I was surprised... nice food and and all round nice pub/place to enjoy a meal.

Nice cosy place with lots of places to sit. Staff were extremely friendly and local. Food delivered quick and as ordered (no peas). Not expensive but still nice quality food and drink. Highly recommend 🤗

And please don't get confused with the Clock Face pub in Clock Face Sunny St Helens that might be good as well ive just never been to it so he we go about the other Clock Face, This is the one in Prescot and it is lovely, the food is excellent the decor is brilliant and the staff are lovely, and the service was fantastic, just wish I'd took some pics of the decor it's lovely 😍

We booked here for a birthday meal. On arrival we waited around 5 minutes to be seated and were promised menus. We were then seated at the most elegant yet filthy table from which it was evident that the previous diners had been quite liberal with the brown sauce. We were waiting over 20 minutes but no menus arrived. We ordered at the bar and our food arrived within 15 minutes. The scampi was soggy and undercooked but everything else on the main courses was okay. There was nothing that wowed any of us, though. We hoped the cherry pie might save this! It arrived warm which is always a good start but also soggy and overcooked to the point it was chewy. By this time we were sat amongst a growing number of other angry diners who had been served food without cutlery/condiments/napkins or had waited over 30 minutes for food so we just wanted out and left. This used to be a great pub for family meals but the basics seem to need more attention from Karen and her team before it can get back to where it once was. I wish them all the best with that and we will return. We haven't given up on you and know you can smash it!

Food was great the atmosphere really good

Not been here for a while decided to pop in for a Sunday roast , quick service friendly staff delicious food and a really good expresso martini.

I performed here as I am a musician. Friendly, professional, courteous service!

Got a roast that consisted of 4 roasties, a Yorkshire pudding and 3 slices of gammon that were wafer thin. When the plate first arrived half the plate was empty, then the luke warm veg arrived. Roasties were cold, so we sent them back. When the plates were returned to the table, we only had two roasties instead of the four we had to begin with, which was bad enough. Cheesecakes were nice enough but tiny portions. Spent around £30 per person and went home hungry. They also ran out of the premium brandy which for a pub is ridiculous.

Nice staff and environment had steak deal after 5pm cooked exactly how we ordered them.

Had breakfast, which was only OK. Tea & coffee were lukewarm at best.

Walked in and was acknowledged by the bar member who told me she would be with me a minute ... she then proceeded to serve a couple who had walked in after me ... I run a pub myself ... this would never happen ... I walked out.

Great food, service was excellent from all staff, the room was very clean and well stocked with tea/ coffee etc. unlike most places

Came last week for a Sunday dinner and enjoyed it that much came back again today. Really good amount of food and the spuds don't taste crap like in some places. Staff are nice and good prices for what you get.

Good for food, but like a lot of pubs now, concentrate on food serving rather than a pub just to have a meet up and brink.

just popped in for tea, the pub is lovely and our food was gorgeous. the young lady who brought our food was really nice but neither of us had any cash on us to tip her, felt bad about that.

We went mid afternoon. It's a nice and relaxing environment with modern décor. We chose not to eat there as the people on the table next got a pizza which looked like one you would get from a supermarket, yet they charged £13 for it. Even for a pub that seemed excessive!

Lovely pub very friendly staff and excellent food

We've popped into the Clockface for lunch twice in the past month and have been really happy both times. The staff are happy and friendly, polite and give good service. The food is good, simple dishes prepared in good time and served in quiet, pleasant surroundings. We've never been, because we don't live locally, but they advertise a Friday night steak night which is extremely good value £35 for steak dinner for two with a bottle of wine. £17.50 a head for steak and half a bottle of wine each sounds unbeatable.

Not cheap but the place is clean and staff smile .food is good but on the high side for price....will go back again soon

Lovely traditional sandstone pub, with a beautiful interior. Warm and welcoming staff, good selection of beers, plus real ale (Thwaites) available. Food available, which is well priced and tasty. Plenty of parking available, and walking distance to the recently opened Shakespeare theatre.

