I bought a lamb biryani for someone from Sri Lanka who works in a shop where I live in Thornton Heath on 1/2/24. He wanted to know how good the food was in the area I work. He had been asking for 3 weeks and I finally got round to it. I tried to order from somewhere else on Uber delivery the day before but after 2 hours the order was cancelled. So I decided to order and pick up this time. I called at 17.35 as soon as they were open. I told them I would collect after I finish work. The person I bought it for let the other workers in the shop try a bit. When I went back to the shop they all asked me if I had tried or ordered before which I haven't yet. They gave it 10/10 and we're raving about it. So now I have to try the food which I will do. They absolutely loved it. No peas in veg curry and I don't like peas. If the Chef does a dry veg without sauce I would try this as well so I will find out. Perfect service and meeted and greeted with a smile. Would totally recommend on the feedback I was given. The chicken was cut so small it was like shredded. Not even a Chicken breast used for both dishes. Food was just pure hot without flavour. I'm very sad as I've been a customer for years. It came a lot earlier than stated.

This is the best Indian takeaway in the area by miles, I'd never go anywhere else for a curry as these guys smash it every time. Never had a bad dish from here, very reasonably priced, friendly staff and the food is 10/10. Sometimes we walk away with free food added on too... faultless place!

Passage to India prepared and supplied food for a party for 80 people for us. Not only was every dish delicious but the service and support they gave us was excellent. I could not recommend them more highly. Thank you Passage to India for helping to make our celebration so memorable!

Got a Saturday night takeaway from them , we tried thier mixed grill ,along with salt and pepper prawns and some box meals between 2 of us. The mixed grill was amaizing and box meals were pleantyful and good value too.

Today at 8.30pm I ordered a takeaway, not greatly expensive....£23 or so, I was promised delivery within the hour but it was 9.45 before it was delivered which wasn't too bad apart from the fact that it was stone cold. Being annoyed I rang to complain and I admit I was a bit irate but what I didn't expect was to be told by a member of staff that he would like me to call to see him so he could beat me up. Not greatly pleasant. I did tell him.....when I could get a word in that I wouldn't be writing a favourable review. He finished by saying that he would recook everything and have it delivered within 20 minutes. I rang back saying that I no longer wanted their food as I was afraid that they would tamper with it. A few minutes later, the supposed manager rang me saying that I was being unreasonable and again shouting over me stating that he had been there for 30 years or so which I find odd as when I asked him if he knew of other Indian takeaways nearby where I had actually worked some years back he didn't know them. I have to admit that I was afraid that if they cooked another meal they would spit in it or do something to it, I did tell him that. Anyway, the upshot of all this is that in my opinion, the customer service here is rubbish, no one complaining should be threatened with being beat up by a member of staff. I shall never order from here again.

Always order take aways from this restaurant. The flavours are very authentic. Unfortunately I had a bad experience with my last order on Wednesday 21st June. One of the dishes didn't get delivered, so I contacted the restaurant and they said they will send the dish out. On delivery of the dish I was given a bag with the dish out of the container and the delivery driver said that the restaurant gave him the dish like this. Very disappointed with the service I received.

Absolutely, Do not miss this place. I waited to post this, gonna give a try. They do not disappoint. Got a fresh from kitchen to door. The chicken dupiaza was juicy and delish. Just the amount of sauce and spices to make nun blush! The vindaloo is amazing, excellent, paired with pilau rice garlic Nan, you can not go wrong. The order was placed, and the food served hot. We enjoyed take out from time to time and Passage doesn’t disappoint, savoury, delightful. Hands down!!! 💁🏻‍♂️

Late review as was lockout of my email, Have ordered a number of times and food very good from here beforw i ordered after 930pm but both the prawn puri and chicken chat was so salty not possible to eat the koria onions was deep fried and not cooked raw meath not cooked long enough. Really disappointed seems food was rushed couldnt eat nothing not sure if i want to risk it again losing my money again.

Food mediocre at the best of times, however far worse was the appalling and inconsiderate customer service that I felt was to the point of contemptuous. EXTREMELY bad and rude attitude from staff members. Certainly do not recommend and I will NEVER go again! Would have given a zero star if the option was available. AWFUL experience!

Quoted an hour delivery time. I know it was a friday night but waited 2 hours and 15 mins in the end! Had we just been told the truth in one for the 3 phone calls made to them to find out about the order, it would have been acceptable. We understand that it is a friday night but we ordered at 6.30 and got our food at 8.45. Also told that a refund can’t be offered because we paid on a card but can supposedly get a free meal next time.

An hour and a half later and no show of my delivery. Call the driver, told he hasn’t collected it. Called the restaurant, told it’s left. When pushed I was told In fact they are busy and they hadn’t even cooked it never mind sent it for delivery. When I was visibly irate as now hungry, the exceptionally rude man told me to cancel the order and hung up on me. Avoid!!

The portions are good sizes but the food is not great. We had the chicken jalfrezi and garlic chilli lamb, both were sadly underwhelming. The garlic naan was quite stodgy.

Phoned to complain and got the ‘we were very busy’ excuse rather than an apology. Shame as actually all previous orders have been really good...

The good was great but my order didn’t go through properly on the website and I got charged twice via PayPal. I am still waiting for a £40 refund nearly 2 weeks later.

The food was very nice. However, it was delivered in plastic containers so quite disheartening if you are trying to reduce plastic waste. Metal containers and paper lids would be far preferable please

I was REALLY impressed by the service. The delivery time was super quick, the food was piping hot and each meal was clearly labelled which I really liked. I’ve ordered from Passage to India a few times and I’ve never been disappointed with the food or service. If you’re not sure what to order, call them and discuss what you like and especially what don’t like, they will recommend the best for your taste buds.

