Beverley Arms Restaurant in East Riding of Yorkshire

I just ordered a pizza to spend a nice night with my girlfriend, the pizza to 30min to bake and 1h30 out of delivery and I received nothing, no news, no pizza NOTHING. It is clearly a legal fraud, I paid for a product I didn't receive Also I called them multiple times and no one responded

We went for our anniversary, stayed one night. Free parking behind the hotel,but met by a grumpy attendant, and we were lucky as only one space left. Only 2 disabled parking bays, and these were full, but first come first served. Staff at reception were most helpful and showed us to our room, which is a rarity today. Lovely cosy room overlooking the cathedral and very central location. The room size was good for cozy and didn't feel too small. It had everything you needed, Lovely white company toiletries, comfy bed,good shower, kettle and coffee machine (although we couldn't get it to work,even tho I followed instructions!). Lovely meal in the restaurant in the evening, and good service. Nice breakfast. Overall a great hotel, lovely decor, and little touches all provided. I would recommend and stay again if in the area

Very pleasant staff,we had a lovely room, breakfast was of a good standard, good car park we had nothing whatsoever to complain about.

We have always really enjoyed going to the Beverley Arms and it was our first choice for an early evening pre-theatre meal. However… A salad with quinoa, pulses, tomatoes (plural) and halloumi illustrated the height of meaness. Two little gem lettuce leaves (one a little brown and somewhat wilted), one cherry tomato cut into quarters and four strips of halloumi literally shaved off of block for about £20. The starter was fine, the pudding was lovely but it will still be some time before we go back.

20 of us had the private dining room for our wedding lunch . Everything was perfect from start to finish. Service , food , atmosphere , it simply could not be faulted and as we both work in hospitality we know when something is good . And this was more than good . A special thanks to Ashleigh who coordinated everything and all her staff who did an exemplary job. You helped make our special day perfect. Lance and James

Food was all excellent. Service was passable. The biggest disappointment was my salmon which was very small for the price charged.

My wife and I visited with 2 friends and to say we were happy is an understatement. From the moment we arrived from the time we left the service that the hotel and its team was excellent. We will definitely be back and will be recommending it to all.

On Saturday 17 Aug my wife and I visited for a coffee and cake. I ordered chocolate fudge cake. The cake arrived, it looked like it had been thrown onto the plate, there were bits of chocolate icing on various parts of the plate. There wasn`t any icing sugar or cocoa dusted on the plate nor any decoration, maybe a couple of strawberries or other garnish. No cream was offered. You really let yourselves down today in respect of how this cake was presented. Maybe someone should look at the way your present cakes.

My son and his partner booked this hotel for me and my husband when we went to see him. From the moment we arrived to check in the staff were brilliant so friendly and welcoming. We had a laugh with them and the was a lady called Julie who was especially friendly. Even though my son wasn't staying there she showed all four of us to our room and on the way through the hotel she explained where everything was. The room was beautiful and so big. Especially liked the bar of gallexy on the table what a lovely touch. We all had something to eat later in the evening and the food was fist class. Julie was there every time we passed reception and we had a laugh with her. The bed was comfortable and the next morning my son and partner came to have breakfast with us. The staff were so attentive and helpful nothing was to much trouble. They all made our short stay feel comfortable. I just wish we could have stayed longer. I can't praise this hotel enough. My son had stayed at one of there other hotels up and n the lake district and said it was fantastic so I was expecting it to be nice and wasn't disappointed. Second time stopping there great place . Great location, great rooms , tv, coffee , tea making facilities. Hairdryer and if needed iron and ironing board. The staff are brilliant. Lisa, who was on in the morning, was like a breath of fresh air, and her sister Anit was just the same who was on the bar side of the staff. Isobel, who worked in the restaurant, served us dinner on two evenings. What a pleasant young lady she is. All the staff their are well trained and happy in their workplace. All are a credit to the hotel. The courtyard is a great place to have a drink with heaters and throws if needed. We will definitely go back there.

We decided to have a late lunch on a sunny day. We have eaten at The Beverley Arms for many years. Not sure we will go again after the rude way we were treated by the staff!! We were both smartly dressed went in through the correct entrance!! We politely asked for a table for two outside. We were informed they had a table with high seats so we agreed as inside it was too hot. When we walked through to the outside area we were very rudely told there were no seats at all!! Some other people had gone through the other glass doors and took the table!! We clearly saw some searing, we enquired roughly how long it may be until a table may be available and were snapped at could be 15 minutes or could be an hour!! The other seating inside was so hot no visible fans to cool the air. Two male customers at different sides talking to each other loud voices which was very off putting. We got up to walk out and although we said to staff we were not at all happy, we were virtually ignored!! Not what you expect!!

