Terrible, rude, always always get the order wrong and refuse to put anything right.

PLEASE COME BACK this is honestly the best curry we have ever had, absolutely gutted your not open 😭😭

Because the Gipsy Hill restaurant was shut as they are refurbishing the restaurant we ordered a takeaway. Having ordered the takeaway and being given an estimated waiting time of 50 minutes we had a call after one hour to say their systems and failed and can we reorder online. Of course we were really annoyed as we were told it would take 40 minutes. Having originally ordered at approx 20:00 we received the delivery just before 20:00. The order was missing three items from the order. We then realised the orders are being made and delivered from their Kennington branch which is why some of the food was only warm. Having called the restaurant they did refund the missing items. This is the second time in a row this has happened. We have been using the Gipsy Hill restaurant for many years and it is excellent. This interim option is really poor - warm food, missing food and their systems are really poor. I will not be ordering any more food from the restaurant until the Gipsy Hill restaurant reopens.

I've used this restaurant regularly for the past 5 years and it been generally very good. I ordered a delivery 22.07.23 which didn’t arrive. Nobody picking up the phone when I tried to call. Out of frustration I went to the restaurant to sort out the problem and it was all closed up. The website indicates it’s still trading and it took our money when we ordered online. Seems to be either a scam or complete incompetence. Steer well clear either way.

My prawn main not only looked awful like it had just been heated from frozen, no decoration and it was tasteless. The green sauce on my partners dish he said wasn’t right, he felt it was possibly off so left it, and he did not enjoy his mixed grill at all. Beers shy of £7 each for large cobra. No music. I have today however spent most of it on the WC and eaten not much else since so will be avoiding this restaurant going forward just to make sure!

They always delivered food in time. it’s really impressive.. well deserve 5 star.

Our first time here. 5 stars for hygiene is a good start. Dark contemporary decor is nice. Naga chilli chicken was hot and the sauce tasted fresh and light. Momo was very light. Tarka dal was interesting with a variety of lentils. Naan billowy. But we really liked that that the food was fresh, only lightly salted and not swimming in a lake of oil. We’ll be back.

Wrong food was delivered. The Chicken Tikka in a tomato sauce I ordered was substituted with dry chicken pieces with onions. The quality of the food was OK - not the best and not the worst. It was expensive. I will not be ordering from IDC again

Beautiful food and lovely staff, really swift service, they never left us without any food on the table! Lovely decor aswell, feels like dishoom but very family run. Will come again and order take out. Best Indian around!

Had a really good curry to take away. Perfect flavours and spice. Really nice staff too. Definitely worth 5 stars and highly recommend.

Deliveroo order was missing our naan, and the chicken tikka masala had a tiny amount of chicken in it. Lamb rogan josh and chilli paneer were tasty.

I was handed a flyer at the Gipsy Hill Fair and it quoted £10 off and BYOB (corkage applies. On emailing them for more details it transpired that the £10 off applied to take-away only, and that the corkage was £10 per bottle of wine, and £3 per bottle of beer. So not only is this establishment saving money by not having a drinks license, they expect the customer to fork out more money than if they had ordered alcohol in-house. Most licensed restaurants charge £3.50 for a beer. If you buy one at a supermarket for £2.00 and pay corkage, that's £5.50. Exploitative !

Ordered Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani and Murgh Sheek Kabab. Murgh Sheek Kabab's size was big and tasty. But Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani had basmati rice and no masala in it. It was accompanied with Dal tadka, which we used for the next day for white rice and it was exceptional. Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani didn't meet my expectations, maybe that's how it is here in London.

I’m sorry to say, I will not be ordering or visiting this restaurant again. The chef must have had a night off. I’ve had better microwave meals.

The restaurant was lovely, nice atmosphere and polite waiters. The food was gorgeous. There was nothing that was too much. We enjoyed our dishes and will be returning!

I am so very disappointed. This was by far the most pathetic excuse for a chicken biryani I’ve ever had. I’ve knocked up better. It’s basically small dry bits of chicken, mixed into rice. So bland and gross. No yummy sauciness, nothing tender. I paid nearly £14 for this mess. Going straight in the bin. I am a BIG curry lover, and was looking for a change. Take it from me, this place does not do good food. Save your money! If they failed this much, with such a staple dish, I dread to think what other dishes are like! Save your money, go to Eastern cuisine, on Gipsy hill. Why did I ever stray away?

We order regularly from IDC and have always been happy with the quality of the delicious food and how quickly it arrives. The team are friendly and helpful and the food is great. The menu is different from anywhere else in the area and we really enjoying trying the specials.

Great restaurant and fantastic for a takeaway. Food always so good and I’ve never been disappointed everything cooked so well and fresh ,staff are amazing too . Very impressed overall .

