Will not visit again. Rude staff who argued what we ordered was correct when it was not. One meal sent back as incorrect and our other friends were nearly finished byte time replacement meal arrived. The rude waiter dropped glasses that smashed right near our table. It was like faulty towers. The food was just about warm, nothing special but the best thing- contacted the restaurant twice with my concerns and not even an acknowledgement or anything. Hard earned cash will be spent elsewhere.

We hadn't booked anywhere and called in here on the off chance. Staff were friendly and service was very good. We were in a group and made the mistake, which was unhelpful on our part, or ordering separately. When the staff noted this after the starters they arranged for our mains to arrive simultaneously which was great. Food quality was excellent, and there was a nice varied range on offer. Most of our group had beer or cider- non-alcoholic was available for those driving. I had cocktails, menu had plenty to chose from but a couple of them were maybe a little on the weak side. Maybe I'm just too used to home measures?! We sat in the garden afterwards for drinks and it was most pleasant.

We went to the horseshoes for Sunday lunch myself my husband and 2 children the place is outstanding the food and the service especially lisa and becci was unbelievable they couldn't do enough for us. The food was delicious and the toilets were spotless.definately be returning.5 stars all the way. Staff were great.

I visited with friends a a Sunday lunchtime. They have their normal menu, or a separate Sunday lunch offering, £16.95 for 1 course, £20.95 for 2 courses & £24.95 for 3 courses. We opted for the Sunday roast. I had the chicken, it arrived on a bed of mash, 1 roast potato, cauliflower, cabbage & broccoli. My plate only had 1 carrot! There was also a large Yorkshire pudding. It would have been nicer if they brought the vegetables in a separate bowl. The food was tasty enough, warm but not as hot as I thought it would have been. The waiting staff were friendly, checked if we wanted sauces etc. We all opted for desert, they got one of them wrong, but it wasn’t a big deal. The only negative was after we had our deserts we seemed to be forgotten about. We had to find someone to bring the bill over, & again when we were ready to pay there was no one in sight. Overall, good value for money, worth a visit if you fancy a Sunday lunch in a nice setting.

Sunday lunch prices over the top and not the best food warm not hot carrots not cooked broc and cauliflower watery roast like left overs gravy no taste and thin .beef cold and tasteless and tuff not impressed at all .service long wait but lovely pub and decor won't be going again.pork tomahawk disappointing too 😑 presentation is good but shame bout the food .

The staff were lovely & helpful. I was very disappointed in the pork schnitzel main course unfortunately. It was greasy and quite tough. I ate it because I was hungry!! The chips were soggy & overcooked too. There was no garnish or veg to add colour to the beige dinner. My partner had fish & chips - again with the unappealing chips. The mushy peas barely covered the bottom of the small pan they were served in. We were a chatty group & the staff were busy otherwise I would have talked to them directly. For the price, I would be very reluctant to return anytime soon as we have an excellent gastropub on our doorstep serving much better meals at the same price. It’s a shame, as it’s an attractive venue with nice outdoor space in the summer.

This wonderful, modern and chic restaurant is a great place to go and enjoy a lovely relaxing evening with family and friends , while enjoying some delicious food. This was our first visit with our Godsons and family. My wife and I travel up to Shrewsbury once or twice a year so always looking for a new eatery serving excellent food and good range of wine and beers. The Horseshoe offers it all. We were welcomed to our table by Becci the manager. Such a lovely greeting you’d think we were regulars. Immediately felt as ease and comfortable. Jess came over to take our order for drinks. Very friendly and chatty team member . Those drinks were with us to enjoy within a short time, delivered with a smile by Emelia. Throughout the meal Lisa and Rich came over to make sure we were good for drinks and the meal was all good. Overall the evening was lovely. Great ambiance, and excellent selection of both food and drinks, all served by a great friendly and happy team led by Becci the manager. We shall certainly return on our next visit. Really worth a drive out. plenty of parking on site too 👍 Thanks to all at Horseshoe pub and bar for a great night.

Booked for birthday meal, upon arrive was given a choice of tables we would prefer. No rush to order & complementary drink for party members birthday. Food and service was first class and would highly recommend. Only negative for a remote pub & being a chain, I was disappointed that the alcohol free drinks choices were a lager or cider. I know this is personal taste, I don’t like the choices. However a Gin or wine on the list would be a good addition.

