The Hut Beefeater in Eastleigh

Hi. Just I entered for lunch and they not answer back my hello and said we are booked for evening. I asked for lunch menu as they advertised but said no staff and we can give you chips. The chips and beer was bad and it’s better they close it. Please even don’t try it with this rude people.

This place is lovely, the food is always top notch and the staff are fantastic!! Sadly they are closing down soon 😔. I just hope all the staff find other jobs soon and don't get left wondering what is coming next. The staff deserve pay rises! not to be told see ya later! Good luck to you all!

What a shabby place. The first thing that greets to is a rotten decking area followed by two dead hanging baskets. Everything looks like it's seen much better days and the entire place is run down. There's a sign at the till saying 'we're short staffed please bear with us', so all in all you get a total negative experience before you've ordered anything. If they are short of staff it would be better for the staff to acknowledge you and just say 'I'll be with you as soon as we can'. We booked a table online for 8pm and arrived for drinks at 7.30pm. Whilst we were sat the table email was sent asking for us to arrive earlier as the kitchen will be closed at 8.30pm. Given that it is a Friday night and the atmosphere was dead inside we opted to escape as I feared the food wouldn't be great as it will be rushed and expensive. Staff seemed ok but that's all you can say about the place. It would have been better if the place had been closed rather than send negative messages to people who had never been to a Beefeater before. It needs closing and a thorough refurbishment.

The service and food was amazing! The fillet steaks, especially, were cooked to perfection - as they always are by Jane. Jess, Millie, and Kristie were lovely, nothing was too much trouble. In spite of the recent news they still had smiles on their faces, it’s a pity that they won’t be open for much longer 😭

Tracey gave us excellent service as usual, despite being extremely busy. The chef made a mistake with our steaks, but it was resolved in the form of a discount on the final bill.

Doing a road trip, so I had no idea we had to book a table. The place was Empty and yet they said they couldn’t take us without a reservation.

Always good food here. Had a particularly good rump steak as part of a mixed grill. Our waitress Gemma was bright and cheerful and there when we needed her. Always good value, even better when you have over of their many discount vouchers !

Really friendly staff who always are so accommodating when we visit with our Autistic son. The food is really excellent. The triple cooked chips and the Fillet Steaks are better than a lot of supposedly superior restaurants. Special thanks to Gemma our waitress who looked after us so well, during our visit. Although a little quite, food was very good. Half a roast chicken and a burger, all nice and hot and served in good time. Jessica was very helpfull and friendly and nothing was too much trouble . Would definitely recommend if your in the area. Amble parking .

My family and I recently visited The Hut Beefeater restaurant, hoping for a pleasant dining experience, but unfortunately, it fell far short of our expectations. The food quality was dismal. The beef and ale pie was overcooked, accompanied by peas straight from the freezer, and served with stone-cold chips. Even the children’s meal, a simple burger and chips, was a letdown, with cold chips and a rubbery burger. Our attempts to address these issues with our waiter, Kristie, were met with indifference. Despite multiple complaints, she showed little concern or willingness to address our dissatisfaction. To make matters worse, the dessert options were severely lacking, with key items like churros and cheesecake unavailable. The kitchen hygiene was also concerning, as we witnessed a cook handling food with bare hands and visibly trembling. Even our request to be seated away from the kitchen was dismissed, with no alternative seating offered. Overall, our experience at The Hut Beefeater was disappointing. We hope management takes our feedback seriously to improve the quality of food and service for future patrons.

Turned up to half empty car park only to be told there was no space for 3 in restaurant even though again looked half empty, told we could sit in bar and then left to it! For an industry that works on customer service and is apparently on its knees we didn’t feel welcome at all and as we are local also I was more than disappointed with the service we received, avoid at all costs

Went to the Hut both the steak sampler and lasagne was excellent value for money. We were served by Tracey who was very friendly and signed us up to the new reward card so we have enough points for a free bottle of wine on the next trip (currently 500 points). Food was excellent and service was amazing. 👏

I've been here a couple of times recently, and both times had a voucher to use. I wouldn't have gone back without them. The food is good, but the service is slow. If I had to pay full price, I wouldn't return, which is a shame because the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Was fine but got overcharged £40 for food that wasn’t ordered by us at all.

