Fabulous pub with lovely staff who really go above and beyond food was stunning and very reasonable priced hubby enjoyed the pint

I was very impressed and that sometimes takes a lot! The staff were lovely and welcoming, the service was pretty quick and efficient and the food was absolutely amazing for the price! Loved it, loved the old pub style atmosphere too, the music was my era and not too loud. Fantastic place all round and we will be back! If it was nearer to us, this would be our local!

I attended the quiz tonight for the first time in a while and I must say I had such an amazing time!! I haven’t been able to get out the house much recently but I felt safe and comfortable in the pub. The staff were friendly and the lovely girl who hosted the quiz was clear and approachable (long black hair). She also made me feel comfortable at the bar and I am excited about returning. Thank you Horsforth Hotel.

Known to locals as ‘the friendly’ for good reason. Great little local with attentive staff and good reasonably priced food. Excellent beer garden at the back. This was the first pub I went to when I moved to Leeds 30 years ago and I still regularly make the trip back to The Horsforth even though I’ve moved to another part of the city. Not found a better ‘local’ or more friendly bunch of regulars. Recommended.

Have been a few times here, normally because of the good value for money. This time however, Sunday, we had to wait 1 hour for food, although to be fair, the lady did advise 45mins to an hour wait but, we only ordered 2 turkey dinners(standard for a Sunday) a lasagne and a hunters chicken, nothing out of the ordinary, and from what i could see, it wasnt that busy for people eating, so not sure why an hour to wait. The lasagne was clearly over cooked, burnt and hard around the edges and a little hard in places throughout the layers itself so this was disappointing. The hunters chicken was ok but the bacon on it again over cooked, so both these items had been in the oven too long. The Turkey dinners were ok but were advised at the start there were no Carrots left (odd, being a Sunday and ripe for Sunday dinners) you would have thought something so simple would not run out. Also, we were advised they would give extra on the plate instead, however, i couldnt see anything that was extra to be honest. When my daughter had ordered the pudding (this was nice by the way), she was handed an actual Dirty spoon, food still on it from previous use!!!..This should NEVER happen and should have been picked up prior to handing over. All in all, todays visit not the best, especially when your sat next to a rather lets say very roudy set of people who were not eating but just drinking, could hardly hear ourselves talk, especially the cackling woman whos laugh is very piercing (the same lady who has sat here before when we have been, clearly regular) this in itself isnt an issue, just a little off putting when trying to eat your dinner…especially after waiting an hour and the dinner not at its best. The issues (regarding the food/spoon) were brought to the attention of the staff, who naturally apologised as you would expect. Whilst disappointing we will go again. Please note, i have given 3 stars for service but not for poor service of the staff as such, just the overall service experience we had.

The staff were brilliant and the pub was nicely laid out with decent amenities however the food was terrible.

I've been going in here on and off 32 years. Today I took some friends from Sheffield for lunch telling them it is a great place. It was quite busy but not too full. We waited one hour and 10 minutes for the food. 2 steak pies and a burger. Hardly complicated. It was only acceptable. The burger was overcooked with 2 onion rings and a few chips. The pies were ok. That's all. On a Bank Holiday Saturday lunchtime why are you telling customers you've got no staff? And making people wait so long for microwaved meals?? We were sat next to a group of mature customers who were swearing, shouting and cackling like old hags. We could barely hold a conversation. It really has gone downhill in my opinion. My friends were unimpressed. We won't ever be back.

Got diverted here during a Race for life and pleased we did. A buzzing atmosphere, good basic pub grub and swift, efficient service. The staff were very friendly and helped with directions through the diversion. Definitely recommend

It is a child friendly, pet friendly pub. it’s great to bring your friends and have a catch up or to enjoy the live music they provide at the weekend. great service! and the landlady always makes sure her team are working there best to make everyone happy. definitely recommend!!!