After a day at Knowsley safari Park, myself and my 2 children needed a quick meal. We found the clock face pub 2 minutes away. The atmosphere was great and the staff are incredibly friendly. Food was nice, nothing amazing but filled a hole. Would go back again just for the atmosphere and the place itself is beautiful. Thanks guys!

Abysmal! Disorganised! A very defensive and unprofessional pub manager who really doesn't understand what good customer service/experience looks like. Waited 40 minutes for food to arrive - 3 meals came then waited another 10 minutes for another 4 meals. One child waited 1 HOUR for a scrappy pizza and chips. Would find better service, food and value at any Weatherspoons. Will not be returning.

Hi ,we were at the clock face at 17.00 on 25/1/2024 for a relatives 40th birthday get together meal. I just thought I would I would put a review on of the staff ,service and food was great ,It was great to see everyone and we had a great time all was good ,the only downsize was we were a bit cramped in but there was 16 of us with 2 young kids ,who were great tonight.. but we made the best of it and no one complained and got on with it, infact it brought us together . So a big shout out to two names Jane and Danielle and all staff helped the night go well. So people are quick to put on bad reviews but this was great review to be put on . So all in all we will return again in the near future . Thanks again Jimmy Taylor.

Just called in to get some lunch had two lovely meals which were the small roast and fish both were lovely the beef cut was large and thick , if I was fusy would have served on a larger plate, staff so helpful and polite especially member off staff who took the order, also requested more gravy from member of staff who served , she was more than happy to return to our table within a minute or so with a gravy bowl. Only complaint was hearing didn't appear to be on but soon warmed up with drinks and food.

Meal was quite dry and not that hot. Pricey for what it was. Staff friendly and attentive. Nice place. Clean.

Such a great comfterble place to eat and drink

Very impressed with the professional manner of the staff it was the first thing I noticed,The pub itself was immaculate nicely decorated. Only had drinks not tryed the food yet ,Will be popping again family friendly too .

Ordered our drinks and food, waited half an hour for the drinks (they forgot) another half an hour before food arrived. Didn't know what the soup was.. And my panini was cold... Would not recommend

We went for breakfast for the first time this morning. Great value for £, locally sourced produce. Extremely friendly staff and dog friendly too. We shall be back 😀

Lovely place but very limited gluten free options on the day we visited, however that said they did do some lovely GF fish for me.

So disappointed with the baby shower we held here on Friday November 24th. My family and myself are all frequent users of this pub for various occasions as in birthdays, a funeral wake and general coffee meet ups. Never experienced a problem but on this occasion I don’t think the pub should have accepted a booking for 15 ladies to share afternoon teas and drinks for my daughter’s baby shower. We booked the room for 5pm but even before my daughter had arrived( as it was a surprise) the staff started carrying the food in! I asked them if they could hang on until she came through the door but the lady said that as the kitchen was small and that people were waiting for their food they had to choice but to start serving.. we had barely sat down! She even pointed me in the direction of the customers waiting who all glared at me as if it was my fault . I had to give in and let them serve as my daughter was running 15 minutes late and I felt under pressure.. then the alcohol free Prosecco I was told hadn’t been ordered by the make manager who assured me he could supply this.. it miraculously appeared though 20 minutes later! They said he had to go down to get it .. we paid £15.99 a head just for the food but felt that we were a complete inconvenience..one of the staff came in with bin bags before we had left the room and said to one of my friends’ are you going to help us clean up’! Very very disappointed.. staff appeared rude and fed up and the room was not even set for the event so we had to arrange the furniture ourselves. Some of the even said later that the sandwiches were very dry as if they had been left uncovered for hours. Very unhappy the way we were treated and I was embarrassed and felt I couldn’t speak out too much as this was a long awaited event.

Discovered this jewel when visiting family in Prescott. Friendly welcoming staff and excellent room, comfy bed and powerful shower. Will certainly be using again.