WORST Indian food Ive had in South London for 20 years. I had American family visiting and I ordered from Indian Dining Club because the food looked great in the pics and the dishes had really interesting sounding names. But it was awful and I was so embarrassed and kept having to apologise to guests and say "this doesn't represent Indian food in London!" We ordered about 7 dishes plus naan, sides etc. Everything was lacking in flavour and spice. Himachali Roasted Aubergine and Potato Masala was a few bits of vegetable in a generic red sauce that tasted of Heinz tomato soup with a few random spices mixed in. The South Indian vegetablecurry was frozen diced veges in something that was white and tasted of sweet cream - no flavour at all. The only flavour in the Amritsari Chole, Chickpea Curry came from some raw diced onions. The vegetable biryani again was chopped veges in a red sauce mixed with rice. The Pomegranate Raita was just some thin yoghurt with Pomegranate seeds thrown in. Whats so unpleasant is that these guys know what they are doing. I've never submitted a negative review before to a restaurant, but customers need to know. The food maybebetter in-house but I will never know. Recently purchased a takeaway last Friday at the same restaurant. The rice wasn't heated properly and the chicken wasn't cooked through properly v disappointing

Without a doubt, the best curry South London (and probably the UK).

Worst curry ever. Frozen vegetables in a tasteless, watery sauce. Mild korma had chillis in it. So disappointing and grossly overpriced for dreadful food. One to avoid!

A friend recommended this restaurant to me last year and I finally had chance to go after all these chaos... Overall it's really really high quality and authentic Indian food. I especially love the lamb shank! Will definitely go there again!

Abysmal. Ordered an extremely expensive meal for a special occasion through Deliveroo. The order arrived with several items missing. We rang the restaurant expecting them to deliver the missing items but were told that things go missing all the time and they won't replace anything! They said we shouldn't have trusted Deliveroo with the order, well if Deliveroo isn't trustworthy don't list your business there! We eventually managed to contact Deliveroo who agreed to provide the missing items, but by this point the food was cold and the evening ruined by the experience. Dreadful.

This was my first time their , very nice atmosphere, service was good , food tasty. Worth a try.

It's...ok. I grew up eating Pakistani food. I have also lived in South India in recent years. So I have experience with South Asian food, but not necessarily food from Lucknow (of which the menu claims to emulate the style). I therefore cannot judge the authenticity of the food, but what I can say is that it was bland and tasteless from my perspective. Maybe some people are into this, but I personally prefer food from elsewhere.

I have a wheat and nut allergy and I have had such amazing food from here over lockdown. They are super quick at delivery and always really friendly. Thoroughly recommend!

Offer of £5 off the bill enticed me to read the delicious sounding menu and hence place an order. I was so looking forward to the food when it arrived (bill came to £36 minus £5). My partner and I piled the Old Delhi chicken, Sarsonwalha chicken, the Dansaak. All these appeared full of Indian promise. I began devouring spoon of these different curries but lo and hold what a great disappointment they were. I literally had to go and get the chilli flakes and mango pickle and add these to my disappointing plate. The chicken breast chunks were huge and clumsy, dry and bland - none of those Indian aromatic spices had infused into the meat. What appeared to me was that the restaurant had cooked one huge vat of one sauce and douse all the dishes with this. The sauces were by no means spicy, hot - in fact EACH DISH WAS TOTALLY BLAND AND TASTED EXACTLY THE SAME. What made matters worse was that i recommended my sister to order too (hence yet another £35 down the drain). Put it this way NEVER, NEVER will I be ordering from the Indian dining club AGAIN. I (and my sister) want a refund as I was still left starving and furious after this experience. BREE from West Norwood

First order for IDC last night, gorgeous food and reasonably priced too. The KFC (keralan fried chicken) was beautiful. The paratha hot and buttery. Top notch food 👌

Had our first delivery last night. Food really really tasty and good quality. Not oily at all and everything very fresh. Also order direct from their website. Deliveroo prices are £2 (!!) extra on items and only show half of their menu. Loved their website too!! Probably one of the best takeout websites I’ve ever used.

Great place - eclectic creative indian menu and nice selection of drinks. we opted for a couple of choices from the seasonal menu, lamb curry with rhubarb (delicious) and afghan naan, also chicken dhansak and organic brown rice. All throughly enjoyed. We'll be back!

Best Indian restaurant around that area

Were regulars when we lived in the area. Went back as we were close by on a weeknight.. 1st time in 4 years or so Same great service from Alex and the team, offering something different from the normal fare...