Came in to kids running all over the place landlady's kid sat on bar with her husband looking after his boy. Feamale bar maide only able to serve ho ever was direcktly in front of her no idea ov how other people had been waiting longer .yes I get it its a family friendly pub .but hey look after your kids while ther . Most of the children running round were sat with the new landlady. Ther was mess all over the floor and wher people walk she was sat with a good 8 other people and adults between wher you come in and the male toilets . What did it for me was when I got off a barstool that had been provided at the bar to sit on which I did but when got off to go to the men's I just mist an poss 0ne year old crawling on the floor at the back of my bar stool .no body seemed to be aware of this child .wat would have happend if I had stood on this child's head not mowing I way approx 14 stone .that child could have been seriously hurt .sorry but this needs to stop before a child gets hurt serusly by accident. This was just after 7pm .why are such young children sat on the bar an crawling on the floor around the bar at this time aswell and coming from the new landlady's table .wow.not imprest attall..kind regards but rather purtuberd Mr. Wood.

We came here Saturday the 30th March had something to eat table opposite us full of kids baby sat on the bar weirdo trying to push kids prams out off the door when table opposite left they left a right mess 7 / 30/ pm member of Staff came looked at it and just walked away and left the mess there use to love coming here but think we be going elsewhere its not manages as good as it was before

A family friendly local pub. Spacious interior with big screens, cheap prices, music not too loud and good real ales. Known locally as “The Friendly”.

A group of friends visited the Horsforth Hotel, we had pre ordered our meals. A warm welcome was given to us on arrival. Food served freshly prepared, after a very short wait. Meals were delicious and served by friendly and efficient staff. Very happy all round and will definitely call again. Well done, as we frequently preorder meals which have obviously been cooked prior to our arrival and simply left and kept warm, this wasn’t the case at the Horsforth.

There was 15 of us all came to horsforth hotel today for lunch. We had more ordered and phoned when we were 10 minutes away. No sooner had we all sat down and they started serving our meals. They all came out on hot plates all the meals were very good. We had excellent customer service and we will definitely be back.

Visited with a walking group for lunch. We had the gammon & eggs. Excellent food, well cooked & very tasty. Staff were very friendly & efficient, serving 13 of us very quickly. Excellent value for money too. Would certainly recommend.

Fantastic local pub, we meet up every 2 weeks with family. Usually about 15 of us, adults and children. We have a member of our family in a wheelchair, access and toilet facilities are fantastic. Food is always on point and plenty to choose from. Including the puddings 🙄 Staff are welcoming and friendly. The Horsforth Hotel has become our family local. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

I come all the time with family and friends and really enjoy myself. However, there has now been 2 occasions I have brought my lovely clients for some lunch as I am a career and the staff could have not been greater. They were so lovely, Joshua was amazing with a lady I brought it, very chatty made her feel welcome. He was great. Another time it was Jackie. Jackie was very busy but never stopped being so lovely to the point where my client tipped her. Can’t thank them enough. The fact they made these vulnerable clients feel so welcome put a smile on both our faces! Absolutely amazing the both of them :)

We went yesterday as a group of four, for Sunday lunch as before excellent value. I had booked a table but this was not reserved for us I did ask for a specific table but the manager said he had not noticed my message. We did get a table but would have preferred the one we asked for. Food arrived before we had any cutlery so had to wait for our cutlery while our food was getting cold. The knives and forks should be out first ALWAYS. Food needed to be hotter. Two side orders were not delivered we had to go to the bar to ask for these and were also cold when they came to the table. Our small problems were sorted out amicably but should not have happened in the first place. Love the pub, food is plentiful but service needs to be improved. Will be back and hopefully these little niggles will be sorted out.

Pretty dismal. Went for the special. Had to keep choosing different food. They were out of roast beef, changed to fish and chips, out of that too. Grandson wanted a meal with corn on the cob, out of that too. There were 5 of us, none of us got what we wanted! I was an overseas visitor. I've returned to my own country now.

