No longer serve food, but the pub is excellent, the landlord, staff are great and the customers are very friendly.

A lovely pub with a friendly atmosphere & welcoming regulars. Great choice of beers at the pumps at fair prices. There was an open Mic on when I went with some great local talent on which made my visit ! I'll certainly be going again soon.

Nice big local pub with a car park and a large outdoor seating area for those 🌞 sunny days, popped in for a pint of larger( decent San miguel) but didn't get time to try the pub menu - maybe next time, wacth this space 😀

I was waiting for my dad who was in whiston hospital over the road and the lady behind the bar was very polite and nice to talk to. The pub is very welcoming, clean and friendly and the pints are perfect. The pub also has parking at the back. I highly recommend this pub

We had a 70th birthday party there a couple of weeks ago singer very good. An free hotpot. Great night totally recommend it

Took my father in law out from the nursing home for lunch as it clearly advertises it serves food and has an extensive menu on line. However, very disappointed when we attempted access for wheelchair and then told that they’re not serving food. Very disappointing on a Saturday lunch time. I won’t attempt to go there again. They need to update their website if they are not currently serving food.

Popped in for a pint on a sunny afternoon and sat in the beer garden which is very nice and spacious, reasonably priced so will be back again.

Visited a few times recently and enjoyed. Nice sized beer garden with plenty of tables outside too. Staff friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. We will be back soon!

The staff here are so lovely and helpful. The beer prices are cheaper than other places. There is an accessible entrance but no accessable toilet.

We called here to kill some time waiting a hospital appointment..* so glad we did too. We sat outside on a lovely sunny afternoon..The lady who served us called Ann was so lovely & friendly it was such a pleasure to meet her ...nothing was too much trouble for her its nice to meet nice people.. please mention to her & appreciate her as a member of your staff.jackie & mark

Superb management, food and atmosphere

Klimatyczny pub, miły barman. Dobre i zimne piwo zwłaszcza Lager San Miquel. Byłem na Chrzcinach w tym lokalu, stół przekąsek dużo i nie do przejedzenia. Wszystko smaczne idealne do piwa. Na ścianach kilka TV akurat grał Liverpool vs Tottenham. Lokal czysty i bardzo przyjemny, duży parking przed budynkiem oraz ogródek zewnętrzny. SUPER

Came for a meal. It's lucky the food was great! The lady behind the bar black hair 'louise' I think her name was.. swearing non stop. Her phone is her priority I'd say over the customers. And she definitely prioritises regular customers over new people! Wasn't that busy I'd say for empty glasses to be left either. However the food came and it was amazing can tell whoever made it had pride in his job. And I'd of loved to say thank you in person for it.. for the food is come again! And hopefully attitudes will have changed too.

Customer service was shocking. The girl who took are order was constantly on her mobile. Was still on her mobile when she brought my colleagues lunch out. 20 minutes later, my food was on its way. Not before she dropped the burger on the floor because she was too busy talking to her friend on her mobile. All we got was “ s**t“ and then she walked off. Left the food on the floor and then came back 5 minutes later with my meal. Never said anything. Laughing on the phone to her friend whilst she plonked the food on the table and left. The most disgusting customer service I’ve experienced. It’s a shame because the food was okay! Customer service takes a company a long way and clearly she was more bothered about sending texts and talking on the phone than to serve customers. If it was up to me, she would be straight out. Disgusting !! She needs talking too! Long brown hair. Medium build snotty attitude.

This appears to be a local pub with pretty decent food. It has a pleasant outside area and a decent size car park.

Great beer garden and nice food

Meals took 1hr 10 mins to come from ordering to the last person being served . Only 7 of us in group. Last person served, meal was cold. No one actually ate at the same time due to each meal coming out individually. Felt sorry for the bar man who was doubling as the waiter. Very disappointing visit.

7 of us Arrived at 12.10 Ordered food between 12.35 Everyone ordered fish and chips 1st meal arrived at 13.00 Last meal arrived at 13.40 fish was cold , at this point couldn’t be bothered to complain as we needed to go We came because it stated it was quiet at this period ( there was only 6 people In When we arrived) Poor service however the bar attendant was pleasant but looked over worked due to him being on his own running from kitchen to bar

Great food, got a deal for soup & small plate meal, I had lek soup, followed by gammon & chips with egg, it's a Wednesday & Thursday offer for £5, good deal, and very prompt service. Would thoroughly recommend The Holt

Superb place, first time I visited, if I wasn't poor I'd be in there every day.

Ordered fish and chips took 50min to get food absolutely 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

We visited with friends on a Monday late afternoon. We ordered main meals from the menu and waited and waited and waited. Eventually, one meal arrived followed five minutes later by another. The other two meals arrived over the next 15 minutes meaning that we were all eating at different times. We then ordered three puddings and again a wait of half an hour when only two puddings arrived! By this time we gave up. The food was OK but we certainly wouldn’t rush back.

Waited 1 hour for our meal which still never turned up. My husband asked the one and only staff when was are meal coming. She said that she would check. fifteen minutes later we asked for our money back, no one came over to tell us. The girl was rushed off her feet. No tables had been cleaned I noticed when entering, after one hour they still weren’t cleaned. The girl said that my husband had shouted at her, which he didn’t. Then I asked for our money back, she said she didn’t like my attitude. I did notice 2 lads wearing black looking out the kitchen, but still no food. She then started shaking and crying, rang the manager and gave the phone to me. The woman on the end of the phone started shouting, it was like the Jeremy Kyle show. I tried to explain to her that the poor girl was on her own and that there was at least 15 men at the bar being served. The girl said ‘don’t come back here your not getting served. We said don’t worry we won’t. The manager I think turned up and shouted ‘just give them their money back’. Really bad customer service. The customers at the bar were all men, not a meal in site so obvious that serving pints was more important. We chose this pub because of the new menu. But never got to try it. Would never go there again. Worst run pub ever

Extremely disappointed with this pub ,went with my family for a birthday celebration ,when we arrived there was nothing on the menu,everything we asked for they didn't have ,also it didn't feel like a very family friendly pub ,will not be going again.