Went for a murder mystery night, which included food and some drink they came up with for the occasion. While the murder mystery bit went ok, my wife had a bit of an allergic reaction to the drink resulting in a flare up and discomfort (cheap alcohol has that effect on her unfortunately, ultimately my fault I suppose). The food, sadly, didn't really make us want to come back - it was supposed to be hot but wasn't, the service seemed a bit unhinged considering they knew how many tables they had to serve, and it was all "hot and spicy" which isn't to everyone's taste.

Try to go every Sunday now when if I'm off work for our Dinner. Gorgeous Sunday roast, never had a bad 1 yet. Staff are absolutely Fab make you feel so welcome. Would highly recommend. Well Done Guys. Keep up your excellent work

Was tasty but was very disappointing. Thought it was a child's portion . So asked staff if my order was a mistake the young girl thought it was funny & walked away . Ordered the Sunday lunch . One at £9.95 or £14.95 so ordered £9.95 as I didn't want a massive portion but this was a joke. Asked were the veg was . Waited 10 minutes to get it on a separate plate . Definitely frozen & microwaved. Young girl come over and asked was everything OK with our meals . So my reply was not really this is more for a child and she said " oh really sorry about how you feel " laughed and walked away . We had one drinking our glasses were empty . Husband went bar and nevergot served as staff were talking so never bothered ordering

I LOVE our Wine Tasting evenings at The Clock. Bacchus Wine Tasting has been hosting regular wine tasting events at The Clock for well over a year now and the Prescot crowd are always up for a good time! I’m always super-impressed by the quality of the food pairings the fab kitchen team put together too-DELICIOUS! Always a fab time and I look forward to future events. Johnathan 💁🏼‍♂️🍷

Visiting from New Zealand and were taken to the Clock Face by a local friend. Atmosphere, food and drink all great. Just make sure you are hungry if you have the fish and chips

First visit to this pub. Had Sunday lunch as a large family group spent close to £300 as a group. Decor is nice, looks to have been recently refurbished. Surprised that they do not offer table service as standard we hen this is norm in most pubs for Sunday lunch. They offer standard Sunday lunch £15, small £10. We were told the only difference is standard comes with choice of three meats small only one meat. My sister in law ordered small beef which came as expected with one piece beef, My brother ordered standard and asked for two beef and one turkey but only came with one beef and one turkey. I ordered all lamb and it came with one piece of lamb. Queried whether they’d given me a small by mistake but told no that’s regular. Mine look like a child’s portion! At £15 that’s top end of roast dinner prices for the area but the quality was mediocre and really small portions. Given the portions were so small, several of us ordered a dessert. My bread and butter pudding came and it again was a tiny portion- it looked like a cookie it was so small on the plate, with a jug of custard so small, it resembled an egg cup. My partner ordered sticky toffee pudding and when it was brought out by the waitress, she said jam sponge (which wasn’t even on the menu) and when we replied we haven’t ordered jam sponge she said it’s some type of sponge has anyone ordered some type of sponge. Doesn’t exactly show knowledge of the menu or particularly high level of service.

Couldn't fault anything today at all. The food was delicious as always the staff friendly and efficient and the new accommodation looks beautiful those rooms are lovely for anyone staying in the area would certainly recommend The Clock Face a beautiful building with a lovely atmosphere its always a pleasure to visit....thankyou !

Got a little mixed up with our order and didn't deliver half the food until we had eaten the first part.

Absolutely amazing meal . Fro b big greeted as we entered the building and being seated we where met with a cheery greeting and informed of the specials . Food was outstanding. The decor is very in keeping to the building and music being played in the background. We asked about the bedrooms and was enthusiastically shown around the rooms. You could see from the decor and the passion from the assistant manager Kate who was showing us around how proud she was of the premises. Staff where very attentive to all guests . We met the owner Karen and again the pride and passion in he establishment was evident . Will be definitely returning

Delicious Sunday dinner, great portion's and great staff

The Clock face has 3 bedrooms for bed and breakfast. We stayed overnight which was really welcoming rooms are superb and super clean I understand it has recently undergone renovation which has been done with great taste. A little gem and we will certainly stay there again when we are in the area. Breakfast was delicious Staff very friendly and welcoming

