We stopped here for a Devonshire Cream Tea this afternoon, having travelled from Norfolk for a few days in the area, and were met by two absolutely wonderful ladies who made us welcome from the moment we stepped inside. Very polite and engaging people who served us the most delightful afternoon tea we have ever enjoyed. Service was impeccable, as were the scones/teas. A real delight to visit and we look forward to the next visit. Thank you for helping to make our afternoon such an enjoyable one.

A great and friendly coffee stop for cyclists. A great view over the Weald of Kent. Really welcoming coffee stop when out on a ride. Well worth the grind up Ide Hill to reward your efforts with a coffee and cake. We chose to take the ride up Ide Holl to avoid the rude and arrogant Pronto Bistro in Four Elms. Which is not a Bistro - it’s not even a third rate Cafe! Visit the Hill Community Shop instead!!!

I was horrified to witness a cyclist verbally abusing staff at the Ide Hill shop on Sunday. He asked if his water bottle could be filled up with water and the girls explained that because of COVID they were unable to do it. His temper flared immediately and accused the shop of making money from the situation! The girls did explain that there were bottles of cold water in the fridge or he could go into the gents and fill up his water bottle there. The verbal abuse continued as he left the shop. There was another cyclist outside who asked him not to speak to the girls so rudely. He then turned on the cyclist shouting and swearing at him. I have always been welcomed at IDE Hill shop. The staff are always polite and helpful. Please, please watch your manners (and language) towards the staff and remember these wonderful people give up their free time for us. THEY ARE VOLUNTEERS that have done an amazing job all through this terrible pandemic making sure that we have had a well stocked community shop. Many thanks from a very appreciative customer. Well done to all of you.

I had forgotten my money and had run out of water cycling to the top of Ide Hill. I entered the shop with a mask on and asked for some tap water. I was refused due to covid restrictions. This is the 1st time since the pandemic this has happened. I was dehydrated and probably did not communicate to well (angry) But surely on the hottest day of the year tap water should be available. I was told I hadn't bought anything in the shop and that it was none profit making. If asked I would off gone back and made a donation. Very rude and belittling staff

This shop epitomises a lovely village. It is amazing, it sells almost everything from fresh fruit and vegetables, newspapers, puncture repair kits, gifts, cards, dairy produce, animal food., wine etc The only thing I can think of that it doesn't sell is cigarettes It is a very pretty shop with wonderful views. Unfortunately it only does teas and coffees to take away at the moment because of Covid. Hopefully they will soon be back on the menu inside

When the weather is dry I love to visit this community shop/cafe. The formula is a community shop run by the community! The location is superb, on a height looking over Bough Beech. The shop is clean, well stocked and friendly....and they serve lovely coffee. Dogs are welcome outside on the terrace (where you have the best views). If you’re in Sevenoaks, Hever or Chartwell areas it’s well worth a stop off.

You could easily miss this gem of a stop off, so keep your eyes open. If the weather is fine you can sit outside with a pot of tea and a cake or whatever and feast on an unobstructed view of Kent's garden of England at its best. Staffed by friendly locals this place is a delightful spot in which to while away a peaceful hour or so.

Stopped at Ide Hill and saw this shop so as it was a hot day thought we would purchase an ice cream People were sitting outside eating and drinking the door was open and a woman was standing behind the counter We asked “Do you sell ice cream”? She replied briskly “We do but we are closed” You would think these days when people are not spending in shops that they would of been grateful of custom Will not be back.....suggest you go somewhere else

If you're in the vicinity you must pop in to The Ide Hill Community Shop. You'll receive a wonderful welcome from their super friendly and helpful staff (most of whom are volunteers) plus they offer lots of lovely treats to have with good cup of coffee and a wide selection of teas. Fabulous local produce also for sale - never tasted strawberries or asparagus like it. I'll be back soon

My favourite pit stop without a doubt. It's worth it just for the scenic views of the reservoir but the volunteers are a dedicated bunch and nothing is too much trouble. The Ide Hill community are well looked after. If you have time it's worth a walk in the woods round to the village church. If you are heading in the general direction of Edenbridge then make sure you give it a try

This place is set high above the Bough Beech Reservoir, and the outside seating area offers one of the best views in Kent ( on a fine day of course)It is run by volunteers, who are always friendly. The place sells cakes, scones, tea and coffee ,and a wide array of sandwiches and other “ nibbles”, all of which come freshly made and at a very reasonable price. If you visit try the “ Cream Tea”, It also acts as a Post Office !!!!Just below the shop, there are toilet facilities, which are also well maintained .If you at a cyclist, and if you like “ hills” then you could not ask fro a better stop. There is ample parking too for cars. On one side you have Ide Hill, and on the other side, Toys Hill, together with beautiful countryside all around.I rarely award five stars, but if you decide to visit, then I do think that you will agree with my rating

Ide Hill Community Shop is staffed by volunteers but offers a wonderfully broad set of products at competitive prices for the local villagers and visitors to this lovely part of the Garden of England. Definitely worth a visit to have a tea or coffee with a piece of cake whilst looking across Bough Beech reservoir down in the valley below.

Sunday morning coffee before a day's walking. No great expectations, but this place is a gem. Manned by helpful volunteers, it offers everything a village shop should, plus great coffee and pastries and a range of gifts. Marvellous views south over the Weald and Bough Beech reservoir. Joy spoiled only by tacky public loos - come on, local council, Ide Hill deserves better.

I stopped at this lovely wooden barn of a shop overlooking the valley below and the reservoir in order to buy a snack . I came away with coffee and freshly made scones as well as gorgeous fresh strawberries from less than five miles away which tasted a million dollars . I sat outside on the patio with my coffee looking over the picturesque valley which was lovely . The whole experience was enhanced by the lovely volunteers who served me . It's a real community venture this and well worth supporting . And the date wholemeal scones were to die for .

We had a cream tea here on a beautiful sunny day in April such a quaint little shop. Rather limited in its range of food, pre packed sandwiches and cream teas served on paper plates. As it is a community shop everything has to be packed for convenience, still a good place to stop

Lovely spot to stop and admire the view and take on some well-deserved cycling fuel: coffee and cake. Cyclists flow through here on the weekends in good weather when the stop is enjoyable. There is an outdoor terrace and plenty of room for bikes. Staff are very friendly, shop is well stocked with pretty much every sort of snack you can think of, they also sell walking and cycling maps and books and local Kentish products- crisps, Apple juice etc. The prices are fair for coffee and cake, the cake and scones are very good with only the coffee leaving a bit to be desired. You can now pay on your card (£5 minimum spend) so there's not much to complain about. Enjoy the view at this top spot for a mid-ride break

Went on Friday and was very poor ( I said before I wouldn’t go again & wish I hadn’t ). No poached eggs as they were “too busy” & can you believe they’d run out of bread by 2 o’clock? How about you send someone to Waitrose to restock ? Definitely my last visit. Will go to Gail’s or one of the other places . This is a cafe without a toilet that charges top notch prices and doesn’t offer the food or service to match .
