What a find! The food was good - but the lamb koftas were the best I have had anywhere in the world. They are amazing spiced up (only a little) with curry powder. I shall be recreating these! It a very friendly local pub, dogs very welcome and looked after. And the deputy GM Bella, was exactly that; beautifully friendly and professional. She made everyone feel very special. I have to get back here to sample like a Sunday lunch and soak up one of Southampton's most professionally managed and friendliest pubs... thanks Bella! I can't wait

Disappointed feel like the food quality is slowly dropping, good menu and has been a good standard.. but is slowly dropping, the last meal needs to be addressed, the fish pie is something you’d expect in prison and the halloumi fries ordered as a side were cut in half to a size smaller than my finger nail, not sure if they’re low on quantity but but for the price it’s a bit of a insult, Don’t let the standards drop please

We went here with our family wife is in a wheelchair. They couldn't of been more helpful and understand of her needs. Lovely staff and great service. Regulars really helpful as well

No idea what they will feed you. If they don’t have it in, they’ll serve something else up and wait for you to question what you’re eating to tell you they made up a random dish instead…. And no, this isn’t a joke, it actually happened to us. Random ‘pasta dish’ turned up instead of the mac n cheese we ordered.

A lovely pub in the heart of the community, with a relaxed atmosphere throughout the day. It's quiet in the afternoon and busier in the evening, but not too packed. Serving food for lunch, they normally have great deals on the meals, but the range is rather limited as it's a small pub. There's a wide range of drinks available at standard prices. The best place to find out what's going on is through their Facebook page. Wheelchair users might struggle with the doors, but can get inside at a push, and even though there are outside tables, they have fixed bench seating so difficult to access from a wheelchair. There is a car park around the back but it's quite small and often full, the streets outside normally have lots of vehicles parked in the evening but you'll find a space in residential streets around easily enough. They currently run a quiz on a Monday evening at £2 per person, and regularly have raffles, discos and bbqs, plus special events for holidays and festivals.

Came for roast dinner a few weekends ago. Partner ordered pork belly roast, it appeared to be a pork chop or some sort instead. The trimmings that came with it were lovely though.

Unfortunately it was an awful experience.we came here for Easter Sunday. they had ran out of starters off the set menu already the average wait time was an hour per course. When the starters arrived items were missing which appeared that it was an intentional attempt to miss out an item. The reason given was the cook forgot I could understand if only one was missed but there were multiple ordered on our table all of which were missing the item. These then took a further 15 minutes to come. When the main causes finally arrived the pork belly was overcooked and chewy the potatoes were undercooked the meal was cold the only nice thing was the stuffing and the gravy. Overall I'm genuinely disappointed with the food today and found out from the waitress who was trying her best and appeared to be the only one working. So when they opened for dinners at 12:00 they seated people who hadn't booked which caused them to get behind on service and they were never able to catch up.

Local pub serving real ale. Car park to the rear. Outside seating to the front and side. Kitchen serving good pub food and it doesn't shut at 2pm like a lot of pubs. Serving till 9pm . Sometimes has a small service break in the afternoon. Best phone to check. 😁

Meal was booked for 10 and only the day before ..it was for my nephews 18th x lovely staff could not do enough ! X 3 kids had special dishes of icecreams made up ..and the 5 pound meals were excellent ..🌈 nothing was too much trouble ..and plates and a knife provided for the cake x Thankyou ..will be coming again ! 🩷🌸

We have just had another lovely Sunday Roast at the Humble Plumb. It was a lovely atmosphere which was largely due to the bubbly and friendly staff members Bethanie and Izzy. We shall be back soon!

We have just had a fabulous roast , everything cooked well, pea and leak gratin was delicious. New chief I believe. All served by the polite and smiley Bethanie and Izzy Great value too . Will definitely be back.

Food very disappointing the steak and ale pie was very very dry

Lovely atmosphere and great staff, best steak I have had anywhere, well cooked and very reasonably priced.

We booked a table in advance but, on arrival, we were told there was no table available, as there was a question mark against the booking! However, a member of staff did go to great lengths to get us a table but, then the evening just went from bad to worse. When the meals arrived, they had only catered for 6 members of our party rather than the 7. We were told there would be a 5 minute delay for the final meal but that delay turned in to 15 minutes plus by which time the entire evening was ruined and the 7th meal never did arrive. There was a guest singer who was so loud there was no chance of any communication taking place around the table. The final bill did not reflect the awful experience we had. Therefore as much as we would want to support a local business, we will not be visiting this pub again.

Had our family Christmas meal today all 9 of us chose from the christmas menu and it was lovely the food the service everything was amazing well done to the 2 girls who were working they did an amazing job will definately go there again

Lovely pub, new ownership with lots of new changes all time, happy place!

