server, Ellie, was friendly, efficient and well organised despite being busy.

I came here with 3 Fridays for dinner and had a lovely evening. 85% of the food that came was really nice and throughly enjoyed it. Unfortunately one dish we had to send back but our lovely waitress Issy more then made up for that. She was so kind and lovely and made the experience 10/10 for us.

It was our 16th wedding anniversary and we wanted to find something different and special. That special turned out to be 'The Ivy Asia" in Cardiff. We don't normally do the slightly up market restaurant thing, but it wasn't long before we were reassured by the wonderful service by our table host called Chu. It wasn't just the high quality meals,or the presentation of the place, it was the regular interactions we had with Chu who pretty much taught us everything we needed to know about the food and how each course worked with what. Overall it left both myself and my wife with a memorable and incredible day. Chu ,you made it my friend and it's quite clear how much passion you have for your job. We will definitely be back 😊

Our first evening in Cardiff and we immediately felt welcome in the beautifully decorated Asia Ivy. Our server, Rhianna was attentive, professional and friendly. My Lychee Martini was over the top - literally with a base of cotton candy and boba bubbles topped with generous pour of Belvedere vodka. So delicious I had two. The sunset bites menu was a perfect fit for our appetites and so delicious. It was such a treat to find such perfectly prepared Asian dishes. A great way to begin our stay in South Wales.

Absolutely beautiful setting and delicious food. I can't comment on drinks as we had tap water. All staff were lovely but Lauryn went that extra mile to make our evening.

Fantastic food, I took my parents for their anniversary and can never find anywhere my dad has complemented except here. Rhiannon, our waitress was very attentive and had a lovely manner.

Our server was Issy and she was lovely. All the staff were brilliant. Very well dressed and I loved the uniforms. The place itself is an absolute feast for the senses with eye catching decor and incredible detail. However, the prices are eye watering, and the majority of the food was unfortunately not equally mouth watering. The sushi was not worth the price as I have tasted much better at Bamboo in Swansea so I do think you pay for the atmosphere. The best dish was the Sashimi which had an amazing dressing with multiple flavours blended beautifully together. The seared Wagyu was lacking flavour and was quite disappointing. So, over all I only really was "wowed" by one dish. I found myself regretting choosing Ivy Asia over Miller's or Pasture (which both fell short of 5 stars for me too unfortunately.) So, honest opinion, yes the food is nice and the venue is gorgeous, staff are friendly, but it's not quite fine dining despite the price point. Their sushi definitely needs some improvement but overall a pretty location if you're looking at spending around £100 each on a meal that is hit or miss depending on what you order off the menu.

We won't be eating here again. My partner and I went for an evening meal at the Ivy Asia for the first and last time today. Ordered 4 small dishes and 2 large dishes in total and we both agreed that only about 50% of the dishes were enjoyable and worth the price. Prices are ridiculous for what you get. A small glass bottle of coke is £4 and water for the table was £5. The total for our meal which consisted of 4 small dishes, 2 large dishes, 2 tiny glass bottles of coke and a cocktail was £140, which also included a 12.5% service charge which they add on without asking - ironic, given service was slow and not particularly special. Absolute rip-off, would not recommend. Try Giggling Squid instead or somewhere else in Cardiff first.

We visited the Ivy Asia for the first time this evening. The service we received was superb from the initial greeting to table service(thank you Matilda)and bar service. I am allergic to crab and all the staff took great pains to ensure that the food we ordered was allergen free. The food was delicious and I can thoroughly recommend the restaurant . Five stars all round
