The Ilkley Cafe Company in Bradford

Had a lovely lunch, the staff were so friendly, the food was tasty and well presented. I enjoyed it so much I would go back again, in fact I did the day after!.

Lovely atmosphere, friendly and welcoming staff. Lovely food. Felt so comfortable sat by the window watching the world go by. Happy feel good factor radiates - Ilkley Cafe Company kindly supported some local causes - some years ago Ilkley Bandstand.

I was faced with my favourite dilemma in this cafe today. Which proper home made cake to go for. There was a lovely looking courgette and lime or equally tempting apple, coconut and cinnamon. I went for the latter and it was absolutely splendid. The coffee is nice enough, but me and my aunt agreed that it could be a bit stronger. We sat out onthe terrace today and it was lovely. If I could, I'd give this place an extra star for not letting soggy dogs inside. I mean, I love cafes that let dogs in, but it must be a lot of extra work, cleaning up after them. And some people are allergic. And dogs are dogs, and drizzle is drizzle. If they can find a way of offering gluten free cake again, that would be lovely for my poor aunt, who had to watch me devouring my non-gluten free slice of heaven, while she went without. Whoever made mine has skills, so should be able to rustle up a pretty good gf one. The breakfast menu looked fabulous, didn't see the lunch menu but my aunt says it's excellent food, her favourite Ilkley cafe. Go on, make her a cake!

Called with my dog so regrettably had to sit outside on the terrace. That was the only downside, I had a most delicious piece of rhubarb and vanilla cake served with a rhubarb syrup. My latte was also excellent. Feel harsh not giving 5 stars but sat out in the drizzle

I went here recently and ordered the thyme buttered mushrooms while my friend had the katsu chicken burger. We loved it - such a lovely space and the food was delicious and very fresh. My dish in particular was one of best mushroom dishes I’ve ever had (Im a veggie and try and order this kind of thing often). Service friendly and efficient too. We felt spoilt for choice in Ilkley as we were on a day out from Manchester, but so glad we chose this place. Highly recommended.

I am sorry to have to write a negative review, but people should know what to avoid in a restaurant. We had lunch here in Feb 2023, even though our daughter an Ilkley local said don’t. My wife ordered eggs Benedict, and the chef had not drained the spinach sufficiently so the muffins were soggy. The eggs were a little overcooked (but I can forgive that). The Hollandaise was okay. About 2 out of 5. . I had the fish fingers in sourdough toast. (A play on a fish finger sandwich). The fish was very poor quality (being grey and old) yet it was claimed to be made in house. The coleslaw was like something from the 1970’s. The cabbage too coarse and too much mayonnaise, made it sickly. I worked in the catering industry all over the world for 41 years so know a little about food, I had a £60 million budget for food. About 1 out of 5 if I was judging a Young Commis Chef competition. Obviously this is only our experience which is unfortunate, and others reviewers have had nice food. With so many other restaurants in Ilkley (where we live), Emporio Italia (excellent), and Galo’s (not the rump steak but the chicken with tomato & herbs was superb) are very good and highly recommended.

Food exceptional. All freshly cooked/prepared. Attractively presented - delicious our panini and katsu burger. Sweet potato chips divine. Location ideal - lovely relaxing setting. Sooo good that it opens Mondays & Tuesdays when most cafes are not open or close early. Can't wait to be back.

Visited ikley yesterday and had no idea where to eat. After walking around for sometime we came upon the ikley cafe company. Unfortunately we couldn't see inside as the windows were missed up but we were tired of looking and just decided to go for it ..on entering it appeared very nice and a lovely young woman showed us a table we ordered two coffees and scrambled egg on toast and a sandwich with sweet potato fries everything was delicious coffee served in large mugs which seems to be a dying practice...we were very pleased with everything and the service was super lovely friendly young women and quick ..its now my go to place ..so please dont let the windows put you off and give this place a try .x

Popped in for some late - lovely panini/ cake and the service was very good and friendly, but the Chai Latte was the best ever!! Delicious.

I love this little place. The staff are really friendly and kind. The menu has such a great choice and the prices are very reasonable, plus the coffee is lovely! I also like that they will let you book outside unlike a lot of places, and have outdoor heating. I have never found it cold inside.The fishcakes are excellent and like another reviewer, I can highly recommend the chocolate Guinness cake! It never disappoints.

Been here a few times for brunch. The food is delicious and the staff really friendly and efficient. However, the place is freezing! (everyone sat with coats and scarves on!!). I did ask if the heating was on and the girl said it takes ages to warm up (I was sat next to a clap cold radiator.... I'm sure a local plumber could sort that out...and the toilet that's been broken for ages!?!) I'll definitely return, but perhaps when the weather warms up a bit!

This was my first visit. The welcome was warm and friendly. The menu is nice and simple. There’s both inside and outside seating and it’s clean!! Food was tasty and very well presented. Definitely come back on a day out. Tucked away up a side road but worth finding.

We enjoyed our coffee. But waited ages before scones arrived- they were solid like puddings, with very few currants. We suspect they came out of a freezer and were heated to make them edible. Poor experience, marred our trip to Ilkley.

Both the food and the service at The Ilkley Cafe Company are exceptional. The staff are friendly and accommodating and the food really is a cut above - highly recommended the katsu curry burger!
