Busy local pub with reliable food quality and outstanding craft real ale beers. Parking on site or plenty across the road. Tables are mostly kept clean. Using the app to order is amazing, drinks especially appear at your table lightning quick. This pub is popular locally and gets really busy. Thank you to wetherspoons for responsible pricing and attention to detail. And thank you to the staff which make this pub great to visit every time.

Great value pub with friendly bar staff. Park elsewhere as car park is tiny and regulars park outside the marked spots so if you’re not confident in tight spaces park in the village or elsewhere. As a pub, good prices with quick friendly service is all we needed.

Family arrived to celebrate my elderly Aunts birthday. All tables we had were pushed together. All with glass / cup ring marks, tables were sticky and dirty. When I approached staff member, I was handed a antibac spray and a cloth to wipe them myself. I was not happy so the staff member just gave a few sprays, wiped the tables and left. All menu's dirty with brown sticky marks. I ordered steak & kidney pudding, mash and peas. Mash wash a blob of instant packet mash that had been flattened down leaving fork marks. Crust was hard and peas were cold. I did complain and was given chips with a reheated pie and peas. Place was filthy, food was disgusting, staff not very happy when you disturbed their conversations asking for help. Aunt was 89 so travelling elsewhere was not possible at the time. I would have gladly gone somewhere else. Will never go there again, breeding ground for bacteria.

Barkers Brewery on Archway Road, Huyton, Liverpool, is a pub with a significant historical background. Originally, this location was home to Barker’s Brewery, founded in 1825. The brewery continued operations until it was acquired by Walker's in 1926. Before becoming a JD Wetherspoon pub, the site was known as the Wheatsheaf and earlier, the Rose and Crown. The current pub takes its name from the original brewery, maintaining a connection to its historical roots. The building itself is notable for its large, modern décor with multiple seating areas and a beer garden, making it a popular choice for locals and visitors alike. The staff are friendly and welcoming with comfortable seating to perch & enjoy the ambience making it a great spot to relax & unwind with a pint or two. The pub's staff are noted for their warm and polite service, enhancing the overall experience. The seating is comfortable, allowing patrons to enjoy the ambience while sipping on their drinks. One of the highlights is the breakfast, which is both good value and well-prepared. It is served with a smile, adding a personal touch to the dining experience. Whether you're there for a morning meal or an evening pint, this pub ensures a pleasant visit. If you're in Huyton and looking for a welcoming pub with great value and friendly service, I highly recommend visiting this pub which offers a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. The staff are known for their warmth and politeness, ensuring you feel right at home. Whether you're starting your day or winding down in the evening, Barkers Brewery is an excellent choice for a pleasant time. Here, you can unwind and enjoy a varied selection of brews, a welcoming atmosphere, and top-notch service that consistently receives rave reviews from patrons.

Food got sent back as I showed the waiter that someone had clearly already started eating my steak and when he brought me a new one out 20 minutes later after all my family had finnished their dinners he said the chef said there was nothing wrong with the steak. No apologies from waiter or chef either. the fresh dinner they brought out i couldnt even eat as I was still disgusted to think someone preparing the food might of had a bite or done something to the food. I was out cycling and had one of those ‘Oh my God, I’ve got to eat NOW!’ moments. Pulled into the Barkers about 14:00 on a Tuesday afternoon and locked my bike to an outside table. I ordered Fish, Chips & Mushy Peas, a couple of slices of bread and a drink. I was ordering on the app and I couldn’t see the number of my table so I put the number as 500. I realised that may cause a little bewilderment at the bar so, not wanting to leave my bike unattended, I phoned to explain. The lady that answered the phone politely assured me that the serving staff would find me. I popped in quickly anyway and had a word with a very friendly member of staff to let them know I was outside. As I went back out to my table, I saw a staff member asking other customers if they’d made an order to table 500. “That was me.” I told her, and we had a little laugh about it. As soon as I’d sat down, the guy I’d spoken to inside came out with my drink. A cold bottle of alcohol free cider and a glass with ice. I didn’t want the glass but it was there if I had have wanted it. A few minutes later a lady came out with my meal. She brought with it, cutlery, sachets of salt, tartare sauce and a bottle of vinegar. The Meal: The fish was good. Crispy batter, not too oily. Reasonable quality fish used. Firm and flaky. Better battered fish than you get from most of the chippys around here to be quite honest. There was a nice looking wedge of lemon on the side. The chips were the standard fare ‘Spoons job. Pretty decent, up to scratch. Definitely good enough. Mushy peas were a bit of a splat on the plate but I’m used to that and they certainly tasted very nice. Maybe they could do with being served in a little ramekin or something but that’s just me being a bit picky. The two slices of white bread were served on a separate plate with two catering style single serving Lurpak butters. Quite good quality bread, reasonably fresh tasting. Half way through my meal, the lady that had brought it out to me was out clearing tables. She asked me if I was enjoying my fish. I gave her a thumbs up coz my mouth was full of fish! I was very much enjoying my fish, it was lovely. Just what I needed. In summary: Food - Good Value - Very Good Service - Excellent Cheers guys, keep it up.

I think the staff in this place need to learn a few lessons in manners, especially the young blonde haired girl with bunches in, she has an attitude problem & needs to grow up, she accuses people of stirring at her & then tells them at the bar when they order drinks, when no one in the pub anywhere was even looking at her, just as if anyone would be interested in her, when there is fine drinking to do, if she carries on like that she will be sacked within a year, with people complaining about her.

Like all Wetherspoons initial investment in decor then decline and decay. Also no beer mats so tables are sticky. Pitiful food. Paid £10 for a "winner winner chicken dinner" but let me tell you this was no winner. Infact it didn't even start the race. It had a very small piece of chicken breast that was burnt and was very dry , a massive slab of mash that was very dry, a couple of dried out burnt carrot pieces and some rock hard peas , no roast potatoes or nothing. A under cooked stuffing ball that looked as anemic as I do. Mixed grill my partner ordered the meat was overcook and tough, it would have knocked Mike Tyson out with one slap. I've had better quality food at MC Donald's on a bad day. I would not go again. I gave 1 star because the staff were very welcoming and friendly.

My twin brother and I were having a meet up with friends in Kirkby Town Centre, we drifted from The Market Tavern to The Brambles Pub were we continued our day out socialising. A good pub, interior is nice ,a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, pubby decor and furnishings, pool table, big screens to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, its just a proper little locals pub. We enjoyed pints of guinness in here and lagers plus some vodka and cokes ,atmosphere was good ,staff on top form and all in all a really good visit, spent a good few hours here . We really enjoyed our visit here before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Brambles Pub is easy to locate along Cherryfield Drive in Kirkby Town Centre. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, open from midday. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.
