Excellent Ambience, prompt service, friendly and polite staff, good comfortable rooms In the dining hall- Saraa, deep, Dhimant and Yasseen and chef Abhijit and for the overall supervision and contact - Soham were very helpful and diligent.

We turned up late to charge the car at the safe,secure Tesla super charger and decided to get a bite to eat. We had our dog Lily with us so we had to sit outside. Time was was getting on and she had not eaten. The great team of Saraa and Yassine kindly spoke to the kind chef who also cooked some chicken for her. Lovely team,lovely location and lovely food.

Highly recommended, and here’s why: The service, esp from Saraa & Hamid, was absolutely unbelievably outstanding! They all made for an amazing experience. All the staff are clearly very happy to be part of the team at the hotel & restaurant. We had afternoon tea. The sandwiches were freshly prepared by Hamid and they tasted so delicious that we didn’t have room for the cakes and scones! There is plenty of onsite complimentary parking. Thank you ever so much.

Dhimant & Sara made sure we were well looked after and even brought a birthday pudding as a surprise! They gave excellent service and were warm and friendly. Some dishes were better than others. We had a meagre portion of chips with the burgers and there could have been more flavours but my table were very happy and we went to enjoy the escape room which was brill. Overall it’s worth a visit!

Have stayed at the Donnington Manor Hotel on at least six business trips throughout the summer. Great service, great people. Thanks to Saraa, Dhimant, Deep and all the other staff whose names I don’t have. Will continue to use this gem of a hotel in the Kent countryside. Martin.

You are warmly received by Emily when entering the restaurant. Emily was very welcoming and professional. Menu is limited but what you receive is of high quality, recommend a chefs special to make the selection a better experience. All the staff provided excellent service and it was great to see that all worked well as a team. Keep up the great work. 31/08/24 Update, been staying here now for nearly a year and seen some changes over that time. However today is the best change they have done since I started to stay here… finally they have now started to serve Indian food in the restaurant, and wow what a treat that was. The food was outstanding, great job chef 👌 Be great to see it become a permanent feature on the menu 🙏 Wonderful service from Sarar and Dhimant, well both! Will defiantly be back for some more of the Indian cuisine

Due to a family tragedy we were down in Kent and stayed at this marvellous hotel. Our barman Yassine was superb, and the experience lifted the mood following the funeral. My parents and siblings enjoyed their meals, and we may have enjoyed our drinks a little too much.

We ate early so not many in restaurant. Best ribeye steak ever had! Freshly cooked cod and chips. Husband needs Gluten Free food and they were knowledgeable and helpful. Our waiter Dhimant was attentive and friendly.

Saraa has been absolutely brilliant and is a credit to your hotel. Nothing is too much trouble, she goes above and beyond to make the hotel experience the best it can be. The hotel is welcoming, especially as I am a solo traveller, and all staff are professional and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed our pitstop at this hotel today. We were charging our car and visited the Spectrum Bar & Lounge. Dhimant was wonderful - welcoming us in Reception; taking the food and drinks order in the bar; and serving us very efficiently and politely. The ambience in the bar was peaceful and relaxing with gentle piano music playing. We will certainly return next time when both car and passenger gets need a recharge! Thank you.

My friend and I had an afternoon tea with prosecco. The food was delicious. Lovely fresh bread and nice fillings. We did swap cucumber sandwiches for cheese and tomato. They provided plain scones as well as fruit and unlimited tea on request. The cake selection was fabulous and we were very full and couldn't finish everything. I will return for this again.

We had my Great Aunt’s 90th birthday at this restaurant and we had a lovely time. Fantastic service from Dhimant who was super friendly and helped us with organising the cake.

Lovely waitress (Saraa) who was really lovely and very attentive and helpful. Food could have done with slightly more seasoning but the portion sizes were good and the food wasn’t bad.

We were staying at the hotel and had just completed a very long hike from Merstham. We didn’t want to travel anywhere else that day, so decided to have dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, The Chartwell. I will caveat what I am going to say with the fact that we weren’t expecting the best meal ever. It was a matter of convenience for us more than anything else. We ordered the fish and chips and a meat feast pizza, along with a couple of drinks. The pizza arrived and it was clearly a bought pizza base (which is fine) but it had been undercooked. The toppings and mozzarella were plentiful but the pizza itself was doughy. The fish and chips were fine; the chips were actually really good. The mushy peas were a little on the cool side. The fish was tasty in a nice batter but I found five bones. I pointed this out to our server (didn’t make a big deal of it) and he returned from the kitchen to apologise. The chef had apparently said that it’s difficult finding all of the bones in the fish as it arrives frozen. I get it, but I remember watching my dad painstakingly remove all of the bones from fillets of cod (which arrived frozen) each morning as we used to own a chip shop and it’s either go through the long process or put somebody’s health (and your reputation) at risk if they choke on a bone. I think, in this situation, some compensation should have been offered but it wasn’t. Our server, Dhimant, was perfectly polite. The restaurant was very quiet hence the low atmosphere score. I’m sure it would be better with more customers in there. Overall, we didn’t expect a lot and didn’t get a lot. I think it is quite lazy cooking as a means to get by and the basics require attention to detail as much as the more exciting dishes on the menu. I’m sure there are some dishes they do well but unfortunately they weren’t the ones we ordered.

I have been traveling all over the country for work many years, the service I have received here from Saraa is absolutely outstanding. Everything from the welcoming smile to delivering my food, making sure it was all in order and clearing the table promptly after finishing. Staff like this are the main reason I go back to the same hotels. Really impressed with the whole experience and looking forward to staying again, thanks Saraa!