Went yesterday with my daughter had jacket potatoe there was actually 2 potatoes couldn't finish it felt embarrassed in case they were offended cause it was delicious but too much for us the staff were lovely especially the manageress really friendly and attentive even though it was busy day with a funeral she still had time to make us feel at home will definitely be back soon

Wow well what can we say !!!! From the minute we arrived the atmosphere and the service , excellent food was just amazing this is a hidden gem. I had the steak pie and omg I felt as if I was a child back home and my mother had made the pie I was blown away it was amazing thank you so much. The service again she was very pleasant and helpful, friendly. Then we had a thunderstorm and as I was waiting at the entrance to get in the car the gentleman came out with an umbrella to take me to the car wow now that is outstanding service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ thank you so much

Staff are totally amazing and nothing is too much trouble for them. This place is child friendly and dog friendly with a welcome bowl of water brought to our table for our dog on seating. The food was delicious snd excellent value for money and portion size perfect for hungry appetites. Car park ample size with some outdoor seating for the warmer days and nights. Highly recommended

Food not great here, but staff are very good, and its a lovely visual and well decorated pub. Im a chef so i have higher food tastes. But we go shopping in Prescot ,so we usually pop in here for lunch. Its home cooked food too. I have 3 allergins , that limit my choice, so im sure other people would like the food.

Recomended by a guy who I know who works there, lovely decor etc, I ordered some food that ended up going to the wrong table of which I'd spotted but they accepted it for some strange reason !, so I presumed they'd just ordered the same, having waited a good while longer I went up for another round of drinks only to hear a lady from that table telling staff members about the wasted food going cold at their table no 34, as a returned the waitress was bringing it over and unloading it at our table having been at table 34 for a good 20 minutes . Obviously I refused and she suggested she'd take it back and re heat it which I also refused, I asked can you make fresh food please but having taken note of the arranged food knew turning back up 5 minutes later that it was the same food microwaved . Poor service in my opinion which ruined my visit there at the clock face

Absolutely lovely visit to the Clock face. First time visiting and won't be the last. Lovely and helpful staff and nice cosy atmosphere. Had paté to start which was delicious, and some garlic ciabatta to share which was divine. I chose the large roast off the specials board which was lamb, it came with all the trimmings and gravy. It was very tasty. The wine was nice as well. Everything was good and we look forward to returning! Reasonable and fair pricing too! Which is always a bonus :)

It was OK. Good service and reasonable food. Great location and a lovely space inside. My friend raved about the place and it didn't warrant that in my opinion but its a decent choice.

Wetherspoons food at premium prices. Service really poor - have to order food at the bar which took an age. The place was clearly understaffed and the staff looked drained and not interested. When you’re paying nearly £20 for a meal I’d expect to be served. Also, it’s the little things like getting sauces in sachets which you can’t open. I’d expect that in the Wetherspoons for half the price.

Before booking a table we asked about the wheelchair access. The staff there is a ramp at the front door and a disabled toilet. There is no ramp and the disabled toilet is difficult to get to in wheelchair and so small we could not close the door with the wheelchair inside.

Great place staff lovely food really nice and they allow dogs so if you are a dog owner it's great

Went here last week for a roast was recommended by a friend a few months ago so thought I’d try it , well they had changed the menu my roast was vile veg was under cooked and like bullets I was giving 2 small roast potatoes, not worth the money don’t bother going if you want a nice roast to fill you up👎

Turned up without booking, they managed to squeeze us in as long as we were not wanting to linger too long, this was fine. Steak pudding was fabulous and the chicken burger was huge and very good value. 👍

We called in here today for lunch for the first time in a few years. So nice to see this fine old pub up and running again, It is an important part of local history. A funeral party had just arrived and we thought there may be a long wait, not so. Our service was prompt and friendly,the quality of the food was excellent and we will be calling here again very soon.
