Nice pub with an excellent Sunday roast. Close to the Avon valley after a day out on the trains

Visit with caution. Made to pay for a meal I couldn’t eat. Chose a meal, asked for no sauce as I was dairy free, they didn’ say there was a dairy free option but decided to put it on my meal. I I’d said no sauce as it’s just easier and what I wanted. The chef decided they knew better and that I can have dairy free option without talking to me. I wanted it plain as I have other allergies and it’s easier for me. They couldn’t remember be saying I wanted no sauce, but remember I wanted dairy free…. But surely they should ask if I wanted a dairy free option. I was maid to pay for the meal, then when I called, Chris the manager hung up. On another note ti show that they don’t listen, had to say twice I didn’t want ice, we were asked if wanted a half or a pint. Said half, pint was brought over. I didn’t have anything else, but wondering if I did I’d of had to pay for two meals. I’m sure they could do better, just choosing not to and blaming customers for their inability to remember orders, and then decide what they think the customer should have.

I absolutely love this pub's Sunday roasts. They are to die for. Today's chicken roast was cooked absolutely perfectly. The chicken was moist, came apart well, the seasonings are delightful and the veg to go with it still had that nice fresh veg crunch to it. Also, they have a bearded dragon so that's kinda cool.

Food was delicious. Had Sunday roast. Delicious. Veg especially cooked to perfection. Don't normally have a dessert but was tempted and again very impressed.

Been here a lot over the past few years, never had anything but a good experience, always good food, good service and always feel welcome. On this occasion there was some jealousy amongst the children due to their pudding choice but some additional marshmallows were offered which was really helpful and quickly calmed them, this was really appreciated.

Okay food. Reasonably priced. Only ate half and asked for remaining to be put in tuberware but they didn't add my left over gravy

Stopped in here today for Sunday lunch with my mum. We didn't have a reservation but staff made room for us in the bar area. Service was really good throughout. The food though was outstanding especially for the price. Also nice to see the different craft ales and ciders on offer. I would definitely recommend.

Lovely food and great gluten free menu. The strawberry and white chocolate cheesecake is amazing and also gluten free! Friendly and welcoming staff and atmosphere.

Visited in a fairly large group (8) on a Friday evening, so prebooked which turned out to be useful as it was very busy/popular. The beef pie was incredible, so much filling, rich in flavour, accompanied with crunchy chips and some veggies, and a rich gravy. The specials dessert of blueberry and dark chocolate cheesecake was also great, and the portion of both was generous. The liber and mash another member of the group had was also amazing. Others had a mix of the nibbles/small bites which were a bit variable with some being much better that others. Service was friendly however there was some miscommunication on detail of one of the desserts. Would 100% visit again for the beef pie alone.

A lovely Sunday roast, 13 of us and everyone was served well with everything hot..nothing was too much trouble..Well worth a visit.

Excellent food here. Had a small portion of Fish & (real) chips & was enough for me. The Strawberry & white chocolate Cheesecake is just to die for. Highly recommend this pub. Best to book for evenings/wknds.

Lovely cosy friendly little pub with a good restaurant attached . The staff are super lovely. Got chatting to the manager about kids and music and felt really welcomed with our one year old. Great selection of craft beer too. ☺️ 🍺

First, I had to wait for the bar staff to finish their conversation with their friends whilst looking on their phones before I was able to be served. Then second, we didn’t get a call for last orders and they stopped serving drinks at 8pm on a Sunday. I was informed by bar staff “that’s how it is now”.

My meal was disappointing had the chicken and coriander tagliatelle special,which was obviously the last of the batch as they rubbed it off after I ordered, very dry with chicken followed on top, not like the first time I had it which was in a lovely creamy sauce, garlic flat bread not cooked through. Hubby enjoyed his meal, ham , egg and chips, can't fault the service

Went here last minute! I've never been in this pub before what a great surprise it was too, lovely food fantastic service and all the staff were friendly and helpful well worth a visit

Fabulous food and the Sunday roast is definitely a must try. Great atmosphere, very attentive staff and I thoroughly enjoyed their Sunday roast. A small area of improvement would be the roast potato - not as soft and fluffy as I’d expect it to be but it was a very enjoyable dining experience regardless. Would happily return again!

Absolutely lovely food and we would return for this reason however the service was a little off. Our order was wrong, which happens and was rectified well but we ordered another drink after lunch and we were told that we needed to vacate the table so we asked for the bill yet no other people arrived. Our lift arrived and borrowed a chair from the vacant table of four chairs behind. He bought a pint and was then asked by a waitress if he had ‘nicked a chair’ from the table behind. He said that he had borrowed it but obviously, when the other table arrived he would replace it. Our lift replaced the chair and got a stool from the bar. We stayed for another 40 minutes during which time the table behind was just a table of 2 that didn’t need the ‘nicked chair’ anyway??? Also no one arrived to claim the table that we were asked to vacate. Disappointing having spent £200 and made to feel that we were responsible for the ordering error and also for out staying our welcome.