They distributed pamphlets (i got it on our front door) of their menu under new management, it says there 15% discount orders through phone and their website. So I went ahead and placed my order through their website. I realized that they didn't give me the 15% discount when my husband asked me about it, so after 10 minutes, I decided to call and asked about the discount. The one who answered said they havent received my order, and that the website is not functioning yet. However, I saw in my bank account, that it is already under pending transaction. He was insisting to place my order to him (while on the phone) and pay again. I asked him why they are distributing pamphlets with that info and their website isn't working? He rudely told me that my question was very silly. So basically, he was saying that they didnt receive my order (but its pending on my bank account). I just let go and decided to just eat our left over. Be careful on their advertisement. It is totally BS.

Always love the food here I've been ordering from them for over 5 years now! The staff are always friendly and helpful, the delivery is quite speedy and haven't had any problems yet!

Not good. Barely any meat in the chicken or lamb curries (literally scraps of chicken) but instead replace with whole onions. More oil in all of the curries than anything else. Veggie curries were better but still soaked in oil.

Really nice takeaway! We ordered here for the first time last night and it didn’t disappoint. Everything was fresh, tasty and not swimming in oil! Arrived hot. Even the delivery man was friendly! Will be our new regular takeaway.

The food is tasty, the quality is good, the portions are generous, the delivery is quick, and the customer service is great. Butter Chicken and Saag Paneer are our favourite dishes from here.

We ordered a take away from the passage to India for the first time. There were six of us and we had an assortment of dishes plus a variety of breads The taste was so good, the portions are huge, delivery was quick and it was excellent value for money. We have been looking for a long time for a good Indian take away and in the passage to India we have finally found it!

Excellent takeaway food. I have ordered from here twice now and the food was delivered well within an hour and it has been hot, fresh and very tasty. I recommend the chicken handi which was especially delicious.

My boyfriend and I have been ordering from this place for over a year and it never fails to impress us. The food is lovely, very affordable, generous in its portions and the staff is never short of kindness and little extra attentions! Would recommend 100%! Also as vegans, there are enough options to keep us happy and which we can’t get enough of! (P.S: the mushroom rice and vegetable bhuna are everything)

Passage to India is one of the best Restaurant's in London suburbian area. The Restaurant owner is a great cook and a generous descent guy from Bangladesh. I used to eat many times out there. My favourite food was Chicken Tikka Masala with Pilau Rice and Pappadoms. I suggest that if you want to enjoy a great meal you must visit Passage to India. Gosh I miss their food. From Nexhat.

Ordered food for delivery tonight online for the first time. Kukd website worked perfectly. Excellent and polite service when we rang the restaurant to add a dish which we paid cash for on delivery. The food arrived ahead of schedule and was incredible. As good as any we’ve ever had! Sensational!

Everything was good and we even got a free portion of something Dal Samba-esq, but they were a bit skimpy on the poppadoms. We ordered one portion of poppadoms and they delivered two poppadoms - other Indian take-aways usually given us at least 4 poppadoms in one portion.

Really awful, place has gone down hill so much. I used to order twice a week. Tonight my mixed grill was all in one container dry and hard. Saag aloo was tasteless. Also asked for rice instead of bread which was ignored. The mixed grill went in the bin.

Vindaloo was ok. Not like what we used to get in Goa taste wise. more like spicy tomato curry. tikka nice. rice good.

Fantastic all-round. They added ten minutes to the initial time, as I think is fairly standard practice, and then managed to deliver ten minutes in advance of that. Delivery man was very friendly, food was hot, correct and delicious.

The food here is incredible. Being half Indian myself I'm pretty fussy. Best Saag Aloo I've had in years. Delivery man is super lovely too. It would be nice to have a few free poppadoms but hey you can't have it all!

Lovely flavoursome dishes with generous portions. The curries I had were rich in sauce with plenty of meat and not too oily. I wouldn't order the tilapia fish tikka starter again, as I found it very chewy. Vegetable rice made with good quality basmati was lovely. The best Indian takeaway in my area.

My Raita was in the same bag as my hot food so wasn't very pleasant when it got to me. Warm and watery. Meals were ok, the Spinach and Paneer dish i'm used to isn't as sweet as the one I received tonight but that'll just be recipe difference between restaurants . Cheese naan had next to no cheese in it though which was disappointing as you pay quite a bit extra for this.

The food is tasty and good quality, but i ordered my food for a few hours time and it came about an hour early. The guy who delivered said they just deliver the food asap and ignore if you want I early, so don't order until you're hungry basically.

We only order our Indian takeaways from this restaurant but this time something wasn't right with the food guys! The dhansak had tons of oil floating on the top which was unusual and the daal was like soup :( Also even though it was a free side given - I don't actually know what it was meant to be. It had nothing in it but a orange watery soupy liquid?? We love you normally and maybe you had a bad day - but it wasn't up to your usual standard :( Sorry!!

Would recommend ordering from these guys, all the gravies tasted different and authentic, the lamb was perfect!

Food was a little greasy, but the taste was good. Portion size was okay, but could do with being increased a bit (rice was nearly full, but the korma was half the pot, if that). Delivery had 15minutes added and then arrived another 15 minutes after that, making the delivery time about an hour and a half in the end, and as they don't have properly insulated bags, the food was unfortunately warm at best on arrival, which is a shame as it was otherwise nice.