Sat in beer garden for a few drinks over the Easter bank hol as the weather was lovely decided to order some food for lunch and couldn’t complain! Onion rings are amazing and food was delicious 👍🏽

Been a local of mine for many years. Always a fab atmosphere and the friendliest people in there. Never a dull night, always the best entertainment and the nicest owners. Reasonably priced too. Food is also spot on. Best pub around by far. Can always Catch me performing there on Friday night's too.

Good cheap lunch. Vegetarian section a bit limited but the nacho burger was OK. My wife enjoyed her steak. It was quiet at lunchtime but can get noisy in the evening.

Lovely place and very child friendly! I personally had some time to kill after a hospital visit to whiston hospital. Notice the place looked lovely on the outside, tables both outside (at the rear) and inside. Decided to walk there and kill some time. Ordered a starter and a main, both very quick to the table(seriously quick)... Very astute staff, lovely food and a great atmosphere!! Highly recommend for a poin or two or when going for a meal with the family. Lovely place, if I'm here again I'll certainly come!

The Holt is very clean and tidy, well done. Plenty of staff and a very good beer garden. Our meals well presented, hot and tasty. I had the meat pie. Cask ales weren't on offer as the pub ran out yesterday. A very good pub lunch.

when we arrived and parked the car, we entertered the holt for the first time,,the place was empty apart from the staff and us two,, however the barman was very helpful and friendly told us to take a seat and check the menu.. we found the menu a bit limited and maybe should be extended but of course that depends on the clientele and how much stock can be carried,,,, the holt itself was absolutely spotlessly clean all the staff were very helpful and chatty,,, i couldnt rate it for special occasions due to the menu but i would visit again

So having moved into the area 1 year ago I was wondering were to drink having visiting the holt and seen they do NHS discount I thought that is very nice of them giving back to the people that work for the NHS and the management was great. Then the management changed and I thought us that work for the NHS would loose r privilege of the NHS discount but nope it was still on going. been a regular as I would call myself after going in there after work and a Friday and getting to know the regulars I liked my time in there until tonight when I when in there presented my nhs card and was told it was no longer also they only had notes and not much change so had to pay on my card hopefully it goes back to the way it was in the past couple of weeks and I visit there again

Good value menu. Presentation of the food was excellent and the steak was one of the best I have had. The starters are good also. The place is quiet and the decor is nice. The Sunday Lunch was disappointing and seemed to consist of frozen vegatable and frozen roast potatoes. It was not up to the standard of the rest of the menu.

We have eaten at the Holt a few times since it reopened and the food was good and excellent value, popped in just for drinks during Xmas and it was a good atmosphere with a good selection of Gins to pick from. Well done everyone you have turned a tired pub into a fresh and vibrant establishment and I look forward to summer evenings in the new near garden.

I have been in a few times and the staff are always very friendly. I believe the original manager when the pub reopened that caused a few problems has left now. Always a decent pint and if you like basic pub food then it is great. If you want a restaurant at pub prices then you will not get it. You pay for what you get. I've never been disappointed.

Tried here last week was quite impressed meals on two for £12 was fine good pub grub all been refurbished inside and out not been here for ten years and was happy we tried it clean tidy good beers on offer will go again and again might be our new local

Went with a friend on tues 5 aug from for tea. Ordered the grilled salmon fillet from the 2 for £12 menu only to be told the salmon was not included in the offer and the fact that it was on the menu was a mistake! Went for the cannelloni to be told there was none left. Ordered chicken tikka massala with rice and naan bread. Meal came out with half rice and half chips and they had no naan bread. Not impressed.

Went for a drink and something to eat. Went to order Nachos with chilli beef... No chilli beef! Ok I'll just have a couple of packets of crisps... We've only got one packet left!!! Really? Shame it looks amazing with the refurb and drinks are good

Been a few times after work always been good went on Wednesday with my sister and the grandkids we were made very welcome had fish and chips batter wasn't very good but fish inside was lovely my sisters steak sandwich was gorgeous she said it's a lovely friendly pub right on my doorstep and been refurbished very well

This is purely based on two visits about 8 weeks apart the most recent being this afternoon, and purely as a pub as we haven't yet tried the food. On the whole the Holt since it's revamp is much improved , pretty good beer select and reasonably priced. I must admit person would have liked the pool table to remain but it's not a deal breaker. On both occasions the staff have been great and have made sure vacated tables get cleaned away quickly. Is it perfect ? Of course not but they're making a damn fine effort of it as a pub worth visiting. No idea about the food yet but the menu isn't a book so hopefully that means they're not stretching themselves and care about quality. We've been twice for a mid afternoon drink or two separated by a couple of months and both times the place was spotless and we wouldn't have any hesitation to return.

Walked in sat down went to order , waiting 15 mins as the barman I take was the owner , said to other people was on his own , ok thought was bad for Sunday but what found disgusting was even after 15 min of waiting , he served people who knew on his side of bar with no acknowledgement, wouldn't go again rude bad atmosphere and went somewhere else to spend £80 on a meal
