The Hunworth Bell in North Norfolk

We visited whilst on holiday in the area. We were greeted by very friendly staff. Although the restaurant was busy, being a Saturday evening, we were not rushed and enjoyed a leisurely meal. My friend is coeliac and the menu offered her lots of choice. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

A lovely evening with excellent food, warm and friendly service and a peaceful atmosphere. I would certainly recommend it to others.

Just had a family lunch at The Hunworth Bell , I don't leave many reviews but this visit today warrants praise. The surroundings in the restaurant were very pleasant and informal, the staff were very welcoming, the man behind the bar was sincere and did everything right, he described the specials, offered table water, then took our drinks and food order, a credit too his employer, service with a smile but not over the top, the food was well presented portions were ample, warm and tasty. I had Bangers and mash with veg it was perfect, i would definitely recommend this pub for atmosphere, friendly staff and quality of food, the pricing was not cheap but nor was it expensive, its true in this circumstance you get what you pay for. Worth the drive out and would come here again, hope the standard can be maintained at this high level - well done

We all had different meals all good service was great just a shame not just here but most pubs don't seem to be able to make roast potatoes and crispy Yorkshire pudding and a bit sparing with the gravy, maybe the time we went accounted for the potatoes perhaps left over from lunch and recooked sorry that doesnt work, my husband said his were chewy and did t eat them apart from that we enjoyed the evening

Great Sunday lunch. My partner had two starters from the bar menu and the roast beef, which he declared to be excellent. I had a goats cheese and beetroot salad to start followed by scampi. The portions were generous. Lovely friendly service. In comparison to some other local restaurants this was well priced.

Ordered two meals at lunchtime today. Burger was pretty good but nothing special. I chose the belly pork flatbread which was £18. Quite expensive but I thought a relatively healthy option. Unfortunately when it arrived. It was two massive lumps of dry meat - very chewy and certainly not like slow roasted, soft pork. I wouldn’t have been surprised if it was reheated. The flatbread was basically stale and was like eating cardboard. It was difficult to cut and was as hard as rock. We sent it back and I ordered the halloumi burger instead. This was okay but nothing to write home about. They did give us the halloumi burger half price but I’m afraid we couldn’t recommend.

Visited with friends. Good car parking, friendly staff and pleasant decor. I had pork belly which came with a small amount of savoy cabbage, red cabbage and broccoli. The mashed potato and the veg were not as hot as I would have liked. I then had creme brulee which was lovely and came with two homemade biscuits. This came to £28 which I did think was pricey. I would not pay that on a regular basis so I would probably not go there again.

Have been several times, disappointed today. Roast potatoes were reheated and tough to eat,( didn’t taste freshly cooked)

Visited with friends for supper. Beautiful location, warm welcome. Menu choices were excellent. Service was absolutely excellent and the food positively yummy! Highly recommended!

A very warm welcome from sarah who we have known for over 10 yrs. Excellent food and service and very good value. We may have lost the Duck at stanhoe but the extra 25 mins drive is well worth it for the welcome and food.

This is a lovely pub and restaurant, situated in a pretty village with lots of old world charm. We ate lunch with friends here today, we had the dogs with us so were seated in the pretty and cool bar area. This pub is very dog friendly and our dogs were given water to drink after their hot walk. The humans had Moongazer beer (lovely) with a coke for the driver. The service here is always friendly and efficient. The food was very good; well cooked, nicely presented and not too long to wait. We have been here before and we will come back again for sure. We highly recommend this pub.

We booked a table of 5 couple of days beforehand and arrived to a friendly greeting. It turned out to be a busy lunch day with lots of walk ins but the staff managed it well and werr seating people quickly. There is a good sized menu with a range of different food options. We decided to go for 5 bar bites before our mains and they were lovely. The whitebait in particular was delicious with a very light batter and amazing mayo, also for £5 it was a very generous portion. The halloumi fries were also served as a generous portion with thick cuts and a quite a few included in the portion (again very well priced at £5), the pesto dip for these was also delicious. We also had a couple of portions of bread which were full thick slices of tasty bread and served with oils. For the mains we had scampi (twice), halloumi burger, beef kofta and a kids pasta (ham and cheese tagliatelle). To start with the kids meal, amazing quality, think bits of ham and very cheesy. Also served with an extra pot of grated cheese to pour over which I thought was a good touch. A very good sized portion of excellent quality food which beat my 13 year old (who also ordered a side order of fries expecting it be a small portion). For £7 this was a great menu choice and would certainly fill a lot of adults up. The halloumi burger had a huge slice of halloumi, a large field mushroom, beef tomoto slice, tasty bun and homemade onion rings. It was served with fries and the tasty pesto dip that the halloumi fries came with.. delicious. The scampi was served again as a great portion size with a homemade tartar sauce and fries. Fresh tasting scampi and delicious sauce. The beef kofta was amazing with two deliciously cooked koftas, an excellent side salad, flatbread and amazing dips. It was also served with a full portion of fries. After that we were all full so didn't manage puddings! Overall the staff were friendly, although clearly very busy and the bill was fairly reasonable for what we ordered. Certainly looking forward to my next visit. Like most places in Norfolk it will likely involve a drive, but there is a good quality large car park available for customers to use.

We had a really exceptional evening meal with friends, the quality and quantity of the food couldn’t be faulted. Can especially recommend the whitebait, and the fish gouchons. The Hunworth Bell is also beautifully presented, with a very classy interior makeover. Would highly recommend.
