We were served by Tracey G who did a fabulous job looking after us during a busy lunch rush, and the steak was fabulous

My family and I recently visited The Hut Beefeater restaurant, hoping for a pleasant dining experience, but unfortunately, it fell far short of our expectations. The food quality was dismal. The beef and ale pie was overcooked, accompanied by peas straight from the freezer, and served with stone-cold chips. Even the children’s meal, a simple burger and chips, was a letdown, with cold chips and a rubbery burger. Our attempts to address these issues with our waiter, Kristie, were met with indifference. Despite multiple complaints, she showed little concern or willingness to address our dissatisfaction. To make matters worse, the dessert options were severely lacking, with key items like churros and cheesecake unavailable. The kitchen hygiene was also concerning, as we witnessed a cook handling food with bare hands and visibly trembling. Even our request to be seated away from the kitchen was dismissed, with no alternative seating offered. Overall, our experience at The Hut Beefeater was disappointing. We hope management takes our feedback seriously to improve the quality of food and service for future patrons.

I've been here a couple of times recently, and both times had a voucher to use. I wouldn't have gone back without them. The food is good, but the service is slow. If I had to pay full price, I wouldn't return, which is a shame because the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Was fine but got overcharged £40 for food that wasn’t ordered by us at all.

Firstly would like to say our server Gemma was a lovely waitress, any concerns we had she was very accommodating and apologetic. Great waitress and very friendly and assuring. If there was an option there would be no stars for the food. The chips were uncooked, pale and hard. The fillet steak was too gristly and tough, asked to get changed. Once new fillet steak came back didn’t look like a fillet. The breaded mushroom starter was fried too much it was hard to bite into. Although the food was not nice at all, the server was brilliant as I said.

Tracey G made our lunch, great service and made us feel really welcome. Also upsold dessert we hardly ever have..

What an awful meal, 1st steak was overcooked and cold. Replacement was cooked better but not a good piece of steak, looked grey and didn’t smell good, wouldn’t give it to my dog. That’s my last visit to Beefeater!!!

I chose off the lunch time menu, which was 2 courses for £ 11.49 or 3 courses but I can not remember the price. Lovely waitress.

Another great night at the hut with the wife, especially with the service from Gemma what an asset she is to the team and restaurant.

Thanks to Kristie for great service and the chef for a great Sunday roast - again! We really enjoyed our visit and have not been disappointed on any of our previous visits either.

We went for a meal during the week in the evening, there were one long table of people upstairs, three tables downstairs with people and us upstairs. We waited I would day the normal time for food (30 minutes) which the food was okaayy, nothing to brag about then we wait what it felt like forever for the bill. Which we asked the girl twice. For such a quiet evening, the service wasn't great. Would I go back any time soon, probably not. It used to be really good value for money but not anymore unfortunately.

After an awful day, this was exactly what we needed. Staff -particularly Millie and Jess - were friendly and helpful. Food and beer was excellent. We'll definitely be back.

Wow i won't be going here again, the music was so noisy we had to shout to each other on the table. The service was terrible. The lady serving us started off saying she wished she wasnt there, good start! You could tell by the way she spoke to guests she is not fit for the role. Such a shame. The food was nothing special, just boil in a bag stuff and pre cooked. So disappointing, we won't be returning

Went for my son's birthday and had a lovely meal. Our waitress was lovely, very attentive, especially as she was up and down the stairs serving us. I'm only up on holiday visiting, but looking forward to coming for a meal the next time I'm down from Glasgow.

We only went in as we were passing by and glad we did. We were greeted within minutes of walking through the door and seated. Our server Sasha was very professional polite friendly and assertive. Food was good and we enjoyed our visit

We have a regular lunch together. Today at The Hut was no different. Super venue, great good and perfect price. Tracey G also made our day. Attentive and fast no sooner as you ask its on the table.

I was surprised at the number of clients for a midweek lunch, though we were seated with ease. Then I ate and I wasn't any more. The food was excellent and good value. But most of all, the staff were top notch. Our waitress was Tracey.... and she is wonderful! As was the other waitress. I was pleased to observe they worked as a team, making sure things were delivered or dealt with really promptly.

Lovely Sunday Roast dinner in nice surroundings and great staff that really look after you, Kristie made sure we had everything we needed despite being extremely busy and made our visit such a great experience.

Popped here for a quick Meal in the Afternoon. Didn't have to wait long for the Food and Drinks. Food was tasty. Gammon and Chips. Waitress was Friendly and Polite. Would go back there again.

We went for Valentine's Day. The set menu was amazing. Perfectly cooked steak, large portions and a nice gin! The service was smooth, friendly and efficient. Thanks for a great night!

We had to ask for drinks, ask for food otherwise we would have been sat they all night. Food took ages to come again we had to keep asking, when it came they repeatedly kept sending the wrong food out. We had to ask for the food to be taken off the bill otherwise they wouldn’t have. Not at any point did any staff apologise or explain anything just got ignored. We were Hungary and had to go for something to eat somewhere else. Really angry and disappointed won’t be using this place again not that they care.