We had the most amazing time, my husband and I only came in for dinner which was so delicious! We did stay all evening and that wa down to the staff, they were all so friendly and helpful especially the young lady Alex! She couldn’t do enough for us. We will for sure be returning and making sure we bring friends.

Held our work celebration at The Horsforth and had a great time. Plenty of space, pool table and dart board, sport on TV, really good selection of drinks and food, and very friendly staff.

I love this pub We had the festive menu, with our daughter son in-law and our little grandson Table was decorated with Christmas crackers, it was lovely The staff are absolutely amazing, friendly and very Attentive Myself and my daughter ordered Mozzarella sticks (they were the best I have ever had) Hubby had prawn cocktail filled with juicy prawns Son in-law had Chicken strips and Grayson had nuggets Everyone enjoyed the starters We all chose the burgers and again was cooked to perfection and the burger was top quality Could not fault anything Well done to all the staff for making our visit memorable 🤩X

We visited a few weeks ago and really enjoyed the food and the service. We enjoyed it so much so we decided to call again. Sadly on this they weren't up to the standard we had come to expect. We arrived shortly after the pub opened and we were the first to order food. As we were ordering food a group of people came into the pub and we're seated. We waited for 80 minutes before our food was served. The group who arrived after us had all eaten and left the pub before our food arrived. Nobody informed us of a delay serving food and nobody appologised when the food was eventually brought to us. Some of the cutlery came dirty and we had to ask them to replace it. We left very disappointed. Hopefully this is just a blip because it would be such a shame for this pub to lose its popularity. ‐‐-------------------- Edit: Downgraded my stars after a poor response. Trying to justify why the service was so bad by blaming auditors and one thing or another really isn't good enough. The points we made on the day were not adequate either which is why I responded here. What I didn't mention on the day was the people sat next to us were very dissatisfied too and they were speaking to us about their unpleasant service. If you look through my previous reviews of different places you will see I am always fair with my reviews. All you needed to do to resolve this was to apologise and say sorry, we got it wrong but instead you make excuses in a patronising way.

Well done Alex with help from Luke a brilliants nights entertainment. Boozy Bingo was a roaring success and such a laugh. There might not have been massive prizes but what there was were great fun and everybody had a great time. If this was the start of Christmas at The Horsforth then bring it on. WELL DONE!!

Outstanding pre-match pub , were a group of Hereford Awaydays fans who travel all over the UK watching our team play , and this pub yesterday stood out a mile , it was warm on a freezing cold day , extremely friendly staff and locals...

Came In to watch the Footy over the weekend and was a great experience. Lively pub and nice seating areas to watch the TVs. I got a Cumberland Sausage at half time and it was fab. Will be coming in again and recommending people to join me.

Amazing little local. We mostly visit on a lunchtime (12pm-ish) in a group of ~8 and food is always quick to come and very tasty. Staff always pleasant, lots of space to sit and ample parking, although I can imagine it’ll be hard to find a spot at peak times. Plenty of free road parking nearby.

Disappointed! I was told that my other half on a previous visit a week ago they had a lovey meal but on this occasion it was on the poor side! Staff where not on the job as more interested on running the bingo! They brought out the wrong meal and missed a starter, I had the all day breakfast which included toast but no butter or marg offered and no choice of bread even though it started on the menu there was a choice, very little beans and only half a small tomato which was early fried and still very hard. I would definitely avoid whilst the bingo is on! Oh and don't get me started on the price of a pint of lemonade of £3.55!

Second time I have reviewed this place. This time absolutely disgusted. Waiting for friends to arrive I went to the toilet. I could be extremely descriptive here but I will just say they were both unusable. One was like a bomb site. Other no flush, no paper, no lock, door didn't even shut. Staff not interested and giggled as we left without spending any money. Awful experience. You can see their reply below which must be false as they would need to change the door and put a lock on it. The toilet holder was broken too. I stand by my review.
