Great local pub with the best pizza in the area. It's only the Sheppard neame beer that is meh. Guinness on draught though is my go to when I see spitfire at the pump.

The Imperial is due a bit of a rave. I don't think you could pretend it's fine dining. It does pizza and pasta and a small selection of other Italian dishes. The service is friendly and accommodating, the pizzas are excellent and the prices are reasonable. If you were going to go to Pizza Express, Zizzi, Bella Italia or the like and want somewhere better this is definitely it. My son and I had a really good evening. We'll be back. Probably quite regularly.

Went to local church then a meal at the Imperial. We had a fabulous meal and the service was brilliant. We are moving to the street opposite so will become our local.

On a recent visit, we had burger, pizza and drinks, good quality food, great service and atmosphere will visit again. Paid cash and had a dine in meal.

The only decent 'pub' in Southborough. Went in on Friday evening and very busy. Staff were prompt and friendly and good atmosphere.

It's OK we had a meal serve wrong drinks food not great. Not a place I will revist

We visited on a Saturday afternoon where there was a lovely laid -back atmosphere, good food, great service with a smile and loved the wine bottle chandelier!

Dropped by for lunch for the second time. Pub has a lot of character and looks like it was built around the 1900s. Many original fittings and suberbly and lovingly restored. Food is served in an annex with about 6 tables. Had a pizza which could have come out of Naples. Chewy with the freshest of ingredients. The Mrs had the duck confit and was as crisp as anything. The chef certainly knows his stuff. Portions were huge and had no space for desserts. Pub has a beer garden at the back and there is free parking. Staff were a cheery lot. I will be back.

Popped in for a quick drink, friendly staff, good atmosphere. Shame they only Whitstable Bay beer on pump. Hopefully, they will have something else later.

Great pub even if one can't drink they do a lovely cup of coffee. Pizzas are popular. Master Brew real ale, suddenly far more drinkable than pre covid days.

This place used to be somewhere I would avoid, but we recently revisited to meet some friends. The transformation of this place is incredible, newly decorated, great staff and the food was amazing, pizzas to die for. Worth a visit

Early weekday evening, nice and quiet. Good choice of beers, ciders and other alcoholic drinks. Nice beer garden at rear. Staff very pleasant and attentive.

Great atmosphere, good beer and food

Went for a last minute Sunday lunch and found them very accommodating. The food is superb. I had the confit duck served with garlic and herb potatoes. The skin was crispy and delicious and the flesh just fell off the bone and the potatoes were crispy and delicious too. Also there was a friendly, lively atmosphere and friendly staff. I can definitely recommend this pub.

I asked for a pint of the cheapest lager I gave the barman £5 he put it in the till and walked off. I asked him where my change was he told me that it was £5. I found out from another customer it wasn't the cheapest. When I challenged the barman he just shrugged his shoulders & walked off.

Nice atmosphere, good service & food, all at a sensible price. Highly recommend. Locals need to use this pub or it will be gone forever

Nice pub, good service. Nice light and airy space indoors, good size outdoor seating area mostly under cover. Selection of beers not really to my taste but I found something I enjoyed, I expect they're limited in their offerings by the brewery. Food was excellent, accommodated dietary requirements and provided lots of choice. Food came quickly and when it arrived it was delicious. Will be visiting again.

Great little pub in southborough, thee food was quick and the service was good too. The drinks weren't bad either but I should hope so. They have covered the outside area with scaffolding to accommodate the covid dilemma, it's not the nicest Looking (bit picky) but certainly does the job .

Friendly with a splendid pint of draught spitfire or two. Could have had Whitstable Bay. Many draught lagers etc.

The friendliest welcome you could wish for - landlord Alban is a beautiful person and the food and atmosphere were as fabulous as always.

Staying at a nearby hotel (the hand and sceptre) was recommended here by the staff to watch the football, great pub glad for the recommendation. The staff were friendly and helpful will definitely stop by again when in the area. Thank you

Really friendly staff, accomodating and welcoming. Only stopped for one on a brief stop when passing through but well worth a stop.

Lovely friendly experience. Lovely sheltered area now built over the garden with heating above each table. We had a group of six for a sit down meal and a few drinks. Really good food and reasonably priced, our only grumble would be the dessert menu that isn't really enticing for a cold April's night sat outside. A few hot desserts would be a lovely addition to the menu.. other than that we can't wait to visit again soon.

Ladies toilets need major attention. Mould is now visible on the restaurant side of the toilet wall. That said the staff and manager are very friendly and accommodating... just please , for the love of god sort out the 'Ladies' toilets... they are 'Ladies' not animals!