I attended last night for a birthday meal with my family , we were greeted and seated by the most friendly and welcoming lady named Lisa , I had mentioned that it was my daughters birthday on booking and she had put balloons and a banner up which was such a nice touch making her celebration evening even more special , Lisa went over and above to make sure everything was perfect from cocktails to the food which was excellent! Compliments to the chef ! I just wanted to thank Lisa for all her hard work and all that she did to make my daughters birthday a special one ! We will definitely be returning with service and food as good as this in a really beautiful restaurant. Can you please pass on our thanks to Lisa as there is very little in the way of good customer service these days and she was excellent, kind friendly and welcoming. Kindest regards mr &mrs Carroll

Called in for lunch. Clear that an enormous amount of money has been spent on refurbishing this restaurant and it looks very good. Sat in one of the dramatic looking circular seating areas, looks good but unfortunately so uncomfortable. Very big menu and also a lunch menu. Service was outstanding, our server Emma was informative, friendly and professional. Unfortunately there was no draft beer available. Drinks and food orders taken quickly, and delivered in an appropriate time. Extremely good sized portions for both meals and nicely presented. Can honestly say my beefburger was one of the best i have ever had. Appropriate check back and 2nd drinks ordered. A pleasant enough lunch

11 adults and 2 children came for a special Sunday lunch and had a wonderful time. Becci Kidd and Lisa, and the other lovely staff were more than patient with us and looked after us like royalty. The food was amazing, surprising for something sooooo very affordable. It was a lovely atmosphere in such nice and attractive surroundings. I'm certain that we will be back again.

Visited on a Friday lunchtime after a trip to nearby Attingham Park. The pub is lovely, clean and very welcoming and the bar is dog friendly too. As we had our dog with us we ate in the bar. Dan couldn't have looked after us after any better during our visit. He brought the menus to the table, took our drinks and then later our food orders and even made sure our dog had some water. The food was delicious and in our opinion very reasonably priced. I can highly recommend the yakitori skewers! We loved it and are already planning a return visit!

We visited here with family on Easter Monday including our 2 dogs. Nothing was too much trouble for the attentive staff (thanks also to Dan who meaningfully checked everything was to our liking). Decor was fresh and the atmosphere cosy. Toilet facilities were clean and well presented. Food was tasty and the menu boasted both usual as well as unusual dishes so quite good fun. Well worth a visit and we will definitely do so again

We had our Sunday Lunch for a family group of 18 in the conservatory today. Having been to the Horshoes just after it opened when the service was a bit slow, what a transformation today, first class service with all meals arriving together. There is an excellent atmosphere and for a party of up to 20 diners the conservatory is perfect. The lunches were perfectly cooked (no soggy vegetables) and well presented. The staff were smartly dressed, friendly and efficient credit to all especially Becci, Sarah and Shane. We will certainly be visiting the Horseshoes again, recommended. There is ample parking adjacent to the entrance and easy access for wheelchair users. My only small negative comment is if you are booking for a large party the meal requirements booking document I found difficult to use so did my own, the member of staff I spoke to was aware of this and said that people used many alternative ways of communicating.

Booked for a colleague's leaving lunch. Organisation good beforehand when booking and on the day we enjoyed a really good lunch with excellent service from Emma and Lisa. We were on a tight deadline due to work and as we had pre-ordered the food arrived promptly. Lovely touch of giving the colleague who was leaving a glass of fizz and a card. Food was great. Would thoroughly recommend and will be back.

We stopped at The Horseshoe on the way back from a meeting in Wolverhampton. We had not been before and decided to see what it was like. The pub inside is very plush and comfortable. We were greeted by Amy who was charming and helpful. we were shown to a table in the conservatory and given time to decide what we wanted to have. The selection was very good, with meals to satisfy most people. We ordered and again the service was polite, helpful and informative. The meal was well presented, and very well cooked. Thank you Shane the chef. Again the service (Becci this time) checked that everything was satisfactory and gave us some information about the venue and the area. We will definitely come again, and are already looking at dates we can meet family here.