Had a quick meal here before heading to the cinema. Really lovely atmosphere, clearly a popular pub. Excellent choice of local beers too. My husband wasn’t overly impressed with his meat balls, but my burger was great, and was pleased to get a gluten free bun! Will be back!

Not been for a while, but stopped off for a late night pint. very impressed with the beers on offer, 8 craft beers. The wiper and true was great.

Staff excellent. Food was poor has to be worst garlic bread I have ever had meatballs were dry as was the pasta very disappointing, also 3 out of the four of us who had food said it was poor.

Just returned from a Christmas meal with friends @£35 each. Their starter was missing sourdough bread:their main was missing a vegan Yorkshire pudding; their pudding- they were told no vegan ice cream would sorbet do? then some ice cream was found?! After complaining we got £20 off drinks but it still doesn’t really make up for the fact each course was missing something.

Genuinely a lovely atmosphere, with great service and tasty food! The pie is deceptively filling, and the gravy is yummy! (Thank you for the extra). We will definitely be back!

Found this place by accident. If I lived closer I would be there all the time, fabulous food, good atmosphere but the staff were superb, they all seemed to really care and were exceptional. It's how a pub should be. Good food, loved the smaller portions too. Just about perfect. Will be back as often as I can. Would give 6 stars if I could.

We had a lovely meal here. The bar was busy, the restaurant area almost full, and on a Monday night. This says a lot for the pub and its food. The staff were great too.

Smashing food plenty of beers to choose from.

The food is delicious! We ordered Sunday lunch and it was absolutely lovely. Couldn’t fault it. The place was packed and we felt crammed in with a very loud female on the corner table screaming constantly in laughter, but it’s a small place and popular so you have to accept that. The young girl that served us was polite and friendly but once our food was served she did not come back over to check to see if we were happy. What spoilt the experience for us was that when we had the bill it showed an extra £4 on it. We queried this as the 2 roasts we ordered were £16 each and already listed on the bill. The young girl that brought us the bill, which was different from the one that had served us, didn’t really know what the answer was other than to say that chicken is expensive!! This confused us further as the chicken roast prices were listed on the menu as £16 each and that’s what we thought we were paying?! She then said she would go and ask somebody else and came back to say there was a glitch and she would take £2 off. Again we queried this as to why £2 and why not the whole £4? She went away again and came back and said oh no, it’s fine, you don’t have to pay it, and said it was something to do with the online menu being £4 more! We checked online on the way home, and it wasn’t. So it was all very confusing!! Good job we noticed, I wonder how many others didn’t?? I would really love a response from the pub about this to be honest!

Nice pub, great food, good drinks selection. 6 of us had carvery Sunday lunch and no one was disappointed. Good size beer garden too when its sunny.

Went on a week day lunch time, very quiet which is a shame as the food is amazing! Anyway that probably helped us get then5* service we got so I am not complaining! Clean restaurant bar and toilets, a lovely pub dog and good food choices and an extremely helpful and friendly barman! I have already booked to go back for a Sunday roast and I have high hopes!

A lovely atmosphere, higher end.for dining. Simple menu and mostly around £16 after 5pm. Can do tapas though for £4 a dish or £15 for 4 dishes. My food (ham, egg and chips) tasted delicious, and excellent staff. Very friendly.

The Hollybush is well worth a visit. It can be very popular and booking is advised at weekends. The car park does get full. There ISAs much outside as inside seating. Outside seemed to be mainly drinkers The standard menu is very good, but do take the time to check out the specials. I had the smoked trout with crushed potatoes, mint & capers. The preparation and taste were really good. My only criticism is the lack of vegetables. The special dessert was a raspberry and dark chocolate cheesecake with Marshfield Farm ice cream. Definitely recommended!

Excellent roast dinner and the dining room was lovely. A very small problem with someone else's wine on our bill but it was rectified really quickly. Unfortunately the cheesecake we were looking forward to, and had heard so much about, was a very unique texture and taste wasn't a repeat request for any of us but some others seemed to enjoy it. All in all really nice though and we'd go back and just have a different dessert.

Quick evening drinks with the family. Good service and a buzzing atmosphere. My husband loves the choice of guest beers.

This is my local & I think it's being run by new management since I last visited some years back, I do love the bloody mary sauce with they burger & they have a good selection of beers.

I came here with my wife and in-laws for Sunday lunch. Since it was raining heavily, it wasn't too busy. The roast dinner was lovely and we all thoroughly enjoyed it (chicken, beef, veg, pork all delicious). The staff were all very friendly, but they could have been a little more attentive (drinks top ups etc). I'd still recommend it for Sunday lunch if it's not too busy.