I enjoy coming to the hut solo, having a pint on my own. I always have exceptional service particularly from Kristie and Millie. Hats off to the pair of them.

Had a lovely meal, in the family friendly restaurant. Brandon was our server. He was a happy, polite young man. Who though is a new member of staff made sure we had everything we needed. One of our favourite places to eat.

The Hut was really nice place to go. Cannot thank our server Tracy enough went above and beyond for us and our 2 boys. Highly recommend

Booked the Valentines set meal for my partner and I as I was going to be away on Valentines day. On arrival we were told there had been a fryer fire and some items weren't available, fair enough these things happen! On asking for the Valentines menu we were told it was for Wednesday only, I questioned this (as its advertised from the 12th to 17th February) only to be told they hadn't received a delivery so it wasn't available! Our waitress was lovely, but the restaurant was really cold.. has to be the worst time we've had at The Hut.

The reason for a 3 rating was because although the restaurant experienced a fire in the kitchen the previous day and thus the menu was restricted, there was a serious shortage of staff which resulted in a wait for our food of 1 hour after...

We were very disappointed with The Hut. We arrived on time for our table, only to wait 10 minutes at the entrance for any staff to come over. We were then told that due to "other customers being slow eaters" that our table wasn't ready...

February 7th. We had our usual friendly greeting and excellent service from Tracey. The steaks were superb, well done Chef Jane.

Was a quiet evening when we went but service was still a bit slow. Cold inside, although very cold outside to be fair. Spent 20 minutes looking at our meals on the hot plate; nearly went over to get them myself. Sent main course back as it was not hot, but tasted OK. Had Apple Pie for desert and it was stone cold in the middle so sent it back. They took desert off the menu and gave me one free drink to compensate. Food was cheap but drinks expensive. Couldn't have refillable coke as "gas line had a leak" and no coffee available as coffee machine was broken. Soleless atmosphere; won't bother going again.

We visited recently and it was on the chilly side inside - so wrap up. Our waiter was brilliant very whitty. Food service was a could do better some of our meals were hot others were cold The staff are doing an amazing job

Christmas Day, the staff that serve meals were brilliant. As for the set meal, it wasn't so good we were rushed of the table as they need it for the next booking.

Despite being short staffed and one side of the place being packed, we were provided table service, drinks and food were brought in a timely manner and the bar staff were really friendly towards us and our children. The building itself is a pretty looking thing and inside was cosy and inviting. The food was as you’d expect from a beefeater and was perfect for us just looking for a quick bite to eat as we were passing through the area.

Service was a struggle. Did not want our custom to start with as was told no tables and food would be at least 30 minutes. We asked about the vacant tables in the bar and was then told that we could use them. Food was ordered at the bar and came faster than 30 mins. Staff could do with smile training!

Went for Christmas dinner on Christmas day had to wait in the rain for 15 minutes, before going in as previous sitting didn't leave on time, then waited 1 hour + for drinks and starter, after that service flowed better, staff were very apologetic and it was beyond there control, but it was very long to wait for a drink with 2 young children. Wouldn't go for Christmas day again.

Long overdue review but I had a lovely lunch in the bar area with my mum. The food was great and Tony was most helpful and welcoming. We look forward to coming back next year.

Party of 12 enjoyed Christmas dinner 2023. Staff were AMAZING. They worked relentlessly to ensure we had a wonderful Festive family feast. Despite not having a manager at the helm, they all stepped up to plate, rolled up their sleeves, soldiered on like a well oiled machine, making it so evident that excellent customer service was at the very heart of their intentions. It had inadvertently come to my attention that the previous party booking were being difficult and abusive, refusing to vacate the table, thus delaying our meal booking. The staff, especially Sam, Sacha and Amy, worked tirelessly and efficiently, with smiles and excellent service. They were full of apologies for our inconvenience (unnecessary; I'm not cooking, I'm not cleaning), and even though the pub was absolutely full to bursting, they were regularly and attentively communicating with us on progress before and between courses. This cannot have been easy!!! We felt valued and enjoyed a thoroughly delicious well prepared and presented 3 course meal. It should have been 4, but through no fault of their own AND already an hour past closing time, feeling well looked after, utterly satiated (compliments to the chef and team) and more than adequately compensated for our inconvenience, it was absolutely no skin off our noses to let these tireless hospitality warriors go home and spend what little of the day was left, with their loved ones. When we arrived we were advised that there would be a 30 minute delay. The place looked full. Two young ladies were up and down the stairs - juggling drink orders and food order . The drinks were not delayed by 30 mins I'm pleased...

We really set a challenge for the Hut by booking over 40 people for a 2 course Christmas lunch at the beginning of December- food was ok - came out hot ( if it should have been) and in good time - everyone got fed ! But the whole thing was made great by the staff who were cheerful, helpful and always smiling - many thanks to Kirstie, Sasha, Ana, Jane & James !

Pre christmas lunch was most pleasant despite the busy time we had chosen (1pm). Excellent staff and good hot food which was tasty and plentiful.
