OMG catlyn has smashed it again 🤗🤗 I took my family for breakfast and was lucky to find Catlyn on duty, her customer service is amazing Although the company prefers to give 1 x butter portion Catlyn remembered my preference i.e x 2 and i didnt even have to ask P.s my family was also very impressed Wetherspoons need to acknowledge her as an excellent asset to their company 👏👏👏

So good we book for steak night every Thursday 😋 food and staff are amazing. And if you go and it's not Steak Night Thursdays the food is just as good. Off street parking and a great choice of drinks. However the Steaks are amazing so go on a Thursday 👌

Definitely the best spoons I've been to. Go there all the time and the food is unmatched.

Nice wetherspoons with character

We had the 2 -5 food offer 1 fish & chips bread & butter and 1 beef madras. Was lovely very enjoyable . But the venue was not very clean lots of empty tables but not wiped or cleared. Staff were very nice . Excellent value meals 2 pints Guinness and a coffee £20 👍

Nice wetherspoons. Clean and good atmosphere

Spoons, attentive service. Lovely and clean, breakfast was hot and well presented in the Spoons way The same experience as previous. Hot food the spoons way. The dining area is getting shabby

Went there for lunch with a 16 week old dashhound puppy did not step foot in the place went to the out door eating and seating area saff came out make a fuss of the puppy then went back in. We then ordered our meals and then we where told to leave my the manger very bluntley he told us to drink our drinks and leave I said to him why he told me dogs are not allowed in the out door pup area. My point of all of this is why serve us drinks then full stop off the premises Needless to say mr spoons shove your pubs as far as the sun does not shine total joke and a waste of time Rant over we have now found a great pub in bishop that welcomes puppy and dogs

First time here on my trip up to the spoons in this area.Food was very good and service good.Tables were kept clean on a regular basis and staff very polite.

Prices are great and really friendly atmosphere. Katsu curry is amazing

Staff screaming at disabled children for not sitting still enough, known in general to have volatile attitudes towards children through the community. even though it’s supposed to be “family friendly” Allowed staff to swear and scream in front of customers and young children and even with more than several complaints did absolutely nothing about it. Still have the woman who screams at the local kids working the floor! Don’t take your little children here!! Especially with additional needs

As always, we had a good meal and time 🙌 I had the simple vegetarian curry with rice and it was really nice, the kids pizza was like a proper Italian pizza and hubby's fish and chips spot on. You can't go wrong 😋

It's a Wetherspoons. Good selection of beer at low prices. Cheap and cheerful bar food. Good value. Not one of the bigger or more 'interesting' buildings that Wetherspoons often like to convert (it has always been a small town pub) but it's nice enough and handy for the Market Place.

Great Food for the price and Service Excellent, Range of Real Ales was limited (all very similar Strong/Dark Ales) Range of Non-alcoholic options was good.

It's a wetherspoons, so reasonable food and reasonable beer at a reasonable price. Nothing special but good enough.

My partner and went for breakfast, the black pudding was most and service was good 👍

Just got back from a fab night here, we took mum for her 87th Birthday. Excellent service from Lee, very polite, friendly and helpful, as well as being attentive during our meal. Thank you Lee. Compliments to the Chef. We were served very quickly and the meal was delicious 😋 We had the Gourmet Steak, Triple Burger with cheese & bacon & small classic pub Fish & Chips. Steak was cooked perfectly, batter on onion rings and fish light and crispy. No photo of American pancakes and Chocolate Brownie as they didn't last long enough to take photos they were so yummy. Nice atmosphere, good prices, all the right elements to make a very memorable Birthday meal. Highly recommended. Thank you for a great night.

Special wetherspoon pub with a coal mining history. Food fresh and appetising even though ordered quite late in the evening. Friendly staff. Very quick bar and meal service

worse pub ever ...food is rubbish ...junk food ..& not cheap ? £3.50 for a small portion of chips ? take a close look at the menu.the pub is ..very dirty ...staff & manager..mike ..horrible people ..hence why minimum wages ?? the worse staff ever so we will never go again so avoid .it ..??. go to the crook hotel its great & good home cooked food ....here in crook ...hope street next to the main streets in town centre ..hope street ...thanks & merry christmas to all ....very good luck to you all for 2024 take cars ....xxxxxxxx.1xxxxxxxx

Nicely decorated with wide range of food and drinks and all reasonable priced.

You get what you pay for. Meals are reasonable.

Ordered the double burger.2 little slices of tomato.little bit of lettuce.I can only describe the burgers as tasteless.small and would defo not go back.

