The Hop Vine in West Lancashire

4 of us had starters, mains and deserts. All different dishes. All very tasty, exceptionally cooked. Staff were outstanding. Great place to eat and drink.

Had a meal at this pub and could not fault the food or the service. Good food, lovely atmosphere, pleasant ambience, friendly and attentive staff. Photos - scampi, pâté, prawn cocktail & steak & Stilton baguette.

A great pub, been calling in for years, but staff need to learn basic etiquette.

We come as a family (20 people) for a meal every Christmas as the food&service is excellent. We travel over from Wigan/Warrington, so in my opinion it is one of the best pubs in the area. The pub itself is lovely; I wish it was my local 👌

Brilliant Customer Service Combined With A Great Atmosphere.

Real good ales, with a couple of pretty hard to find German weisses. It was über busy when we visited, but the barmaids were all really on the ball with keeping track of who was next at the bar and dead friendly despite being rushed off their feet. Great atmosphere, and glad we took the trip out of Wigan to try somewhere different. Have heard food things about the food, but didn't order this time. Will definitely sample the menu next time

We Had dinner at the hop vine and ordered 3 different meals, all came together, the sandwich and the gammon were good, the prawn curry was disappointing all red and green peppers and a few prawns in a mediocre sauce, service and bar drinks were good.

Rumoured to be the best pub in West Lancashire...and I can believe it. I just started going in regularly, and it really is a nice, traditional Pub. No blaring TV screens or fruit machines to be found, and they have a great selection of drink, served up by quite beautiful staff. Highly recommended. 🍻

Went here on Saturday night ......it was packed so good job we booked ....all excellent from the cheery staff to the food ....we all had 3 coures ..and all courses where exceptional.......we wi be back again very soon ....

The hop vine is the heart and soul of our Burscough village, Mike Julie and the team provide a great place to drink eat and socialise, the food is cooked to perfection and the beer is even better.

We had a lovely family pre Christmas meal. Very friendly and efficient staff. Lovely food - I had fish pie and it was excellent. The atmosphere in the pub was really nice. Excellent value for money. All in all a great experience.

Food was delicious. Service was good and had a nice atmosphere. They even have a dedicated GF menu. I’d say it’s on the more pricey side, but worth every penny. Would definitely recommend!

Given a warm welcome on arrival. Booked a table for eight diners. The waitresses were friendly and helpful, bringing all the meals within minutes of each other, so no one was waiting to eat. (well done to the chef). The food was de-lic-ious! The whole pub atmosphere was pleasant and not too noisy or loud music. . Overall, a lovely meal had by all our table. I don't live locally, but will certainly make the effort to visit again. The manager can be proud of his staff. Highly recommend it.

Always a busy pub in the centre of Burscough. The food is traditional pub grub. Everything is fresh, well cooked and locally sourced There is a good selection of drinks as well with an on site micro brewery making their own ale. If you want food it's best to book in advance, but it's a good pub just to pop in for a pint, though it can be standing room only of an evening on the weekend.

First time at the Hop Vine and won't be our last. Visited on a Sunday and had Sunday lunch. I am vegetarian and it was honestly the best I have had. Absolutely delicious.

Lovely country style pub with a traditional gastro-pub menu of well cooked food made with well sourced produce. A wide bar selection and welcoming atmosphere too. Recommended

Called into here on Saturday night with friends. Lovely pub, sat down and got nice and comfy. Started drinking only to be told we had to move because someone wanted to eat there and they had booked. Fine, but maybe think about putting a reserved sign on the table. Also, I am no prude, but the girl servers skirts are none existence. It bothered me (and I am fine, it may not bother them) but sitting there you can see some blokes eyes popping out when ever they went passed or bent over.

Well where do I start the staff are absolutely amazing.The food is amazing. The atmosphere is amazing. Me my wife and my sister and brother in law go at least once a month and we CANNOT recommend the Hopvine enough. As always first class 👍

Very good pricing, beer was lovely and cold. Overall warm atmosphere with plenty of seating. Even had someone playing the saxophone live!

What an amazing pub! Went with extended family for a meal and the whole experience was superb. The food was reasonably priced and great quality. Their own craft beer was very good and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back.

Our second visit. Really enjoyed both our visits. Food is exceptionally good. Service the same. Highly recommend the steak pie. Delicious. Can't wait to visit again. P.S My son had the beef burger with black pudding and said it was the best he had ever had.

A late Sunday evening visit,so cannot comment on the food because we didn't eat. All I can say is there's plenty of staff to help your needs the beer choice is plentiful and it still feels like a traditional British pub with a good selection some which is brewed in the micro brewery on site.

Well, the Hop Vine have truly excelled themselves! Family had only booked for 8 but the group had increased to 13, and the restaurant was fully booked. But amazingly, they managed to squeeze everyone in (without being squashed) and on adjacent tables too. The service was second to none - heaven knows how they coped so quickly with the increase in orders - all brought to the tables served absolutely professionally in next to no-time. Delicious doesn't do it justice - all meals were reported to be top notch quality and visually appealing. And all due to the hard work and willingness of the friendly staff to accommodate the group without compromising any of their high standards. So thank you so much, staff at Hop Vine - you made a spontaneous family/friends gathering into an occasion to remember for all the very best of reasons. The family will be back!