EDITED***** They used to be great despite costing more than other restaurants,. Now they have massively cut back on the quantity of food alongside a pricehike. ******We ordered from them two years ago and the food was fantastic. However, the price range is slightly higher than other Indian places nearby. Having tried almost all the Indian takeaways around the area, we decided to order from them again today and we think that Indian Dining Club is the better takeaways, since they actually use high quality ingredients, the food are much healthier, less oily and not too salty, and the food feel like they have been cooked straight to you from a home kitchen. It is definitely worth ordering from them, despite costing 10-20% more than the other Indian but they offer consistency and high quality and delicious food.

Great food and service that gives your meal an extra value without a posh feeling. We had a dinner with a home feeling but with a golden edge.

From the outside it looks enticing so gave it a try.The ratings are even between 5 stars and 1 star but imo unfortunately the latter rather than former as the curry was cold.and had a skin on it and the rice was also cold and slightly greasy.Prompt service but unenthusiastic.

Expensive but decent. I recommend the Goan fish curry and saffron gin and tonic.

The food was nice , starters excellent, main course wasn't hot , just had chillis added almost as an after thought. The beer was good, but lager served at room temperature. Nice decor. I probably wouldn't go back lots of competition and better places the hill.

Go here if you want slow service, cold curry and rude restaurateurs. They took over an hour to take our order, another hour to bring the wrong food, accused us of ordering stuff we didn’t order, and then overcharged us. Delightful mushroom rice though!

Great food, let down by rude waiters, outrageous wait times (1 hour between arriving and ordering, and a further hour for food to be served) and snooty regulars who think they own the place.

Our favourite indian restaurant! The food is completely delicious and bursting with fantastic flavours of authentic indian spices. We often try the specials and they are superb. Highly recommended.

Got a takeaway today the salad was frozen the jalfrezi was frozen the vindaloo actually tasted like Iceland which I believe it probably was do not go to this restaurant it is not worth £30 for a couple of dishes disgusting

Amazing food with beautiful presentation and incredible flavours. They have a menu and a smaller specials menu which changes each time we go. Alexander (the Maidre D.)is always on hand to recommend specific dish and drinks combinations and is a charming host. He is also incredibly helpful providing allergy information and delicious vegan options. This is a firm family favourite and it never fails to impress whether dining in or as a delivery. Guests we bring here love it, it really is an amazing find. I can't fault it, Indian food at its finest, absolutely delicious.

Very impressed with the menu choice. Had plenty of selections. Very accommodating for dish customisation. Portions sizes wet just right, and dishes were reasonably priced. Will be visiting again.

Went here with some friends as they had been before and it was good. Starters were pretty poor, we shared a selection of 3, all were luke warm and lacked any seasoning. Mains were better, although in the lamb curry I had it was almost hunt the meat, I managed to find 3 pieces which is pretty poor for a dish costing £12. Breads were good and the service was fine. Overall not somewhere I would rush back to

Absolutely beautiful food, perfectly seasoned, best Indian food I've had in a long time. Not too expensive. Would particularly recommend the pani puri as a starter and the tamarind chicken as a main.

Smart venue, good drinks menu, not your average Indian restaurant and the Maitre D is very suave. The last time I went though the service was hit and miss and may have been our choices, but the food was a bit on the bland side too.

We get our takeaways from here quite often. They're the best in the area and one of the best I've ever had. Good sized portions and good sized cuts of meat and great flavour to the sauces. A delivery usually takes 40-50mins.

Hemos estado yendo a The Indian Dining Club durante años y la comida ha sido de muy buena calidad, no grasosa y sabrosa. Siempre ha sido un poco más caro, pero es lo que se espera cuando se desean ingredientes y alimentos de mejor calidad.Lamentablemente, las últimas ocasiones la porción.El tamaño se ha vuelto ridículo hasta el punto de que necesitaba ir a comer algo más después.El menú ha cambiado y algunos platos tradicionales han desaparecido. Pedí un pollo Shashlik que ya no estaba en el menú que teníamos pero dijeron que todavía se podía hacer, lo cual fue apreciado. Nos facturaron 12. 50 en comparación con 8. 50 en el menú que teníamos en casa y tenía menos de 6 meses. 4 aumento?Siempre hemos transmitido puntos de vista buenos y malos como propietario de un negocio, pero tanto el propietario como el equipo parecen estar contentos y contentos con lo que están haciendo. Tengo la opinión de que no se justifica todo, lo que tal vez sea el caso, pero a la larga perderá cuando los clientes leales dejen de regresar.Esperemos que la calidad siga siendo la misma pero que los precios y la cantidad mejoren.

We wanted to go up market and we hit the jackpot. Booked for 8pm got a great table for 6 people drinks straight away.The restaurant is a classy spacious Indian mix of modern and traditional. The menu was easy with a lot of choices starters fantastic and the head waiter was helpful the main courses we’re great our table was packed with all the sides and we all eat in our own time there was no rush. Great At 10:30 we asked for the bill. A little bit more then your local Indian but well worth a visit ‘a perfect mix of fantastic food ‘I will be back.

