This was the best Butter Chicken Curry I had ever had at House Bar and Restaurant would definitely recommend the new menu and Christina and Bonnie did excellent service!!!

First and last time I will step foot in this dump ! All staff are under the influence of drugs the door staff are abusive to women and threaten to punch them for no reason and the manager tries to sell you drugs absolutely disgusting. Complaint raised and totally ignored by them!

Another great experience at House Restaurant in Goose Green Altrincham. A really warm welcome from Pete, the Manager and amazing table service provided by Emily. She guided knowledgeably through the menu and ensured we were wanting for Nothing. A great personify and very professional without being overbearing. Adam, the Chef provided us with the most amazing food of the highest quality....wow. A fantastic evening all round. We will definitely be calling again.

I haven't eaten in here for probably 10 years & I wondered if it would be as good as I remembered. Really warm welcome, very cosy restaurant, smart decor. I love that you can glimpse the chef at work. We were served by Emily who was very attentive, nothing too much trouble. Great espresso martini! We enjoyed 3 courses - steak cooked to perfection. We weren't rushed at all - it was so relaxed but really excellent food & service. Looking forward to trying the Sunday lunch on our next visit. Booking recommended - all the tables were full with reservations.

I organised our works Christmas do at House Bar & Kitchen. From the first contact I made with them right through to the end of our evening the staff were amazing. I had great communication before hand and then on the evening our waitress was very attentive. The staff made sure we had everything we needed. The food was great and the flexitarian menu worked really well to suit all of our groups food requirements. The mixture of having a private restaurant a bar area with live music coupled with the pool tables and vintage arcade games upstairs meant that there was something for everyone to enjoy. I will certainly be coming again and highly recommend this place for small group bookings. Thanks again for a great evening.

The friendliest staff I've experienced in ages, great food and drinks with good offers. Lovely outdoor seating area, undercover with heat lamps - at the moment when we can't meet friends or family indoors, this is likely to be our go to place! Very Covid compliant inside as well, clean and well organised.

My friend and I have been here twice in the space of 2 weeks, hoping that the second time would be normal and good service and that the first was a blip. The service has been terrible. It wasn’t busy and we still waited over an hour and a half for our food. (Pizza and chips not exactly difficult) Really disappointed and the staff didn’t seem to care that we’d been waiting for so long. This place used to be great!

Staff were friendly and served well, however, after paying £18.50 for a bottle of house rose, we were shocked and disappointed to receive a Sainsbury's own brand bottle costing £4.50. This seems ridiculous - if I am paying that much I expect better quality, not just the cheapest bottle they could find across the road at the shop.

Dropped in early on a thursday evening, had steak with garlic fries that was cooked to perfection and a butterscotch tart that you could tell was homemade and beautiful, nice cosy atmosphere and great service

Visited on the 5th Dec at 7pm with a friend. We had a lovely evening. The Fish cake starters were the star of the show. House wine great and all in all good value for money. The staff were lovely very attentive and looked after us so well.

Just visited The House Our table was booked for 8pm the girl who came to take our drinks order had to offer us at least 4 different alternatives as they had no Guinness no gin only a few flavoured ones no beers on draught very few bottled beers , then we ordered food our starters still hadn’t arrived after 45mins we queried it as the table next to ours had got theirs and they came in after us !! Only to be told the girl who took our food order had forgot to put it through to the kitchen oops !! We decided not to stay as we also noticed two tables returned food > went across the green for a lovely curry instead . Sorry as “ we are launching our new bar upstairs “ didn’t cut it !! Hope they had more luck than us for drinks.

We visited the restaurant on Friday 04th Oct as a party of 5. The staff were very attentive as we were very well looked after. I hardly ever leave reviews but the staff made our evening.

Up in Altrincham the night before the Test Match we found this place while wandering round trying to find a place to eat. We walked into the bar and a very friendly guy got us a menu from the restaurant (entrances for customers are though separate doors from the street). We were a party of three and we each had a different cut of steak and they were all excellent, and I do mean excellent. Service was quick and very friendly. Prices were pretty reasonable too. We'll definitely go there again when we stay up there in future.

Me and my partner have been here a couple of times and every visit we are always pleased with our meal. The food is delicious, the staff are always so helpful, polite and serve you quickly. Gorgeous inside and especially in the summer the outdoor area is fab to have a drink in. Right in centre of Altrincham too.

A large group attended House for an early dinner.Service was very good considering the number of us and nobody had any issues with the food or drink.I had fishcakes for starter, it wasn't anything special and maybe could've had a bit more fish and left the fish chunky rather than mashed but it tasted ok.For my main I had ox-cheek risotto which was excellent. Nice soft chunks of meat that melted in my mouth. Rice cooked spot on.Overall a great dish.They really should get their own website.