The food is great, so we had to take advantage of the "eat out, to help out" The only reason its not a 5 star was the lack of atmosphere and this is purely down to lack of people. The staff are attentive and professional. Each time we have been, it has been an amazing experience. Highly recommend this place.

Good small pub. Surprisingly good food and we were able to book a spot in view of the TV for the rugby with an hour or so's notice on England game day. Dogs welcome!

Really nice, home-cooked Italian food (pizzas and pie were great!). Bit of a mixed setup in traditional pub and restaurant and the homemade Nutella ice cream wasn't to our taste...great for the price though and real quality food

Alessandro and his team created a fantastic buffet for my father-in-law's wake and nothing appeared to be any trouble at all. The food was absolutely delicious and plenty of it too. If you are looking to organise a function on Southborough The Imperial is highly recommended!

Dirty inside and out. Chef on holiday so no food. Barmaid very rude to customers. She called the police on a young family as the parents had brought some chips for there little boy. We felt so sorry them certainly wouldnt reccomend it to anyone. The place needs a good clean and the barmaid was left on her own with no help so I think that's why she was so obnoxious to customers. Theres a much nicer pub up the road who serve good food and are friendly

As per usual the Imperial doesn't disappoint. Lovely and welcoming, to us and our 2 dogs who drag us in there they like it so much! The atmosphere is cosy, the food and drink is great as is the service. We love it there.

What a gem! Found refuge whilst our kids went to their prom. As we didn't know the area, we just went to the nearest pub. So glad we did. Absolutely delicious food and lovely, friendly staff. The apple doughnuts were exquisite! I would return every week but sadly we live in Ashford, so it's just too far to come. On the other hand.....those apple doughnuts.....

Fantastic pub in a small village in the very green region of Kent. Friendly and helpful staff. Run by an Italian, you can enjoy dishes from both traditions. Good beers. Nearby is Hever Castle, which was the residence of Anne Boleyn, wife of Henry VIII. Super recommended for an alternative itinerary.

Not eaten here before. I’d driven past it for years thinking It was simply a pub, Then I read on TA that this place had a great Italian menu. Well they’re right! I am not entirely on board with the decor. We were a table of 4 food lovers. We were seated to the side of the bar in a tiny dining area. But when the food arrived we didn’t care. It was delicious! The seafood pasta, carbonara and cod loin were all fresh, wholesome and consumed with pleasure. Two of us had the Arancini to start. My only criticism was that these were very filling, perhaps a bar snack size so we were quite full already before the main course arrived! Our waitress, a Sicilian herself, provided good food recommendations. The service was attentive without being distracting - water was replaced on the table without asking - for me a sign of care and genuine hospitality, Well Done The Imperial. We do have two vegans in the family who weren’t with us the night we visited the Imperial. I am not certain there is sufficient choice on the current menu to return with our full family but for the four non vegans in the family this is a great choice. In balance, a vegan friend has since told me that the Imperial will go out of their way to cater for them when they visit with friends. So no need to avoid but perhaps not a first choice.

As usual, had a good meal here. Great mussels and delicious tiramisu. Good pub atmosphere and efficient service.

Fantastic pub run by a very friendly Italian family, the food is fantastic. Great decor inside and really nice garden. Very good beer on tap, I've never had a bad pint here!

I have been to The Imperial Pub many times and have always had a lovely experience, they serve decent beers, lagers and ales and the Italian food the serve is delicious, the staff are always very attentive and the place is lovely and clean, I can highly recommend one of the specials pizzas they serve called 'Tom's Special' I believe its named after one of the OAP's who frequent the pub, definitely worth a try. I will be returning, Thankyou once again.

My first visit after a long day working in a pub funnily enough. I was pleasantly surprised to find a proper old school boozer. Well kept beer and a friendly crowd. What more do you need? The food offering looks good from a glance at a chalkboard so I may well visit again for lunch.

nice little pub...... didn't try any food...so can't comment on that hence 4 stars

we walk in without any booking on a sunday afternoon. the place was very full, but the staff and the manager were very polite and told us that they could sit us in 15/20min. we had a drink and as soon as somebody left we were sitting in a comfortable position. we shared a starter of crescentine (fried pieces of pizza dough) as they do in Bologna, as main we had a pizza. the experience was very positive, the pizza was very good (as you could have found in any pizzeria in Italy). I definitely going to come back and try other food I saw a fish soup in the menu that look very interesting