I have been here to the Hop Vine many, many times, too many times to count, honestly. I have tried a wide range of their menu, from their Steak and Ale pie, their Fish & Chips, their Hunter’s Chicken, their Rumpsteak, i’ve had the lot. So it’s safe to say i am somewhat of a connoisseur of their food. And for all the times i’ve visited, i’ve never once been let down by not just the food, but also the service. The memories i’ve been able to share here over the years, have been nothing short of fond ones. But, alas. Today’s meal, i had something different from the norm. Today i decided that i’d order their Wild Mushroom Linguini. Which i must say, most people would not think this was pub grub. For what i had you’d think it was from a proper Italian restaurant. It was scrumptious, however. It really was. The creaminess of the base, the soft texture of the linguini, the chewy and flavourful mushrooms, the subtle spinach and leek add some subtle flavours, along with the parmesan, it was brilliant, utterly marvellous, in fact. Service, as usual, was superb. The waitress’s are always attentive and all ears out for your every needs. Decor is very cozy and warm, too. I can imagine this place feeling like home in the winter months. As i have been here so many times, and i’ve never once been disappointed, i would recommend you bob on by for either a drink alone or some great pub grub! 5/5 on all fronts.

Had a nice meal here I enjoyed the steak pie but my wife didn't enjoy her fish finger sandwich it was dry ,but fair play to the management the knocked it off the bill ,which I thought was very kind .

Went today for the first time. Plenty of choice but the sandwiches we chose were delicious , fresh bread and plenty of filling the chubby chips were a great addition . All the staff were lovely and very helpful will definitely be returning

Went on a Sunday and it was very busy, good job we had booked a table for 5. We had black pudding, nachos and pork belly, followed by 4 roasts and 1 pie. 3 of us had to force ( we were already full) on of the best crème brûlée ever. We will be back

Myself and a friend organised a baby shower celebration in the Coach Suite at the Hop Vine, Burscough. I would thoroughly recommend checking the Hop out, if your planning a celebration. Mike, Julie, Katie, Ellie and lovely Hannah behind the bar were super attentive and nothing was too much trouble. They arranged afternoon tea for over 40 ladies and I have to say for the price (£10 per person). It was one of the best afternoon tea's I've ever had. The sandwiches were lovely and fresh. Scones and cakes, tea and prosecco were plentiful.

As usual the food was very tasty and well presented. We enjoyed the Hunters Chicken and there is a very good selection of Vegetarian dishes and they were very good. The drinks are great value and their beer selection is great.

Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was very nice with decent portion sizes. Good variety of real ales available. Will definitely go again!

We've been putting off going to the Hop Vine for a while on the assumption that it was expensive and now we're kicking ourselves for not going sooner! Absolutely nothing to fault - all the dishes were superb, the sevice was attentive and friendly and when the bill came we were delighted at the valuye for money we'd received. We'll be back

Food and service is good everytime I've been

It is a lovely place to eat. It's dog friendly and has an amazing ambience. Staff are great. The food was fantastic. Parking is a bit tricky. I parked at tesco.

We took a service user here for her birthday, the service was excellent, the food was really delicious. We had jacket potato with cheese and red onion which came with salad, and ordered a fish and chips for the birthday girl. The staff came over with an ice cream with a candle in and sang happy birthday which was so lovely.

One of the best places for fish and chips, as well as lots of other delicious dishes. Would highly recommend!

the hop vine was recommended by a friend , I decided while I was off for the day I'd treat the Mrs to a nice little run out for a early afternoon meal , we running late so called in advance , the lady on the line was wonderful. I must say the service we received was unbelievable everyone was so super friendly and attentive, we were made so very welcome , we viewed the menu prior so we actually ordered over the phone as we made our way there .. the food was absolutely beautiful and plenty of it too and very reasonably priced also , was definitely worth the 20 mile drive , cannot recommend highly enough ..

Layout of the Pub is nicely spaced, with a comfortable 'old' feel about it 👍 Menu is varied and quite large, so something for everyone 😉 The food is fantastic, really nicely cooked with great ingredients and great presentation 😎 Food is served quickly and is piping hot 👍 Service is very good, fast, efficient and friendly 👍 Definitely a place to visit if you're in the area (or even to head to if you're not close by 😉) you won't be disappointed 👍😎

We had lunch here after it being recommended and it didn’t disappoint. They had a good election of food with gluten free options available and were happy to modify anything to our requirements. Everywhere was lovely and clean and it just had a lovely feel to it, with families, groups and couples setting a nice atmosphere and buzz. Staff were great, service fab and food lovely - and reasonably priced. A lovely visit, thank you and we’ll defiantly be back.

The Hop Vine is one of my favourite places to eat in the area and have not dined here for a while. We had the Steak & Ale Pie, Hunters Chicken and for desert Apple Pie & Cheesecake. Why if one of my favourite places to dine do I give 4 stars…..simple…The Hop Vine has set high standards with our past visits and this visit was very good but not as good as previous (now we are splitting hairs here) as it was very good. I think it was because we enjoyed our desert more than the main course. The staff here are very and I mean very good and friendly some of the finest in the area. A wonderful selection of real ales. I wish I could pop the star rating at 4.5 but can only put 4 and not fair to put 5 when I know and have experienced the Hop Vine at its finest previously. Would I return - yes, would I recommend to anybody - absolutely. One of finest Pub / Restaurants in the area.

The lamb roast and cheesecake was amazing, service started well, but got a little slow when the pub got busy.

The food was amazing as ways and the service was even better.

Bit disappointed tbh. Free house. Good friendly service, busy and the bar had a buzz about it. Beer was average though unfortunately. Their own best bitter was flat and was on the verge. The Timmy Taylor's was ok. Not a massive selection of real ales .

Staff were very polite and helpful, the steak pie was lovely and so was the fish and chips. But the Eaton mess cheese cake was next level.mmmmm. 5*..
