I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely return. I noticed some other reviewers describing the hotel as needing refurbishment. I wouldn't agree. If you usually only stay in those plain modern hotels like Holiday Inn you might think The Imperial is outdated but it's just styled in its time. Everything is nicely kept, clean and comfortable. The staff are all charming and cannot do enough to help you. The location is second to none - on the seafront but within its own gardens away the esplanade which can be busy. I had a superior room with a balcony which is more expensive but worth it unless you're not going to spend much time in the room. You get the sun pouring in most of the day and a good sunset over the hills. Heating in the room is electric and thermostatically controlled. It resets itself in the night and I found it a little chilly first thing in the morning. Breakfast was tasty and fairly priced at £10 for the hot and cold buffet. If you only want a bowl of cornflakes and a coffee you might think it's expensive. Car parking is an extra £6 per night which I always begrudge when you are already paying £100+ per night. And they use one of those cowboy parking enforcement companies with cameras everywhere and a track record of conning money out of people so I wouldn't even risk driving in to drop luggage off. That's my only gripe. At least the parking cost is not excessive compared to nearby alternatives.

Haven’t had a chance to experience the hotel, and never will! The hotel front staff member was insanely rude and ignorant as I briefly stopped by to enquire about staying and potentially hosting a wedding. Saw ONE pair of cufflinks of interest to buy, and about to leave before being accused of taking photos… in A PUBLIC AREA of said cufflinks. As I mentioned I was seeking to stay, there was no further eye contact and got ignored. Apparently the hotel doesn’t want my business…

Good hotel, in good location in Exmouth. Room ok, clean, tidy and well presented. Goods nights sleep as quiet room. No comments on food as didn't eat in hotel. On site parking, although £6 per day parking. The hotel needs some TLC and updating. It's a 3 star hotel. Would recommend

We stayed in a superior room which had a private balcony overlooking the beach and sea. The room was large, modern, and comfortable, which ensured that we had a lovely short break. Definitely recommend 👌 👍

Lovely old hotel. Must have been magnificent in it's heyday! Staff friendly and hardworking. Meals superb and beautifully presented but a little slow between courses. Great value for money!

Whilst there are some lovely pictures online, the rooms that haven't been renowned aren't worth the money. Had I known, I would have stayed at the Premier Inn. I think the room would have been to a higher standard for a cheaper price.

Page Park Bowls Club have just completed a four day weekend stay which a great success. Our 50 players were all impressed with the value for money accommodation and the quality of meals. On completion we thanked Debbie - Manageress for a well run hotel, which she attributed to her staff.

A great place to stay, especially if you have dogs!! Situated right on the front, this hotel not only accommodates for humans, but also for their canine companions! The rooms are comfortable, if a little dated, but the glory of finding somewhere that me and my dogs could stay in the same room more than made up for it.

Overall nice hotel... Staff excellent....breakfast and evening meal excellent ...good standard of service.. all staff well presented.. polite and very helpful..However we were very disappointed with our room...expected a much better standard for what we paid...think my husband has already mentioned the wardrobe not being cleaned and had to clean it ourselves...and the ripped curtain. Bathroom was clean but needs updating...beds were clean but room was dreary and no views as were located on lower floor...ie.basement...the patio doors and mirrors were very smeary as also noted in public areas too....a bit more TLC would upgrade hotel considerably...The gardens were lovely albeit a bit more TLC.

Imperial hotel is a very nice place. Lovely interiors. Staff were very helpful and Professional. Meals were Very Good...But?. There is always a bit... Wardrobe was Very Dirty, Had to get a cloth to clean it up my as cleaner has gone home. That was the only let down staying there.also Curtain was rip and did not look very good in a nice place like this...we were offered a different room, But I looked at it, it was very outdated and dark over looking carpark. Not very inspiring....

Does what it says on the tin. It’s a hotel with decent rooms, close to the beach and amenities at a very reasonable price. Staff on reception were friendly and nothing seemed too much. The room we were given was a bit dated and the fixtures and decor didn’t match the photos but we put this down to the fact we had a dog and these are the ‘dog friendly’ rooms. However I find it strange that there are no dog poo bins on the large premises even though it is a dog friendly hotel.

It's fine for a night or 2 but the rooms are a bit dated and small for a stay any longer. Staff were polite and friendly though, didn't try the food.

Second visit here and food is nice. Such a shame though that some of the cutlery was dirty and the plate was so obviously unclean! Dried on red food stains under my scampi and chips. No way this wouldn’t have been noticed. Sorry, not acceptable for the money paid

We enjoyed our night at this well run, clean and friendly hotel. The three course evening meal was freshly prepared and delicious. Our room was spotless and well presented. We both are surprised this is only a two star rated hotel, as our experience exceeded many four stars we’ve stayed in. Our breakfast was again delicious. The staff are all attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. It has ample parking and a beautiful rear garden with seating. If we are in the region again, we would wholeheartedly head for The Tumbling Weir, Thank~you