Dirty filthy tables inside and outside even on a quiet afternoon, had to walk about looking for a table clean enough to eat from . Plenty staff about but the management don't seem or are incapable of running the place to the standard of other wetherspoons

Couldn't find a clean table outside also inside hadn't been cleared but eventually found one. This was 4.45 pm so not very busy. Seems clearing and wiping tables is not a priority. Beer good staff friendly food ok done as requested.

Perfect place after a long day.

The last time that I was in this place I was watching an Iggy Pop cover act in the back room. But now it's a Wetherspoons, and what a transformation! The first thing I noticed was the air conditioning, which made the cramped establishment very comfortable. The usual Wetherspoons bar service let the place down, in Wetherspoons bars it seems to me that, staff never serve people in the correct order that they arrive at the bar and the staff generally congregate at the central area forgetting about the perimeter areas of the bar, leaving certain customers wondering whether to stick it out or leave the establishment. The Coors lager was £2.46p per pint, very cheap in my opinion, other drinks were all priced extremely competitively. I will be revisiting Crook sooner rather than later.

We ate hear, not for the first time, so knew exactly what to expect. Standard spoons meal. Very busy. Although it was Sunday lunchtime, meal average, but you get what you pay for. Cheap drinks, tables not the cleanest and very close together.

Probably one of the best Witherspoon's about, nice friendly staff, always great food and never too busy.

Nice food, however dirty tables everywhere and one member of staff running the food. After the busy period, another member of staff helping. Everyone should be working together. Team work.

Visited here a year or so ago when visiting friends and everything was first class so when we returned last night for another visit we all agreed this was the place to go. The drinks where spot on and very reasonably priced so we thought "jackpot" then we ordered food. I ordered one of the new meals on the menu, steak and kidney pudding with mash and peas and waited with anticipation. What a let down when it arrived. The pudding itself was crunchy in parts, it was more like a pie crust and the mashed potato was hard and dry, what there was of it, I think it must have been put on the plate with a dessert spoon instead of a full sized serving spoon, I have two regrets now, one is ordering it in the first place and I really wish I had taken a picture of it as I think there would have been more on the plate for a child's portion. The two stars are for the drinks. "Shocking"

Ordered Christmas lunch today @1.30 pm, had to send back as was stone cold, returned with lunch cold warmed up in micro, absolutely disgusting and totally un edible, and not a staff member returned to see if meal was rectified, Christmas lunch more like dogs dinner,

Nice atmospheric Wetherspoons with open kitchen and different rooms so giving private atmosphere in some areas. Not much parking on street but just up road is large free car park. Always worth a visit. Always clean and tidy. Have regular promotions, such as bingo, raffles and quiz nights.

Very clean and tidy throughout. Meals were hot and very tasty. Staff friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the quiz. The quiz is held every Sunday at 7pm

Service awful 90,% of time ,sometimes waiting up to 15 mins to get served.Manageress ? shouldn't be working with people as rather rude and sharp in response to any questions regarding possibility of getting more staff behind bar .Always something wrong with at least one of meals ordered so no longer eat there ,other than the above it's brilliant 🤭

Simple food, really well priced. Cheap and cheerful surroundings and really reasonable priced beer and wine. Very busy at times but that's because of how popular it is. Was originally a butchers and a pub but been very well joined together. Always a good starter for a night out if your drinking around crook. Kids lovd the ice cream there and it's good for little stop offs if were in crook. Well who doesn't fancy a pint after shopping with two little ones lol.

Very poor limited menu no wraps,pizza, burgers or chips till a party of about 30 arrived and then the menu was back to normal .

Excellent choice of real ales, lagers etc, the food was delicious and served very quickly, one of the cheapest Witherspoon's I've ever been to, gets busy but the building is large enough to take it, well worth a look.

What a tasty meal. Vegan and vegetarian options are on point and taste amazing too! Had beyond burger and it was cooked to perfection salad was fresh and tasty, and beer menu is brilliant as always. Absolutely fantastic service and will be returning again in near future. Would normally photograph food for these reviews but tasted so good I couldn't stop eating it to take a pic.

Typical spoons very busy worth a visit if you are in the area

One of the smaller Wetherspoons. A nice place to with all the attendant Wetherspoon benefits but too often bedevilled by disinterested staff who take ages to serve you. Not helped by a manager who seems to neither know nor care about beer and cask ale.

Popped in mostly to get out of the weather 🌧️decided to get lunch. nice cosy place. not to busy easy ordering good atmosphere.food arrived promptly .was very tasty I had chicken wrap yummy.love the coffee and free refills woundnt heastate to go again ♥️

Food not great. Undercooked chicken. Jelly cold skin in some placed and black burnt in others. Rice was stodge stuck together, no coleslaw didn't even tell me until asked about it. Staff not too bothered about poor quality of food. Great selection of non alcoholic beverages... Disappointed as not all wetherspoons are like this...