At the weekend we made our second visit to this establishment in the last 6 months. The first time we went back in the summer we were made to wait 1 hour before our food was eventually brought out. They'd forgotten us and we were compensated with a £50 voucher as an apology, which they offered without any prompting or complaining from us. Fast forward to Nov 23 and we pay our second visit to the venue, hoping that maybe the experience was a one off and they were just having a bad day. Oh no, it seems to the standard service level here. We were seated and had our drinks order taken. 15 - 20 minutes later the drinks arrive and orders we're taken for our food. Again after a lengthy wait, of which 6/8 meals were standard Sunday dinners, they eventually arrived. We started to tuck in but we soon realised that the food was just about warm when it arrived was going cold fast, and was stone cold by the time we'd finished 10-15 mins later. A steak that was ordered for a child was inedible. Charred, tough, cooked very well done, when it was ordered to be medium to well. Our child couldn't eat any of it. The only meal that was satisfactory was one that was cooked to order off the Mains menu. When the plates were collected we passed on our concerns, to which the waitress offered the deserts menu which we declined, asking for the bill. They deducted all of our drinks and knocked the price of the childs meal off the bill. We used our apology voucher from our last bad experience there towards the bill too. The place looks great since it's recent refurbishment but they haven't got a clue in service or how to cook or serve food. This place will go bust soon with the amount of refunds and discounts they are having to knock off peoples bills because of the poor service and food. We won't be going back there anytime soon. For the premium prices you pay, the service and quality you get is very below par.

What a wonderful experience again!!! I took a friend who was 81 for a meal. The staff had put balloons and a banner up and gave her a birthday card she felt very special. She had fish and chips which she said was lovely and I had crispy belly pork which was amazing. The staff were welcoming and friendly. I have been here numerous times over the last 12 months and its always a wonderful experience

Six of us went for Sunday lunch. The Sunday lunch menu was confusing because all of us thought (on reading the menu) that steak was an option in the Sunday lunch menu with the addition of a small supplementary payment. It was not. For five of us, our food took more than an hour to arrive. However one of us did not get their food for more than 15 minutes after the rest of the party. We initially waited for the individuals whose food had not arrived as our food got colder. In the end we started while one of us waited hungry. It was awful experience and we got no discount off our bill. I will not good again and advise others not to go.

Just had a family meal for my daughters 30th birthday, there was 11 adults and 3 children we all had a great time. The meals were all good, and our waitress Lisa was brilliant, she did everything making sure we were all looked after. The only negative I could give was that no one helped her when there was other staff just standing around. Thank you Lisa

I went to the Horseshoes a few weeks ago for lunch. It was extremely quiet but the food was good. I decided to take my husband today. The surroundings are very good but due to the colour and material of the chairs, it is already getting grubby. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. As usual my husband had fish and chips and for a change I had the steak pie with chips. We couldn't believe how small the fish was when it eventually arrived 40 minutes later. The fish was warm, the mushy peas were cold and only just covered the bottom of the serving dish. The chunky chips were just the crunchy bits. My pie was very tasty but warm and some of the meat was chewy. The chips were really hot and tasty, unfortunately, my broccoli had only just seen the water and was cold and my carrots were good but warm. With three drinks, the total price was just under £49. We would have had a dessert but were very disappointed. The Horseshoes is out of the way and will rely on returning customers and word of mouth. Unfortunately, we will not be returning or recommending. Such a shame, nice place, nice staff but rubbish food, feel very disappointed .

Visited here for unexpected lunch. Greeted and shown to table. Pub is located in lovely quiet setting and nice gardens. Restaurant is beautifully decorated. We sat in conservatory overlooking to outdoor space. Took our drinks order quickly. Lovely size menu with choice of set lunches, starters and mains. We decided to go with a few starters to share with side dish of truffle and cheese chips. All served together and given side dishes. We chose the black pudding scotch egg, spicy beef salad and the squid all beautifully presented and served hot. Slightly disappointed with squid as only served with 3 very small pieces and slightly rubbery but the salad it was served on was very tasty but not quiet sure if it was worth the cost of dish for 3 pieces. Would definitely recommend the beef and scratch egg. Staff very friendly and efficient.

Headed to the horseshoes after a recommendation from a friend! We used to come to the horseshoes way back when and it’s changed a lot since then - for the better! Absolutely love the decor and the ambience inside! We took our dad out for his 66th birthday meal and we were blown away by the effort the staff had put in! They put up banners, balloons, wrote him a card and gave him a. complimentary drink! The service was unmatched and we were checked back on to see if our meals were okay - nothing was too much for the staff, they were very attentive! Excellent food, starters were great especially the Duck bon bons! Pork belly was sublime aswell as the steaks and Chicken Diane! We all picked different desserts and loved them all! Service was well paced and good all presented well. Top notch meal and service, couldn’t fault it! We will return! Kudos to the hard working staff on a busy Saturday night and to the chefs for a fab meal! We think our server was Simon but not 100% sure! We had the best time - thank you!