We wanted a big size pizza, we paid £12, instead of the pizza we wanted, small size pizza came, even though we didn't want it, it was given to us by force, although we didn't want it, they sold us the pizza, which was normally sold for £4 The employees were very rude because we can't speak English to the employees because it was Arab

They charged us 12 sterlings for the smallest pizza whereas they are 4 sterlings, we though there was a mistake but the driver was so rude. We didn't want to get the pizzas but the manager said they won't cancel the order and give our money back. Don't order anything from that store ever!! They don't even speak good English. Teach that Kurdish driver some manners!!!

They sold us the pizza, which normally costs 4 pounds, for 12 pounds. The pizza has nothing to do with the photos. Moreover, the courier who brought the pizza to us was very rude. They said that they would not give a refund if we did not accept the pizza. It is literally a modern fraud.

A very indifferent experience for what was a stunning venue on the inside and well designed. Chose the 'Thwaites beer battered fish' with chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce. It was tasty, but really greasy. My wife ordered a double portion of the starter pasta dish that they planned to serve as two courses. However, she chose not to have it twice after one portion. It was bland and tasteless, and was essentially overcooked ricotta pasta with some bits of butternut squash in sauce. The service wasn't great and the staff were not visible at times, even though they were just stood at bottom. I had to get up and walk across to them a couple of times. They overcharged us for two pastas even though we cancelled one, so they had to knock it off the bill. A great venue, but a disappointing experience. It may be better for just having a drink.

Lovely meal, but then it all went so wrong. We received the bill with the words Happy Mothers Day written on it. It's totally inappropriate in my circumstances, having lost my mother in tragic circumstances. Please be aware of your actions. They do not apply to everyone!

My two friends and I liked the look of this place and looked forward to going for drinks on a Saturday night. The welcome we received was lukewarm and we were directed into a lounge to the front of the hotel (the only area available apparently, even though there were lots of free tables) There was one table available with only two seats so we asked one of the team for an extra chair. After a few minutes, the team member dumped a very small stool down at the table and walked off, as if it was a major problem. We decided not to bother staying. There were lots of other nice places to drink in the town instead

Lovely hotel inside and out, the restaurant area is bright and airy and the seating comfortable, shame about the wobbly tables. Our food was delicious, Sunday beef and fish pie deserve a special mention. Our waitress Helen was lovely, making my grandson smile and getting his meal prepared just as he wanted it. The rose wine we had was also great. A lovely lunch and we would recommend.

Tried to get in to Beverley Arms - waited at door to be seated for over 5 minutes - waitress at bar shouted over to us 'are you ok?" . We said we were waiting and she just shouted back "ok, won't be long'. Person who I suspect was the manager (unusual 19th century updo) smirked and then laughed and then shouted back "won't be long!' We waited a few more minutes and were ignored, even though waiting staff were walking past us. Just a weird, unfriendly experience. I think the staff need some proper training and perhaps manager could do with a short course at Charm School.

It's a lovely environment, the area you pop I to have a tea coffee is great. The food in that area is expensive and poor. Very poor sandwiches, stale bread and cheap ingredients and top prices. The service is excellent. The restaurant is OK but again the surroundings are far better than the food quality & not the best choice. I got the feeling that there is penny pinching behind the scenes with the food ingredients buying. I'll stick to a cup of tea from now on.

Enjoyed the perfect Sunday lunch with my partner, generous helpings and amazing Yorkshire puddings. Miniature desserts are a good idea if you have eaten well and are delicious. What stands out above everything though is the staff attitude, absolutely first class and so very helpful and friendly, Management should be very proud of them all.

Well appointed room, great bed. Very friendly staff, attentive. Great dinner and breakfast, quality ingredients, well presented. Plenty of parking at the hotel. We will return.

I think our fifth stay and it never disappoints, easily the best hotel in East Yorkshire.... Stayed in a family bedroom complete with bunk beds, very spacious, everything you needed, breakfast is fantastic. Never had an issue with car parking, as this is reserved for Guests only.

Booked a one night stay to see my brother in law and take him and his partner to dinner to celebrate his 60th! It was a monday night so the hotel restaurant was the obvious choice. The bar staff, restaurant staff and the meal were all great. We had a fabulous time. The room was clean & comfy ans breakfast was good. After breakfast we stayed and had coffee and drinks in the bar before heading home. It was all great.

Great service from checking in to checking out. Room large with great facilities. Coffee, toiletries all ample and quality. Food excellent. Both Dinner and Breakfast. Ideal position in Beverley for accessing town.

They always have good offers on pick-up. Staff is effective and rapid. The pizza is great.

Called in for lunch today . I had monkfish cheeks and my friend had lamb casserole, both small plates, sharing a portion of chunky chips. Both were tasty but the lamb was supposed to come with a scone not the two thin pieces of bread served. This proved to be not enough to soak up the delicious sauce. When this was pointed out, Anita sorted extra bread and the bowl was left squeaky clean. We were able to fully enjoy our lunch thanks to Anita's prompt action.

I was surprised to read the negative reviews for Christmas Day lunch. We were a family of 6 - four adults and 2 children who all had an adult meal. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the drinks and Lisa was a brilliant and pleasant waitress. We had no complaints at all.