New owners not visited since, but the rest still applys. Great pub, nice staff, nice clientele some interesting ales and good food too. A little fiddly to find if you're not familiar with area or are minus sat nav, as it is quite and off main drag some parking round back either that or on street near by but it is quiet so never had any issue with parking on the road.

Walk in and because your not a regular you are made to fill like it poor wine choice, and staff not very helpful.

Nice atmosphere. Good beer although Henry I.P.A was not for me. Didn't eat here so can't comment. Would definitely return and recommend. Bar staff where very nice and friendly. 🍻

A little quiet but it was a Monday. Great service and food.

Came here for Sunday Dinner and surprisingly this is one of the only pubs not classed as an official Carvery where you can order a roast until 9 PM! We ordered a fantastic Beef Roast Dinner & the trio of Sausages, Mash and Peas after 8 PM and there was no issue. Service from the staff was great and the pub had a great Sunday evening atmosphere! Both dishes were great and the portion size was spot on! I even squeezed space in for the speciality Humble Plumb Crumble which was a delight! This place is also dog friendly, you can even order four legged friend a doggy meal here which is quite rare for a local pub! Will definitely be coming back to try more dishes!

So much better with the new owners. I just hope that they get supported, as so far I've been very impressed. Had an amazing meal tonight and the ales were as they should be. Recommend the specials on the cuisine menu. My only criticism is the lack of guest ales (Unity ale maybe?) to mix it up a bit, but early doors.

Came in for dinner, shared a ploughman's for two of us and a side. Was a good portion, we didn't leave hungry. Just a lovely place!

The pub has new owners what an improvement greeted when we arrived nothing was too much trouble, only has a small menu choice as they are working on a new one but choices still good.

At last this great back street pub have new owners & the pub has returned to its former glory after being ruined by the last clowns but thanks must go to the young lady & her staff who kept it going while it was being sold. Food is back & the menu looks good & can only be improved with time. Plenty of tables inside & out & it has a lovely atmosphere, dogs are welcome. I’m sure I can edit this soon to promote it to 5*s

The Humble Plumb now has new management, the two idiots who run the pub into the ground have gone. First impressions on the new management are very good they have opened with a bang with four days of entertainment which has gone down very well, a new menu is coming soon and the pub is still dog friendly.

Nice beer garden, good service but pricey

Doesn't do food anymore. "Kitchen closed down indefinitely" just a drinking hole now.

The owners have put it up for sale and very few staff are on. We went for food and a few drinks and were told that there were no kitchen staff so no food. So had a couple of beers and went else where

Great atmosphere, family and dog friendly, enjoyed the Friday night meat draw.

Kim’s efforts and social interacting, to the customers, cannot be faulted. She makes us all feel welcome, and does her best to keep us coming back again. Keep it up

So disappointed with the Plumb, a complete disaster, they failed to deliver on the Christmas dinners, diners went on home with empty tummies. The starter was so late and the main course and sweets didn't even turn up !! So 1 star for that because we can't give a zero but sadly this Christmas Do was a non-starter. We'll never return !!

Came in for a Sunday roast today and the food was vile. I used to love going to the plumb so really unsure if there is a new chef or not but the potatoes were rock hard, you couldn't even cut through them. The rest of the roast dinner you couldn't even taste through the gravy, worst roast I've EVER had. I will never return and it's a real shame.

Had to find an indoor venue for my dog and self, in a hurry. The Humble Plumb came up trumps. Very dog friendly. Cosy, hot drinks, pleasant and helpful barman.

Lovely pub grub in what can be only be described as an oasis, tucked away in the middle of a housing estate. Our waitress was very welcoming too, as was the beer!

Lovely little pub the barman was super friendly too. Had a good feed-up during our lunch break. The garden in the sun is just 👌👌 so would've loved to stay for a few! Reasonably priced and food was fresh and tasty!

Loveliest pub around. 😍 I consider it my local even though I gotta walk past at least one other pub to get there. 🤣 Such a friendly happy place, feels like a country pub dropped in the middle of the town... But still plenty lively of an evening too.

Good food, great staff , good atmosphere

I've only ever eaten here at Christmas (must change that as they do a lovely menu). The food was really tasty, especially for a fussy eater like myself. The staff are always friendly and welcoming (especially Nicky with the antlers 🦌) and nothing was to much trouble.

We'd just completed on our house sale and were effectively homeless for a couple of hours. We popped in for a coffee and to get out of the rain. The pub was clean and homely, the staff were lovely, the dog was made very welcome, and we had a very nice lunch.

Very nice pub tucked away within the houses, good food,not a big menu but quality food , good staff bring approachable & helpful& best of all the most dog(behaved ones) friendly pub i know of even a dog menu. Recommend Will visit again
