Staff are extremely pleasant, welcoming and helpful The menus choice and quality of our food was amazing. A wonderful experience. We rarely go out to eat but have been so taken with The Hop Pole that we've been for lunch 4 times in the last 6 weeks. And I'm going again next week 😊. Super food at really good value in a really friendly surrounding.

The Hop Pole may not be the most local spot, but its popularity speaks for itself. The venue has a welcoming and well-maintained ambiance that makes it stand out. It’s easy to see why it’s a favourite among regulars. While it might require a bit of a trek, the experience is well worth the visit for a pleasant and enjoyable time. Sadly didnt have time for the food but will sure to try at some time!

Only went because I wanted a drink of Guinness after being away on holiday and not able to get one. A sweary drunken woman being louder than necessary, even had her child with her. Doesn't help the atmosphere. Shall stick to not going

Lovely pub and gorgeous food. I organised a birthday meal for a large party of us for my nana and I cannot thank Toyah enough, she did everything above and beyond. Table booked for 5pm and I asked for the food to come out all together at half past and the food came out on time and hot. Much appreciated, thank you to the chefs and Toyah 😁😁.

Staff were exceptionally helpful. We had a child who is very aĺlergic to milk and eggs and staff were extremely thoughtful and helpful. We were in the end small room. The room was very squashed and very warm as there were no opening windows. (We were a big party and had added two extra people on the day so this may have been why we were squashed)

Popped in for lunch. 3 of us tried a curry, mixed grill and Greek chicken wrap. Place was clean and well maintained. Staff very efficient and friendly and food well cooked. Best local sizzling pub I have visited.

The hop pole is a large but cosy pub. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, there is a wide choice of beers, lager and cider including cask conditioned real ale. The pub is very popular for its good food. The pub also has live music at the weekend and I have been to see some really good bands here. There is an outside seating area and a car park.

Enjoyed our lunch very much. Staff very friendly and the meals were delicious. No complaints. Will visit again.

I had the lasagne with garlic bread it was ok but it was a shame there was no salad with it!

Fantastic Food at The Hop Pole! Just had a fantastic meal at The Hop Pole and couldn't wait to share my experience! The food was absolutely top-notch - everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Whether you're a pub food traditionalist or looking for something more adventurous, I'm sure you'll find something to love on the menu. The staff were just brilliant too. Super friendly and attentive, they made the whole experience even more enjoyable. They were happy to answer questions and offer recommendations, which was a big help. And let's not forget the prices! The Hop Pole offers fantastic value for money. You won't break the bank enjoying a delicious meal and a friendly atmosphere. Overall, I can't recommend The Hop Pole highly enough. Never had any problems apart from with the blonde manager who’s always stuck up and in a mood.

It’s a lovely welcoming environment always clean, the food is nice aswell and the staff are very helpful. Enjoyed the lovely outside seating area.

Went to hop pole with my wife I had a large mixed grill absolutely fantastic,my wife had steak ribs same again said it was excellent. Staff excellent and 40% off the price if you download the can't go wrong top notch food desert drinks if you haven't been you must make a point of going you won't be disappointed 20/20

We came back after a previous poor experience (see TripAdvisor). Ryan, pleasant as ever, had reserved a table for us in a quiet spot, as requested. Food was served in a timely manner. Whilst two portions of fish n chips were hot, my all day breakfast was, at best, lukewarm. Due to staff shortages, we weren't asked how things were until I'd nearly finished. Ryan apologised and kindly offered drinks or dessert by way of recompense. Unfortunately, I didn't want either, however, Ryan gave me a voucher for our next visit. I was satisfied with how he handled the issue and with the outcome.

A friendly staff with excellent service. First time we'd been for a while but quickly put at ease. A good choice of meals and what we chose was tasty and well presented.

Due to bring a large group we had to pre order, the hood came out in a really organised manner that made it so easy for us. Food was delicious too

Visited alone as my family don’t like me. Food was really good for the price ( i got 11 pieces of scampi when i think i was only meant to get 9). Due to this extra food i didn’t have a dessert which was a shame as i love eton mess. The atmosphere was really good however i was bit disappointed there was no piano to play. I would like to give a special mention to young Alex who was working on the bar and we had a great chat to about our beloved Hull. He is a credit to the Hop Pole. I will definitely be back but hopefully not alone👍🍻😃 Cheers guys for a good day!