This hotel is absolutely superb in every single way . All the staff are superb, friendly & very professional. My room was utterly delightful, immaculately clean, & beautifully appointed. I was extremely comfortable. Dinner was delicious & very good value indeed. The location is excellent, parking easy, I strongly recommend staying here.

We were lucky enough to be invited to a 'private' function in the old kitchen area to celebrate a friends big birthday. The food was amazing (we had pre ordered and none of us regretted our choices) the soup was especially good as were the couscous salad and risotto. The wine choices are varied which we appreciated and the birthday girls fizz went down a treat. The service was outstanding, Helen had the right balance of professionalism, humor and we appreciated her northern honesty too, this is a rare trait these days. The old kitchen has a welcoming charm and warmth and you can feel the history: we are already planning our big birthdays there in the future.

Called in for drinks with friends to find out you are not allowed to sit at the bar anymore, you have to wait for a seat to be sat with dinners , as far as im concerned drinkers at the bar and dinners to be seated, so when we came out after only one drink when normally we would have stayed for several we stank of food. Shame but will not return.

I visited the Beverly Arms today for what could be the best lamb Sunday lunch ever. The lamb just melted in the mouth, the yorkshire pudding was amazing . Our waitress Amy was wonderful very helpful and added to the lovey time spent in the Beverly Arms..... Will be back again soon

Normally a saturday treat to order from here for the family but last few orders had minor issues (missing burger sauce topping, dip missing) and now half an half pizzas removed from the menu so not worth it for a big group

I have visited The Beverly Arms a few times over the past year or so and each experience has been thoroughly enjoyable. In the summer we used the large airy patio area and, more recently, the interior restaurant was just perfect for a drizzly Autumn day. I remember this hotel from before its relatively recent make-over and it has improved immeasurably, both in terms of appearance and delivery of services. On my most recent visit, we were greeted and seated by very pleasant staff members who were chatty and helpful throughout the duration of our visit. Service was pretty quick, given that the hotel seemed reasonably busy. I really liked the restaurant space, it is large and airy with modern, clean decor, with views into the kitchen at the back and over the patio area to the side. I appreciate that the tables are well spaced too, so you don't feel hemmed in or crowded at any point. I chose a genuinely delicious mushroom and leek risotto which is probably one of the nicest I've ever had. My husband's fish and chips were well presented and very well cooked. Big portion too as I had to 'help' him finish the chips! My mum, who has a smaller appetite, chose the carrot and coriander soup starter/small plate and she enjoyed it so much she actually said she wished it had been a bigger portion. Prices are similar to 'gastro pub' prices (just under £18 for fish and chips with bread and (delicious!) butter) but, given the quality of the food and the relaxed, comfortable dining space, as well as the convenience of the location and lovely staff, I think it's absolutely worth it. A very pleasant meal for the occasion and I would not hesitate to return or recommend.

Great atmosphere, great food, great staff- Our waitress Anita was very welcoming and friendly, and helpful when answering questions for us ! Nice selection of beers and the Sunday roasts were fab, just wish there was a bit more veg!! Other than that, perfect place for lunch.

Our second visit to this lovely hotel. We were taken by a member of staff to our character room which was very helpful as my husband has mobility issues. We had breakfast and evening meals and both were excellent. We found all the staff to be very helpful and friendly, nothing too much trouble. We will definitely be returning.

Another great stay for a bit of a shopping trip with my friend who'd not stayed there before. She was mightily impressed. Everyone from reception to housekeeping is so friendly and efficient. Met old friends and dined in the bar at the Beverley Arms. We’re regulars so knew what to expect. The pie and mash was spot on as always, as was the beef roast. Fish and chips were very good, but I wouldn’t have bread and butter again. Anita was totally fantastic - attentive, knowledgeable, and we felt we were in very safe hands. A very warm “people person”. It’s a shame that the outdoor area remains under canvas post- Covid as there aren’t many decent beer gardens in Beverley, but I see the benefits from a business point of view. It remains a lovely place which we shall continue to frequent, and thank you Anita :)

We decided to have lunch at The Beverley Arms. We decided to sit outside in the sunshine. The waitresses can be a bit slow you need to make sure you have the full menu as well as the lunch menu as there are more choices on full menu. The wine is really nice French Rose. The food was good but the service got really slow.

We booked it on a Sunday evening for my daughter's birthday with her boyfriend and his family. Food was quite OK, although no roast beef left ! But the service did not do the place credit. The waitress was familiar and abrupt to the point of being rude. My daughters are 23 and 20 yet she demanded an ID and refused to serve then a cocktail each as they did not have any ID with them. I also did not appreciate her heavily tattooed arm being pushed under my nose as she passed items down the table. Drinks were also slow in coming. When the bill came they had not deducted the £ 90 deposit we had paid. This was pointed out and another bill presented. My younger daughter also had to sign a form indemnifying them for the left over meat she was taking home for our dogs. I felt as if I was in Belarus rather than Beverley.