Cracking pub with a great atmosphere. Really well laid out inside, has a real cozy element to it. The food there is good quality. Service is friendly, really good choice of bears and different ales as well as cider and lager. Prices are reasonable by today's standards, car park is spacious.

Kann ich sehr empfehlen, waren mit Freunden zum Abendessen dort. Die Speisekarte fand ich sehr gut, gab neben den üblichen Gerichten einen sehr guten Ceasers Salad auch der gegrillte Fisch mit Kartoffeln in Curry war sehr fein. Super fand ich auch die Auswahl an Vorspeisen Tapas. Würde ich hier wohnen käme ich öfter 😉

This was my first visit and wow, was not disappointed! I was surprised at how big it was inside. Decor was lovely. Me and mum opted for the Sunday roast. One of the best I've had, definately at the top of my top 10. The gluten free option which mum had was just as good. If you like cheesecake you have to try the strawberry & white chocolate one, it was amazing, in fact the best I have ever tasted and I've had a lot of cheesecakes in my time! Very good value, service was first class and staff were wonderfully polite and very friendly. Couldn't have asked for a better Sunday lunch. Thanks guys see you again soon 😁

Nice roast. Lamb special was a bit small and carrots a bit undercooked, but gravvy was very tasty. Beef was great. Kids portion was good size for 2 toddlers. Overall nice sunday roast

My favourite place to eat. I'm an anxious eater due to suffering IBS but I have NEVER had a problem with my tummy and what puts me at ease is the open plan kitchen. Staff are lush and always accommodating

Such a shame, tried to go today after a long absence. Seemed very busy and chaotic and very rude lady manager although the bar staff seemed nice enough. In the past the food has been really good but the lady was so rude, almost aggressive today, so we didn’t want to stay. We will try again another time and hope for a friendlier face

Visited this pub on a Friday lunchtime and went for the Ham, egg & 'proper' chips. Portion size was just right, and the chips were amazing. It was quiet in the restaurant as the sun was shining and most people were sat outside. Lovely staff and were very helpful. Will definitely be visiting again in the near future...

Great selection of permanent and guest ales available plus a good selection of cider and larger, they have a good amount of seating inside plus a lovely sunny garden outside to enjoy a pint in! Food is delicious with an almost daily specials board, staff are incredible and totally dedicated to their jobs, nothing could be said about them that would be bad! I absolutely love the staff and the pub in general 💯 %

Went here on the weekend for a roast, which was great! Always friendly staff. I would recommend getting the chicken, by far the best quality of the options. The beef last time was a little disappointing, need to change supplier for this.

Last minute dinner date, Sunday lunch ordered, absolutely delicious lots of food on the plate, I had beef & chicken and it was really tender, service good although they were very busy all staff were aware when you needed them, extremely busy that day but certainly didn't dissapoint.

Stopped off at the little jem on the way to the airport. We were served by a lovely man who we ended up chatting to for quite awhile. A couple who had been having a meal walked passed a complemented him on his macaroni cheese. Wish we had time to have eaten there as it looked great. Good interior and an excellent choice of ales and beers. Would recommend this place.

Fabulous food with enormous portions. The steak pie was simply huge & packed full of steak. The chocolate brownie was similarly large but not too stodgy with wonderful ice cream. Also, good range of ciders.

Lovely food staff friendly and attentive

There is always, a buzzing atmosphere in the main bar, the restaurant is quieter. Always book ahead it gets full quickly. My partner had the Fowey mussel dish it was delicious. The vegetarian spag bog had a nice flavour, unusual house beers, and a good selection.

An ok pub for drinks... but the food is very overpriced for what comes... such small potions and quality isn't befitting the really high prices... Drinking atmosphere however is good!!

Bar area was lively locals and staff very friendly the restaurant area was quieter which was nice and the food was stunning

Our first visit to the Hollybush. Service and food excellent. My biggest recommendation to everyone is to have the strawberry and white chocolate cheesecake, oh boy I didnt want it to end!! Only small disappointment was no Cauliflower cheese because it hadn't finished cooking!! And being asked to leave our table as soon as we had finished eating! Despite this we recommend eating here and will definitely return ourselves.

All I need to say is! I'm going back for more!! The best Sunday roast I've had besides my mums. DELICIOUS 😋. Thanks chef.

Pub vary good. Food was really good well worth it a visit. Landlord and staff really helpful, they found us a table when are booking was for wrong day. Vary good.

Great place to dine at.. recommend booking a table in advance if going at busy times ( Sunday lunch) as gets very very busy ,you can see why, the atmosphere is great the service is great and the food is outstanding. Great food pub with seating inside and out . Dogs are allowed which is a added bonus.

Despite being busy we were quickly shown to a table and provided with first class food at, really very reasonable cost. It's been many years since I frequented the 'Bush but I'm glad I got the chance to go back.
