Harry’s Temperance Bar in Trafford

Bought a Groupon to treat my mum to afternoon tea. Booked via the link and was really looking forward to it.Arrived at the venue to find shutters closed and obviously not open.Checked in a nearby shop to make sure I had the right place and was informed we are not the first people to arrive for afternoon tea?Why are you selling this on Groupon and allowing people to book???Absolute waste of time!!!

I've just done a 14 mile round trip with a Groupon voucher for afternoon tea. When we got there the shutters were down and a taxi office in it's place. Groupon never let me know so I've just requested a refund.

We were big fans of the old Harry’s before it moved locations. We have only just got around to going to the new venue since it moved and we had such high hopes from our previous visits, and it’s like a completely different team and standard of both service and product. Terrible atmosphere, young grumpy and rude staff. Average milkshakes. We waited ages to find a menu, and upon a member of staff pointing us towards them, it would’ve been a perfect opportunity to tell me that most of the ice cream flavours weren’t available. It’s not ideal to have your child pick their flavour and then be told that this flavour and similar ones were unavailable. We came to celebrate our child completing their first week of school, and won’t be coming again. Such a shame, as in theory it’s the perfect idea for a special occasion after-school treat. Once the order came it wasn’t what we asked for, and the ice cream was bland. Nothing special like we’ve had in the past. No protective measures in place, no gloves, masks, or screens of any kind. What a shame, I hope the management take on-board our feedback as I want the place to do well and then we could come back. Loved the old place and the people who ran it, had many a really lovely visit back then.

We have had afternoon tea in many places all over the UK and Harry's Diner is high on that list. Greeting, Decor, Service, Presentation and quality of food all excellent

We had an afternoon tea for my friend's birthday - you get selection of finger sandwiches, lovely scones with cream and strawberry jam ( my friend absolutely loved this ) and freshly baked cakes with your choice of tea, coffee or their speciality drinks My favourite of the day was brie with cranberry sandwich and the walnut cake - fresh and delicious Service was very attentive and you can bring your dog and sit outside too

Nice food, very fresh, homemade coleslaw, lots tasty loose leaf tea, icecream sundae to finish. Very friendly staff.

My self and my family went to Harry’s temperance bar on Sunday for afternoon tea it was lovely the staff looked after us and they was polite will be back thank you.

Been in a number of times now, Lots of choice and the milkshakes and waffles etc are amazing! Took my daughter and her friends for her birthday recently and they loved it! Highly recommend this place!

Took my grandaughter here today after school & it was brilliant. The menu was imaginative & varied & the food when delivered was well presented & absolutely delicious. She had the Oreo bubble waffle & vanilla milkshake. The waffle was huge wth plenty of toppings : Oreo ice cream, fresh cream, crumbled Oreo biscuits, chocolate sauce, Oreo biscuits - all on top of a warm freshy-made bubble waffle. The vanilla milkshake was smooth & creamy.The staff there were really friendly & helpful & the service was excellent.They don't just serve sweets though, they have a great savoury menu that's really reasonably priced with generous servings & all freshly made on the premises. They also have a good selection of leaf teas and coffees.We will definitely return very soon & I will be telling all my friends & family about this great find in a little corner in Victoria Parade in Urmston.

Took my 3 young grandchildren for pancakes today. They loved them! Service was excellent and friendly. I will return to sample their menu.

This is now Harry's at 12 Victoria Parade Urmston. Had booked on but didn't realise they'd moved but got a phone call in the morning to let me know.Had afternoon tea through Groupon offer with my sister. Lovely welcome, nice atmosphere mainly families and really nice afternoon tea. Fresh sandwiches and scones. Think small cakes were from Costco but still lovely.. Final dessert was ice cream and meringue - really nice light finish.Looked at menu and lots on offer to suit all appetites and occasions.Will definitely return!

1/2 term treat My kids love bubble waffles and milkshakes! Perfect Had a lovely gourmet green mojitea All Served lovely just needed a better Teapot! Great little find

Now situated at Victoria parade urmston we popped in for santa pancakes which daughter enjoyed,staff friendly, will come again

Lovely waffle but Oreo milkshake just tasted like milk with cream and a sprinkling of Oreo on the top but there is absolutely no atmosphere, they seriously need to play music otherwise it’s quite depressing. Shame as the bar and decor is fab!

Just want to start by saying, where he's Harry's bar been and why am I only just finding it?? Had the most amazing afternoon tea after buying a deal on Groupon. Well it didn't disappoint at all. The sandwiches were huge and the cakes were dinky but so enough. The tea was also scummy!! Tea pot was ace.If you ever have the chance to go, then please do. You will not be left feeling hungry

The ice cream is delicious and the service is always friendly, what more is needed? The flavours are interesting and change often.

Had a lovely time at harrys staff were friendly and they were chatty which was nice. Milkshakes was lovely and how they make tea was amazing. Toasties was nice but would like plain brown bread instead off brown seeded bread. When finished my youngest daughter had an icecream and said it was lovely. Can't wait to go again

What a lovely experience and the milkshakes and ice creams were delicious, worth every penny.

Looks lovely on the inside, giving an old-fashioned type of look and the same on the outside which is fabulous to sit on a sunny day. I’ve only ever had a few of the Freak Shakes from there which look like no other - absolutely remarkable. However, they aren’t as delicious as what you pay for, but if you don’t mind spending quite a bit of money then it’s perfect. I do love it, just wish the Freak Shakes weren’t so overpriced.

Stopped for a cold drink on a very hot day. Had a lovely rhubarb & rose sparkling cordial which was very refreshing. Sat outside. Quiet but pleasant. Jennie the waitress was very courteous & helpful.

First impressions last.. that's what they say..

Ordered cake, toastie and coffee. Short staffed and took over an hour to get food. Coffee was tepid. Prices reasonable and armosphere good otherwise.

Went in here in the summer holidays with my little boy, 2 nieces & my parents. The girls each had a freak shake & we all had coffees & teacakes. It was all really lovely, hot coffee & the freak shakes are huge, the girls couldn't finish their doughnuts so the waitress kindly gave them a box each to take them away for later. They have a selection of board games for entertainment so you could spend all afternoon here, next on my list is one of the themed afternoon teas! They also do a non alcoholic G&T; so great if youre driving. Definitely worth a visit whether your alone or with family & friends.

Visited with my two little kids, nice menu, loads of choice with drinks, ice creams and desserts. Reasonably priced. Cool setting. Friendly staff. All in all, brilliant :)
