The Hook of Garforth in Leeds

Primera vez bajo la nueva dirección y qué gran solla, mucho más que solo fish and chips, algo para todos los gustos. El pescado estaba excelente, cocinado justo y una porción de esos guisantes mushy debe ser puesto en un armario hermético con las joyas de la corona. En serio, aunque vale la pena una visita para juzgar por ti mismo, ya que los gustos de cada uno difieren, será nuestro chippy local a partir de ahora.

Una gran tienda de pescado y patatas fritas. Personal amable con todos los clientes. El pescado con papas fritas más delicioso que hemos probado localmente. Porciones de buen tamaño y cocinadas rápidamente a la orden. No puedo recomendarlos lo suficiente.

Tired and hungry on a Friday tea time, popped into The Hook of Garforth for a fish butty. Beautifully and freshly cooked large fish, gorgeous crisp batter, well worth a visit! Definitely is my new favourite fish & chip shop !

I used to use this fish and chip shop about 6 years ago as I worked local to it and when I was in the area recently I thought that I would treat myself to one of their fishcake butties. When I saw it was under new management I was a little disappointed but I can honestly say it was one of the best fishcakes Ive had in a long time if not THE BEST ever. I'll definitely be calling whenever I'm in the area

I had take out fish cakes chips curry, the fish cakes were made out of 1 thick slice potatoe that was undercooked and couldn't be eaten hardly any fish in and the thinner slice of potatoe that was edible, this is the worst fishcake ive ever had. I was a fryer myself so know what im on about

Excellent portion size and superb value for money. Fish was generous and cooked perfectly. Would certainly go again and recommend anyone who hasn’t yet tried since the takeover to give Hook of Garforth a go.

To be fair, the first visit was average, but the second was better. This place is improving. I have only tried the fish and chips. The chips have always been good and the fish was better second time. The batter was a bit thicker. I'd love to see a review on there kebabs.

Wow just had sausage and chips here massive portion shared as was enough for 2 lady really polite and friendly says under new management so people of garforth if was disappointed from before coke give it a go again as very nice good luck to you both in your new business will be back again thankyou

This fish and chip shop has recently been taken over so we thought we would give it a go. It has been refitted with a new range. The chips were great, the mushy peas were great but the fish needs some work! The fish batter was too thin, not fluffy at all, so much so they had to use two tongs to lift the fish - a well battered fish of this weight should be picked up as one. The batter is either too warm or old batter - either way you couldn’t taste it it was so thin - lovely if you want lightly battered though. If they could sort the batter out then it would score more. ‘Average’ sums it up.