Firstly would like to say our server Gemma was a lovely waitress, any concerns we had she was very accommodating and apologetic. Great waitress and very friendly and assuring. If there was an option there would be no stars for the food. The chips were uncooked, pale and hard. The fillet steak was too gristly and tough, asked to get changed. Once new fillet steak came back didn’t look like a fillet. The breaded mushroom starter was fried too much it was hard to bite into. Although the food was not nice at all, the server was brilliant as I said.

What an awful meal, 1st steak was overcooked and cold. Replacement was cooked better but not a good piece of steak, looked grey and didn’t smell good, wouldn’t give it to my dog. That’s my last visit to Beefeater!!!

A pleasant lunch to catch up. Shame their Bottomless soft drinks were unavailable- made soft drinks quite expensive by the bottle.

We went for a meal during the week in the evening, there were one long table of people upstairs, three tables downstairs with people and us upstairs. We waited I would day the normal time for food (30 minutes) which the food was okaayy, nothing to brag about then we wait what it felt like forever for the bill. Which we asked the girl twice. For such a quiet evening, the service wasn't great. Would I go back any time soon, probably not. It used to be really good value for money but not anymore unfortunately.

Wow i won't be going here again, the music was so noisy we had to shout to each other on the table. The service was terrible. The lady serving us started off saying she wished she wasnt there, good start! You could tell by the way she spoke to guests she is not fit for the role. Such a shame. Lovely Sunday Roast dinner in nice surroundings and great staff that really look after you, Kristie made sure we had everything we needed despite being extremely busy and made our visit such a great experience.

I was surprised at the number of clients for a midweek lunch, though we were seated with ease. Then I ate and I wasn't any more. The food was excellent and good value. But most of all, the staff were top notch. Our waitress was Tracey.... and she is wonderful! As was the other waitress. I was pleased to observe they worked as a team, making sure things were delivered or dealt with really promptly.

We went on Saturday and it was awful again, it seems when ever it’s busy they just collapse and it goes to pieces. The service was disgusting the staff were ignorant rude and miserable. They messed up our order on multiple occasions and when the food do come the food was awful it had been left out for ages. When we complained the staff were very rude including the manager who had zero customer skills and didn’t apologise once. We had to ask for drinks, ask for food otherwise we would have been sat they all night. Food took ages to come again we had to keep asking, when it came they repeatedly kept sending the wrong food out. We had to ask for the food to be taken off the bill otherwise they wouldn’t have. Not at any point did any staff apologise or explain anything just got ignored. We were Hungary and had to go for something to eat somewhere else. Really angry and disappointed won’t be using this place again not that they care.

Had a lovely meal, in the family friendly restaurant. Brandon was our server. He was a happy, polite young man. Who though is a new member of staff made sure we had everything we needed. One of our favourite places to eat.

I enjoy coming to the hut solo, having a pint on my own. I always have exceptional service particularly from Kristie and Millie. Hats off to the pair of them.

Booked the Valentines set meal for my partner and I as I was going to be away on Valentines day. On arrival we were told there had been a fryer fire and some items weren't available, fair enough these things happen! On asking for the Valentines menu we were told it was for Wednesday only, I questioned this (as its advertised from the 12th to 17th February) only to be told they hadn't received a delivery so it wasn't available! Our waitress was lovely, but the restaurant was really cold.. has to be the worst time we've had at The Hut.

The reason for a 3 rating was because although the restaurant experienced a fire in the kitchen the previous day and thus the menu was restricted, there was a serious shortage of staff which resulted in a wait for our food of 1 hour after...

We were very disappointed with The Hut. We arrived on time for our table, only to wait 10 minutes at the entrance for any staff to come over. We were then told that due to "other customers being slow eaters" that our table wasn't ready...

February 7th. We had our usual friendly greeting and excellent service from Tracey. The steaks were superb, well done Chef Jane.