Popped in for a pint early evening. Fancied a quick bite. Fiorentina pizza was very tasty, crispy and served with a smile. Always a good place to sit in the sun too.

What is the point of having a menu if most of the things listed on it are unavailable.

Food was lovely. Great portions, steak and sweet potatoes fries were delicious. We shared a humous which was delicious and enormous. What was disappointing,we ordered drinks from the waitress,we asked about Prosecco but it was £26 ,So we ordered a glass. when we came to re-order drinks we had a young lad, he said Prosecco was on offer £18. Not sure why the previous girl didn’t mention this. Also the bill came and they’d added 2 side orders of chips on when they were included in the meal. This has happened here loads of times to us, but the food and the staff are lovely but always check your bill!

We haven't visited the House for a while and really was so disappointed by the new menu. Very little gluten free options. Staff were not interested in one problem we had with the food. Would avoid now unless it's only to have a drink.

A nice, cosy venue with friendly efficient staff. However the food was not seasoned and tasted quite bland, with every dish needing a touch of salt.

We had the falafel, it was very nice, home cooked rosemary chips were good. Nice house salad. We were eating vegan and unfortunately there was only one vegan option.

We were looked after extremely well. We wanted to decorate the table with balloons and table confetti and we were allowed to do this in advance on the day. Food was lovely and the staff were welcoming and attentive.

I visited on thuraday for my 40th birthday and on arrival we were met by a really friendly waitress. We were seated in a booth and were bought over a glass of fizz each as they knew it was birthday!! Such a lovely touch.

We went with a Groupon voucher and were pleasantly surprised The food was lovely and the service really attentive, though it was Saturday night and the place was extremely busy Nice atmosphere and their king scallops and lamb tagine were to die for!!!

My friend and I really appreciated the warmth and friendliness of staff who made us feel so welcome. The food was very tasty particularly the fish cake starter and the ambience (a bustling Thursday evening) was lively but not overpowering. Would recommend for food and atmosphere but most of all for the service.

Lovely meal with friends over from NZ, so great to have a corner table where we could natter away and not have too much traffic going past the table. Varied menu with lots to choose from - very generous helpings. Staff were helpful and cheerful, and dishes arrived quickly. Recommend the fish cakes and salad - very tasty.

Visted with friends recently and had a most enjoyable evening. Staff were friendly and efficient.Some slghtly unusual items on the menu and, as each of us had something different, and enjoyed all, I guess the Chef's choices paid off.

It was good to be back at The House. Starter of Cod and Salmon fishcakes was lovely and refreshing in the sunshine with a glass of dry white. Rump of lamb (minus rice) was beautifully tender. Nice merlot to go with it but please serve Rioja by the glass! Dessert to die for with a lovely moscatel and a pleasant coffee to finish with. Waiters and waitress superb and really helpful. Had to ask for spoon for mint sauce but apart from that, a lovely meal!

Had an enjoyable evening here recently.Comfortable surroundings, friendly efficient service and good food-all made for a pleasant evening out.The starter and main courses were very tasty and the dessert (lemon meringue pie) was delicious and a perfect end to the meal.

The outside has been made lovey, but they need to do something about the Ladies toilets, broken toilet seat, broken lock, no toilet paper, the seat is dangerous, will not be going back

Booked a table for a celebration meal. Went for the early dinner menu. The restaurant is small and quient. The choice on the menu was pleasent surprise for a early dinner the choice was good. The service and quality of food were second to none. A very enjoyable meal was had by all . Will be returning again.

Took the family here with my visiting sister who lives in London & is used to going to top restaurants in the capitol.

As very local Altrincham residents we ask ourselves why it has taken so long to visit House.

Was impressed with the great flavours and the light meal we had! The lobster pasta was fabulous, the scallop starter was just as flavoursome! Would definitely go there again

And House is one of them. A great setting in a busy little square, very attractive area. Bistro, shabby chic style, comfortable & warm. Quite a busy night, had a short wait for menus & to take drinks order. The comp bread basket was a homemade brown, delicious. The starter of Artichoke & Parmesan soup was hot & full of flavour. I had the goats cheese starter very tasty although a little small. However this was good as my main of a fantastic King Prawn linguine & pesto was large & superb. Jan said the Lamb Rump was even better than her high expectations Buttered shredded cabbage as a side was scrumptious. A great Grouponer. Overall good value for money. The three waitress's we saw were a shining example to the restaurant. Only thing I don't like & it's a personal thing is butter in foil. Highly recommended.

The best way to describe The House is to say that nothing is too much of a trouble for everyone working there to make their customers feel great.