This is where the locals (and not so locals) get our excellent Indian cuisine. We've been dining here for 8 years, both in and take out. Always had an excellent meal. Check out the specials if you're dining at the restaurant. There is also a great selection of beers and craft ales to choose from.

Esto solía ser un gran lugar. Solíamos comer en el restaurante y pedir llevar con frecuencia. Food very good at marginally higher prices than average food of this kind.All the flavours distinct and particular - dal, as a test of the house, was smoky/earthy & excellent.No excess oil or salt with the spinach/aubergine bahji making for beautifully dry & subtle dishes.Comfortable ambience & efficient knowledgeable service.Pay the additional price and leave feeling pleased with the experience.

Mi novio y yo estuvimos aquí como yo vivo localmente y no había probado. Tuve el salmón curry que nos recomendó el camarero que era lima. Mi novio el pollo tikka. El naan de ajo era delicioso y tanto curry también. El arroz de hongos es genial, pero el arroz estaba demasiado dulce - peshwari podía ver los granos de azúcar. Sin embargo, no ayuda a balancear los lime curry. El personal era muy simpático y hablador y un ambiente confortable. Sin duda volveremos aquí. India en parque highams mejor en el momento.

Ordered 8 dishes to take away on a Wednesday nite. Food was bad in every way. Not one dish we ordered was of interest, even the dal was bad as it lacked proper spices and lentils were undercooked. We tried lamb, chicken and vegetarian dishes and across the board it was all poor quality. Even the raita was bad. The naan breads were undercooked and doughy. The price was £57 for dinner for 4, and we threw away 60% of the meal. Perhaps it was just a bad nite.

Exquisite Indian food and the service is amazing but it come with a bit of higher price.

This is great local Indian restaurant that i go to regularly. Food is consistently good, naan bread is light and crisp, tandoori meat is juicy and tender. The quality of the ingredients far exceeds your typical Indian restaurant. The specials use season produce such as venison in winter, lamb rump and asparagus in the spring all cooked to perfection.

Second time in 2 months that a delivery has taken 2 hours to be delivered. Actually the time before was almost 3 hours. When you call to see where it is, they’ll tell you it’s on its way but this isn’t true. I’ll have to call a couple more times, being told it’s just left. Again, not true. I’ve used this place for 12+ years and something has happened for the worse unfortunately. And no, 2 free bottles of cobra doesn’t make up for it. The food is generally good so it’s a shame I won’t be using them any more.

Delicious food, great environment with private rooms for larger parties.

We have been here several times in the past and never had a bad meal. However, on this occassion we were very disappointed in the frugal portions both with the starter and main course. My wife ordered the lamb and beetroot and found difficulty in locating the meat - four pieces of lamb, each the size of an OXO cube, did not warrant £11.

It's always great to know that a restaurant will be consistently good, and every time we visit we are not disappointed. Attentive service and a good atmosphere- and deliciously white, linen table cloths too! My dish was slightly on the cool side, and should probably have sent it back to heat up - but going again on Friday night, so will report back again!

Been eating here since 2009. Hands down the best curry in the area. Great food, friendly staff. I enjoy eating in or taking away.

Order never turned up after an hour and a half I didn't get a phone call to say it would be late and when I rung to say I order every Saturday night but where is my meal the guy on the end on the phone didn't care less oh well I'm going to bed hungry after a hard days work I'll never order from this place again

We have just had a great evening at IDC. The food was really first class both veggie and meaty for us both - fresh, not greasy, tasty, well spiced - and the owners help with selecting a good wine to suit our budget was enthusiastic and very much appreciated. Everything from the popadoms to the kuffi was well executed and delicious. We will be returning. EAT HERE

Hemos comido aquí varias veces con mi familia. La comida es excelente. Mi hijo de 10 años le encanta el pollo biryani y siempre pide comer aquí. Llega en un bowl con una corteza balti pan naan. Delicioso. Todos los demás platos que hemos tenido, tanto en el menú estándar o las ofertas especiales - han sido un poco por encima de otros restaurantes indios. Una mejora sería para ofrecer una cerveza sin alcohol, como a veces en coche pero quieres el sabor de la cerveza.

This place has gone down hill for me recently. The last three times I've ordered I've got a different chicken curry and each time the curry has obviously been reheated from frozen. Water leaks from the sauce, it has an odd consistency and the flavour is quite bland.

This is our go-to Indian. We are never let down here. Particular strengths: good variety of dishes with interesting takes on 'normal' curries, strong and reliable wine list, excellent starters, and great service. Nothing is too much for the waiters in here; they are impeccably...

Lovely food, lovely atmosphere and also has (limited) outside seating. Little pricier than some restaurants in nearby Crystal Palace but the quality of food makes it so worth it.