Absolutely fantastic atmosphere, food and entertainment. Friendly staff one in particular name badge said Jo was a very happy go lucky lady had lots of banter with her she made us feel very comfortable and made our night.

Took my grandchildren for meal, very disappointed, plates cold, chips cold, other food cold, thankfully chicken hot, never been on a monday night before wont be going on a monday again, must be different chef to a friday as normally lovely hot food on a friday. Was thinking of booking forchristmas day for 12 of us, maybe not a good idea.

Always been a good place to eat with great staff...last night was something else, 3 meals, 2courses all outstanding!!

We dined here on three separate occassions over the weekend, visiting from Dublin. On the 7th we had breakfast and dinner which was beautiful the service the atmosphere and the food you could not fault. The staff operating on that date were lovely welcoming and friendly. However we went for breakfast again based on our previous experience this morning 8-10-23 and to say there was a switch would be putting it mildly. The food was fabulous as it was the morning before, however the staff where absolutely appalling there was two lady’s operating one appeared to be a manager or senior staff member and another young girl was waiting tables. The senior lady was arguing from the kitchen we heard clearly on arrival her loud screams from the kitchen as it was relatively quiet , we where using northern Irish pound to which the young girl wasn’t sure was accepted, so she went to get the lady shouting in the kitchen for approval, this is absolutely fine we travel to England often and have had businesses refuse the pound, that was of no issue to us we paid with card. Albeit the business has every right to refuse the pound we offered, which is fine. The lady working was the rudest woman I’ve ever met in my life, she abruptly shouted across the bar to my partner “No we don’t accept incase it’s fake” after actually checking the note with a marker pen which I watched her do. When my partner explained we’ve had no trouble using the pound this trip, she abruptly answered “we don’t accept we’ve been given fake ones before” this was embarrassing and almost felt like an accusation of us using fake notes which other customers heard as again she shouted this. My partner paid with his card and came back to his seat, After which she stood at the bar loudly discussing us in a rude manner, the woman has zero customer service skills in my opinion she was rude and obnoxious sniggering after the refusal, no apology for the inconvenience or even a nice tone to her voice. Further more she went back to the kitchen and began screaming again, while we awaited breakfast, upon delivering our breakfast she didn’t wish us to enjoy it, she dropped the plates almost like there was an issue with us and walked away like a petulant child who’d been told off. She returned to the kitchen and continue screaming while we ate breakfast very uncomfortably as we almost felt unwanted. The lady operating breakfast service today needs a stern reality check on how to handle the public or deal with people I’ve never had an experience like we’ve had this morning. We ate and rushed off as quickly as possibly. Again I must say the other waitresses and bar staff from the day previous where wonderful polite and friendly this lady however really let the establishment down and we wouldn’t be returning for dinner today based on her behaviour and mannerisms during service. She spent her time in the kitchen screaming during our breakfast which is quite literally the rudest most unprofessional behaviour I have ever seen in my life, she made us uncomfortable and she was just blatantly ignorant to her role. I strongly advise sending this woman on a customer service course as she’s utterly clueless on how to behave in a work environment.

Came in this Sunday for the Arsenal v United game. First time trying hop pole and was a good vibe to be in. Alex (the tall one) was very chatty and friendly. Made me and my pals feel very welcome and has persuaded us to come back for the next game. From perfectly poured pints to a stunning atmosphere, can’t go wrong. Will be returning, thanks Alex

Did eat, just sat outside- would been nice to have fresh water for Dogs as this would welcome more public-

bland food char grilled chicken on mixed veg with basmati rice served on a sizzling skillet the veg was steamed to mush and tasted of nothing the rice was wet and had no flavour the chicken wasn't seasoned and tasted boiled all topped of with some garlic the only flavour on the all plate. over priced. ignorant staff. and the app doesn’t work will only let you choose a collection time so had to queue at the tiny over crowded bar. gone right down hill in the past couple of years.