Started off well with the very tasty complimentary bread and the starter of Truffle Arancini which, although good, had no truffle taste at all. My main was Seafood Risotto which was stodgy and tasteless. My wife had the Fondue for a starter and was very good. However, her main of King Prawns in pesto was said to be bland and, like mine, was only half eaten.

It was a quick visit, but we were not disappointed. A comfortable restaurant in a good central Altrincham location. We had Lamb Burger both served with Garlic Fries, all very good.

Lovely place to celebrate, 6 of us went for dinner on Christmas Eve we had drinks in the bar first then went through to the restaurant to eat. We had starters, steaks, desserts and a couple of bottles of Prosecco, then liquor coffees. The atmosphere was fab, and the Staff were very friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend this place. Prices were average for Altrincham. £30 depending on how much you drink.

I was with friends and we had a great meal followed with live music in the bar next door. Great atmosphere and the staff were brilliant. One of the best New Years bash in a while. We bought access bands for the green rooms next door so we could hop between the two. Brilliant service, food and staff. Well done.

We LOVE the House and have been coming for years and years, particularly for the steaks which are delicious. The desserts are also out of this world! However, I felt compelled to write a review because of our poor experience at the weekend. Our table for 2 was placed next to a group of rowdy women who were a little tipsy. Whilst I don't mind this sort of noise if I'm out with friends, it in no way made for an enjoyable meal for two - we couldn't hear ourselves talking. We did ask to be moved but another couple before us had already been moved for the same reason and there was no space. The booth next to us were also finding the group irritating. I wouldn't normally write a negative review, but this isn't the first time this has happened - it's the third time - so on this occasion we gave our apologies and didn't stay for the meal and went elsewhere. This is such a shame for us as we love the restaurant and we could see the owners were gutted we had decided to leave, but the solution to us seems obvious - you have one side of the restaurant for couples and the other for groups. One other thing, the new menus are boring, what happened to the lovely leather look book type menus that are so characteristic of the restaurant?

Took my little 12 year old for a brownie and ice cream....served by the wonderful Matt and Hannah. A very enjoyable 30 minutes in my day.

We turned up without a booking and the waiter squeezed us in. The food we had was very tasty, including spicy pumpkin soup, chicken butter curry and a warm chocolate brownie. The place had a good feel about it, with a lively bar right next door. I will definitely go back again

I have reviewed House before. I and my parents came here and my dad and I had Chorizo and my mum had the smoked duck. These were starters for us and for mains we had Steak, Lamb Meatballs. As sides we had potatoes, honey carrots and for pudding I had Banoffee pie. What was good was that the pie wasn't overly sweet. Food wise my one criticism would be there was no Eton Mess. I was disappointed, as I was looking forward to having their lovely Eton Mess.

We went as two families for an evening meal. The decor is much improved since I went over 18 months before. It was busy there but service was good. The food was fairly good before but has got better. Nice surprise. Price was also fairly reasonable. All in all a very nice evening out and look forward to go back again sooner.

We visited this restaurant in the courtyard square area of Goose Green in Altrincham and had a mixed dining experience...The night out was to catch up with a few friends, and as the majority live in Sale/Altrincham a friend booked House...The decor has a rustic feel, with a lot of wood, and offers a pleasant homely feel... plus the atmosphere is quite vibrant...Staff are friendly and polite, but we found the service a bit average on the whole...As for the food, the five of us had mains & desserts... a duck dish, fish dish, and three steaks... then desserts of cheese boards, lemon meringues, and bakewell tart...The food overrall was ok, but nothing special and the person who ate the fish thought it could have been cooked better... it looked like it had been cooked in a water bath as it was a bit soggy and no crispy skin... The cheeseboard was also a bit of a disappointment with just two small pieces of cheese... plus a couple of other minor niggles made the food/drink appear more average than wow...We also had a bottle of red and bottle of white between us, plus a spirit or coffee each at the end... our bill came to just under £250... This restaurant could be so much more with a few tweeks here and there, but at present is a little lacking in a few areas...We had a great night catching up, but the food side was a little disappointing... i doubt we will go back in the near future as there are so many other restaurants to try...

This restaurant/wine bar is off the beaten track but is in a lovely courtyard that is a sun trap and you can sit outside with your win and catch the rays. The food is great, quite large portions for the price and the service is always fab. Personally I love the off shaped wooden tables - rustic is the word I'm looking for.

Looking over the goose green court yard area this restaurant has a covered outside seating area. Lovely food, they offer a bar/tapas menu as well as a restaurant menu. Staff are friendly and helpful. Would definitely eat here again.

Well what can I say, this place is AM AY ZING. Hannah’s quick service in providing mayonnaise and ketchup is probably the best in the world. Matt 1 and Matt 2 make House a home and the music choice is exceptional! Highly recommend!
